1181  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short term investment suggestion on: April 11, 2022, 02:09:55 PM
Your question is pretty much the same with: "Which altcoin will moon in the next few days?" And the answer to that is we don't know.

If you don't have the technical ability to read charts and determine the coin's directional bias on a lower time frame, you're just going to shit your pants in this space. Moreover, "Gambling suggestions" might be a better title.

I am by no means an expert and my tone is a bit of harsh, but generally speaking, it is for your safety.
1182  Economy / Gambling / Re: Online casino. What's the reliability of the technology? on: April 11, 2022, 08:36:44 AM
As far as I'm aware, before the software slot machine game is released to the public, various tests from some of the companies[1] must be completed to confirm that the reported RTP and the RNG in use are correct. Companies such as iTechLab, eCOGRA, SQS, and others have investigated casino games to assure the trustworthiness of such softwares by doing millions or trillions of spins before the game is certified.

Thanks for sharing!

Recently, I've developed an interest in learning more about Blackjack, so I decided to view some of the game's basic premise on YouTube, which led me to find that the game has a lot of different versions to play with, and that results to confusion. So, if you're wondering why I'm interested in playing it, it's because my signature piqued my attention  Cheesy

As a result, having this series of bite-sized video lectures could really help new players fasten their learning curve.
1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins? on: April 11, 2022, 06:58:37 AM
I'd go for Trezor's most recent hardware wallet. Because I'm now having an OLED screen issue with the Ledger Nano S that I purchased less than a year ago; the screen is steadily fading/dimming, making it impossible to see what is being displayed. You must use your phone camera to view it clearly, which is inconvenient while inputting your pin number or signing a transaction.

I'm not sure if this issue actually exists in Trezor, however there are a lot of technical issues with Ledger products these days.
1185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Via wallet from ViaBTC Group on: April 11, 2022, 04:07:17 AM
Someone on Reddit posted an analysis[1] of the Via Wallet, in which he reverse-engineered the application to verify for himself all of the risks associated with using it.

Based on this user's post, I believe there are certain red flags you should be aware of, particularly with relation to their server that maintains your wallet balance, which is quite negative for security.

[...snip]
everyday i wake up and earn money thats what we need in crypto so passive income everyday and coin is growing and growing.
Man! They are speculative assets that people rely on to make ends meet. And the volatility you're seeing stems from a multifaceted factors that are just too complicated for the ordinary investor to comprehend. Moreover, the ups and downs of a specific asset are determined by either in technical or fundamental factors.

This is the reason why a continuous upward movement of an asset does not exist in the first place especially in micro timeframes.
1187  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Any vulnerabilities in changing OLED screen of Ledger Nano S? on: April 10, 2022, 02:22:04 PM
If the device is about 1.5 years old then it is still under warranty, and accordingly, you could ask for a replacement.
Does that mean I need to hard reset the hardware wallet before I surrender the Ledger to them? Or they will just send a new unit without them receiving the faulty product?

As for replacing the screen, if you are skilled enough to do so, I do not see what the vulnerability of such a procedure would be, or I do not know if such a screen can be modified in any way to be malicious. I know there are malicious USB cables to watch out for, and I guess everything is subject to some malicious modification.
If a warranty replacement isn't possible, I'll replace it myself. Judging on some of the YouTube videos, I think replacing an OLED screen is something that I can do? Maybe? as long as you take care not to damage the entire circuit while removing it. And I guess I can keep up with that.
1188  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Any vulnerabilities in changing OLED screen of Ledger Nano S? on: April 10, 2022, 12:28:49 PM
Heya! I'm aware that this question has been asked many times before. Still, I'd need some feedback from others to see if I'm making the right decision in purchasing a 0.91-inch OLED screen[1] to replace my Ledger Nano S, which had faded significantly after 1.5 years of use.

