201  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: September 13, 2013, 11:14:47 AM
The Bitburner Fury
We will offer fully assembled and tested Bitcoin mining board. The board will hold 16 Bitfury ASIC chips. Our chip order is the first order in the queue of the delivery of 20 September. The board will have an external clock which makes it possible to overclock the chips. The board is designed by Burnin Electronics.

By the way, could you elaborate on the pricing a bit, please.

Burnin stated earlier the price point would be around 470 euros per board. Does this still hold, or has there been much adjustment upwards in pricing?

Seeing as the chips are 22,5 euros each (per a reel of 3000), the chips would cost 360 euros for one board. 110 euros for manufacturing, parts, design etc doesn't sound too bad tbh.

Is there a mailing list to be notified when your site opens?

We will sent a mailing to all the Bitburner clients with the exact launch moment.

How long a window are you preparing for us to get ahead of "the public"?

I take it you have at least 1 reel of BitFury chips, so 3000 chips worth of boards (187) for sale in the first batch?
203  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [OPEN] BitFury chip distribution, 0.27BTC/chip (W41 October delivery) on: September 13, 2013, 10:48:11 AM
Booked my lot ,

PS : Anyone know if burning is willing to make assembly for thos?

This is what burnin has said about his boards:

Quote
The Bitfury design i am working on is a 16 Chip board with the same form factor as the BitBurner.
I think it makes sense that i will sell boards including the chips now - no more group buys.

I've asked him about assembly, but haven't received an answer yet.

Damn... so many posts here and in other threads quoting math, showing clearly how these things are just as overpriced as ever. As in, you'll never make your money back from either these or the blades. That same has been true from the beginning of Asicminer sales.

And still people line up to buy buy buy.

So many suckers...  Roll Eyes

And no info about shipping of the 400,000 chips they just got...nice

Why can't I shake this sick feeling in my stomach that the line about 400,000 chips was just another steaming pile of bullshit ?

We did mention in the last email they were already in hand, are being sent out. this email is just to address those people who still wish to get refunds even if their order is "prepare-shipping" which is the 400k+ chips.

Add this to the long list of things you've supposed to have had "in hand" or "in production" et cetera. Your credibility is nonexistent at this point.

It's sad to see you turn Avalon into such a garbage heap. So much potential, so much fail.
206  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] Avalon ASIC chip distribution on: September 10, 2013, 07:11:24 AM
all gone ehhh???    Do you think Avalon will ship the Gen 2 ASIC chips by October / Late October??

You're joking, right? Right??

At this point trusting anything that ShitSyncom says would be... less than prudent.
207  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter USB]0.10BTC-0.12BTC, Distribution Re-Opened on: September 10, 2013, 07:04:15 AM
Still too expensive. But hey, friedcat has to live up to his reputation Tongue

As long as there is some BTC to be ripped off of the community, there will be friedcat Wink
208  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Do we want to continue to allow various vendor hate in here? on: September 08, 2013, 10:20:43 AM
Thank you theymos. Take back any bad things I thought about you. Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=284843.msg3105242#msg3105242

BFL just lost the auction since others outbid Josh. theymos didn't in any way indicate BFL shouldn't/couldn't bid on that, so nothing has changed in that regard.

Don't be so quick to say "all is well".

Funny to see Josh whine in that thread though Tongue

Smells Overpriced
Smells Underpowered

Smells like it is in stock.
I guess it can be considered better to lose BTC now than lose it later ...
But I'm not sure how Smiley

Kano for sure hit the nail on the head there...  Grin

What is going on with the CHIP REFUNDS ?

SHITSTORM!
211  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: September 04, 2013, 06:35:10 AM
Very disgusting when some group buy leaders took advantage of the situation and start charging 5% or more for the group buy refund. When Yifu gave a 100% full refund. So those Greedy and Selfish group leaders we know who you are. These group buy leaders organised DIY and buy pcb, parts etc, thinking of making more money greed but who in the first place went a head and spent money on this parts, you yourself are to blame. Why blame those who choose to only want the chips and nothing more. If you choose to charge 5% or 10% on those who requested you to buy parts for them that may be more reasonable, why put everyone in the same group.

