Ahem...and ladies please
1044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 23, 2013, 07:43:19 AM
the 1000 USD mark will make lots of headlines around the world...

Almost as much as the $1279 mark (or thereabouts).

AKA the gold price?

Ahhh...there's that spike I could feel.

Went out and did some weeding...always a sure thing the market will move while I'm away.

So, educated madames et monsieurs....where do we take profits before this trend reverses?

somewhere between 1700 and 2200

Mwahhahah Cheesy

Then I looked at BTCWisdom and saw 6000CNY hoving in to view...that was Mr Reptile's prediction about 2200USD...1700 probably seems more realistic.
What fun Wink

lets see if it can fight through some of the profit taking insurance points on the way back to 1000
BTCChina just seems to get the shits close to 6000CNY..that's defo a profit point for a lot of investors there, big psychological barrier it seems.

BTC194,993

You're a very rich person then.

What the hell are you doing hanging around here Wink
Get out, see the world, spread love and happiness!!
1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many btc do you have? on: November 23, 2013, 07:13:38 AM
Just curious.  Cheesy
30 coins here

As of late last night, 2.

I would literally suck dick to revive my Bitcoin wallet of late 2011, early 2012, where there was at times a couple of hundred coins in that wallet, which cost me less in total than the 2 I bought last night.

Hell, I would even be pleased to get the 20 back that I sold at $370 just 10 days ago.

(I hate myself)
Don't beat yourself up too hard - I have a wallet from late 2011 which has seen HUNDREDs of coins come and go.  I used them for commerce rather than speculation, which is probably one of the most stupid things I ever did.

But life is about mistakes - the key is to learn from them rather than repeat them.
You'll do fine and are still way ahead of the curve Smiley

Bumping this because its one of my favourite threads and I think we are due a milestone crossed off.
1051  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 23, 2013, 03:33:32 AM
Well, for what it's worth I've cancelled my sell orders...I get the feeling a spike is incoming.

EDIT - BTC promptly stalls at Y5400... Huh
1052  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 23, 2013, 03:23:46 AM
up up up

this is too good to be true...

And when it looks too good to be true....it normally isn't true Smiley

For anyone who bought at the beginning of the year, this is certainly too good to be true, but it is true.   Only time will tell if today's purchasers will do as well.   My guess is yes, eventually . . .

Absolutely, as long as you're patient. As Mr Reptilia always says, you can't really lose with BTC.  I bought back in at 5100CNY last week and it promptly corrected....sit tight and back into the profit zone.

Probably the most useful thing this site has taught me is that buy and hold is a good strategy.
1053  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 23, 2013, 03:20:14 AM
Support on Stamp is very weak...its going to be a perilous climb.

This for jojo Wink

<quote>Here, watch me light a fart on fire.</quote>

Another charming adolescent male.

I think you may have missed the ironic part of that.
Hhhm...you think?
I'm not going to argue but fart lighting is a frat-house activity isn't it and I really have seen enough soft-porn on here to realise this thread is essentially an old boys club.

I'm covering this subject (the sexism around here) in another thread, so best avoid any further comment
peace
Nan

Nan,

Great, I think it's good to be discussed, (although maybe another thread *is* better) and if you noted the tone and content of my post, I tried to convey my sense that this thread is the most irreverent (and sexist, entitled, rude, offensive, disparaging, insulting, ugly and nasty) of the threads. But, hey, we're human; and, which is why I jokingly called it the snake pit (and illustrated how that might read).

Why don't you link to your thread, since at this point, it's not even 'exactly' off topic. However, like you, many that hang out in this 'lobby' also take part in relevant dialogue elsewhere (also mentioned in my post, only which you omitted in your quote), including the Foundation forum.

BTW, it's probably a young boys club, if anything, but I think I actually have seen someone light a fart in college, which is why it is a joke. No?

Cheers,
Crypty
Apologies for appearing over-sensitive.
Perhaps this goes someway to explaining my sentiment - this is average Australian male behaviour

And the story

This should provide everyone with enough giggles for the day. Smiley

At this point, remembering that crypto is going to bring us a Brave New World Order (supposedly according to many here)...lets lighten things up with a game.

Spot the Female

Remember these are the fiat folk you all supposedly hate and want to replace.

Plus ca change?

i didn't see any boobs, so there are no females in that picture  Grin

Personally, I see a lot of huge tits Smiley

I do have a sense of humour!!

My point with all this is that BTC appears to be dominated by men who ironically hold very similar values to the men who run fiat.

If we want to change the world we are all going to have to change our attitudes and try being more respectful to each other and understand that images/words on the internet have power.

As a mod here with whom I have had an interesting discussion said:
"I'm sure you will find it true in many more ways that some of us have become the very things we used to abhor."

well, i can't disagree with you. it's a trend i have noticed too, but women aren't naturally aren't attracted to technology or economics/currency as much as men are. if anything, the men here are probably more nerdy.. so it would be nice if other women were into BTC, so we'd have an excuse to talk to them  Shocked

the males here are alpha for certain, but i don't think they are as bad as sociopath wall streeters.

What's interesting is that if you look at the stats (I'm not sure about the US but in the UK and AU definitely) males have been overtaken by females at school in subjects such as maths and science.

Anyway, BTC is approaching my sell-level so I'm off for a trade or three: a girl's gotta make a dollar. Smiley
1057  Other / Off-topic / Re: Behaviour on the Speculation board: women not welcome? on: November 23, 2013, 02:45:01 AM
Instead of trying to change the behavior of men you may want to take a deep look at yourself. There is nothing wrong with objectifying women, and women objectify men all the time. Porn is morally right and so is prostitution. To me this looks like a topic about an envious feminist lost in male dominated space. If you're going to convert people to your ideology this is certainly not the place! Young males can see right through your feminist bullshit. I'd rather look into political parties for socialist or something. It's much more likely to find males who can surrender to your world view there.

I'm secretly laughing my ass off at this topic, I'm sorry. But when you get offended by a "trollbox", it's not just the people there who have problems.

There is an ignore button, and I really don't see why you didn't use it on that one person who posted "porn" in the wall observer thread if those prettier girls bothers you so much.

Wow, what an interesting response: so, it's my fault....my first thought is that's the sort of defence rapists use.

Porn and prostitution are morally OK... a very dubious intellectual position.
Perhaps read this before replying...there are plenty of links but I chose the FBI one because I think you are in the US...apologies if I'm wrong.

http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publications/law-enforcement-bulletin/march_2011/human_sex_trafficking

I'm just envious of prettier girls LOL....so automatically, a woman who doesn't hold your views is an ugly, old socialist dyke.  I don't regard myself as either politically active or a feminist FYI.

But old...guilty as charged...I'm probably old enough to be your mother....I'm guessing you have a mother, perhaps a sister or partner - how would you feel if she was raped/abused/sold to the sex-slave trade?  And how would you feel if that rapist had nurtured their fantasies on the internet?

I'd say holding very extreme views like you have (re. prostitution and porn) often invites the fates to test them out. I sincerely hope they don't.

But it's interesting that you say 'Young males'...which seems to imply that older, wiser heads understand the issues? You're probably right.

And I think this word "troll" has become an easy 'get out jail' card for people to say any sort of ugly, spiteful shite and justify it..."I was only joking".  Words have power especially in medium that is virtually souly word-based.

I'm not trying to convert people to feminism...ah, read the posts above....but as I said to someone else you seem to be speaking from a position of social power.  And as a white, middle-class female I can say I'm pretty lucky compared to many of the women around the world .
