161  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: March 09, 2023, 11:13:09 PM
Never consider a loan to invest in btc if it isn't a long term loan and you are not capable of paying back your interest on time because the fall in btc will make your investment go more under debt by devaluation of your asset.
You can invest in many available resources, can go for futures or options during bear season as that would help you to short it and make money with leverage up to 100x (high leverage is never advised, I'm only putting it in front of you as I take max 5x which is still high IMHO).
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you feel when your government make BTC legal? on: March 09, 2023, 10:57:01 PM
Well, I'll not feel much better if they do this because they will first make it centralized from all sides, then they will start charging highest taxes to this asset class and then you will either stop using it or pay them those hefty taxes to keep using it and be a part of crypto. Will you still feel 'great' if what you will pay will be more than what you earn from crypto?
Seeing the present situation, I can guarantee this that we are not earning enough to even satisfy our needs because the bear phase is not done yet and you know that bearish cycle runs longer and bullish phase is less likely to happen now after so many negative news coming in the market.

164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting ready for $25K, How? on: March 03, 2023, 11:23:34 PM
$25200 got touched and that important resistance could not be defeated nearby which is why bears took charge again and sent it back to $23700, but today's fall was inevitably expected considering the BUSD issue and the strength of DXY on the charts. BTC cannot bear with international markets as for few days btc was showing signs of stability but weakness was there and after dollar grew, btc fell down.
165  Economy / Gambling / Re: shame on the stake on: March 03, 2023, 11:14:35 PM
I don't think it is abnormal because I have played on reputed websites which, when the odds go in your favor, stop showing the markets completely by saying 'No markets are available for this game'. I recently lost a won bet I was going to cashout, I was stupid I waited for the final quarter (it was a basketball game) and then, when it reached the final quarter and I was about to cashout, the markets vanished. It happens and we cannot do anything about it.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 03, 2023, 08:51:15 PM
Based on the recent past with Benavidez and the wins by Plant, I don't think it will be an easy win fight for Benavidez and he could also lose to Plant following he used cocaine in his fights before which is against the rule. I'd place a bet on Caleb Plant as he signed this contract and came ahead to fight out, and I believe that passion pays off so if Benavidez loses to Plant, it'll prove that he used to win his matches due to his drug addiction.
167  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun |20% RAKEBACK TO ALL|SLOTS|SPORTS BETTING|70% RAKEBACK RUSH HOUR on: March 03, 2023, 07:22:56 PM

There is no doubt the site has changed a lot since it went live and I wish you great success in future too.  Wink
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will institutional investors kill the four year boom/bust cycle? on: March 02, 2023, 09:15:41 PM
1. Institutional investors are scooping up lots of btc according to the latest analysis. But there is also one fact that they are not selling just because they are diamond hands or whatever you'd call them, there is one more reason that they can't sell it entirely on the market because there is not enough liquidity on which they may dump their coins and they will least likely do it because that will not make them any profits. They are also not doing it because many major institutions are holding big leveraged positions in futures and these institutions are helping them to survive and not lose everything. Because if a retailer or group of retailers lose money, that won't make any impact but a news stating a big name lost their entire capital will surely bring enough chaos to create panic in markets and see a sell-off again.

2. General public will be less interested in btc because institutions are holding a big % of it and will keep the price steady and range-bounded (they can do that for years) and some big wallets will also be bought by these institutions only if they come out with their coins. However, general public's interest in alts will rise due to this because institutions are least interested in altcoins and still today, retailers are moving the alt markets so this is where their money will go.
169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't consider yourself lucky on: March 02, 2023, 08:55:48 PM
Some people came to me back in 2022 asking me to help them out on an exchange saying that they cannot access it because it is restricted in their country. I thought to give it a look as I knew it's a scam, but wanted to understand the complete procedure. He promised to pay me 1% of whatever is found in the account. I logged in.
Now, he asked me to transfer some BTC in the account to pay as a fee to move the funds out (withdrawal), I denied.
He said I must do it because now I have the credentials, so I may move out the money and keep it with me.

