feedbacks are always good It's awesome that such applications are created, and it's normal that some changes should be applied basing on feedbacks.

Hi community, I'm starting Datacoin bounties thread here. Let's adopt this unique currency to everyone's use together! Anyone who wants to donate can add their donations to any bounty or offer new ones! First pool: 600 Datacoins done! Second and third pool : 300 Datacoins for each done! Datacoin services and applications: from 100 to 500 Datacoins (depends on its importance - can be discussed) Accept Datacoin: 50-200 Datacoins (depending on resource size) Datacoin promotion: 50-200 Datacoins Some bounties to be added later Those who want to donate: there is address DKhvvp18YGfTyo7Zh5ZcHoWrfUU2jwjWx8for donations, already listed on site. Now it has near 1K datacoins.

You could have another giveaway for businesses that are willing to accept DTC as payment for their products, that would get the word out more and I know someone just did that with quark and as you can see the price is at a record high.
Make it so that more people know about DTC, get it on cryptsy, have converters online so people have easy access for converting DTC to BTC to see the amount it's worth.
Make data coin unique by having duel miners for a small amount of BTC combined with DTC so people are attracted to the new coin and get a small amount of BTC from their mining.
I hope these ideas help I have several more if you have any questions about the ones above let me know.
thanks

Great ideas!! Datacoins sent

Can someone explain this to me:
Datacoin allows anyone to place entire files permanently in its blockchain - so how long until someone uploads illegal material and then everyone who runs a Datacoin node can be arrested?
I answered this questions a lot of times. Firstly, all coins that support messages and small data can contain such content - Namecoin for example. Secondly, files stored in blockchain are not just files on your harddrive - they're turned into blobs and encrypted into blockchain. You need special soft (wallet) to get these files, so it cannot be easily proved that you have some illegal content. I can write a program that takes definite bytes from Windows common files and writes them to file '1.jpg'. This program won't contain any such content, but if you run it, you can get illegal picture from windows common files. So do you think that all Windows users can be arrested in such a way?

Did anyone happen to find a compatible linux port of the jhPrimeminer source working for datacoin?
Mumus told that he will implement some fixes to current Linux port of jhPrimeminer and release build instructions for it shortly.
do you know how to compile it under linux ubuntu?
Current version (in OP) is only for MS VS, but mumus said that he'll try today to add this DTC code to linux port of primeminer.
So what does this allow? Multiple computers to mine a single block via getwork?
Yep, just wallet on one computer and miners on all others.
but at least is more easy to mine in comparison to primecoin right?
Yes, difficulty is less. DTC - 9.68422669 , XPM - 9.99257505 . Remember that difficulty is not linear, so difference is rather big.
it's cpu only? can still be solo mined?
CPU only. Yes, it can, but now you need either powerful computer\cluster, or to be lucky. See threads about external miner, optimized miner, etc.
Any info about pools?? Waiting for them while solomining at 500 primes per sec hihi This miner is one more step to pools. As I promised, when we have any working pool (even in beta mode), I'll announce that immediately.
Unified instruction about building this miner both under Linux\Windows will be released soon.
A lot of good news and DTC applications will be released this week But this one was a surprise, really.

Guys, anyone noticed such thing? WTF?!

Hi community, I'm glad to say that mumus released his version of jhPrimeminer there: https://github.com/hg5fm/jhPrimeminerYes, the hg5fm is my repo and of course you can use the miner and the code freely. MrMagic gave us this link and additional info about mining: The only changes I had to make were adding transaction.h and transaction.cpp to the project and setting useGetBlockTemplate = false. I compiled using x64-AVX in Visual Studio 2012 Express.
To start mining you need to open the debug console on your server wallet and put "setgenerate true 0". Now you can point your miner at the wallet and start mining.
I tested on testnet with a few PCs and watched the mined blocks roll in. I have been running on mainnet on all my PCs for about 24 hours and I mined one block so far. So now you don't need to have separate wallet on each mining machine, and it is big step ahead to getting pools up and running! Many thanks to Mumus! Edit: This code was originally written and forked from the repository of jh00 (the owner of ypool.net). <...> My DTC address is: DUEXtM7PGck5rLWmVPo8CTPSrRHXiv5UGW

I think you can point jhProtominer at Datacoin-qt, not sure.
If anyone wants to try:
Help -> Debug console -> Console and type in: setgenerate true 0
Then point the miner at the ip:port.
Will test aswell soon

I tried to point jhProtominer at a local datacoind without luck. I am trying all this stuff on linux CLI, and don't have a QT wallet built yet as I am on a mac. All the versions of jhProtominer that I found are trying to use the "x.pushthrough(xpt) protocol" , I thought DTC required the getwork method now? just now - yes, only getwork. Would that mean that a whole new miner has to be built or....? No, the first bitcoin pool miners were made with getwork. But i am pretty sure we can use a x.pushthrough proxy for mining. More efficent, and i am looking into 'getblocktemplate' instead of getwork. It is more easier to use, and provides more information. I found a jhPrimeminer source that can be used to mine datacoins. https://github.com/hg5fm/jhPrimeminer. The only changes I had to make were adding transaction.h and transaction.cpp to the project and setting useGetBlockTemplate = false. Cool!! Do you know who owns this repo?

Announcing krypte.net BETAA datacoin service for uploading/downloading data from the blockchain. _ _ _ | | | | | | | | ___ __ _ _ _ __ | |_ ___ _ __ ___| |_ | |/ / '__| | | | '_ \| __/ _ \ | '_ \ / _ \ __| | <| | | |_| | |_) | || __/_| | | | __/ |_ |_|\_\_| \__, | .__/ \__\___(_)_| |_|\___|\__| __/ | | |___/|_|

This service is still in beta, I will publicly announce it on other forums/threads when ready, meanwhile please help me test it. - Register an account (mail address required)
- If you want to get data from the blockchain you just need the transaction id.
- If you want to send data (128K max) you need funds for the datacoin fee (0.05 per kilobyte plus 0.05 service fee per download), in order to fund your account, go to Account information and take note of your address, then go to the Datacoin client and just send some funds to that new address.
You can help build the service by reporting the problems you face but also asking for new features. You can always withdraw your funds just sending your coins to your own address (widthdraw fee is 0.01). Just like an online wallet. I have started this service with just 10 DTC from a giveaway by bidji29 , so if you want to support further development send DTC to DLjcy3vu8KhMGbqbEtRcrGQUEweuMpiZqs the funds there will only be used to help develop/maintain the site. Bumping my post, I would like more feedback on the current features. I am planning to add transaction history today or tomorrow and working on a couple new nice features. BTW, it's great to have an active developer. Having read the Q&A from oocook5u, I realize there is an education work that must be done to make people understand the different nature of this coin, first of all TX fee will be the main source of coins for miners (if difficulty keeps going up). So it is important to build services for people to easily spend coins. , I understand it's very important to make people spend it's coins to store data on the blockchain. I am also thinking about expanding my service to other alts in order for people without Datacoins to be able to put data into the blockchain without going through an exchange. EDIT: PM me if you have problems with the registration process, I have seen a couple of undeliverable mails on the site. could you please make separate thread for it? I suggest that it will attract more attention

Lol the market cap has grown $300,000 in the last 30 minutes.
yeah - exchange rate returned to ~0.001 BTC from 0.0007. I'm happy that DTC didn't fall a lot comparing to mant other altcoins, and recovers soon.
