821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 0.8.2. What do you think? on: May 06, 2013, 07:18:16 PM

That isn't my job, that is why Gavin gets a salary he should be working on that. Instead he just puts a temp patch and goes on a walk for an interview.

I would advocate leaving this decision to miners. Miners should have the ability to form a marketplace for what they will confirm in a block and what they won't confirm. Would you accept this system?
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 0.8.2. What do you think? on: May 06, 2013, 07:11:46 PM
I'm curious. Those who feel this shouldn't exist, then how do you propose we eliminate vacuous transactions meant to bog down the network?
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WTF - Kiddy Porn in the Blockchain for life? on: May 06, 2013, 06:46:30 AM
To be honest the thread has really run its course. My only goal was to get a response from someone in the dev community to address this issue. It was done and everyone should be clear by now what can be put in the blockchain. This thread should be closed by a mod.
824  Bitcoin / Project Development / Advice for a social media compaign on: May 05, 2013, 08:30:58 PM
The Bitcoin Education Project needs some help in the social media world. We are going to build a facebook and twitter page to solicit help and donations; however, this seems like a 1.0 effort in a 2.0 world. Anyone who social media experience could chime in with some advice how to broadcast our project, its mission and goals, and the free course we are building for the mainstream?
825  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need Marketing Suggestions for Our Course on: May 05, 2013, 07:35:04 PM
Adam and I worked out a deal a few days ago. You might have noticed his website now links to our Udemy course. I'll try for an interview as soon as we have the project website up and running.

I'm also trying to build a relationship with TWIT.tv. Any other media suggestions? Bitcoin Mag is a no go, but perhaps ed and ethan or David Perry's show?

Definition something we could look into. Keep them coming
827  Bitcoin / Project Development / Need Marketing Suggestions for Our Course on: May 05, 2013, 04:47:53 PM
The Bitcoin Education Project has released a free crowdsourced course in partnership with Udemy:

https://www.udemy.com/bitcoin-or-how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-crypto/

We need some advice on where and how to market the course to hit our subscription goal of 10,000 by the end of the Summer and 100k by the end of 2013. We also need contributors to help us make more content in the following areas of bitcoin {Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation, History, Technology and Economics}. Any ideas?

The more support the better. Building a revolution here.

Could you post a link to those threads?
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is promoting bitcoin for purchasing goods and services? on: May 05, 2013, 12:15:33 AM
We are with the Bitcoin Education Project especially with merchants. We're going to do a series of lectures on how businesses can accept bitcoins and how people can safely use bitcoins for commerce. We also recommended bitmit.net in our course appendix. If anyone is building services for merchants using bitcoin, then PM me, I'd be happy to help broadcast your product.

Seems like a power grab to me......

That is internal biz of that foundation. Perhaps it was a bad idea to pay someone loads of money for membership of an exclusive club if two members of club suing each other is the end of it.

I for once do not have any regrets ignoring this "foundation" from the get go.

The foundation needs to go and we need something else.

Actually you do not deserve a comment. A bunch of suckers have started a witch hunt because you are afraid that your 1 BTC will temporarily fall by 10% because your precious centralized exchange is being sued for breach of contract rightly or wrongly do not deserve  a comment.

If a party feels it was wronged why do you want to deny them justice?

There is a right and wrong way to do things. Peter and Mark are the two most powerful members of the bitcoin foundation due to their financial ties and respective businesses. Now they have entered into a sum zero suit that will result in the destruction of one of them and damage the brand of bitcoin. It may even destroy the foundation we paid money to join.

Now I feel entitled to a fucking statement. At the very least an explanation how the hell Peter and Mark are going to work together on the same board. It's like a surgeon operating a patient who is actively suing him for malpractice. I'm sorry some things shouldn't be done. Peter and Mark should resign.
834  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Foundation - Comments on the Coinlab/Mt Gox Lawsuit on: May 04, 2013, 06:52:24 AM
No response from Peter. I guess we don't deserve a comment.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Im fairly confident the NSA (US Gov) Can 51% Any Coin At Any Time on: May 04, 2013, 02:59:30 AM
The american intelligence agencies have no incentive to bring down bitcoin. Unless the NSA receives an executive order to kill bitcoin, they simply won't do it.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Peter Vessenes have giant holdings in BTC?? If so, why crash it? on: May 04, 2013, 02:47:29 AM
Buy when the market tanks and then sell at the high point. It's called scumbag surfing
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Im fairly confident the NSA (US Gov) Can 51% Any Coin At Any Time on: May 04, 2013, 02:44:18 AM
I can assure you that the NSA has bigger things to worry about than bitcoin.
