Hello,
Why dont you add NeoScrypt Algo on Whattomine list ?

No idea where do you want it, but its been on GPU page for ages now.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 24, 2018, 04:08:54 PM
Hello,

It would be great to have :

- On the coin page : All the stats of every altcoins in a table with possibility of filtering by algo etc.. (We are forced to clic on every icons to access details)
- On the coin page : Display which algo is linked to the altcoin name will be great.
- On the main gpu/asics page : There is some altcoins missing, i don't know why (Exemple LUX is not on the gpu list but it's a altcoin possible to mining.)

Thanks !

Not sure what is coin page, but you named it singular so it cant have details about other coins.
You have name to algo info on calculators.json
Not every algo form is up on main page. Not yet.

@bluepr0
Getting data from pools or block explorers, charts no idea, not suing them.

@Phash2k
I dont know any calculators with cpu coins.

@DarkDrake
Yup

@Vladlenius
I had to keep the name short, hope to make it more expressive after layout update.
Both are in BTC and both are over 24h period of mining. First one is using current estimated_rewards, the second using estimated_rewards_24

Could you guys bring up some kind of explorer api with all algos difficulties + block height listed?

Someone was supposed to get back to me with that info, but that weeks ago.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 19, 2018, 12:54:40 PM
Yes, eth and btc are base coins, their profitability is always 100%

@manicminer3018
Everything is calculated already

@Kasparie
Its enough to call any endpoint every 3 minutes.
80rpm is limit shared for all endpoints per IP.

If coin is listed on /coins or /asic pages then I dont think you really need to call its singular endpoint.
Unless you want to tweak data in some way like difficulty or echange_rate.

Profitability is a percentage of RevenueBTC divided by main coin RevenueBTC - eth or btc.
Just a percentage stat to show you how certain coin fares compared to main coin. No need to do anything about it from json perspective.

Lagging is set when the stats are not updated for more than 1 hour. Also marked by label and yellow background on UI.
Testing means that formula for coin is not yet approved and may be incorrect. Will be tested when time allows.
Listed when set to false will mean that coin is not on /coins or /asic pages. Either cause algo is unsupported or simply cause coin has unstable network / other problems.

"pool_fee": "0.000000",  // Any efficiency reduction should go in here. Stales / reject rate, miner offline, pool luck, miner / pool fee.
"estimated_rewards": "0.823975",  // Its for the coin you queried ofc Wink Based on default coin settings if not specified.
"btc_revenue": "0.00032526",
"revenue": "$3.63",  // You can check defaults via UI, though I would encourage to always provide Hashrate, power, cost and fees, even if they are default.
"cost": "$0.79",  // Not sure whats not clear here, it takes the power, cost/kwh and gives you final cost over 24h
"profit": "$2.84",
"status": "Active",
"lagging": false,  // Explained above

Thanks for reply.

>> Its multiplied by 3600 cause the value returned is for an hour of mining. For a day of mining you need 86400.

So "block_Reward" is reward per second of the mining? Because I thought that "block_reward" is released once per "blocktime".

>> Nethash is only an estimate, this value is never real and yes the real mining formula uses difficulty - thats the value relevant to finding a new block.

Ok, didn't know that.

And can I ask how to use values "estimated_rewards" and "estimated_rewards24"? What exactly these values means? (I know that *24 is 24hour estimate, but don't know how to use estimated_rewards at all).

Thanks!

Block_reward is always per block. The formula just needs the number of seconds for which you want to calculate.

Both estimated_rewards and estimated_rewards24 are 24h estimates. The difference is that 24 uses difficulty_average_24 and the other uses current.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 17, 2018, 07:49:48 PM
But this is something I don't understand. In the formula, there is no use for current network hashrate. Only current difficulty is used but from what I thought difficulty isn't dependent on current hashrate.

Also, I don't understand why block_reward is multiplied by 3600. This would mean that block_reward value is represented per/second. But Based on your site I thought it's reward which is pumped to the system every block-time.

I'm still learning a lot of things so maybe I'm completely wrong. Because of that I would like to ask for any help or explanation.

Thanks!

PS: Is there any documentation for json exports?

No docs.

Its multiplied by 3600 cause the value returned is for an hour of mining. For a day of mining you need 86400.
Nethash is only an estimate, this value is never real and yes the real mining formula uses difficulty - thats the value relevant to finding a new block.

Whattomine, why not adding stocks.exchange site ? It will bring some unique coins there.

Personally I think that some kind of filtering of coins is a good thing.
Lets not try to list every coin out there Wink

@Rampager
Well we cant deny knowledge to our great community Smiley
Interesting income schedule, would certaintly stop coin hoppers.

Thank you Smiley

There is any limit on API requests ?

80rpm at the moment. Remember that coin stats are refreshed every 3 minutes.

@fredeq

Amazing website! Thank you great work.

Wanted to ask, with coin JSON info how i calc my profit from this info?
Let say Dash with 1000 Mh/s:
https://whattomine.com/coins/34-dash-x11?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=1000.0&p=0&fee=0.0&cost=0&hcost=0.0&commit=Calculate

How i get my Estimated Rewards table from JSON info? What formula need to run on JSON info?

Using to choose best coins for me for mining.

Thank you.

Just access
https://whattomine.com/coins/34.json?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=1000.0&p=0&fee=0.0&cost=0&hcost=0.0&commit=Calculate

This is my miner on that poll (mining for 24h right now)
https://zen.miningspeed.com/workers/znS4PErcmNn64PLPoj6yTJfiCtCBTP672wg

Can someone please take a look what is wrong?
Thank you all for support!