I'm also aware that Ledger developed a countermeasure for the display vulnerability[2] discovered in their old firmware, which they claimed was non-critical, but I still want to make sure that what I'm trying to do is practical and completely safe.

1189  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The best way to know if an address has balance? on: April 09, 2022, 11:50:40 PM
Using an API endpoint is going to be expensive if you are doing this at any kind of scale. It will also likely be less efficient than a self-hosted setup due to network latency + authentication.

+1, especially if the API has its limitations.

If you are pertaining to knowing if AN address (which means only one) then using a simple API would suffice. I only know blockchair's API[1] and it is free if you would only work for 1440 requests per day and you would just use it for your personal or a mini project. And as you know, getting requests and queueing tons of queries to the blockchain requires equipment and money, hence I think there would be no free unless you invest on your own data-processing computers.

1190  Economy / Gambling / Re: Another New Rule On Gambling Adverts Ban Celebrities and Sports Stars on: April 09, 2022, 10:59:01 PM
What impact will be received by gambling companies, both fiat and crypto, because we know that gambling companies use celebrities to boost the popularity of these gambling sites?

The news really is a huge step towards regulating and maintaining that the gamblers are above 18. Knowing the fact that advertisements are often played in any media including television and social media, minors would really get into gambling especially once their favorite personalities promoted it. Hence, if it would be prohibited, it will lessen the exposure of minors in gambling, but not to those who really have the capability to gamble regardless if the personality endorses it or not. It's just a matter of adding up some precautions but not really a prevention.
1191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2FA confusion on: April 09, 2022, 10:33:42 PM
There is one thing I'm trying to catch here, isn't having access to recovery seed neutralised the power of 2FA Authentication? Or this 2FA auth is already imprinted into the recovery seed as well?.

Well basically Recovery Seed is your key, a fail safe system indeed as said by Upgrade00. And 2FA is just another set of security which doesn't really rely on your seed phrase.

To understand it more, here's a basic interpretation:
  • 2FAs are only used for another set of security upon account LOGINs. You can use tons of external applications to use as your 2FA but having it WOULD NOT recover your account.
  • RECOVERY SEEDs, on the other hand, is used as a security upon IMPORTING or RECOVERING your account. There's no application that could breach your Recovery Seed (unless you've stored it electronically and without better security)

Hence, they both have their different use. Recovery seed doesn't neutralizing 2FA, but rather making it safer for your account that the 2FA cannot provide.
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: April 09, 2022, 10:07:56 PM
^^ Yeah, this is the possibility, we know how they robbed Pacman before and this could happen to Haney as well. So Haney should watch out about it and should be wary that the judges might be biased. The best thing for his is to score a knock out so that the judges are not going to be involved. Used his technical skills and make Kambosos not comfortable, this is the only way that Haney will win in this fight, knock out total control of the fight.

Pacman seemed to have really been robbed a win. In this case though, I think it'll be a fair fight. Both are on their prime and are expected to deliver what the fans are looking for. Still, seeing a knock out would be amazing! But maybe not on early rounds. I love the thrill of watching great fighters fighting it out and outwitting each other with their unique styles 😁👊.

I hope it will not happen again, otherwise, the boxing organization might think of banning fights in that country if they see that there's an obvious robbery. We cannot prevent people from thinking that way if Haney would lose via decision as they can always connect it to what happen in the Pacman vs Horn fight, so let's hope that we will see a clean fight.

Haney knows it's possible to happen again, so I'm sure his plans includes knocking out Kambasos so there's no more controversy in the fight and he will be declared a clear winner.

The question is if he can knock out Kambasos.. Not a good reputation for the country to host a boxing event if they will do the same they did to Pacman. Maybe this time it will not happen again as the world is watching closely and they might be banned or sanctioned by the organization, and they don't want that to happen that big boxing events will be banned in this country.

This is a hard fight for Haney as he is outside US, so he has to train hard as Kambasos is not an easy opponent to crack.

