121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some common unnoticed errors most newbies and some users make on: August 30, 2020, 01:37:19 AM
1. Failure to note and read pinned/sticky thread
For the sake of clarification, a pinned or sticky thread is a thread that continues to persist and stays above other topics not of it's nature on a board for a long time, even when a new topic is pasted or the edition or comment on an existing post.

Pinned/sticky threads are always displayedo on the upmost part of thread list, it is "pinned" at the top, that is why they are called pinned thread. And hell yeah, mosts of the time, some users seems like they did not even visited these threads even once.

123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have shared about bitcoin on my class on: August 30, 2020, 12:53:26 AM
However, we had a term paper submission and presentation on "Deceptive Advertising". I have selected the freebitco advertisement and had presented their Bait and Switch method to attract newbies to have click on their site.
The advertisement is- "Win $200 bitcoin per hour" which I think totally a deceptive advertising. Through this, I was able to give a little hints about bitcoin among my fellow mates and my teacher. I felt lucky when teacher asked me what bitcoin is actually after my presentation, I gave a short answer to them.
This was really great achievement of me, it may not be to you. I feel lucky if I get a chance to talk about bitcoin among my country men.

Freebitco advertisement is not a deceptive ad. You really can win up to $200 worth of bitcoin on playing and rolling dice on their sites. Well it's a great advertisement strategy. Catchy. But you know that they are legitimate one. It's good to know that you're spreading your knowledge from bitcoin. Keep it up!
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / VALORANT Betting on: August 26, 2020, 08:42:00 AM
We, as gamblers, are also fond in betting in various sports, even eSports, that has its increasing community and popularity from time to time. Considering the biggest Prize pool of the International of DotA2 (that was postponed), people are slowly being fond to gaming (add the fact that the quarantine affected such factor).

Here's a little insights:
So recently, RIOT made VALORANT -- a 5v5, first-person shooter game that was a ripoff of CS:GO and has a little touch of Overwatch, what makes it unique is that each characters has it's own ability (Just like DotA) and of course, had it's unique gameplay that each and every team sets could go in millions of possible strategies and outcome. It's beta testing release made so many views from various valorant twitch streamers such as Pokimane and Hiko. Hence, after its release, many had started downloading and playing Valorant, even streamed it through either Twitch or Facebook. Hence, from time to time, its popularity and users are increasing as well.

If you don't know the game, better check out this youtube video by VALORANT - Protatomonster --- TOP 50 BEST PLAYS IN VALORANT

Now, I've been searching for websites that accepts bets in Valorant's Tournaments[1], and I found three articles containing betting sites that supports the game, but I've only chose the first three they've suggested (as it was also popular in eSports betting)

Here's the articles list:

Here's the list of article's top Valorant betting site indicated correspondingly:

SOME THOUGHTS
Would you consider in betting in Valorant games? Do you think it would be much popular, as betting in Dota2, in the future?

126  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Google Airdrop on: August 25, 2020, 05:23:31 AM
What Happened: Scam Google airdrop and fake medium articles giving 10 000 BTC and 100 000 ETH

Among all of the scam attempts of all scammers around the world, this made me laugh so hard LOL haha. Google would never ever have airdrop AND requires participants to invest. When was the last time an airdrop needed investments?? Airdrop is simply FREE! So funny that they even thought of using such words yet would be ridiculous. And, did even Google had any connections nor interest in crypto world? LOL. They only focused on their service, and engaging in cryptos would even make them do more work.
127  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: License to Sell Bitcoin in Person as Oppose To Online Exchange? on: August 25, 2020, 03:53:07 AM
~

Do you have any proofs linking to such events??

Some countries have their different laws with regards to selling and buying cryptocurreny, though it may sound like they control it, they don't. Some just prefer legal transactions in everything that has something to do with money. But if they would transact in a local place or their Bitcoins was from illegal activities or was used for anything illegal, then it would be a reason for them to get arrested.

And if you are pertaining to online exchanges, there are no rules in most countries that prohibits such actions, as most crypto are transferred with privacy and transparency.

