161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 20 year old girl with 300 bitcoin, still in a pity situation. on: February 28, 2018, 10:17:01 PM
Met a girl who has been working on a restaurant for mere 200$ a month with some tips in hand. On a conversation she started to elaborate about her life and in between the conversation turned towards cryptocurrency. By the time, she stated she has got 300 bitcoin in her wallet. While the price was around $10 she has given it to her Sister to keep hold of it and keep it secure. Her sister has made use of it and invested into lot of properties. Now when asked about the bitcoin, she shows bare hands. Now she was unable to do anything, and surviving with the $200+ salary per month. Don't you feel pity, it really hurts on hearing the tearful words coming out from her.

This is kind of an interesting story, I thought I had already heard all that could be said about bitcoin and the like but there  is always one more surprise out there.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As a beginner is it too late ? on: February 28, 2018, 10:14:34 PM
Hello,

I'm still learning about crypto currencies and willing to buy some bitcoins. Is it good time to buy?

Thanks

You would need to be very selective if you want to buy right now because many alts and main coins are giving red all over the place. Be careful and choose wisely.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Hold your keys vs money on exchanges on: February 25, 2018, 09:23:18 PM
I am more amenable to saving the coin in my personal wallet, because storing it in exchange in my opinion is too risky, although if we are going to sell coin takes a lot of time to transfer from wallet to exchange but it's all for the security of the coin I have.

But using a wallet you are not able to create a stop-loss order, so all you gain from storing it safely you loosing on the chance of the market suddenly dropping.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Never miss a good ICO bounty again on: February 24, 2018, 05:25:11 PM

Looks like a very convenient thread. I wonder if you could also add some telegram groups and bounty aggregation web pages that we could also use. My main problem at the moment is not missing bounties, is finding the ones I like.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherbots: Decentralised Robot Wars on Ethereum on: February 24, 2018, 05:23:54 PM
Hey guys,

My team just launched https://etherbots.io and you can buy an exclusive presale lootcrate (and redeem it) right now.

It's a decentralised collectible form of Robot Wars, and there are over 2 million unique robots possible to create.

We've hard capped the number of crates from the presale at 3900, and hardcoded in an end date, as we're launching the full game in less than two weeks.

>inb4 shill (yes, it's our game!)
>inb4 copycat (we're the first real, non-ponzi game since Crypto Kitties.)

Hope you guys enjoy. Get them while they're cheap Wink

I won´t be buying until I see a bit more, I don´t mind missing out, but I do encourage you guys to go ahead with this project... and collapse the Eth network again Grin Grin
166  Economy / Economics / Re: The lack of financial education on: February 23, 2018, 01:46:26 PM
It must be admitted that financial education is the lack, compared with other education such as mathematics, social and so the financial education is not more than 5%, but financially is very important that makes us successful in the future.
This is the common problem because in many countries after the college students prefer for the entrance of Engineering and Medical that's the reason why financial education is lacking. Actually, finance is a very vast area and also provides ample of opportunities so need to consider financial education seriously.

I would not say that for my country, many students see a future in management and economics, but that is not really induced at an early stage of their studies.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think this year will be Red? on: February 23, 2018, 01:42:08 PM
Cryptocurrency market has already recover after a huge dump, so it is a clear indication that a new all time high is expected soon. Anyone who say cryptocurrency is dead is trying to manipulate the market price. I think red is just temporary, thing will be better for sure in coming months and experts predicts that 2018 is going to be the best year for cryptocurrency.

I would say that the panorama is at minimun uncertain. It is true that the market is expected to grow, but at the moment is not giving clear signs of it.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polymath Scam: Stay Away! on: February 22, 2018, 12:46:23 PM
I was going to invest on this ICO until I saw that they were asking for a KYC for a simple airdrop. It just did not make sense and there are many ICOs to choose from.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Envion Scam with locked tokens lasts tooo long on: February 22, 2018, 12:43:16 PM
Hi guys, this threat is for those Envion investors who purchased the tokens during ICO with bitcoin and still have them locked in the envion accounts. The following facts are outrageous:

1) There are at least 10,000 of investors who still can not use their envion tokens.

2) Envion is playing an insolent and deceitful game with bringing their tokens to trade on Hitbtc (Envion is selling the tokens to new investors, while ico investors can NOT trade their locked tokens).

3) Envion support team responds within several days with a template message like "you should be patient and wait for the email with instructions to unlock your tokens" and naive investors think it's a very difficult and high volume process, but in fact Envion continues to grow its capitalization by exclusive trading its tokens as described in #3. And this response is lasting for 6 weeks already.

4) The objective attitude to Envion by a giant number of investors can be read in the comments on Medium (for envion's updates and news) and here in the main thread of Envion ico. I should say the attitude has changed from 95% positive to 30-40% positive... and it is within 1 month only. There are even lots of bounty participant complaints about the tokens they have never received.

5) As of now, many investors are eager to see (during a visit) the real working MMU in Germany, some have written many requests to envion sales to purchase MMU and have never heard back.

So don't you think that Envion is not just one of the biggest ico of 2017, but also a biggest scam? How can we influence envion to unlock our tokens as soon as possible?