No wonder your ignore button is so yellow...
212  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Do we want to continue to allow various vendor hate in here? on: September 04, 2013, 06:31:17 AM
This is fairly common knowledge and is why so many threads are addressed directly to Theymos.

This, I'm pretty sure most knew that already. If you guys want to waste your time with assumptions, well it's your time to waste. I don't make it a habit to waste my own time correcting it though.

Well, seeing as you can't do a thing about the very reason there's so much "vendor hate" here on this forum, I fail to see the point in this thread then.

Start doing your job and moderate the excessive flaming I guess? Or leave the stuff be. Your choice. There's no easy solution since the administration clearly wants to take the money and keep promoting (a) fraudulent seller(s).

Whatever you choose, be consistent in your decision(s).
213  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Do we want to continue to allow various vendor hate in here? on: September 04, 2013, 01:30:57 AM
So you're saying Theymos (the admin? are there more admins?) is the only person responsible for advertising and setting tags on people?

That's exactly what he's saying, and as far as I know that's no secret.
Yes, there are more admins. You don't need to ask, just check the members list ordered by Position.

Thanks again for the info you both provided. As I said, I had no idea that you couldn't do those things. Maybe the lack of that particular information has partly fanned the flames around here...
214  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Do we want to continue to allow various vendor hate in here? on: September 03, 2013, 10:10:35 AM
I think it all went downhill when the mods seemed to defend BFL instead of slapping the scammer tag on them. then everyone guessed its because of the advertisement vested interest
[...]

We aren't the one sleeping in the bed, you guys are. We just change the sheets occasionally.

I take it you're not going to even bother answering the actual question there. The one being about BFL scammer tag and advertising revenue.

If so, this thread is pointless.

There was a question there? Looks like statements to me.

Please don't act dense. You know perfectly well what I and the OP meant.

Let's do it this way then: "Will the moderators ban BFL from advertising at these forums? Will the moderators hand out SCAMMER tags to BFL employees/accounts?"

You do realize that mods can't actually do either one of those right?

No, I don't realize that as I had no idea what rights the moderators have on this forum. So you're saying Theymos (the admin? are there more admins?) is the only person responsible for advertising and setting tags on people? Thank you for clearing that out. Now we know that you're not to blame for this mess with BFL.

So, I guess you're in a tough spot then. Looks like the forum administration likes money more than integrity. What a surprise...

Then ill take it that all shares found below the diff set arent lost when you use such a high diff.

If you set the diff at X, you won't send any nonces found which are below X in difficulty. But one correct result (diff at X or higher) is worth X shares. The idea behind this is to lessen the impact of fast ASICs on pools. There simply is no need to send all the diff 1 work, when you can send, say, 1 diff 32 (or higher) result and get 32 shares accepted. Also network bandwidth is saved.

So, in essence, all the nonces your ASICs find that have difficulty below X are "wasted", but the valid nonces are also worth more. It will even out over time.
218  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Will You believe YIFU will ship out All the Avalon Chips by end of next week? on: August 10, 2013, 10:19:47 AM
there is currently ~200k chips stuck in custom right at this moment for about 2 weeks now
h

We only have Yifu's word for that, and the value of his word has gone down to Josh levels... don't hold your breath for actual evidence.

Customs dockets are notoriously easy to deliver proof of, so he should easily be held accountable and provide evidence of this.

And yet he provides no evidence nor anything verifiable. Either:

a) he still thinks he's so high and mighty that we should take whatever he says at face value, or
b) there isn't any evidence to begin with.

Either option is bad. Funny how all that talk he was so full of earlier, in the tune of "business done right", was just that... talk. Money really changes people.

Seems just as easy as when I overclocked my Celeron (was it?) like around in 2000 or so. Was as much bang for the buck as these. Forget the chip but it was known as the most overclock for the buck.

That would have been the Celeron 300A. That one overclocked to 450 MHz with just a FSB bus increase from 66 Mhz to 100 MHz.

Old memories...