He started screaming "you are a scammer, you took the credentials and now not helping me". I asked him to send me the required BTC for the fee, he denied. I understood he's trying to scam me because the exchange he gave me was not even having an SSL certificate, so I asked him to go and look for someone else to scam and he deleted everything, blocked me and left.
170  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: March 02, 2023, 08:15:50 PM
and if there are gamblers who consider gambling to get income or money multipliers, it is a sign that the gambler will lose more money and always odds small opportunities that look certain but are not certain.

Well said.
We should put our emotions aside when gambling, because emotions make us lose more in gambling than any other gesture. The guy fell under his emotions to place a bet on 1.01x odds thinking that he could go all in and make just 1% more to manage money for some luxury he could be wanting, which made him gamble his entire bankroll and in the end, he is left with nothing. Now no luxury nothing, but all he's got is his failure. This is not a lesson but a stupidity committed by that gambler which no one should do in their life if they want to be a sober gambler. Going all in on such small odds is very dangerous and can cost you your entire life savings.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good wallet I can use to store Bitcoin? on: March 02, 2023, 07:10:40 PM
Mycelium - https://wallet.mycelium.com/ (alike electrum, but not to that level)
Green wallet by Blockstream - https://blockstream.com/green/ (comes with multisig shield to help you protect yourself via 2FA)
Electrum - https://electrum.org/#home (lightest and easy to use)

There are various wallets available in the markets but these 3 are the most preferable (based on my opinion of course). You can also use paper wallets to store your btc but in instances where you want them to be stored for long time. Hardware wallets are however the best option, but till you manage some money for it, you may go for these online wallets.
172  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Villagers welcome bitcoin ideas. on: March 02, 2023, 06:54:42 PM
That's really a great project that you have taken in your hands. Knowledge is wisdom and sharing it will never let you go out of it, but will keep increasing while you'll also get revised of those terms every time you teach it to your village friends. It was also a nice gesture to let the money go and instead, help those villagers learn everything one by one as chapters about crypto. Helping others will also help you in some manner in near future and sometimes, when we are talking about something and it gets heard by the right person, you will get yourself taken higher from the level you are at present. Keep spreading the word, it will help more people join the crypto forces. Smiley
173  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sherbet.com 🍭 - #1 Social Casino & Sportsbook - PVP - $500 Deposit Bonus 🤑 on: February 22, 2023, 11:46:23 PM
The reply from ops above mentioned the fact that he stated that VPN is approved on the site but not endorsed, and you can fine that statement in this comment.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5440666.msg61803767#msg61803767

-But the truth is, using VPN in this circumstance is a high risk since it can lead to the lost of an account if you register under a fake identity, once there is kyc demand,  the use of a VPN should be discouraged in that situation.
-The only time one can use a VPN is at a decentralized casino that doesn't require players to go through the process of verifying their identity.
Because of it having high risk that's why I don't gamble huge amount of money to avoid lost of account either asked by KYC or the gambling site doesn't allow people to use VPN when they gamble on their platform. Gambling less money means I won't have a problem with it since it's only a small amount. That's the reason why I don't use VPN in the first place and why I agree with you there.

If a gambler is from a country where gambling is restricted, can he still play on this website if it is available in his country? Or should he use a VPN to connect with the site and use it?
I doubt that the VPN may also trigger some problems like IP address changes (same country but very far counties), kyc as you mentioned, account block for using VPN though it is allowed (if the site owner thinks you are doing something suspicious), etc.
However, using multi-accounts to take advantage of the bonuses should not be done at any cost because that will eventually end up in a loss of your gambling profits and sometimes, entire bankroll that you deposited.

175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: February 22, 2023, 11:32:10 PM
I was actually wondering if there are any restrictions on age as to investing in Bitcoin?

I have not seen any age restrictions to date to own Bitcoin. However, there are some exchanges that do your KYC to know that you are of legal age to trade.

Quote
I read threads where people have constantly introduced Bitcoin to their underaged children (10years below) and I really don't think it's necessary because I feel those kids still have some mental growth  to do and since Bitcoin is a very volatile digital asset, I think children shouldn't be made to go through such stress.