128  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The most common types of cheating in the crypto world on: August 23, 2020, 11:50:48 AM
Greed is one of the reason why many people find a way just to scam money or easy money by doing those things. I know you have good intention to warn people with these ways to cheat or abuse the system

Nowadays, there a lot of scams that are disguised as a platform, business, etc. I dunno maybe because of hunger or greed that's why they do that. During pandemic, sad to say but there are also a lot of people that have been scammed due to lack of knowledge.  We should be responsible for our loss because we should check first every single detail if ever that some of these people try to trick us.

129  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Basic things that you need to know before starting in trading on: August 23, 2020, 11:30:00 AM
What I have learned during my short trading career is that while trading, you don't need to rush selling your cryptocurrency every time you see price going down. And ending daily trading with a minus or with 0 profit is not a bad sign. Don't be desperate with a bad trade and don't sell 100% of your holding just because you wish to exit with minimum loss. Remember, tomorrow will be a different price. If it goes up - you might get a profit, if it goes down, you can grow your amount holding by re-buying.

I agree with you. Trading requires a lot of patience, you shouldn't panic if the price goes down just hold it and wait for the perfect time to sell it. Before, bitcoin goes up to 1 million and then drops up to 300k. As you can see, bitcoin's price is not stable so, maybe tomorrow the price will be on its highest peak, we aren't sure.
Another thing is, in trading there are some patterns like every end of the month (pay day) the price goes up .
130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit my job to do full-time crypto-trading. Made 12 BTC profit last month on: August 23, 2020, 11:04:47 AM
Well all i can say is that you made a risky decision if you quit your regular job and do full time trading, it is all because in trading you cannot earn everyday there are some times that you an also lose on it, you are lucky if you earn in trading every now and then with the huge amount of profit, it is more safe to do both regular job and crypto trading, however it is all up to your own decision if you are comportable on trading then be it.

I prefer doing both, working and at the same time, having a part time in trading. Well, he is brave enough to quit his job and be a full time trader but for me, better if we choose both. In trading, you will not gain everyday, there will be some time that you will have a loss. So, I think it is a great idea if we have a permanent job and an alternative source of income.
131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. on: August 23, 2020, 10:43:17 AM
* Number of participants
*The rank of participants
*Length of the campaign
*Payment structure for different ranks

This one should be considered when joining a paid signature campaigns but before that you must build your reputation first. Having negative trust may affect your application and will result for not getting accepted. Make sure you create quality posts for you to get accepted in a campaign. Btw, some of the campaigns do not announce how long will it last.

https://www.publish0x.com/boyka/coronacoin-breaking-news-lead-developer-exit-scammed-xkqmjr?a=l9avrPVaG1&tid=scam

133  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Scammers BTC addresses at iba pa on: August 23, 2020, 09:32:13 AM

134  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: August 23, 2020, 09:14:12 AM
In the beginning, my goal of joining the forum was to get money only, but after a while I found that I needed to learn and know that I could not get the money, so my main goal was to learn and provide assistance to everyone in addition to obtaining money

Yes, you should first explore how the forum works, if you think you already have enough knowledge then go, join different campaigns or whatever you like. You can still earn while learning just make sure that all informations that you will provide are correct. Much better if you will rank up because it has a lot of great opportunities when joining campaigns.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Importance of Bitcoin during the Pandemic on: August 23, 2020, 09:00:56 AM
Even before the Pandemic strikes the world, Bitcoins importance to people who knew its value and trust its usage is incomparable. The good thing is,  it is more useful now not just for online payments and securing funds but most of all, a great platform to work, earn and invest. As you had been said, thousands of people losts their jobs, and yes, bitcoin industry can really help us sustain our needs in ways that we couldn't imagine. We just need to be patient as we work along and trust this blockchain industry.

How can bitcoin help people who lost their jobs during the global pandemic? To earn on cryptocurrency, you need to stay in this area for at least a year to understand how it works and how you can earn it. Rather, people will thoughtlessly start buying and selling bitcoin and lose their last savings.

