....
How much you holding total kuperis? I've been buying all the way down and back up again, I think thats enough tho really, won't buy it all the way up, I'm on 220k+ and wont sell ANY till it hits $0.30 - then will take my stake out and ride the rest to wherever it gets

im holding 87k+

and im wont sell until hits 1$, i did that mistake once...i sold all my LTC for 0.82$ @ 48k, and later when i saw 9$ and then after 42$..

That's a heavy pocket you have there! About 20x what I have lol. I've been mining HVC with my CPU and now my three GPUs since the start.  Wish I had some other coins to trade for HVC!

HVC looks very promising me to.  I also like the name, Heavy > Lite! Grin
1502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 26, 2014, 12:40:50 AM
Anyone smart enough to work out when we will move from the "Mint" stage to the "Limit" stage?

Reading http://heavycoin.github.io/about.html

It says it moves to the Limit stage when there are 45,000,000 coins.  We're currently at just over 17,000,000 million coins.

Lets say the rewards stays at about 550 coins.

45,000,000 coins - 17,000,000 = 28,000,000 coins until we get to the 45million stage change.

so 28,000,000 / 550 =  50,909.

So lets say about 51,000 blocks to go.  2mins per block.

I work it out at about 71 days till we get to the 45,000,000 coins which changes us to the "Limit" stage.  (Assuming block reward stays at around 550).

Does this sound right to you guys?

Isnt this worked out / estimated on the bottom right of the GUI (windows version at least) wallet? Says 66 days to me

Doh! I've never put two and two together and noticed that.  Oh well. Proves my maths is pretty much spot on haah.  Cheers Smiley

If anyone wants to throw me a HVC for speeding 5mins to work something out which wasn't needed Tongue HTex4RZS6ipKCJGBxPPja3k3nnNVk5NhuZ haha

I've submitted a design brief to designcrowd.com, and some interesting designs are coming in. Here's a peek at one of the submissions:

Currently at 413 / 600 DRK for logo design fundraising.

Xc8xGSP7FwWGPQpgw298z7NYdA8xJK8ooh

Seems that it should be horizontally mirrored so that the bottom of the lock forms a D (for Darkcoin), other than that it's bad ass.  Anxious to see others.

Edit: although the "shrink wrapped" look has fallen out of favor lately (see iOS and windows 8, among others).

Am I the only one who hates the lock and key designs? Darkcoin has nothing to do with locks, unless we associate it with prison.  Undecided

Yeah i dont know. For me the current logo is awesome. One of the best out there...

As much as I appreciate people working on new logos and things, good on them!  But honesty, I love the current logo! It's awesome, and I don't think it would be a good move to change it.  If people want to work on designs and thigns, why not work on some cool graphics making use of the current one.

I saw some cool 3D / realistic and vector coins a few pages, love them!
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | DGW | ASIC Resistant on: March 20, 2014, 12:40:11 AM
Should update the original post mentioning moolah. Darkcoin is accepted there. It is primarily a store front for people, and you can pay in whatever coin you like (that is accepted) and moolah transfers it for the merchant. They will also have a fiat/DRK exchange. That is big news imo.

Also, I have a question, what are the biggest pools for DRK?

From the moolah's official website FAQ:

What currencies do you support?
Currently we support Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin and Vertcoin.

Where is Darkcoin?

Currency Support
We currently support Auroracoin, Bitcoin, Darkcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Mintcoin and Vertcoin.

It's there on their features page, https://moolah.io/merchants/learn-more , I guess they forgot to update their FAQ page.

Awesome to see!
1506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: cryptofolio.info - Free coin portfoilio with graphs!!! - Now with 245 coins !!! on: March 18, 2014, 09:12:42 PM
Thanks for the developers of this site / tool!  It's aweomse, and I probably check it at least 10x a day!

I do have two small requests / subjection though.

At the bottom somewhere, show the number of coins your currently have in your portfolio.  I must have 20-30, seeing without having to count would be great.

At the bottom, I love how you can get the graph for both bitcoin AND value in USD.   But for the individual coins, you can only get a graph for the USD, but not the amount of BTC.

If the coin total in BTC (which is currently shown) could be clickable to show a graph, that would be awesome.

With the variations in bitcoin's USD value, it changes the graph for all the coins your tracking when clicking the total in USD, it would be nice to see the growth / decline of a coin's BTC value, without being influenced by bitcoin's USD value.

Thanks for the consideration, and your hard work!

Checkout the whitepaper, master nodes don't control the collateral payments anymore. It's payment nodes, which are the last 2 block solvers. So it's the pools that would have to collude, in which case we'd know and stop using them.

http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkcoinWhitepaper.pdf

Very interesting.

Missed this, man  you just keep coming up with better ideas!  You really think outside the box, I'm in awe!

Excuse my French, but Evan is a fucking genius!  I honestly don't think I have seen some much innovation in any coins to date, since bitcoin itsself.

Keep plugging away Evan! You're building a very loyal fan base, and for good reason!
1508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | Hard Fork At 34140 (DGW) on: March 17, 2014, 10:14:07 PM
Already darkcoin forks popping up, if darkcoin wants to be a success there has to be more innovation ^^.

More innovation? You mean like the DGW, that was implemented literally a few minutes ago?

DarkCoin "forks" popping up that don't contain DGW or DarkSend....

More like Litecoin forks with scientific hashing.  Cheesy

AS i sayd, i think darkcoin took a great track, but it has to sustain. There is a very good reason im here now Wink, and its the only alt crypto i ever recognized as worth my time .