If you share it as a way of knowledge to them, they will learn something new. There is no need to discuss the financial aspects of btc because that will draw the mind of your children to 'gamble' with your money in case they need it but you deny to give it to them, especially the greedy kids need too much care to be kept away from trading aspect of crypto till they become mentally prepared to face that situation.

Quote
Same thing also applies to the elderly as I've also read news of people trying to get some retirees investing their pensions into crypto rather than advising them to relax and enjoy their pension and I really wanted to know if it's wise to get kids and elderly into the crypto industry.

The retired people should take care of their life with the money left with them because in today's world, even your own son may kick you out any day and you will suffer without money. Investing in crypto at that age is for those who have enough left on their hands and want to gift their grandchildren with some crypto later when they grow bigger.
176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading season? on: February 22, 2023, 10:59:36 PM
There aren't seasons but bullish and bearish cycles that come and go. Bullish cycle is when the market keeps going up only with some retracement in place, whereas bearish cycle means long term correction of the bullish market and even more where you will see big crashes be it slow or fast, it depends on how long it takes to bring down the market. However, it has been observed always that bullish cycle does not run for a long time while bearish cycle is never short in period.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pakistan Super League #PSL Discussion Thread on: February 22, 2023, 06:12:48 PM
A thrilling match between multan Sultans and Karachi Kings both team have played exceptionally good but Karachi Kings  got unlucky at the end and they couldn't score in last 4 balls . Excellent balling by the young boy who took wicket of Ben cutting Abbas Afridi is the man who brought this victory for multan Sultan.

These super leagues taking place in specific countries, like Australia (BBL), Dubai IIRC (ILT20), India T20 and PSL and many more have increased the heartbeats of cricket fans because we always keep looking for these leagues to take place and we bet on our favs. PSL had also been made it up to our expectations and the teams have been flawlessly displaying great games with good scores on the board. I hope I enjoy more games like I enjoyed the Sultans vs Kings today. Smiley

Well, considering many people around here do not have English as their native language and they may try to use AI in a reckless way to inflate their participation, there is a good chance some of them could get caught eventually, while developers all around internet work on better solutions for detection.

Would you care to link me to the profile of the user you are talking about, I am curious and I would like to give a look to their posts. Thank you in advance.

One example in this thread by LoyceV - I've linked the post to his name and not his profile

The link where he found some cheaters - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5434499.0

Another example by elevates in this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5439469.msg61751636#msg61751636

And now, the profile link of the user who tried AI plagiarism in a signature campaign -
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1983110

And finally the link that describes him as an AI spammer -

179  Other / Meta / Re: Good Initiative by Royse777! on: February 18, 2023, 07:12:36 PM
It may work anywhere on internet where anyone could pass a AI generated text to get a payment.
There is a market for people to write essays and reports on internet and I am afraid universities and teachers still do not have reliable tools to tell the difference.

The difference can be spotted, only when there is a person who is either not fluent in English or not a native. However, a person with good English skills can easily surpass the AI detector test by making some changes to the text (I saw one example in this thread only) and some twisting here and there with a precis or word cuts cannot let even AI decide whether a person wrote the stuff or got it from AI.

But, in the cases of essay writing and report writing given to students by their professors, where the TL;DR applies to some lazy students, they won't change anything or even if they do and are not so fluent or know native English of the specific country (for example, there are differences in some words of UK and US English and even more), the professors will be able to easily catch those students and suspend them.

And, congratulations to Royse and Loyce for finding one user in one of Royse's campaigns. This will give a lesson to AI users that we are ahead of any technology because we created these things.
180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If it was you on: February 17, 2023, 11:59:16 PM
There are options too if you are not comfortable with both, but as you have said, everything in trading consists of risks and you must understand risk:reward management before considering to trade futures or options against spot. Spot can teach you how to trade, while futures is shaky and can make you think that you are not made for these markets 'if you consistently lose'. So practice in spot and then consider going for futures or options.