Exactly, but he has to train hard if he wants to win. That's the only way to beat Kambasos who is also a very disciplined fighter.

I bet that the Australia is already in the industry's hotlist because of what happened last time with Manny Pacquiao, this time they will look further and make sure that these issues won't happen again in the future because this is also a big fight that many people have been waiting to happen.

And for Haney, it might be best to do his best to crack Kambosos down before the scores will reach to the judges and let them decide. Having a knockout victory is sure cannot be robbed. We know that Haney will also struggle as he is not a knockout stylist but he have to do it even if it's not easy.

Well,  Australia will be in the hotlist more if this event will turn out bad. Why? George Kambosos is from Australia himself and the event place is in his favors. I think issues will arise once the fight would be rigged knowing that it will happen on George's country. Devin Haney is a great fighter with have more K/O% than Kambosos but many would really anticipate Kambosos to win with his recent fights is mostly by Knocked outs compared to Haney that mostly wins unanimously. Still, if Haney managed to make use of Kambosos energy and aggressiveness against him, he still can win.
1193  Economy / Gambling / Re: RTP Rates in Crypto Casinos (The list and the infographic) on: April 09, 2022, 09:42:45 PM

Here is the list of game studios I checked RTP for and their RTP Rates:

  • Play’n Go: 84-96%
  • Push Gaming: 90-96%
  • Nolimit City: 94-96%
  • TrueLab: 92-96%
  • Red Tiger: 90-96%
  • NetEnt: 90-99%
  • Pragmatic Play: 94-96%

This is a great findings but I thought at first after reading 'crypto casinos' that it will include the platforms themselves yet it only is about the crypto-game providers. I'm not sure how this will affect anyone's perspective to the RTPs on the platforms that uses the game providers indicated as the gambling platforms can have high house edge -- lowering the RTPs mentioned above. Since you've already mentioned that the RTP minimum percentage aren't set in Curacao e-gambling licenses while knowing the fact that most platforms that has tons of users tends to have a Curacao license, then the RTPs mentioned still will vary depending on what those platforms announced their House Edge is.

However, knowing the RTPs for each game provider really makes a huge difference on choosing which games to play. I mean, there are really no huge difference as they all have the common 96% RTP, knowing the real RTP rates FROM the casino platforms themselves really would sum up the matter.

@OP, I think that users could understand the title more if it would be "RTP Rates from Slots Crypto-game Providers". Casino is a general term for which is always misused and misinterpreted.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UFC fighters will get their bonus pay by Bitcoin on: April 09, 2022, 09:13:39 PM
In this article, I saw that they have an opportunity to be paid in crypto. I'm not sure how it will affect the overall market but having more people aware that there is a cryptocurrency and more people are going to be exposed to it. Maybe more and more people would be accepting cryptocurrencies as a whole. I doubt people would be opting out of it because it's a great opportunity since it's just their bonus.

Maybe they can wholly accept their cash prize in cryptocurrency rather than just USD in some time.

I don't really get any factors that this move from crypto.com would negatively affect the market nor even the exposure of the cryptocurrency to the mass. I even don't think that using bitcoins for bonuses would even turn the market down as such prizes which is less than a btc cannot drastically pull down the price action of the coin regardless if they sell those way lower than they could have. I also see this as a great opportunity not only for those who would be having the bonuses, but also to those who will fight from the ground up -- knowing that not only they won a belt and a part of the money from UFC, but also gain a bonus in cryptocurrency WHICH is something that only happened now, a win-win situation indeed.

But no, cryptocurrency as the main prize isn't acceptable to some hence wouldn't work as a general price for all. Not everyone takes the volatility of cryptocurrency to be an advantage, as they could have less once they sold it lower than they should have.
1195  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which would be better ? on: April 09, 2022, 08:46:49 PM
Which would be better for gambling casinos or sports games?
I've seen both but sports seem a lot easier to me and casinos are hard for me.
  • What do I need to know to play casino?
  • Which is a more profitable casino or sports game?
  • And Which Platform should take as a newbie gambler, casino or sports?

