241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you sell your altcoins ? on: January 11, 2018, 08:49:19 PM
Hello everybody , I am kind of new to this world.
I have made some investments in the altcoin , I think I have some good coins wich I can trust more in my portofolio like PRL , Onions , Dubai Coin and in my opinion Potcoin also.
I also have some coins like Verge , Power Ledger , Dogecoin in wich I dont have that much trust but I really just can't sell them , I'm like afraid that they will rise good and I will regret selling them.
I have some coins on my mind wich I will also like to add to my portofolio but it seems like my only option is to deposit more fiat money and buy them also , because I really can't convince myself to sell any coin Smiley.
Do any have this problem, have this fear of selling altcoins before they rise from the buy price , I really can't give up on anything I buy If it doesnt make a huge jump to generate some profit Smiley

You could as well have said that you have a severe case of FOMO. Fear of Missing Out, that is, missing the opportunities. As you can see, it is so common that it even has an acronym for it, so it happens to everyone more or less.
242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earn crypto currencies. on: January 11, 2018, 08:47:17 PM
Is there any way to earn crypto currencies by offering services?

I am a student and i am new to crypto currencies and i want to bag more and more good cryptos so tell me is there a way to earn different coins by offering them services?

It will be very helpful

Oh well, typically you can join a signature campaign or, if you are fluent in different languages you can try to go for the translation bounties. It is quite competitive for the best coins, but you could start building your portfolio.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like national or international projects for ICOs on: January 11, 2018, 08:45:36 PM
I personally like international projects, and I really like when the team is very multicultural. I think it allows different thought processes and is only a good thing (as long as they are all situated in the same city)

What would you think then of teams that work mostly on-line? Some of the world expert or the most promising people for the project can live in different countries and be the best, right?
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just became a millionaire on: January 10, 2018, 01:06:27 PM
;Di just bought few snovio last year, i forgot about the wallet and was operating my second wallet , i just checked my wallet last week and boom my investment just blew up like 50x..... i began buying more and since then the price has been on the increase

well you can buy a little and holdu

Oh well, there are a few motivational tales of people who "forgot they have invested". I am aware that it is not going to be my case because I look at my coins (my treasssureee) every 10 minutes just to see they are still there LOL
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do you like national or international projects for ICOs on: January 10, 2018, 01:04:45 PM
For those who invest in ICOs, would you consider and advantage to have an international or multicultural team or would you rather invest in a local team? What are the advantages and disadvantages o each for you?

Edited to add conclusions:

Most people prefer international teams because they can gather experience across the world.
Some people like local teams, because they can work together more easily and know each other better.
246  Economy / Economics / Re: Loans too risky? on: January 10, 2018, 01:00:43 PM
I know that people give out loans but what's up with people no returning what they borrowed?? I want to know this because I might give out loans myself and I want to know what to watch out for... I have ~800 BTC at the moment and would it be a bad idea to start loaning? I bought my BTC back in 2010 mid August January(when it was about $0.07 per BTC) and I noticed the price went up a ton! Also what would be some other way to grow my BTC? Any ideas on what I should do?

Something I should have added my friend was doing something you guys call "mining" I am very knew to the bitcoin world even though I have had them for a long time. I bought these bitcoin from him because he needed to sell them, my financial advisor has told me that the longer I wait the more return I would get so I told him hold the account for 5 years and ill see where I am... So last July I had gotten my account back, did a bunch of research then found you guys. So I came here to post a few posts and for everyone skeptical this is the proof https://gyazo.com/ee99cef712e9b72f03a3e8e870c33624

There are some projects out there to facilitate lending, like LendoIt or EthLend. You just need to buy some ethereum and there you go. Now, you can also choose to buy a masternode of DASH or NEM and get some dividends.
247  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: January 10, 2018, 12:58:52 PM
I recently paid for some local tacos using Bitcoin. My friend who was unfamilar with Bitcoin thought it was strange, like I technically didn't pay for them or something. We got into discussing Bitcoin and one of the questions he asked me was:
"Why would you want Bitcoins instead of cash?". For a second I didn't know what to say; then I thought about it and here is what I came up with. Feel free to contribute to this.

1) More security (especially if you are careful).

2) Bitcoins are a potential investment, cash is not. Paper currency only really goes down in value, Bitcoins have a lot of potential to be worth more as time goes on.

3) Fast, worldwide transactions at your fingertips.

4) Similar to #3, but it's a universal currency. It's legal in most countries of the world and you don't need any kind of currency conversion to send money to people in a different country than your own.

To be honest, most people hold Bitcoin for investment and to trade for alts. Bitcoin is not even near mainstream adoption and part of that is due to the miners greed and ridiculous fees.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Hold your keys vs money on exchanges on: January 09, 2018, 03:54:49 PM
I prefer to hold my coins in a desktop or paper wallet sometimes I leave them on exchanges but only if I am trading them currently.

I'd hate see my balance disappear due to another MT Gox  Shocked

But how do you deal with market dips or even the chance of getting your passwords stolen? I am not so sure that an exchange is less safe than my own computer (with and intel processor).
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is the best way to invest? on: January 05, 2018, 04:22:34 PM
Do you think ICO is the best way to invest in?

I going to say something obvious, but if you have a bitcointalk user you want to use it for ICOs promotion. Apart from that, ICOs normally are high risk and normally good reward. It is good if you have common sense and time to research.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Sent Etherum but transaction still not confirmed on: January 05, 2018, 04:19:36 PM
Basically, I sent a transaction from Exchange (A) to Binance, it was based on Ethereum. Earlier I made 2 transaction and they went smoothly. The third time I did exactly the same stuff I did last time and I still haven't received it. "Sorry, we are unable to locate this Transaction Hash" I have been waiting for more than 6 hours now.

