Curling is a strange sport, but I love how much the athletes get into it, especially with the ice brooms or whatever you call them. Also, the Russian team pants are awesome.

What about the Norwegian team?

As a Russian-Canadian I have to say I'm kind of torn between who to support. Canada is going crazy with medals, but Russia is the host and my motherland Tongue

P.S: I hope Russia will destroy everyone in hockey as usual though (except 2010 Olympics, ahem) , sorry Canada.

Also in case anyone is interested: world hockey championship results since 1920.

Watched the curling match between Russia and Switzerland yesterday. Down to the wire. Amazing.

624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OUCH! More Bad Bitcoin News... on: February 14, 2014, 04:14:40 AM
Still too expensive. I want some of these bitcoin millionaires to unload their massive stashes of coins and get the price way down and then I'll consider getting in it... I want fully 50% of the coin that is held by the top 2% of the userbase to be sold and distributed down to a broad userbase to promote stability. I'd like to see $100 again and there's no reason we couldn't and it wouldn't take much selling by these top holders to get us there. That 8000BTC order a few days back was peanuts. I want to see multiple sells for 10,000 BTC and want a real shaking out of the weak hands to establish a good base.

Calling this healthy selloff and wanting to convert coin into USD an "attack" is silly. If the exchanges can't provide the fiat the coin needs to drop in price until they can. Patiently waiting for the right price to enter, which is not yet.... I want 10BTC for $1000.

The thing is though, the whales are the least susceptible to all these "crashes" and FUD. The reason they became whales in  the first place is EXACTLY because they were smart enough to listen to themselves and buy into bitcoin when everyone else professed that it will fail. This is why they won't unload their bitcoins during times like these - they know Bitcoin will pull through just fine.

Meanwhile, the people that DO cause these reductions in price are exactly the people that don't hold a lot of bitcoins because they immediately panic and sell when they hear one of these news stories.

Don't think this is a problem. Bitcoin is a better currency and prevents governments (which are often corrupt or abusive) from fucking with your money. Bitcoin, or some other cryptocurrency WILL succeed.

631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can Bitcoin be made fun and exciting again? on: February 13, 2014, 01:41:59 AM
another huge price run up would be fun

I think the opposite. A huge price drop would be fun to watch.

good point, I would like to see that so I can scoop up some cheap coins

This, because I lost all my coins recently. Tongue

It should at least worth arround 0,015 now, i think in future (aprox 3 months) It should be arround 0,02 - 0,10 per HUNTCOIN

I think the coin is def. undervalued right now and is considerably better than some other recent alt coins...but 0.1 BTC is a little high. 0.01-0.02 sounds more realistic. And yeah the coin needs more promotion atm, being available on a major exchange should do that. Hopefully we will see one of the major exchanges pick it up soon.

I won't be watching at all, except maybe for a couple of hockey games.

Russia is really swallowing their own foot with these games. From the human rights angle all the way to the fact that Sochi was nowhere near ready to accept athletes and media people alike... So much fail.

For some reason, I'm not even surprised. I mainly feel bad for the athletes who've trained all their lives only to share toilet stalls and sleep in mini single beds.

I see this a lot but I don't understand this line of reasoning. Olympic games are not about politics, they're about the best in the world competing in sports. Not to mention Western media will paint anything Russia does in a negative light. Do toilets affect the Olympic competition? Does the fact that some journalist posted a picture of his honey having  a dead bee in it really matter? If things were really so bad, then why are all these athletes here, ready to compete?

Respect the athletes that train their whole lives to show us a good spectacle. Leave the politics out of it!
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of an effect will Bing adding BTC converter have on Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2014, 04:14:29 AM
Why would this have ANY affect at all?

Nobody uses Bing, and even if they did ,why on Earth would this matter?
640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Milions of dollars drained from Bitcoin wallet over the weekend on: February 11, 2014, 04:11:22 AM
Mtgox wont let me withdraw my BTC. They're probably stealing everyone's money and I care when my money gets stolen.

Either that or they sold everyones bitcoins and halted withdrawals and theyre going to buy them back now that the price dropped and open withdrawals.

Great way to make a little profit. I guess they're learning from banks...

That's really cynical, sinister level shit...I don't think they would do that. Although at the same time...they know that if they stop withdrawals the price will drop, so they would be sure to be able to make a profit by doing this. Still, I think this is a little too tin-foil hat for me.
