I know it's in beta but I'm not working for you...so until stuff like this is ironed out don't wonder why no one is using it.
There are thousands of people who were able to download Sia and get it working. And on average they have uploaded less than one file each. I'm sorry that you are having troubles, but if you refuse to help us figure out what the issue is, we can't improve your experience. Maybe you should come back in 3 months. The beta is working fine for many people, and we are grateful for all the help that they have given us. We couldn't have gotten this far without the mountains of feedback we've received so far. And some volunteer developers have started making non-trivial contributions to the proejct, which is going to help significantly in the long run. I for one am going to focus on building Sia for the needs of the people who are most excited about it and willing to tolerate all of the turbulence associated with the early stages of the product. They are the users who are most important to me, and they are the ones who will get their feature requests prioritized. I have to somewhat agree with nextgencoin. I have a certification in Computer Networking, specializing in Cisco Systems (Router, Switches, LAN and WAN). I can't even get the wallet to work and so I couldn't mine it, that why I'm focusing on Ethereum and the Eth clones with DAPPS. I've try all in the tutorials, read me's, open ports on my router and machine, and even turn off my firewall. The upnp needs to be added to the wallet, as much as some people will complain of security issues with upnp, but just connecting to the internet is always a chance of a security issue and anyone is naive to think otherwise. The decentralized storage of this project need to be promoted more effectively. I like it's a working model, but that won't matter if people aren't convinced and trust the security factor of it.

Why isnt this coin being taken over by someone?
Alot of coins are, but not XQN?
You would think so. The wallet runs really well. Just needs some development why do not you? I put some buy orders up... any help Would be nice if this got forked and/or some would do a take over and revamp it?

I'm glad to see everyones support, we should have some testnet testing pretty soon We dont wnt to be doing any "do overs". Relaunches are quite the bother most of the times...lol

Awww yeah, bout to get real... Hey Shiftteam, don't forget to put bittrex on the ANN too. Yeah sure. The ANN is a mess though. Our designer will remake it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up EDIT: updated. Regards All good.

We have this one pesky troll that just won't seem to go away.
Elmit, I am no one's 'boss'. Especially not Haitch's. He's someone who is extremely intelligent and helps me out because he's awesome. Hardly my employee. He's a friend of mine, a partner on my projects, and a great help with everything!
Never fear, everyone. Discussion within the core of BURST's future has commenced.
It is no secret that we haven't heard from the main dev since he mentioned personal issues (to the core only, unfortunately.) We will wait a little longer before making decisions, but I have written a 6 page paper with suggestions on changes and re-structuring of the coin. I will not release this information until we have come to a decision on what we think is best. Once the core can decide if it is something we'd like to present to the community, we will do so. Not before.
I'm sure we will come to a reasonable solution here. None of us want anything but a great future for our beloved BURSTcoin.
I believe we need some structure, coordination, and solid roadmap. Among other things. Which is part of the 6 page paper the team is reading and giving suggestions on. So please, don't think that nothing is happening. Things are, maybe not as fast as this hyperactive ADD community we call the crypto community would like, but that's what it is.
Take a deep breath, good. Now let it out. hehe.
On another note, we're looking for great graphics designer for the team, and also, if anyone has any sort of development experience, or some other skill that you believe would benefit the core team, message me or any of the team and let us know! Thanks!
Just a suggestion, maybe make a separate ANN for the Burst Core Team. I feel that would have more positive energy, more frequent updates and what ever else until the main dev is back or decide to call it quits. People kind of lose confidence in a coin if the updates aren't frequent enough. Hope there's a back up plan just in case the main dev exit this coin. Just my suggestion and opinions.

This is absolutely NOT user friendly wallet. Tried to send from GUI wallet, asking password, pressing Send, nothing happens. Tried from native console eth.sendTransaction({from: 'myaddress', to: 'exchange', value: xxx Showing green tx and... nothing happens. This is for linux geeks without a life, not for normal people. My oldest pair of socks is less tired than this complaint. Time for some bleach on them socks...lmfao

Asks for password? You have to unlock your account. Write down the account in the To field and press send. All Ethereum based wallets need to be unlocked before sending a transaction(s). Since the tx is green, it's probably sent and still need confirmation if being sent to an exchange (Usually 750 confirmations, which is rough 3 to 5 hours some times depending on network block times).

Our designer is doing a great job. Soon time for some new graphics and updated info/roadmap and howtos in ANN and on wiki.
Regards
So, any chance of asking Poloniex to list this? How's the progress with Bittrex? Great to hear about the up coming face lift on the ANN and wiki. Any plans on getting a website setup?

Looking to buy some Shift, PM me your offers if you'd like.
Okay, offers have been all over the place. I am offering .0003 per shift. Up to 2 BTC worth. I think .0015 to .002 per SHF is more of a fair price....But your free to set you ideals prices.... I guess the difficulty did spike, it is hard to tell what people will be mining now that they patched the client. If my desktop mined hundreds of them overnight I figured my offer was generous. But, yes I probably won't be getting many offers now. Still buying this is high risk right now, especially not knowing what percentage of the premine the devs will end up with. I will pay 0.00075 per shift. If no one want to sell at that price, so be it. I will just take what I can mine. The genesis block says 250k, no more or less. Anything else, the devs are mining just like the rest of us, if they choose too.