I wholeheartedly agree. This can't be the end of the innovation by any means - DRK needs to be understood as THE privacy innovation crypto, and we all need to get behind Evan on that. All these pump-dumpers complaining that "Darksend's never finished" can go hang. Any dev worth the project they're working on knows encryption features are never 100% "done". I'd love to see it to be the first cryptocoin to implement the latest developments in quantum cryptography, or something similarly newsworthy. I have no idea if that's even possible, but we need to shoot for the stars!

Well like I've said before, this is my full time job. After DarkSend is done and opensourced, we'll move on to whatever the community wants. I just want to make a coin to take the 2nd spot, I think we can do it. There's not many coins with a full time dev onboard.

#2 spot! Now that's the kind of ambition I like!

eduffield is different from 99.9% of the other coins "devs".  Most are just a copy and paste, with a few changes to blow rewards and crap.  Full time job, working on it for years, DarkSend, listens to community , clearly a bloody smart guy with huge ambition.  I could go on and on.  But with eduffield, I have supreme confidence in this coin.

Just can't wait for the full DarkSend release!

Almost everybody who holds this coin has and should have confidence, but comments like "750m market cap this year are realistic" are a little exaggerated. Who seriously think that DRK will go beyond $1500. I hope noone is that delusional

I don't know. I can get pretty wacky when I open my dark wallet.

Any chance of a clock timer on the release of DarkSend? I know its probably not the best idea to do a fixed time for release, but it would be nice Grin

haha yeah that would be very nice, but I'm sure it's too hard to pinpoint when it will be ready exactly.  I'm sure it will be released as soon as it's done!

I think we're all like raging bulls all pumped up and anxious to for the release of DarkSend, so we can burst into the ring and get promotion the hell out of this coin and it's features!

I know we can't put a date on it, but I'll be over the moon if we see it by the end of the month!

What is Evan's confidence level with the current rate of development and the previously estimated release date? If he can commit to a certain date, a countdown timer to when DS will go live and then another for code release may very well result in a boost to short term exchange rates.

By the way, does anyone know whether Armory is completing any transactions using DRK at this point?

I am not worried in the slightest about short term exchange rates and don't care about a set release date which will add pressure. I would rather Evan spend the time getting the codebase and everything right before we go live.

I don't care how many beta tests we have as long as once its released and verified by the community there are no show stoppers.

+1.  Totally agree.  Last thing anyone wants it a failed launched of DarkSend.  It's great that evan wants to get it perfect before it goes out of beta.  I'm glad I've been part of the beta testing.

So here's the plan for development, tell me if this makes sense or not:

1.) Beta V4, V5...  - Large changes that require everyone to upgrade to use DarkSend
2.) Beyond this point, DarkSend is ready for real use and will be available in binary form (closed source still)
3.) Release Candidates - RC1, RC2, etc - I'll be taking bug reports, but these are smaller changes and none of them should require everyone to update
4.) First stable release - I think this stage should also be closed source until we're sure everything is perfect
5.) Public audits, where the closed source is shared with someone who people trust to review DarkSend (I'm not sure who that would be yet)
6.) After all audits pass and we have a real product, opensource

Many thanks for chiming in and letting us know your plans. Who am I to say,...but that looks great to me, and a very smart way to do things.  I can't wait for the RC's!

Much appreciated, cheers!

BTW, the DarkCoin clone, Hirocoin...... a lot of people over there are excited by the fact that it uses X11, and its low power usage.

Clearly a big selling point over here also, but they seem to be doing a good job at marketing the X11.  I see X11 written around the place a lot more than here.  Just a thought Smiley... As it seems that X11 is getting a decent amount of attention now.

I mined Hiro at launch...sold it all last night and snapped up another bag of Dark Smiley

The HIRO launch was a pretty pathetic ninja-insta-mine festival. Ridiculous.

Yeah I manged a grab 5K worth, pretty worthless lol.  Also planning on exchanging for Dark lol

Why not?

At ~ $175 per coin 750m cap is reached at around 4.280.000 coins

This isn't unrealistic. Optimistic - yes, but not unrealistic. Given enough demand for an anonymous coin - no problems with such level and above.

Who would have thought 1-2 ago that bitcoin will be 600-700$ ?

2,5 years ago I could have started mining bitcoins having read and calculated a lot, but I ignored it as at the time it was under electricity cost on my rig. Guess how I feel now  Grin ouch

Lol I keep thinking that also.  The guys that made real money were the ones who were mining it at a loss, ie, costing more in electricity than they were mining a day.  The ones that made it BIG were the ones mining it before there were even any exchanges lol.

Is the new DGW working as expected?  Huh Smiley

Looking at http://coinz.co.vu/diff/?drk it seems like there are much bigger "steps" up and down than there were before.

I don't claim to understand how the new wave works, I'm just curious, as the steps seem kind of dramatic and less smooth than before.

Check this.

KGWell, DGWave

http://darkcoin.mine.nu/graph.html
http://darkcoin.mine.nu/KGW2.html

DGW has small amount of diff change up and down. 271 -> 281 -> 327
KGW has big well. 300-> 160 -> 300

Cool cheers for that. Smiley I think I get it! lol.

Someone with the knowledge should wrap up an article about it, how it works, why it's better.  With graphs and things.  Could be a good way to get some more attention to Darkcoin and it's awesomeness / innovation.

Anybody still mining HVC with CPU?
I have tried to get the GPU miner from a few pages ago to run with an Nvidia 570 card, but it just sits there, and does nothing.

AMD GCN cards only, that means R9 or better.

It's working great on my 7950's and R280x. But yeah, no Nvidia.

I'm user ID #28 if that helps.