This is my take:

You don't really need to think that knowing how to pay casino is complex and have more to it, you can just try watching youtube videos on how you could play casino games (as the word 'casino' is a general term for a place of gambling -- which can offer tons of games from blackjack to slots) and have fun with one. If you are pertaining to poker or blackjack in casino, then watch videos or introductions online on how to start with it.

In terms of profits, really depends on how you are good on both. If you are good enough in casino games such as you have enough knowledge in reading and counting cards for blackjack or is good at game sense in poker, then casinos can be more profitable. But if you are onto sports and knowing each and every detail that could affect the factors of winning of a team in a game, then sports betting is your money maker.

Lastly, with the platform to use for a newbie to be a gambler, I think casino is the way to introduce them to gambling. Why? They control their money with their skills or luck while in sports betting they risks their money for chances of winning of the team/others. Hence the way to learn how to control your gambling activities is to know how you behave with your own games.

There's a study[1] that compared between casino gambling and sports gambling had more problem-related-gambling exclusion and Sports betting has a higher rate, therefore making the casino gambling way less problematic in the long run.

1196  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bit555 - Crypto Casino! Find More Unique Games! on: April 08, 2022, 08:11:13 PM
Why is this "Stay Tuned" type of forum thread?
Why OP doesn't publish an announcement when the casino is fully functional?
Such announcement threads simply cannot make me curious or interested in the project.
It actually makes me doubt the quality of the finished website.
So you have a bunch of dead social media pages a Discord server and a Github page.
That's great,but so what?
It's been a few days since your announcement thread, but your Github page is dead and your Instagram account is still standing at 0 posts and 0 followers.
That's some "great" social proof right there. It definitely shows OP's dedication for this project.
I really hope that OP will become more active in this thread and on the Bit555 social media accounts.

As what I've said in my past reply in this thread, a great marketing also includes telling your audience that something exciting is coming as it could be your way to keep your future players active on your activities with how much you already progress as a project and while being an unpublished/unpolished platform. If you cannot be interested in such, then that doesn't mean all wouldn't be interested.

To make this clear why you should expect such platforms whom are still on their development stage would make announcements regardless of being unfinished, I'll tell you an analogy. Imagine opening a coffee business. Would you just announce to your target audience that you just opened and serving just now? Would you get enough audience with the instant opening? Maybe there will be, but less. What if you announce it waaay before you open, would your business have audiences that will already expect your service opening? yes, wayyy more right?

So basically this move is just a marketing strat. Since they are starting (which we all see they don't have any flaws updating their progress here), lets just chill and wait until they finally polished their platform.
1197  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔹1win.pro 🔹| iGaming Platform | Crypto&Fiat | Bonus +500% To the first deposit on: April 08, 2022, 07:46:00 PM
Did anyone tried that Bonus 100 $ or € for app installation already from the link FREEMONEY above their website? I'm more interested to know before registering  Grin

Huh Huh Hope you were reading the thread well. The OP and the platform itself have tons of red flags and questionable features such as not including their license on their website while having tons of mirror links. No one in this forum would even dare risks their information and time for a platform that doesn't even addresses the issues both here in forum and on their telegram channel.

~
thanks for clearing up my question and thanks for bringing up more questions about their website.
~

Well I got another finding with regards to the matter. Seems that the OP is another account of 1win. 1win already registered in the forum way back in 2021 and last posted in feb 12 2022, then 1win.pro was created with a copper member subscription solely to post announcement with images like such the main post here. 1win is I guess their start account not knowing they need to member up hence they created another account for a copper and proper posting (?).