Did I see something somewhere about PoS?
Yes there will be a vote after 2M mined when to switch to POS ethereum also soon going to POS, they sad its a must and not a option, but i dont know if its true btw: SOLO MINERS UPDATE YOUR WALLET TO NEWEST CRITICAL VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFSBetween 2mil and 25mil seems like the sweet spot for distribution, but not more 50mil. That's just my honest opinion to minimize inflation some what.... I agree, think we should mine more then 2m maybe 5-10 duno.... and it would be fair ppl mined platform and distributed by fair mean It think that is strong point on oposing ethereum selfish 98% premine distribution to one group of inside ppl.... I even think if done right Shift could match ethereum in many way! Shift has potential to match or surpass Eth, but that all depends on the community, investors and devs. Only logical reason they needed the ICO was to help push the project via funding, but honestly they should have did a 25% to 50% range of the total amount they got. We'll wait and see how this whole thing pans out.

You guys probably have the same issue: From ETH: The Diff Increase Issue has been identified to a bug in geth, this is now fixed and I've updated to the latest version:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/3jcs5r/code_avg_block_time_vs_difficulty_adjustment/cuoi4op
Diff should go down now. This will be announced soon. We have updated as well. We actually found it before them. New info will be coming soon. THx Crazy that ETH's diff just keeps creeping up, but the overall network hashrate hasn't jump lately and pretty much flat lately.

throttling starts @100°c 78°c isn't a problem. Maybe the chip dies after 10 years, instead of fifteen.
Most gpu's are durable and true they will throttle down to a point, but the fans usually fail when running temps higher that 80+ C. Because at those temps the fans that keep running more than 75% will fail usually prematurely.

It's a single HIS 280x OC 1200Mhz and memory 1700Mhz
LOL, your card will not last long Its a HIS R9 280X iPower IceQ X² Turbo Boost Clock 3GB Working @78º Celsius 78C is a little high, but within proper operating rate. When you get around 82 to 85, start worrying. I stayed with 1050 core at 1500 memory. My temp stay in the 69 to 75 C through the day with no AC.

Mining works, but I just don't get lots of hashes... really don't get it Getting a bit pissed of this. Missing so many coins now. Only have 0.5 coin for 6h of mining with a 280x!!!! A block is 3 SHF and an Uncle is about 2.25 SHF.....If your doing solo mining with one card, you should try the pool..I get 71 MHS for 3x HD 7970/280x cards, so you should be hashing around 22 to 24 MHS....I'm getting blocks every 2 to 4 hours still..... Benchmarking on platform: GPU Preparing DAG... i W1a6r:m0i8n:g4 5u|pg.p.u.m iner0 workLoop 0 #00000000 #00000000 i 16:08:45|gpuminer0 Initialising miner... Creating buffer for header. Creating mining buffer 0 Creating mining buffer 1 Trial 1... 27952709 Trial 2... 27952709 Trial 3... 27837528 Trial 4... 27952709 Trial 5... 27690652 min/mean/max: 27690652/27877261/27952709 H/s inner mean: 18596745 H/s Phoning home to find world ranking... So, I'm hashing @27.9Mhs or 18.5Mhs? It's a single HIS 280x OC 1200Mhz and memory 1700Mhz You get more accurate reading after warm up. Let it run for 30 minutes or so.

Guess EXP can learn from what Ethereum and SHF have made a mistake at; make things more user friendly to the masses. A gui wallet with a daemon running inside it and maybe a gui miner. Also, don't rush it, rather have a polish product than a heap of hot mess. I've mined both ETH and currently SHF, so far the same experience as far as mining goes. Strangely I get 71 MHS with SHF compared to 68 MHS on ETH with 3 HD 7970's. Hopefully DAPPS will be more simple to create in the future.
Couldn't agree more. Hope they take their time. the one with the larger user base will come out on top and for that it all needs to make sense to to the regular folk who will just want to use their hashing power without having to RTFM 17 times. A lot of devs just assume that everyone that mines and/or involved in crypto are IT people, like myself in computer networking. But majority are just people that just know basic computer skills: ie. word, browser, gaming, etc.... What ever crypto can simplify adoption, is transparent in agendas, promotes well with great PR, truly democratic with no censorship, make a solid team and have a useful circulating currency will come on top of things, maybe even surpass BTC and other top digital currencies. We will have a public mining test for anyone that wants to test mining before the launch. So everyone that needs to can learn how to set it up in a non competitive environment and be ready for the actual launch. As we are not ninja launching or instamining, or any of that sort of trickery, we can just have a totally fair launch where everyone that wants to be a part of it has a fair and equal start. Obviously if we do this with public test mining, that would be on a testnet and not be actual coins/tokens. We think it is very important to really include everyone that want to be a part of Expanse. Right on.... Can't wait till this finally gets online...
