that huge coin value drop... is "empty mn value" happening? or botnet make sellout cuz of pol?
Now that C-CEX is partially up (on the bitcoin side, not on the BBP side), I have paid this months Orphan Recurring expenses successfully.
If you navigate (in the pool) to Orphans | Orphan Fundraisers, and Orphans | Expenses Paid, you can see that after being in business for 6 full months, we have finally broken even!
So on a positive note, Biblepay is self-sustaining in the most basic sense: It is now supporting 189 orphans around the world on its own! Congratulations all of you warm hearted tithers!
Although we met the milestone (using superblocks and being self sustaining) finally (since as of last month, we had a deficit of $10k), on the downside we do not have a surplus yet, here is the grand total state of biblepay:
$37,691 income to date $37,267 expenses to date
(Well, yes, we do have a $500 surplus now), but my point is we still have had only barely enough to cover the recurring expenses and have not yet paid orphan premiums in advance as we plan to.
With the superblocks at 40 day spacing, and the budgets at almost half of what they were when we started, its going to be close, but I also believe we have an extremely bright future, along with the state of the sinking economy, and crypto in general - a very bright future.
(On a side note, we plan to fix the block spacing, the network hashps, and the superblock funding levels in testnet to have changes ready for the next mandatory that may include POL, so that effect should be resolved).

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Are Masternode Coins ICOs?

"I see that it's not a traditional ICO, but since the architecture is maybe quite centralized (masternodes), perhaps it could be considered "an ICO with more steps"" -theymos forum admin === What is an ICO? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_coin_offeringhttps://www.investopedia.com/news/what-ico/https://bitcoinmagazine.com/guides/what-ico/"In an ICO, some quantity of the crowdfunded cryptocurrency is preallocated to investors in the form of "tokens,"" === What is a Masternode? https://coinsutra.com/masternodes/http://dashmasternode.org/what-is-a-masternode/https://pivxmasternode.org/what-is-a-masternode/https://decryptionary.com/dictionary/masternode/"A masternode is more than just a node. It has a managing role and special jobs that regular nodes don’t have. - A masternode’s managing role is to vote on proposals to improve the system. Every masternode gets one vote. - A masternode’s special jobs include creating instant transactions, known as “InstantSend”, and private transactions that hide the fact that you’ve sent money, known as “PrivateSend”." === Feedback on Discord: "Masternodes get paid because they provide a service. An ICO is nothing like that." -SilentLennie "well they might be in some technical sense but definitely not in the commonly understood meaning of the term" -feedbands "well, depends on the coin, you can have an ICO with masternodes, such as Academy - or you can have masternodes with no ICO, like PIVX" -John M "Masternode projects would only be considered ICOs if the coin devs directly sold people coins at a certain price" -Eatbatterys "an Initial Coin Offering would mean that devs are selling coins at a price point they decide" -Eatbatterys "if you can mine it then it's not an ICO..." -kusk0r "ICOs are just a sale of tokens by their creator. Some of them could be masternode coins, but that's not a requirement." -BTCMILLIONARE "the two things are independent from one another. A coin that has masternodes could have an ICO (Dash did not have an ICO). Similarly, a coin that has an ICO could have masternodes." -TroyDASH

CoinsMarkets Exchange posted an official news update:
"About the down time , Time : 2018-01-19 First let us explain what is coinsmarkets , we are based on 2 investor , 1 admin , 1 coder , 2 senior support and 4 general support . In November last year 1 of senior support left the team , It is hard enough to hire a new one , this work is based on a lot of trust , so we still waiting for correct condidat.
Now let's move to the issue , in December we experienced a lot of new users and huge volume , we were ready for double or even triple volume but in our case it was 10x+.
From here all kind of problem start with servers , Now add to that the last senior support remaining have some family issue and was forced to be off most of the time . In addition to all that there was some db corruption issue we faced due to the overload and later hosting issue.
So a lot of work to do with a lot of missing stuff.
Please understand that in exchange you can't just go and hire someone and trust him millions of dollars .
We are sorry for lack of comunication about issue we have thought that people already trust us enough , and we invested 100% of time in restoring the site .
Now issue with hosting , hosting complained about a lot of fraud report from users about our service . We find this really hard to explain , it is clear that not even a single coin has moved from our wallets , and once again we are here to stay ,
We have not even released 10% of our road map , there is a lot of new future to be added in the nearest future.
A week ago we started negoation with new host that can accept similar service , we initiated the move ,
The Database was fixed yesterday night .
Now remain to setup new servers , few fix here and there and service will be restored ,
We write our news only in coinsmarkets news section , any twitter , chat msg etc is a scam ,
Again Official Coinsmarkets message are written only in coinsmarkets news section ."

Theymos the Forum Admin that runs the Banner Ads on the forum has rejected the coin BiblePay for being an ICO, when it is just a Masternode coin (like Dash). BiblePay OP: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2388064.0Is BiblePay an ICO for being a Masternode coin?=== Feedback: "I noticed this time that your ad is for an ICO, but we do not accept ads for ICOs" -theymos "Hmm, I'm not sure... I see that it's not a traditional ICO, but since the architecture is maybe quite centralized (with the orphan fund and masternodes), perhaps it could be considered "an ICO with more steps". For now I think that it's too close to an ICO. You could create a topic in Meta requesting public comment, and if there's consensus that it's more like eg. Litecoin than an ICO, then I'd probably allow it." -theymos

The Bitcoin Forum Admin that runs the Forum Ads is claiming that BiblePay is an ICO "I noticed this time that your ad is for an ICO, but we do not accept ads for ICOs. The fact that you wanted to advertise an ICO slipped past me when I checked your last ad; I'm sorry for causing you to waste time on fixing the ad." -theymos "Hmm, I'm not sure...
