So three charts together. (3rd chart has less little blocks than 2nd - just noticed it, can add blocks later)

Dependency of blocks generation speed on time

Dependency of difficulty on blocks number

Dependency of difficulty on time

Graph of blocks generation rate (now near 2 per minute)

That's a great graph! How/where were you able to generate it?

Just a 5-minutes PERL script and excel Smiley Most time takes getting info via RPC, near 30 minutes for getting all info (perl just sends messages to console and parses results). Now I'm creating such graph for difficulty, it'll be ready in ~10 minutes - you'll see amazing growth during last blocks

I think that add a txt  submit button in client for miner.
You can set up a site collect these client messages.
Thanks

It is something like 'twidder' idea https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=338480.msg3642029#msg3642029
coins sent!

I have about 100 machines ready to mine datacoin but what miner to use??

(its all ubuntu 12.04)

You should build it with instructions like
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=259022.0
you only need to replace primecoin links with datacoin, all other actions - the same (build gmp, build datacoind). If all machines have the same system and architecture, you can compile daemon only on one of them, and just copy datacoind and config folder to all of them.

sssshhh 100 machines ...yikes i am getting zero coins as it is. Don't do it, bad idea go to prime or quark Smiley

Maybe there are 100 machines with 2 cores on each? Smiley I was mining with 10-20-25 32-CPU amazon instances for some time, and I cannot say that it gave me very great amount of coins (like 20-30-50%  Grin ), also I sold some of them to pay bills

edited: there are keywords for this guide in OP post, so I didn't reveal something

I am wondering if it is possible to create a client that don't do hashing, just for receive, send & get transaction update? This type of client do not contribute to the chain but will be very light & do not keep transaction data. Good for people who do not mine & just want to make transactions with the coins they own or check how much coins they have, without having to wait for blockchain update.

Regards,
Simon Sim

Every client contributes to the chain when it sends transactions. And idea of this coin is to provide storage... don't think that it is good thought to not to store even part of blockchain on computers.

The way I look at it, is that someone may just want to make a transaction or check status. He/she may not into digital coins itself, maybe an investor or something. He/she may not want to wait for the chain update. Also such client is very light, maybe can install into smart phones, if coded in java or some mobile phone language.

Regards

I understand you. So I think that anyone who has enough skill in smartphone programming can rewrite parts of initial code to java etc, and use smartphone as front-end - no hundreds GB of data, only interface. Back-end will be installed on some server (cluster of servers) that have synchronized blockchain. But it needs a lot of work: it will be something like online wallet, but even more difficult.

any news on the new wallet with the tools built in?

Still no. I tried to build QT for windows and to make some changes, but failed  while building - some dependency problems, will try to resolve it Grin
But keep in mind that users generally don't need most of that tools in their wallets! It's not 'messaging' system, and for end users of wallet this storage will be 'invisible'. We (all of us, not only OP) can create applications for using this storage - it is pretty simple with his scripts (and even without them). Or we can take existing applications and add redefine several methods of data saving (saveToFile = sendData, etc  Cheesy )

Datacoin should be presented to wide Chinese audience, they always worry about Internet censorship, so storage feature of this coin may interest Chinese. If you translate OP post in Datacoin topic and post it into Chinese section, you'll get a reward in Datacoins!  Smiley
Hi, please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=342713.msg3670353#msg3670353
My DataCoin address is DP3btUHEcmsjsyNYv6Ked1z2V9RfVrcrAF

hey, thanks a lot! I'll send you several hundreds in a hour or two.
Chinese should understand the unique feature of Datacoin - it's not just another coin that copies XPM, it adds very interesting possibilities for developers of anonymous soft.

datacoins sent to you Smiley

and what if someone upload any pedo-porno material in it ? Does the coin die because of the controversial data it contains ? I like freedom of data storage but i dont want that

Here is answer from oocook5u - I asked him this question a day ago in PM

----

About illegal content ... I agree with you and I don't consider this as a problem. There are two points about 'illegal content':

1. the definition of 'illegal content' depends on country.
2. any block chain can contain data in some forms. It is possible (but not very convenient) to put a picture inside bitcoin blockchain.