Envion did not make any sense as business proposition and I am not surprised that it is not treating the investors correctly. I just don´t think is worth keeping those tokens.

170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Do you think this year will be Red? on: February 22, 2018, 12:41:09 PM

Do you have any good reason to believe that the crypto market is going to grow this year? Do you think we may end up in all red? I do not see the growth and happy investing of last years.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is HODLINg still valid to make profits on: February 21, 2018, 08:17:23 PM
Buying and selling depend on your approach because if you make the profit on the investment you made definitely you will sell them but the thing if you find any potential in the market then surely you need to hold them for long-term in order to make more profit on it.

Well you can make profit on short trade too but just make sure you how to read charts or how to use technical analysis so you will know if it's the perfect time to build or not and when to sell or not. But for me Hodlers are always the winner on this game.

I don´t think that hodlers are the ones making the most of the market. A little adjustment from time to time is needed, particularly if the market grows too much in a short time.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best exchange for beginner? on: February 21, 2018, 08:16:29 PM
I started with Bittrex and Cryptopia, both were good trading experiences for me. I would advise against etherdelta really bad interface imo.

Cryptopia is fun but it does not have any sophisticated tools nor orders. You may want to take a look to IDEX, decentralised but reasonabily friendly with the user.
173  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we need regulations? on: February 21, 2018, 08:10:37 PM
its not a question of if we need it but rather when is it coming. The answer is, regulation is approaching fast, there is a lot of regulatory frameworks in the world which already outline these rules. They will be followed and built upon.

The best sectors are those in which the incumbents are able to self-regulate their activities. I think there is at least one initiative in the United Kingdom to have a common framework.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 ETH - should buy alt or hold on to it on: February 18, 2018, 04:06:37 PM

I have seen so many alt coins that were cheaper and I was holding on to ETH thinking  it will pave out. I wish i bought altcoins with it as that would got me some profits.

For e.g

I was watching VERGE xvg recently when it was less than 1 cent. today it is 25 cents. I wish that I had invested in it when My gut  instincts was for it.

Did not want to loose the only ether as i lost my Previous eth in Confido scam. Please advise.

You should first decide what do you expect from the crypto world and what are your personal targets. Then the answer will become self-evident to you. You may want to speculate or wait, win or die or keep balance, etc...
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto-solution to protect wealth on: February 18, 2018, 04:04:53 PM
Helie d’Hautefort and Giuseppe Ballocchi did a research study called  “Overcoming the Notion of a Single Reference Currency: A Currency Basket Approach” and published by the CFA Institue Research Foundation.

«We have argued that a single reference currency is unlikely to serve as a reliable store of value over the long term and thus constitutes a misleading unit of account as well. In extreme cases, it may also fail to function as a medium of exchange for international payments if the family is shut out of the payment system of the country issuing the reference currency.»

Today, they have launched a ICO for a crypto platform to create and trade tokenized currency baskets: GLOBCOIN.

In case you want to read part of the study: https://medium.com/@globcoin_io/preserving-your-global-purchasing-power-12eaff7a8a9b
Full study: https://www.cfapubs.org/doi/pdf/10.2470/rfbr.v2.n3.1
ICO website: www.globcoin.io

There are quite a few projects that offer the tokenization of assets, including the most promising one BankEx protocol. Unless that other brings anything extraordinary to the table, it is redundant.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Community manager as a way of living on: February 18, 2018, 04:01:08 PM
What are the main skill to become a community manager? Can you make your living out of it? Do you have to know how to program, etc.. or is it just PR? Has anyone tried to be a CM?
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Public contracts and repositories as proof of legitimacy on: February 17, 2018, 10:07:07 PM
Does a good Github and a publicly written smart contract give you any assurance regarding the legitimacy of an ICO? How? I am thinking of X-moneta, that aims to base the whole system on smart contracts.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token creation options on: February 17, 2018, 10:04:51 PM
What are the advantages for the token creator of these coins? Ethereum, XEM NEO & Waves all support one form or another of tokenisation.  Have you got experience or know the differences?

What are the advantages of business creation or maybe corporation creation, for example Apple and Microsoft or Toshiba and LG? I think not correct question. Everybody has his own point of view and his vision, and express it through his creations

The question is correct and very clear. If you don´t know what I am asking is probably because you don´t know about the technical side of these coins nor have tried to create a token or contract with them.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 50% Bonus[PREICO] Xmoneta 1st All in One App for Social & Business Communication on: February 17, 2018, 08:51:04 PM

Xmoneta is the world’s first decentralized encrypted messenger for social and business commmunication.

Ethereum-based application allows you to:

* Communicate with your friends,
* Buy goods and book services,
* Hold your money on secure wallet,
* Trade at our market platform,
* Organize your own business.

Hi!, How can the busy times on the ethereum network be addressed by an app that aims to have millions of users? Won´t there be too many transactions?
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Token from Airdrops got value someday? on: February 16, 2018, 08:54:25 PM
I received a lot of tokens from Airdrops, but they haven't any value yet. When will be this tokens got value? in USD I mean?

They surely have some value, but an Airdrop is not really a good way to earn substantial money because these are only intended to provide adoption and liquidity.