You are mining ZEN not ZCL there.
Anyway if you still dont get decent returns then please check on miningpoolhub and let us know.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 10, 2018, 08:09:19 PM
Is WhatToMine.com wrong? That is my question Smiley

I have 8 1070 GPU's with combined power of 3600 Sol/s.
Using dstm's miner on several pools I always get less than calculated on whattomine.com. I'm talking about 30-50% less.

Example:
Mined ZCL on zclassic.miningspeed.com for 7 days.
I got in average 0.17 ZCL per day.
But whattomine sad I should get something like 0.29 ZCL in average for that week.

This is -0.12 ZCL less, and that is a big difference right?

How come i have such a big difference?
(WhatToMine calculation was made using $0 electricity cost)

Sounds like a very bad pool luck or unstable rig.
Alternatively you could also check your results here
https://zclassic.miningpoolhub.com/

@MadSciencist
Will do

@ArgoCoin
Listing is always free

I've used your form to request a listing but you don't seem to be getting them.

Not answering all of the emails, request can be rejected without a response.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 09, 2018, 10:08:23 AM
Greetings Fredeq,

I was using the main page on the site that shows profitability for coins based on selected cards/hashrates.  However, I noticed recently that a few popular algorithms are not available on the main page  (XVG Verge - X17, for one), but they could be found on the coins page individually.  This got me digging around for API information so I could include these other algorithms in my search.  It looks like I could use the Calculators.json, and then look up coin stats individually by id number.

Issue 1.  I'm waiting 2 seconds between requests, so that should be 30 rpm.  Still getting banned.

Issue 2.  Am I even allowed to do this?  I read in your policy terms:
"The visitors are forbidden to use the WhatToMine APIs for any application that replicates or attempts to replace the essential user experience of whattomine.com. Abuse of the API service may result in a ban from the whole website."  What would the API be used for if not to make similar functionality?  I know people are using these in multi algo mining bots.  Can you outline what acceptable uses are?

I realize you make money through ads, and need people to visit the site in order to make it profitable for you.  I wouldn't be doing any of this if all the algorithms were supported on the main page.  I don't mind limiting my query to only algorithms not already present on the main page.  I just can't spend the time going through every coin manually that's not present there.

Thanks.

1. There must be a glitch in your code somewhere making multiple requests faster.

2. You are allowed to use the json for scripts and bots, but not to replicate the website.
You can just call calculators.json like once a day to check for new coins. Then call directly the coins that are not listed on the main list.
Thats perfectly sound and you can read each coin stat every 3 minutes, no need to do it more frequently.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 07, 2018, 07:17:26 PM
Dear fredeq,

 Congratulations on your nice effort!

Please consider my improvement proposals:
1) Include some other MAJOR hashing pools except NiceHash (e.g. mining hub pool, zpool, dutch mining, ...)
2) Option to return values in other major currency (e.g. EURO)

Apologies if the above have been addressed but I could not find a way to check so many pages back)

Thank you for your time,
---
Theo

1. I believe there is no API for other multipools.
2. Received this request a couple of times already, but dont consider it high priority for now.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 05, 2018, 09:59:29 PM

So think about the 24h rewards - 23493. 16017 of that is accounted for by the calculator. 2521 is ignored for now because fees can fluctuate. The calculator doesn't account for the other 4955?

Everything is accounted for cause calculation is not based on block_time, only on difficulty.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: January 05, 2018, 07:44:40 PM
I feel like I'm probably missing something basic but I'd love to understand what it is anyways.

The block reward for Ethereum is 2.91 in WTM. The commonly accepted value is 3, but I can see where 2.91 is from because there's a chance to mine the uncle and get the lowered reward. However, those two things combined undervalues the block reward, no? By all accounts, the inclusion of uncle rewards should NOT be considered a penalty - and the reason this isn't properly accounted for is because the block time with or without uncles is the same. What 2.91 really is is 'what is the average reward given that you mine a block or uncle?'. But that figure can't be simply multiplied into the block time.

Working at it from another way, BitInfoCharts - https://bitinfocharts.com/ethereum/ - has a breakdown of the block reward and the rewards over a 24h period. I can't say for sure that these are accurate, but there's a discrepancy of ~7k ETH between 2.91 or 3 * 86400 / block time (16-17k) and the 24h reward listed (23.5k at time of writing). 2400 of that is from fees (which are proving to be not insignificant), but then another 5k are from uncles. Because of this, the average block reward is in excess of 4. It makes sense to use this number (or the 24hr reward number), because we're looking to figure how much a certain hashrate is entitled to of all the eth rewarded given the network hashrate in a continuous function.

What am I missing?

Uncles that are included by real blocks are not having a block_number of their own.
You can confirm this by comparing `2.91 or 3 * 86400 / block time (16-17k)` with first value of 24h rewards `16,017+2521+198.09+4757`

Nice puzzle though Wink

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to exploit the API (via JSON) to extract the desired values according to our config ?
I have GTX 660 & 960 and each time I must inform the Hash and SOL of my CG, which is long.
No way to automate via a script?

Thanks.

PS : Ethash is in SOL/s, not in H/s.. ??!

You should always provide full params for json calls, thats expected. Not sure what exactly are you doing that something is "long"

If anything Equihash might be in sol/s which are just hash/s, same thing.
No idea who came up with the new unit to confuse everyone.

@Atexor
Nice work, will think about something like that Smiley
