261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BBT] BitBoost - The Block - Decentralized Ecommerce on Ethereum Blockchain on: October 27, 2018, 06:35:04 AM
Marketing is mostly taking a back seat to development, and there won’t be a big push until team delivers a main net version, which should be fairly soon. They should release a Ropsten beta first, followed by the main net version a couple of weeks after that.
It's too late I guess, BBT has already lost its investors, people are not interested on this project and it's not listed anywhere now.
The lack of supporters kill it but it should be the team who are responsible because supporters will increase if they see some good improvement.

Relax, BitBoost is a quality project with great product & great devs, when the whole crypto market starts the next upswing BBT will be ready for mass adoption. All projects are struggling the last 10 months, but the quality ones with finished products and solid business plans will rocket up, but for now .... we wait. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

So quiet 3 round...
Wink

We are making the payouts for the final round and we will close the Bitcointalk signature campaign for now. Compared to other marketing and community building techniques it didn't really yeild the results we wanted.

Thanks for the past payments, I will keep the sig for a while longer.

264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: October 23, 2018, 03:07:29 AM
Stratus is one of most undervalued project right now,  They did everything according to roadmap but there is lack of marketing. Price is too much below than expectations.

PoW coins always suffer in a bear market, no miners so there isn't constant churning of coins from miners paying bills, so the markets have less interest for day traders, so there is less action for speculators, is this a bad thing? We all want higher prices when we sell, but some of us like periods of doom and gloom to accumulate. Fundamentals with stratis far exceed price, but this is a marathon runners coin , could be many years until it moons fully, and when it does it will be real world adoption.

Sorry, Stratis is a full PoS coin, not PoW.

Yes, a typo no miners = PoS

I am very sorry that I did not buy a coin on the ICO when there was an opportunity Roll Eyes

You mean airdrop; Decred didn't do an ICO.

Yea, the days after the airdrop I think the price was near a dollar, it still would have been a fantastic investment.

Haha yup! We all miss the days we could get a DCR for a buck.

Still though, when the price hits $1k+, we'll look back to now and say, "I wish I had bought more when the price was $38!"   Grin haha

Yes, I think decred at a $1 was the chance of a lifetime, so many cryptos are struggling with governance and we all know right from day 1 decred devs were working on a decentralised solution to decision making, and this is the feature that makes dcr a superstar coin. Any future problems and issues can be worked through methodically, no gridlock, no damaging forks and dilution of community resources.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend -The first Segwit Masternodecoin on: October 23, 2018, 02:15:08 AM
How long does the airdrop last, what happens when it ends, is there a master plan for greater adoption, or is the master plan really just to finish a very long airdrop and hope by the end something sparks viral adoption of the coin? Don't get me wrong, I like the airdrop a lot, and masternode are great in their own way, but is there anything else planned?
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | POS | Secure Messaging |NO ICO | bitsquare.io | cryptopia | Yobit on: October 23, 2018, 02:11:25 AM
Is Opal dev team still working with jl777 and supernet/komodo?

Those guys are seriously kicking ass now, side projects from community members with high level skills are popping up like mushrooms every week, it's madness that Opal isn't in komodo discord trying to recruit new people to this project. Please, reach out to komodo and Supernet and re-establish the connection, before those guys are too busy to respond.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 23, 2018, 01:58:33 AM

Or how about this nugget:  "Therefore, we do not like manufacturers that also mine."  Er, but you are doing both, sir.

And finally this pile of gibberish:  "Today, there is a lot of risk associated with mining that comes from not knowing how much hashrate is currently being produced, and also that comes from not knowing when your machine is going to be made obsolete by new competition. These risk factors increase the barrier to entry for mining, increase profit requirements, and overall end up reducing the total hashrate on the network."

Nebulous dev team are defending their ecosystem, shooting a random person is murder, shooting an intruder might be self defence. Time will tell what happens with the fork, but one thing we now know is nebulous has the cajones to make difficult decisions to protect their investment of time, resources and money, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Bitmain actions were damaging, so nebulous fought back, as a user of the p2p storage network it is good to know nebulous is prepared to fight to keep the project viable.

