MintPal claims to have processed my Darkcoin withdrawal via "50c56a07b654862a8bf9b00955dfa27cdc91c4a1d01b02959f7c122bad143fdf" but I can't find any trace of that transaction. Any ideas? A withdrawal processed for another coin has already been received.

How long has it been saying this?  Mine showed up in my wallet pretty quickly after it showed up on Mintpal.  It then took about 10 minutes for it to become confirmed in a block, and to show up on the block explorers.

Well, it's been at least two hours now. I updated the withdrawal page with a request but not sure how else to contact them.

Ditto. Feeling somewhat sick.

Does anyone have a support email address for Mintpal?

It was support@mintpal.com

Is it possible Mintpal was on a forked chain? I am trying to justify the incorrect transaction ID someway because the only other alternative is that someone keyed in a bogus transaction and has bad intentions.

Idk :/ It is strange how there is a transaction ID.

Well, after one tweet and one email to the address above, the coins are finally here. Not sure if it's a coincidence though.

Nice.  I'm still waiting.  Did you tell them about old wallet / fork?   That would be an over all fix.  I have yet to get anything.  I have been tweeting moolah.  Who did you tweet?

Mine was directed to MintPal and not Moolah. I am confident having read some of what transpired that MintPal rather than Moolah should be addressed with all of this communication.

Thanks, email and tweet sent to MintPal. Please check PM Smiley

I just checked the log of one of my masternodes, your transaction was orphaned:

Code:
grep orphan debug.log  | grep 50c56a07b654
2014-10-16 17:29:55 stored orphan tx 50c56a07b654862a8bf9b00955dfa27cdc91c4a1d01b02959f7c122bad143fdf (mapsz 47)

They must update their wallet and send it again!

Thanks for the update!  I guess it's the same for mine? 216235e6357e78aebacd1246040d0111c2d4e29a808cb999b2959718be1ff38c

Why was it orphaned? Old wallet? So they need to update their wallet and do it again?

Is the transaction ID in the right format? Or is it just some sort of internal transaction ID created by MP whilst they manually review everything? Very worrying indeed. Maybe they're just snowed under with requests. I can imagine it would take a long time to review every one manually.

Walter

I'm hoping it just a delay or something.  But I don't have a good feeling.

I have been involved in DRK since January / February, and stupidly have most of my dark there.

Just Google + 'ed this. Man I need a Twitter account! Maybe set one up today.
Great article...thanks for sharing!

Sorry for my ignorance.  I have been a part of Stealthcoin since the very first day, but have been too busy recently to follow the crypto world.

Just reading that article, it sounds like there will be a new coin? Stealth send?  Really a whole new coin?

Hey guys, I've been out of crypto for a while now.

I've not run the stealthcoin qt since the 18th of August.  Been here since day one though.  Amazed to see how far development has come! Super awesome guys.

I have latest client, but having a few problems catching up the blockchain.  I haves steak=0 in the cnfig.  Have restarted the client a few times when stuck.

Any tips?  Should I add rescan to the config?

Cheers!

Guys, sorry for your losses.

Some advice.
1. Don't use same passwords, generate new one every time when you need. Use a password manager with autolocking.
For example: KeePass Password Safe. It has some nice features: "The master key dialog can be shown on a secure desktop, on which almost no keylogger works. Auto-Type can be protected against keyloggers, too."
2. Enable TFA (Two Factor Authentication) on an exchanges and on a mail providers. It's not difficult. For example, you should download Google Authenticator to your Android phone and scan QR-code from an exchange (backup the key to your password manager). But it's not a panacea. Somebody using trojan can intercept TFA code entry to the site and use it. But better with than without TFA.
3. Encrypt your wallets (some wallets has error: checkbox "for mint only" do full unlocking not for mint only but for send coins too).
Don't use server in the conf file if you not need it.
4. Don't work under Administrator. Almost all users works as administrator. This is the biggest vulnerability. Work as a normal user with restricted rights and 95-99% of the vulnerabilities will pass you.
5. Antivirus+firewall.
6. Use a sandbox for untrusted software (for example, the Sandboxie or some antiviruses has it).
7. Use the Windows Update.
8. Create backups of your wallets and password regulary (it's not for secure, it's for your calm).
More safe:
Use virtual machine or standalone computer for trusted wallets and exchanges with 1-8 items (don't copy secret info from host machine to the virtual, use the internal password manager).
And the most difficult - go to Linux for coins and exchanges only with 1-8 except Windows specific.

Sorry to the guys for their loss, that sucks :/.

Cheers to this poster for this.  Very good.  I'm going to check out that password manager, also sanbox is a great idea, I totally forgot about them.  Any recomended sandbx software?

I'm mining with my three ATI 280's, since the start, so far only have 2.5 coins.  Nearly 4 hours.  I know 3 cards isn't much, but looks like I'll get 150 cins a day with just a signature in my post.

Not sure those ratios are great.

Been here since launch love the algo props to the devs and community for the cpu and gpu help. Djm have plans for us amd miners? We want doomcoin!
uploading to my github: https://github.com/djm34
--kernel doom

careful with the temp, my 290x at full power goes up to 94°C (then downclock) I recommend a powertune at -20
(even then coreclock is below its nominal value)

Cheers for this, I just downloaded and compiled in unix.  Getting sgminer: -k: Invalid parameter to set_kernel

I see doom.c and .h in there though.
what did I write in the message you quote ? (I don't think it is -k)

I tried both --kernel doom and also -k doom.

sgminer is  -a

Cheers, but pretty sure it's k or --kernel.  At least thats what the help files days.  Maybe my drivers are too old?

Can someone please explain exactly what this means?

Coin PoS age: Min. 3 days / Max. 9 days / coins stop aging at 15 days

I understand the more coins we have, the more steaking power we have, but not sure how the max 9 days, 15 days etc come into it.

  • Coin (input) is eligible to stake 3 days after the transaction that put it in your wallet.
  • Every second it gets a better and better chance to mint as it gets older.
  • But at 9 days after sitting in your wallet, the chances get no better.
  • Every second your coin will earn more and more interest once it mints.
  • But at 15 days, the potential earnings are capped. That means you can't open your wallet after 365 days and earn 20% interest. The most interest you will earn on an input is 0.822% (20% * 15 / 365).

  • So if you open your wallet every six months to stake, you'll earn just over 1.65% interest (1.00822 * 1.00822).
  • If you open it every 3 months you'll earn about 3.3% interest.
  • If you open it every 45 days, you'll earn about 6.7% interest.
  • If you open it every 22.5 days, you'll earn about 14% interest.
  • More frequently than that, you'll approach compounding to nearly 22% (based on a nominal APR of 20%).

The last calculation goes like this:

(1 + (0.20 * 3 / 365.0))**(365.0/3) - 1

Cheers for that! Great explanation and plan.  Cheers for the road map also, looking nice!

A new coin add to your wallet can take between 3 and 9 days to start staking
About stop aging at 15 days I dont know

Cheers, yeah I'm not sure either, so they eventually stop steaking?