Bitcoin is an alternative money aside from our currency. And no, it is not all about buying and selling bitcoin. There are many ways to earn it and you should look out for that. It only takes a few months to learn about cryptocurrency.

It is not that hard for a person that is willing to learn and earn.

136  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Loophole? on: August 23, 2020, 08:40:32 AM
Update: still seeing a lot of advertisements using the same guy Carlos Dominguez III from different facebook accounts, I reported some them already.

I'm just curious, was it because I click a link before, so I keep seeing more ads like that?
How to completely stop seeing these ads?

Yep.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam victims on: August 23, 2020, 08:27:13 AM
Do you know of any resources to help victims of crypto scams recover their losses?

I was a victim of one made by coinkast.io where they had me pay more money to release my funds and then they kept adding additional fees... so basically I lost $100k+ and I need to recover it someone especially since much of that were loans I took out.

Any help or links to agencies that can help would be appreciated...

Thank you in advance

That's sad. Some sites are disguised as exchange, casino, etc. The possibilty that you can recover your funds is very little. Next time, do not trust these kind of sites. Legit sites will only deduct the transaction fee from your funds and if ever that it doesn't meetthe amount needed then that's the time to deposit some cash and withdraw it.

Didn't you notice that it is already a scam the moment that they kept adding additional fees? Don't let yourself be fooled when you encountered some of these sites again.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for thesis? on: August 23, 2020, 07:50:59 AM
Could it be possible for a bitcoin to become a thesis? I mean its a way of spreading awareness of btc. What do you think?

Maybe it is possible but there are many loopholes and questions that can't be answered if you are going to make a thesis about it. Someone I know tried to defend it in our panel and in the beginning the question was who is satoshi nakamoto? you can't just answer that he is the mysterious founder of bitcoin because thesis doesn't accept this mysterious kind of answer.
Though I saw some thesis regarding bitcoin but its arguments should be solid enough to fulfill the purpose of the paper.
139  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bangko Sental ng Pilipinas on Crypto adoption on: August 23, 2020, 07:16:33 AM

Quote
“On cryptocurrencies, we do not see it significantly affecting the present demand for physical currencies,” Diokno said. “Cryptocurrency for us has always been beyond the asset itself, but more on the blockchain technology that underpins it. Blockchain continues to elicit interest around revolutionizing the delivery of financial services by providing an efficient, secure, and robust means of payment.”

The Philippines is the latest country to announce central bank digital currency research. However several governments around the world have expressed interest in launching a central bank digital currency to reduce costs and optimize efficiency when it comes to banking and finance. At the moment, China appears to be the country with a large economy to launch a central bank digital currency.

140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and crypto currencies are getting dangerous on: August 23, 2020, 06:53:56 AM
I noticed how every exchange now enforces KYC on every individual that registers on their site, also the global governments/exchanges tracking bitcoin users and monitoring how they spend their bitcoins with the advanced visuals tools that’s out there, I believe if this stays like this and more and more companies start to enforce kyc on it customers, we will lose our freedom, people think bitcoin is the freedom but no it’s aint I believe it’s the most invasive surveillance mechanism ever, we can’t even use mixers anymore it’s basically doesn’t work because at the end of the day it’ll leave a trace no matter what you do, this is heading towards a solitary environmental and it’s not a good idea at all. Lets think twice and focus on our freedom, privacy and future.
If you trade on a centralized exchange, then you must confirm your KYC data. KYC data is needed by the centralized exchange to find out and verify user data. And we know that KYC can be misused by irresponsible individuals. That's what KYC lacks.

And that is why people are actually scared of putting their personal information on the internet or in the hand of these centralized exchanges. There are a lot of options out there that don't require KYCs, why do it in a centralized exchange when you can do it in a decentralized exchange? It is not the lacking of KYC, it is the downside of using one.

Digital world is not that safe for us to provide our own information.
I know that we all seek for anonymity when we chose to join the cryptoworld but not all exchange requires KYC. Though putting your data may have a small risk in your private life. If you worry about that , remember that you are still free to choose exchange that has no kyc requirement. Your identity is your life.