Sia isn't a decentralised leaderless project, not many cryptos are, we all invested in the nebulous team and their tech. We should be happy they are willing to defend themselves, and our investments in sia ecosystem!
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PIRATE] A zk-SNARKS only blockchain, Tor, secured by dPoW and BTC hashrate on: October 23, 2018, 01:44:28 AM
One suggestion to PIRATE dev team, can you add mergetoaddress command into the agama gui wallet? I tried using the command to consolidate my mining utxo using the adama cli but keep getting errors. Usability would definitely go up a lot for novice PIRATES if they can easily merge utxo to speed up transaction times.

If you don't mergetoaddress regularly tx times can be hours if you are combing lots of small mining payouts.

271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: October 23, 2018, 01:36:59 AM
The best alt I have found this year is PIRATE,  it is based on Zcash tech and is an asset chain from komodo ecosystem, which means it is a runtime fork of komodo coin but with a key difference, ALL transactions are anonymous Z tx by default, so it is 100% private unlike Zcash which foolishly makes anon tx optional. This means PIRATE is a direct competitor to monero.

Launch was fair, emission is fully PoW, no ico or premine, first halving is still 9 months away, so still in early adopter phase.

272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PIRATE] Pirate cash on: October 22, 2018, 10:56:26 PM
Lmao

Pirate.black

I propose to call my project "Pirate Cash" but the coin will be called PIRATE. These are really two different projects. When I was looking for the name PIRATE was not on CoinMarketCap.

Why not launch PIRATE cash as a PoW, zk snarks, Z only 100% anonymous coin, you could do this in 10 minutes launching an asset chain on komodo platform and be a hero, change a few parameters from the original PIRATE asset chain like coin supply or block time and you could become as influential and respected in the komodosphere as Charlie Lee is in the cryptosphere. PIRATE Cash could be the silver to PIRATE's gold!

Just using the pirate name makes you look like a douche bro
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: October 22, 2018, 10:47:04 PM
Question is, are people willing to throw some extra BTC at a reboot of Qora or do people just want free coins for doing nothing?

I agree, this is the question we need to ask, I expect the answer from most will be 'free coins for doing nothing' though, so we best get that sorted now, if there's going to be an ICO I don't think many Qora gen1 holders will support it (throwing good money at bad investment), but maybe new entrants to the cryptosphere might. Either way we need certainty about the plan asap.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Verus (VRSC) - zk-SNARK privacy, CPU-mining, 50/50 POW/POS, fair launch on: October 22, 2018, 08:57:54 AM
sent some verus to digitalprice exchange... 18 confirms later nothing shows up...

44 confirms later... still nothing

edit: ok they just put a disclaimer that they will be updating veruscoin wallet 'in the coming DAYS' (wtf..DAYS!?)...fucked on any deposits/withdraws until then

REPEAT: *DO NOT USE* DIGITALPRICE EXCHANGE.

What happened today was a little more complicated, and DigitalPrice tells me they will upgrade, which will resolve everything later today. Due to one of the pools having a configuration error, combined with a change I had made, there was a pool specific rule that caused the older versions to stop progressing, while all those who upgraded were fine. The exchange hadn't upgraded yet. There was another issue with the pool software that once the network started experiencing these issues with older versions, it caused delays, and the pool software, instead of waiting, started flooding the daemon with block requests. We ended up doing a small, pool specific update, and all pools are fine now, as is the network, though people now need to upgrade to the latest at https://veruscoin.io rather than wait until just before October 28th.

The need to upgrade caught the exchange by surprise, and at the end of all analysis, it was my error, so please be upset with me (Mike Toutonghi), if anyone. It would not be fair to blame DigitalPrice. I apologize for your delay and inconvenience.