This is now the second time it has happened WTF is wrong ?

What does the exchange say? Does the transaction appear as pending or on hold? Have you exceeded your daily limit? Also, sometimes etherscan or similar may have trouble catching some transactions. What have you tried?
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / List of exchange fees and coins on: January 04, 2018, 01:04:30 PM
Hi all, I would like to have a rough idea of the fees for different exchanges and coins. Anyone just throw in here your favourite exchange and the fees charged if you want to contribute. Depending on participation, I may compile a current list to look into.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best exchange for beginner? on: January 04, 2018, 01:01:03 PM
For beginners that wants to buy cheap coins , most recomended by all crypto traders is the etherdelta , that is where coins dumps. For me i like the most are bittrex , binance , coinexchange , hitbtc to trade into and to sell , buy coins. Its easy to sell and trade in those cryptocurrency exchanges as in my experience.

IMO Etherdelta is definetly not for begginers. It is extremely easy to make costly mistakes, it has been recently hacked and there is no reason for it not to happen again, there are multitude of fake tokens so you actually need to know what you are doing...

Oh... and it sucks Grin
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best exchange for beginner? on: January 03, 2018, 10:18:45 PM
I was away from crypto for years and now I'm trying to get back into the game.  I was really STUNNED that there is no exchange, even after many years since bitcoin started, that we can just deposit USD and start exchanging altcoins.  I hope I'm wrong because this would be the single biggest hurdle for altcoins to be widely adopted by general public.  There are just too many hurdles to jump over just to START trading.

For simplicity, I like cryptopia, but I am  not sure that it accepts USD. It is one of most simple to use and has a fun interface. Also features plenty of tokens and "shitcoins" if you want to trade for fun with a few shatosis. However, it lack Stop Loss orders for advanced users.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When the transaction fee problem will be solved? on: January 03, 2018, 10:12:51 PM
The transaction fee in my blockchain wallet is $30 anyone know when it will become normal?
Oh, both BTC and ether are having congestion problems. In the case of bitcoin it can be solved if segwit gets more adoption. The technology exists, is just a question of us users pressing to make things right.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: How many of those "hacks" are really "hacks" on: January 02, 2018, 05:43:26 PM
I noticed an interesting trend: as soon as the capitalization of the crypto currency is growing at a rapid pace - immediately there are reports of "cracking exchanges by hackers." May be. it's just human greed and the owners of the exchanges only pretend that they were hacked?

This could be human greed and they may name it a hack  Ideally I think that such things only demoralize the people to buy/sell from exchanges but nobody is sure that some other website may take their bitcoin and runaway. Thus some solution should be implemented in order to avoid such things happening in future.

This should really be put on minds that we should only store small amounts of funds on any exchangers or any sites that being used to store up out coins because sooner or later there would really be a chance of hacking incident specially when bitcoins price do reach up high which these kind of possibilities isn't really new anymore this is why we should really set safety measures and awareness regarding on our precious coins.

The problem being that you have to buy in the exchanges and they charge a lot for withdrawals. Some of them like Binance are well known for charging hefty fees, so if you are going to hodl short term is not a good idea to withdraw.

257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: The failed ICOs on: January 02, 2018, 05:36:46 PM
Everyone talks about how successful they have been buying shitcoin XYZ for .01 and selling it for 100 and so on, but... is anyone out there bold enough to talk about their greatest mistakes??

I will take a step forward... I bought some viberate in etherdelta for x10 the price because I missed 1 zero. Not an awful lot, but ouch!

I would not said it was a failure, but I regret having throw Ether into Ripio Credit Network ICO instead of buying it at the initial dump at etherdelta. It was actually cheaper there than in the ICO.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GameCredits Speculation on: January 02, 2018, 05:34:48 PM
GameCredits is on its way to the 40 K.  So far making good progress after confirming its bull run on the daily. If it gets closer to 40K line, a pullback is expected. You better research and analysis about it and decide your choice.

A pullback hahaha its just starting. Next time stop trying to make a small profit and hold for a year. Great things are coming in 2018 and game can hit 100$

Oh well, just throwing a number is not much information. Why do you think it can grow in value that much? Sound quite unlikely to have such a growth in a competitive market.

Potential is huge and they are making the right steps.
Tell me why a coin like Xem is 10 billion. Game and mgo will change the industry and in the end the money will go to these kind of blockchain solutions. Speculation will end

I believe that XEM has plenty of value. Smart contracting capability and vibrant developing and marketing team behind it. Not to mention the possibility of staking with is very appreciated by many.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GameCredits Speculation on: January 02, 2018, 05:33:13 PM
So what are your opinions on this? I decided to pick up some coins to hodl.

I have been searching for coins with real usage demands, could we finally have an alt coin with real users?

It is being developed in partnership with Datcroft Games, who themselves have over 12,000,000 users, they are soon launching a mobile store which aims to compete with Google and Apple among others.

Several hundred games already registered for the store.

The coin itself is used to make purchases from the mobile store and in game, which you purchase via credit card, it fills sell orders on exchanges, no need for users to interact with a wallet, the users don't need to know squat about crypto currency.

Lower fees and more regular pay outs than google and apple for developers.

Professional marketing team targeting Asian markets.

I think this is a good moon ticket.

I am not as experienced as you guys in this thread, but for what I read in blogs and others there seems to be fierce competition in the token game arena. Wax, gameflip, gamecredits and a few others being baked now. Looks that merges and losses may occur soon.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Gameflip speculation on: January 01, 2018, 11:58:23 PM
The Gameflip token sale is about to end. It has taken a while but it seems that it will reach a decent ammount of funding and most likely will be a competitor on the gaming arena. Any thoughts?
