661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: October 21, 2016, 05:24:41 AM

Very sad to see how the ideas of Qora the original coder are simply ignored and forgotten.

Yes, and I believe that the original coder would prefer PoS over PoW.

Qora is becoming BURST 2.0. It will be no longer Qora soon.

The great thing about crypto and blockchains is everyone is free to fork, modify, and setup a new coin. If people don't like it they don'y buy, they don't hodl, and the coin dies. The original Qora dev is gone, so his opinion is not relevant anymore, even though we all obviously respect what he did. It's just like BCNext and ARDOR - his opinion is not relevant if he's gone (although BCNext did offer support for ARDOR).

If you want Qora to stay PoS ... GO FOR IT! Nobody can stop you keeping that chain alive, and nobody can stop other guys forking Qora and modifying code to PoW. Everybody is FREE to do whatever they can to get support from users, that's why crypto currencies are so cool!

Honestly, keeping PoS Qora alive is a good thing to attempt, and so is forking a PoW Qora too! There's no bad guys here

On the knomodo election site is says positions for Europe have been filled, but how can they be filled before the election has happened?

I prefer to let the market decide if what is wanted is the minimal Komodo, or the medium Komodo or the monster Komodo.

The monster Komodo, please!   Cool

The medium Komodo would be a Goanna

It is stated that anything abive 10k raised is war chest. What exactly is war chest? Will there be a buy wall at exchange just after coin launch? Will james use the ico btc to protect investors from the initial price drop?

Investors have been burnt recently by over bloated ico like waves. No one buys after coin is launched at exchange. Price drops to half the ico and the investors who funded the ico are called fudders when they demand justification for price drops.

Why not reward the investors by capping ico at 10k btc.

Oh and i have done good reading. And i can read what has not been writeen too. I know why the opportunistic timing of this ico with zcash launch right in the middle of your 5 week ICO.

afaik the majority of ICO funds goes to paying notary node fees for 10 years, investors who need price support shouldn't really invest, more risk than they can cope with
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has Anyone Heard About Draco? Is There A Official Thread of It On This Forum? on: October 20, 2016, 07:41:02 AM
Draco is DT-Token here. Its quite low now on exchanges and I have still funds being stocked. Recently, I read they have several projects announced on twitter but still it remain to be seen. Devs are hard working and active too on social media.

DT-Token is a sleeper project, well worth your time to investigate it, Lee is a 'known' guy with a proven track record for persistence

EDIT: To make it clear, the revenue flows BTCD was promised are not going to migrate into Komodo.

That is the most disappointing thing I've heard all week.....no more staking and now no more revenue flows....such is life

Cheers Jon  Sad

The BTCD revenues go to the BTCD rev asset that gets created from a BTCD snapshot after the ico finishes

Is there a chance running a notary node (and receiving KMD fees) might be considered a money transmitting business under FINCEN guidelines? My opinion is no, but I'm not a lawyer.

Is it possible to generate iota addresses for a paper wallet on an offline PC that never goes on the internet?

Sure of course.

And I'll save you some time in the future. The phrase you are looking for here is "air gapped".

cool, I thought maybe to generate an address and have it 'known' on the tangle required some PoW be done. When I last tried running the wallet generating an address took about 90 sec and my CPU went into overdrive

That's right and recommended, but you can also use the address without attaching it to the tangle. It will get attached to the tangle when someone makes a transaction towards it. So your seed doesn't have to leave the offline machine.

When I tried generating some addresses on an air gapped PC I was only able to generate one address per seed. When I went to 'receive' an address appeared, but when I click 'attach to tangle'  the wallet just shows 'no milestone yet' for obvious reasons, and I can't see how to go onto generate a second address while the first is trying to attach to the tangle, so the user can't generate multiple addresses from a single seed on an air gapped PC. Is there a way to generate addresses using an api call maybe? I need more than one address for my balance, but would prefer using one seed.

673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeosCoin swap in progress. Details, news and other information. on: August 26, 2016, 11:45:04 PM
Whoever it is would be stupid to just dump it and hurt the price. Those who hold a lot of any currency have no interest in damaging the price but the opposite. If it should be somebody with money, and it obviously needs some money to collect that much, it could even be a good sign - maybe he will help on the marketing-side.

those with a lot of coins can yo-yo the market fleecing people of neos and bitcoin for a long time to come. nothing anyone can do about it, except think long term and hodl

Manual claims that have contacted via contact@iotatoken.com will be processed in the weekend/early beginning of next week, yes.

can you tell us from looking at the emails a rough ball-park figure for manual claim donations to big deal?

I sent from blockchain.info, am I ok?

afaik yes

cool! they recently changed their interface and i feel like a noobie navigating the wallet now. I know in the past it was possible to access private keys on the old site, but the new one, I'm not sure how to do that.

Does Qora have a web wallet like blockchain.info or mynxt.info? Is one being planned?