Good update Mike, thanks! Being on the cutting edge of new tech involves experienc8ng these sort of bugs from time to time, verus team sorted everything fast, and now everyone will be upgraded in time for sapling, so the end result is good. I even noticed jl777 in discord channel offering help desk support to the community for many hours so team verus has good friends when needed.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: October 21, 2018, 11:17:56 AM

I will put something out, my issue is that I don't like to talk about things until they are either complete, or fully thought out. Which, in some cases means that I do not talk about things very frequently at all...

But I do understand that people would like to 'see' what we're thinking. So, what I like to do instead, is what I call an 'idea map'. Which, I agree, I haven't put out in quite a while... and is probably a decent idea.

We have simply been VERY busy. There are many things going on in multiple avenues at the moment, and it doesn't look to be slowing any time in the foreseeable future from what I can tell (which is definitely a good thing overall.) The ideas for what QORA will be, are frequently being modified, and adapting to other concepts we are putting together, etc... which means that an idea map is something that would be in constant flux, and as such is a bit difficult to accurately portray on a static medium.

Nonetheless, I WILL put something together here, as I believe we finally DO have a solid plan for the overall nature of the future of both the existing platform, and for what is being referred to as 'Gen 2', which in reality is going to be a plethora of various chain platforms all working as one in the future.

What we know as 'QORA' now, will be the foundation for so many fantastic new platforms and ideas... I truly believe that people will be extremely excited to be part of it.

...

'QORA' - the platform now - is to become an 'exchange'. However, this exchange is not typical. It is so not typical, in fact, that it will not be called an exchange at all.

Instead, it will be called a 'Gateway' or 'trade portal'. (Personally, I am fond of the name 'Q-Gate', but that is not decided yet.) This gateway, will be multiple things. First of which, is TOTALLY TRUSTLESS. The methods utilized in the transactions carried out on the platform, are those which exercise the use of 'Atomic Cross-Chain Transfers' (or direct cross-blockchain coin trades. wallet-to-wallet, with no central authority.)

This will create a fully automated trade ecosystem, without central authority whatsoever.

This platform too, will make use of a newly devised method (by our team) of 'powering' the blockchain backend that comprises the core of the functionality... This method will essentially power the chain utilizing 'liquidity' as the variable. Making use of all blockchain-located data, the chain itself will be moved in accordance to guidelines of liquidity, in the 'order books' of the system itself. Because these are all verifiable blockchain-located data sets, the ability to make use of them to move the chain, is viable. (Every detail is still being worked out, however, the concept and base ideas are there.)

'SuperNodes' will be utilized in the system, in order to 'verify and track' the 'liquidity providers' of the system, rewarding them in accordance to the location, duration, and size of their orders on the books. (Rules will be finalized in regard to these methods, and have yet to be fully thought out.)

This method, I personally believe, will provide a very stable, self-sustaining ecosystem that contains value-adding properties for the underlying service token of the platform, which is QORA itself.

Given that QORA is a coin that has not only been released for many years, and the fact that its supply has been diminished from exchange issues, losses, and people 'giving up' on the coin in a more direct way than many other platforms (given the fact that the project has been seen as 'dead' for probably years in the eyes of most, and on the surface according to the search engines of the 'interwebz') The circulating supply is relatively unknown, and many other 'dead coin' 'issues' may affect any swap attempt in the future... Therefore...

A SWAP IS NOT GOING TO BE COMPLETED AT ANY POINT. However, the value provided to existing QORA coins will be immense once the platform described above briefly comes to fruition.

Keep in mind as well, that the development was picked up by our team. We are not holders from the original coin ICO, nor are we large holders by any means regardless. The project development was picked up due to merit of the underlying architecture and technology, and overall ideas that were put in place in QORA. We could have simply created a clone, but we did not. We chose to 'revive' the existing coin, and fully intend to fulfill that promise. However, we do believe that swapping from QORA to any other chain, in the ideas we had originally provided, is a bad idea, and will do nothing to benefit the Gen 2 platform. Hence, we shall not execute said swap.

