I like to backup my wallet.dat to multiple usb sticks and put them in seperate jam jars. I then get my face painted as a puppy and stick on some impressive looking whiskers. The fun part is digging new holes in my garden to put them in. I also occasionally indulge in digging up old ones to verify them. I do a lot of growling and sniffing during these rituals, but I think it's more my tourette's than anything. TBH the verification digging up bit is pretty much all OCD.

From http://www.njcts.org/tsparents/top-10-tourette-syndrome-myths

It is a common myth that those with TS swear often and uncontrollably.  In reality, only a small percentage of those with Tourette’s Syndrome have obscenity specific outbursts.  In fact, there is a special name for it: coprolalia.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=824211.msg9224804#msg9224804

As an FYI, I successfully withdrew 193 DRK from MintPal (which is everything that I had there) within the past couple of hours.  I don't know if all the allegations about the Alex Green / Moolah / MooPay shenanigans are true, but seemingly at least someone was honest within the convoluted MintPal structure.  I recommend everybody who had any coins at MintPal to withdraw their coins ASAP.  Hopefully they do not have a deficit of user-owned coins, but if they do, it will be the last folks withdrawing who get screwed.

I have always told myself never to store any coins at an exchange, but I was trading DRK off and on, and got lazy and left them there for a few weeks.  Never again.

BTW congrats to Evan and the other devs on the release of Onyx.  Keep up the good work.

MintPal claims to have processed my Darkcoin withdrawal via "50c56a07b654862a8bf9b00955dfa27cdc91c4a1d01b02959f7c122bad143fdf" but I can't find any trace of that transaction. Any ideas? A withdrawal processed for another coin has already been received.

How long has it been saying this?  Mine showed up in my wallet pretty quickly after it showed up on Mintpal.  It then took about 10 minutes for it to become confirmed in a block, and to show up on the block explorers.

Jeeezzz... just logged it to see what it look like... plain bullshit IMHO. No way to run any sort of contingency plan.

But, If they do retrieve customer funds... then good on them.
