BiblePay - 1.0.6.7
Mandatory Upgrade

- Disable tithe blocks at #21550
- Ensure Sanctuary payments can go live at #21551
- Increment mandatory protocol version to 70911
- Sanctuary payments went live at block #21551
- Superblocks start at block #30001
- Proposals and Budgets went live at block #21551

** This is the linux release.  Please upgrade now and lets get the chain rolling on the right fork.

Windows will be available in 4 hours.  **

Oh unfortunately we need to update every single node in our system, the pool, the masternodes, everything Smiley.

it's asking to rebuild block DB after the update .

I deleted blocks, chainstate and database dirs and  restarted the daemon but it still seems  not syncing.

updated,rebuild,deled chains,block, .db without sync
next machine stuck on 21548 block with reindexing

So after you upgrade your linux box, the last few blocks in the chain are bad because the tithe was paid at that height.

Go ahead and click OK to let it rebuild the block index.

Alex and I are working on this now to ensure we resync up to 21551.  This upgrade only talks to other nodes of the same protocol version, hence the reason it is not going smoothly.

We are working it out now.

Please wait two more hours for the windows update.

ROb , how long should it take to rebuild the block DB  ?

I've been running it for more than an hour with no luck .  stopped it .

can you post an IP of the node with  a healthy rebuilt DB so we can force connection and resync ?

===============

For the block database issue, we just type in yes?

Do we need to run any of these commands?

Code:
rm blocks -R
rm chainstate -R

rm banlist.dat
rm fee_estimates.dat
rm governance.dat
rm mncache.dat
rm mnpayments.dat
rm netfulfilled.dat
rm peers.dat

./biblepayd -daemon -reindex

I tried the rm blocks and rm chainstate command and then a reindex and Im stuck at block 0 hehe

the one issue is right now with the exchanges frozen, the price won't reflect what I think will happen (a gentle bump).  But I guess the payout on proposals isn't until January, which brings me to a question.  How do we word a proposal that doesn't cite specific amounts of BBP but rather a price/value?  Should the proposals say (using current $0.004444 and 23 sat values) 11,251 BBP to pay a $50 expense for some work done based on the current value or should they say, pay $50 in BBP and that price be determined on the payout day?  Likewise with prices in BTC, so the above, would the proposal say .125 BTC in BBP or should it say 544K BBP to pay a .125 BTC for a listing expense?

The two issues I see are in the first example (work done), citing the value as BBP puts a lot of risk of fluctuation.  Not singling out Togo because he's been HUGE in this, but he's asking for $600 at the current rate for a total of 135K BBP.  But if the price were to double between now and the January payouts, he would get a huge windfall, and likewise, if the price plummeted (if BTC dropped to $6K and we stayed at 23 sat), he would not get fairly paid.  Either is a poor outcome.  In the second case, we MUST pay .125 BTC worth of BBP so expressing it at 544K BBP isn't very workable.

Please consider:
Why not pay $600 regardless of current prices. Pay in BTC or BBP (or mix). Up to person and risk they wish to take.

People have to pay real life bills and they spend their real life time to create value.
In the case of Togo, he should ask for 3x that as his guides were exactly what I needed (they are very well tested)

Thank you for the kind words Webster! (I probably should have left the threads open for feedback before submitting the proposals, my hourly rate at my day time job is much higher LOL, but it is software development work vs technical writing and social media work, Im curious to see how the proposal system works out when more people jump into it!)

I had no idea what to use for the  BBP price, Rob suggested just going with the current price so I went with it,
Im kind of the first proposal guinea pig LOL

Id advise getting listed on masternode.pro https://masternodes.pro/

They show up as top google result when searching for keywords "masternode coins and "masternode list"

I sent a submission form a while back, but never heard anything from them:  https://goo.gl/forms/vz313NokCtnVD5Yk2
Im also in their discord: https://discord.gg/ju5AbMx

I believe the fee is $400 to get listed for 1 year

haha I was going to say the exact same thing. I think .125 btc is pretty expensive but I'm not sure which one is the most popular/best.

From my google searching of keywords, I would DEFINITLEY advise masternode.pro, they are the top google result for the various "masternode" keyword variations, but I dont know their fees yet

If anyone could submit another form to them, that would be awesome!,
I just contacted them again in Discord, but I think they are asleep

From just skimming I noticed like ~70%++ of the IP addresses on the block explorer are coming from China
https://biblepay-explorer.org/network

Anyone here know English and Chinese and can translate?

Look at the crazy time we are living in:

Binance has completed the distribution of SuperBitcoin (SBTC) and Bitcoin X (BCX). You can login and check that the SBTC and BCX has been credited to your account.
- BCX worth $27 MM  as of 12-16-2017

As previously announced, the distribution of SBTC (at a rate of 1 BTC: 1 SBTC) and  BCX (at a rate of 1 BTC: 10,000 BCX) was based on a snapshot of BTC balances at Block 498,888, which was taken at 10:29:53 AM (UTC) on 2017/12/12.
In order to ensure the security of your assets, we will announce the opening of withdrawals for SBTC and BCX after
-SBTC worth 2.9MM as of 12-16-2017

If you are long bitcoin and it is deposited at Binance you automatically get these "free" assets.

This is because developers are now cloning the bitcoin chain and forking it on purpose to make new assets.

(This reminds of the day before the bitcoin cash fork everyone long bitcoin in a coinbase account would have had $3000 per BTC free in BTC Cash the next morning).

