Any CP in the blockchain yet? There probably is, even if it's encrypted. You'd never know, and you'd be distributing it to the scum of the earth.
Copypasting my old post here: It's hard to prove. If you have file "1.jpg" stored in /home/user/pictures which contains illegal picture - it is "storing of content". But if you have blockchain with encrypted picture which could be picked from it only with help of special software... Uh, I can write a program that will get 128 kilobytes of symbols from Windows system common files, and - bah! - it is illegal content! So ALL users of this Windows version can be blamed.Edited: and yes, if you are afraid, you can store blockchain in encrypted virtual machine or VPS. |

Hi all, I'm starting Datacoin Logo contest. Datacoin is a very promising cryptocurrency which primary idea is creating decentralized data storage. So everyone can post some small (encrypted if you want) files or links to blockchain, so it can be stored forever. It has transaction fees and PoW, and developer is actively creating applications for coin. You can read more about it in main thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.0 . I'm not developer  but I like idea of this coin very much. So I want good logo to be created for it, I'll talk to developer and he will choose one of the variants suggested in this thread. Yes, I confirm that, fast and pretty trade . Price was so low because it was my first DTC trade (needed some money urgently) - next trades will be at higher prices That was way way low, hope that doesn't turn out like the BTC pizza thing. These are getting harder to mine by the hour my 8 machines have nothing in the last couple of hours and block rewards are getting lower. Let it turn out into BTC pizza thing - I really want this coin to be solid and high-priced! If so, I'll be a part of history  anyway, I have more DTC, but if I could pay VPS providers with DTC just now... (hopefully it will be reality in some time) |

As a concept at least, I think this coin will be pretty cool when there are tools for attaching/retrieving/browsing files all built in to the client. if I understood the developer's ideas You can start with senddata RPC method that is available now in non-hp version of software. But anyway it is very good coin concept, its code is open, and if he doesn't answer in some days - we can continue developing. There is a lot inherited from PrimeCoin, so development can be parallel. |

It is very good that info could be added to blockchain in very simple way (just bash script). So, for example, we need little bash script to get all magnet links from Pirate Bay and but all of them into blockchain (of course in multiple blocks), etc etc etc. No complex app is needed for that |

the point is its a flaw in the coin, people can do such a thing and by putting coins on an exchange/webwallet increases centralization
Just remember that it is not 'just coin', it is storage - look into OP post, he positions storage as main purpose of the coin. If you want to support decentralized storage - this coin is a good choice, because you can get some profit from giving for rent your HDD. What is another way to create decentralized storage except storing rather large pieces of data on independent computers? |

Hmmmmm... i has trying to use cgminer No problem... no way for cgminer, it is XPM algo used here @ahmed_bodi: and what is the purpose of such spamming? People without big HDDs can keep their money in online or exchange wallets. And people who have profit from this coin can simply buy HDD. If you spend $100 (0.2 BTC right now  ) you can buy storage enough for 10 years. |

and what do you prove with that? OK, I have several servers, and several TBs won't be a problem (even on my home computer) - it will be enough for years. Why? I think that *500 GB per year* is very rough, and really it will be much smaller - 100-200 GB in first year. I think that it's not a big problem for 2-3 TB HDDs, and yes, remember that it is not just coin - it is storage. |