1win - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3421757

Seemed that his last posts are just observing how the forum works. But then again, regardless of how well they do, their transparency will just be their key to have great audiences from the forum.
1198  Economy / Gambling / Re: PRIMEDICE weak self-exclusion system on: April 07, 2022, 12:07:06 AM
Even if he's already been IP blocked but if hes that addicted and with the current number of gambling platforms or sites in the market then it is likely still ending up on the same scenario
on which he would really be depositing once again the repeat the overall the same problem and blaming time with the site that he would get involved with which is basically
and obviously showing that gambling addiction is something that should really took the blame and not the site nor the service that it do gives.

I don't think if you guys knows this but there's a Self-exclusion program from the Curacao Gambling Contract board[1] in which is part of their Responsible Gaming section -- whereas you can fill a form that includes your personal information[2]. I just don't think if filling up such form can be used by online gambling platforms that uses Curacao licenses. If it were to be accepted and the name and any contact information (even the credit card number) can be banned on the back end of any chosen platforms (even all if you would write a personal letter to the platform's support with your self-exclusion form attached). @OP, I think this is the way to self-exclude / ban you from accessing an account from such websites (that obviously gets your data or KYC upon registering/depositing). Nevertheless, most platforms also uses KYC. If they know the IP of the OP and the OP dares to register again, the KYC and the aforementioned form can help recognize the OP.

1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free Gambling Course provided by OnlineGambling on: April 06, 2022, 11:21:19 PM
Maybe they teach to count the cards that came out and calculate the odds? I strongly doubt that for an ordinary player this is a feasible task.
~
~
Real experience is the key.

Familiarizing everything might take for sometime or effort but with some ideas and things provided then it would fasten up the process.Yes, this is good for beginners and card counting which i
do see for it to the hardest thing to get used into it.

Card counting can be practiced with or without experience. You can practice it even if you are just watching other players play or be constantly taught by professionals on to do it. I treat it to be as similar as having a Game Sense in any FPS or strategical games whereas you basically expects possibilities based on either your experience or how the current game is happening. Having a great card counting is having a great advantage towards your game -- the same as what you can get out of having a great game sense.

~

Two days before this, someone created this topic: Video Course of BlackJack for people who want to learn BlackJack -
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5392847.0

Very similar threads or maybe not!! Anyway, I agree with you, blackjack is simple math, at 13-16 you have to decide on another card or hold, and that can be a happy or unlucky decision! In my opinion, blackjack is not a skill-based game, maybe if someone is sure that there are only one or two decks in the game, so someone can count cards, but with multiple decks, it's impossible, literally any card can come at any time! So I don't see the need for any special skill for playing blackjack! Like in all other lucky-based games some strategies can work for some time and if someone is not greedy!

They are similar but I think this post fits and contains more 'discussion' than the first poster. But i somehow disagree with 'blackjack is not a skill-based game', as all games where strategies can be applied requires skills in basics of math (probabilities to be exact). You probably thought that 'skills' are the same as god-given talents. Skills can be made from scratch and be enhanced. And blackjack is a card-game, which as you said requires simple math, and will always require skills in strategies.

Hi guys, general cost is 0.5 btc, with just 0.01 you will receive a commission of 0.0005 btc per month, that is 5%.
Post your offer on my telegram and we can verify good conditions of partnerships, we accept any proposal.
minimum bid is 0.001 btc and maximum is 0.10 btc
My telegram is @cont_luizxind
I am available to clarify any doubts.

I think it's great to see a self-developed gambling platform from the ground up. But offering anyone to be a stakeholder of an unlicensed and unfinished platform is just non-sense. How can they invest on something that promised a commission if the platform they will invest doesn't even have players or traffic and even the database connection is off upon visiting the link? I don't meant to discourage but offering something for such platforms won't really work UNLESS you will work as a developer for a company THAT will obtain/own your work credits and would pay you more monthly by maintaining it. The project developer > investor relationship never works as projects doesn't includes licenses, legal works, and other aspects than the backend/front end development. You need a Company/Investor with> legal / support / marketing / dev teams which has> devs and etc --- kind of administration, not the other way around.
