I don't think a coin that has a yak in it's logo can ever reach mainstream acceptance. Maybe as a joke coin, but certainly not as a serious contender in the crypto universe. I would put it on the same level as BBQ Coin, except that BQC was the original joke coin, so YAC is actually inferior to BQC.
There are official flags (of organizations and state regions) with animals on them, why it is not "serious" for cryptocoins? |

Doubt YAC has much of a future. Was a few days of nostalgic fun for CPU miners but, other than as a penny stock on exchanges, it has no useful role in commerce that can't be filled by BTC, LTC, or any of the million other alt coins
And what about fast transactions? |

It needs more buyers. I totally doubt all people who trade on Vircurex, BTC-e and Cryptonit have Bter account as well or would be willing to mess with one more exchange just to get some YAC. Many traders might not even know YAC exists. At least CNC seemed to be much weaker coin comparing to YAC, but it was added to BTC-e and Vircurex fast. Why are they not interested in yac? Maybe they look into "agreement" on bter and beware... |

nope, because all those other crapcoins hold the 'value' of LTC down. except for other settings these coins are just copycats. maybe except YAC.
And why would YAC be special? as long as its not possible to mine with gpu it is something different because not everyone has a botnet or is hosting amazon servers. so it is different to ltc in a simple way but at least it is something. take all other scrypt coins. they are allways the same except for block rewards und time between blocks. And also it is very fast. If it is introduced on multiple exchanges, you can use it for arbitration very effectively. |

Guys I went to sleep and when I wake up I found you just left it to .0006! Oh man, come on!! Let's put this up to .001 again!  Yacoin early miners have the weakest hand ever in the history of crypto-currencies. That was a quite pathetic and very amateur pumping, and they liquidated most of their early mover advantage for peanuts shells. They even managed to drop the price lower than the cheapest OTC price ever. Very entertaining panic demonstration. Anyway, now that early adopters are done peeing in their pants, and the coins moved to stronger hands, we can start seeing real growth for that one-of-a-kind CPU only cryptocoin. Expect the exchange rate to make a major rally once people understand that the price already hit the bottom, and YAC isn't going away. Soooo, I'm an early miner, but I understand that if I sell all my coins now, I'll get near $1000. It is rather small sum. But maybe many of these panic sellers are people who need any amount of money "just now", no matter how many - 10, 100, 1000 dollars. But it is good in my opinion - good cryptocurrencies need strong hands (not like CNC\FTC). |

Perfectly fair, the coin is only 4 days old and it came out of the blue. We'll see how it withstands the test of time. Yes, it's fair, just wanted to pay your attention to this. And it is sad that bter didn't mention any pros of yac - only cons. |

Agreement: YAC is a very new crypto-currency hasn't been proved safe enough from double spend attacks. Although the possibility is low, it might have backholes, bugs in it's source codes. It's risky to support the new crypto-currency YAC on an exchange platform. We have isolated YAC exchange platform on new servers to protect other crypto-currencies. Noticed one interesting thing in cpuminer.
With 24 threads on my 24-core server I had near 140 KH. With 48 threads - 190 KH, with 72 - 205 KH. I didn't see such behavior with scrypt, so...need to investigate that. Anyway, try to double your thread number and check if hashrate is really growing. Maybe it depends also on RAM speed, etc.