Thank you all, and here's to the future of QORA and all that come from its codebase!

Thanks for the update!

Can you confirm that gen2 will be distributed mostly from PoW mining, will there be any ICO,  will there be any premine, how will the dev team get compensated?

The vision you describe sounds great and i like what you're describing, but any complaints from Qora gen1 holders will revolve around answers to type of questions above. I personally think ICO era the last 2 years left a lot of damage, and so a staged time released premine will get most community support from gen1 holders.

As I said above, better to have disgruntled gen1 guys leave the community early if the don't like the basics of gen2 distribution, don't have months of arguments and fud.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 21, 2018, 02:53:02 AM
Good luck to sia classic, if they have devs who can compete with the actual implementation of decentralised storage then this can drive the 'original' nebulous dev team to achieve better results, too often crypto projects make early financial gains that make dev teams lazy, get on the conference circuit jetting around the world talking about solutions rather than coding them. Competition is good, and everyone now owns equal number of coins on both chains, so all is fair at the start.

Hopfuly we gain some traction. The name of the coin seems to be offputting to alot of people but the coin itself looks to have potential.

I don't see any evidence the name is putting people off, quite the opposite, I see people having fun with PIRATE speak and memes. This coin is community based and not really targeted at people who might be put off by the name,  the tech is awesome, the team behind PIRATE is fantastic, and the vibe is FUN.

278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 20, 2018, 08:31:57 AM
The fork will end months of uncertainty  and I expect 'sia classic' will continue and could easily morph into a viable crypto, not very likely it will become a token for a rival decentralised storage network without devs, but with a community of miners with existing hardware behind it, sia classic has a good base to work something out.

He world doesn't need Sia classic , but obsolete hardware is a powerful incentive to keep it going.

Coinbook Update

https://twitter.com/coinbook_com/status/1052571335610707970

NovaExchange Update

They have added a DOGE Market for Bullion

As promised, here is the new deposits opening this week. Things are falling into place over here quite quick now, soon the puzzle that is Nova Standard Crypto Exchange is done and we open for new registrations. And then, NEW assets will be listed! Stay with us for that.

Great news, looks like it started a bit of buying on cryptopia as would be expected. Not much inventory available now for anyone wanting to setup a BPN, I think a slingshot x5 gain is likely in the next month, a coin with this much potential that has survived for this long with good devs and rusted on community support can't stay undervalued much longer. 2019 will be great for CBX!!
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: October 20, 2018, 05:07:49 AM
How will Qora gen2 be distributed if there isn't a swap, are you planning an ICO now, or is distribution from mining now exclusively?

If Qora gen1 holders don't get any swap, what keeps the community supporting Qora gen2? I need some more explanation to be convinced with this plan.

I would think mining is the only viable way to start. This would be a great way to equalize for all holders of Qora v1 to get in on the new Q2 without a swap. And it sounds like any Qora Gen 1 gets to be a liquidity provider for Qora v2. If v2 would not be listed on any other Exchange and force people to use Q1 for liquidity. It is a great strategy. It only seems logical that there would be no need to have an Exchange list Q2 if a DEX is listing it on Q1. Now you don't have to worry about KYC/AML requirements and daily volume limits.

snapshot is also not a bad idea for the transition v2, so much we have been talking about it for 2 years and no action here can be seen. I really have no patience for this project

Snapshot is good provided that they make the v1 private keys compatible to v2. Then no one will lose any coin. This is the safest way.

It would be great to have all the details for the roadmap, swap, and gen 2 distribution/emission nailed down asap, Qora missed the 2017 party, we don't want to miss the next one by not having everything sorted before the next bull market. I suspect things are being worked out in private behind the scenes, but the community needs to digest the roadmap so any pissed off people can exit, the last thing Qora needs is infighting and confusion just after something like a bakkt crypto wide pump starts.

I still don't know how Qora gen2 gets distributed .... swap, airdrop, mining ...