Upcoming Bitcoin Forks:

Dec 12 Bitcoin Hot
Dec 13 Super Bitcoin
Dec 23 Lightning Bitcoin
Dec 23 Bitcoin Platinum
Dec 25 Bitcoin God
Dec 31 Bitcoin Uranium
Jan 2 Bitcoin Cash Plus
N/A Bitcoin Silver

Previous Bitcoin Forks:

Bitcoin Cash       (Forked at Block 478559, 1 August 2017)
Bitcoin Gold        (Forked at Block 491407, 24 October 2017)
Bitcoin Diamond (Forked at Block 495866, 24 November 2017)
UnitedBitcoin      (Forked at Block 498777, 12 December 2017)
BitcoinX             (Forked at Block 498888, 12 December 2017)
Super Bitcoin      (Forked at Block 498888, 12 December 2017)

LOL, Im such a newbie I dont even know how to get these forked coins hahaha, I didnt even know there were so many!
I was only really aware of Bitcoin Cash and was slightly aware of Bitcoin Gold.

Yes! Smiley
1628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: December 16, 2017, 09:57:05 PM
Just a heads up everyone, we will have a mandatory upgrade to hashing version F9000 in about 30 more blocks.

Please be prepared to upgrade.

Could someone Please reach out to coinsmarkets.com - our 2nd exchange, and open a ticket and tell them to take us down for maintenance?

Also shout it out in the trollbox, so they can take us offline for maintenance ASAP.

Tell them we have a mandatory upgrade coming.

After I release this upgrade in approximately 20 minutes, I have to step out.

Thanks.

Thank you for all the hard work Rob! (and thank you too Alex!)

Will there be a Windows release? 32bit exe shows v1.0.6.5

I feel weird asking for coins for work I did (Im just happy to be part of the project and to see the coins I have already grow in value),
I will spend time over the next week or so looking at DASH and other masternode coins to see how they do proposals and if they have proposal guides/tips.

For now I guess I will ask for: How many hours I spent working on a specific thing multiplied by an okay Hourly rate and convert that to BiblePay coins based on current BBP price? (Is there an easy way to get an average BBP price as of past 30 days?) I dont want to undervalue myself but I dont want to overvalue either.

Ill just take a stab and I guess we shall see what happens! Will be an interesting experiment.

Just saw your last post Rob, yeah any help would be greatly appreciated! Im going to pass out after work today hahaha (Ive been slacking at work too LOL, dont tell my boss! LOL Tongue)

Has anyone attempted to create a wallet for Raspberry Pi 3 for mining? Is it refundable? I suppose that no, but no one knows Smiley
I'm considering about buying one. Of course, not for mining, but ... Wink

I believe python_man got the Raspberry Pi to work:

I have a more step by step Sanctuary Guide that I am working on, its not complete nor thoroughly tested yet,
but I wanted to throw it out here to help anyone!, I hope to completely step through it and finalize it tonight after work

http://wiki.biblepay.org/Create_Sanctuary_2

Wow, that is quite extensive!  Great job!   I see you are starting to cover proposals also.

Thank you Rob!, I stayed up till 4am last night working on the 2nd guide O_O
I consider it more complete and tested now (though still might be a little confusing in some parts)
Any and all feedback is welcome!

Should I set up a donation address? or maybe submit a proposal?
(Im really curious to learn more about and try out proposals)

bible_pay will f8000 disable big miners with multi wallet mining? xeons machines with 12c/24t= 24wallets with cpuprotlimit=8 example  Wink  thanks

I don't understand your example of multi wallet mining. I have a number of machines (PC, VPS, dedicated servers) in the pools ... each machine runs one biblepay wallet/software as a single miner. How is that different from multi wallet mining?

inblue ran tests and found that running multiple instances of BiblePay gave more HPS than running one instance of BiblePay at multiple threads:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2042657.msg22321536#msg22321536
http://wiki.biblepay.org/Multiple_Instances

I remember Rob later got upset about it and changed the pool settings and inblue ended up leaving, and I think this is what spurred nsummy to create a 2nd pool.
I consider it kind of an exploit, not sure if it ever got patched, but I guess Slovakia and probably others have been using it solo or on 2nd pool?  Sad
1639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: December 15, 2017, 04:42:59 AM
1. The 8% pool fee is temporary until Rob gets back the coins lost from the "security event" that occurred
2. Miners who set themselves as not anonymous have a lower fee
3. Miners who write Orphan Letters every 1-2 months have a 0% fee (and are rewarded with BBP)
4. A 2nd Pool exists called MinersOfMen that miners can switch to if they want
5. Anyone can start a pool, the code is open source: https://github.com/biblepay/BiblePayPool

Rob has provided TONS of value, I hope he reaps the fruits of his labor

But you adrianbits, you have mostly complained and provided little to nothing

What is your goal here?
Why are you wasting energy here?
Why not start your own coin?

Begone troll!
1640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: December 15, 2017, 02:59:10 AM
Rob, I dont know how you handle all the trolls and haters, just know I support you and what you're doing and so do a lot of others! <3

adrianbits has revealed himself, I believe he is curiousminder on the BiblePay reddit: https://www.reddit.com/user/curiousminder
he created a subreddit called /r/biblepayscam LOL

znffal I dont think Rob was upset with you at all, so no worries, it was directed at adrianbits, he was just replying to your price calibration comments in the same post
