Nothing but the Btc foundation giving itself legitimacy. I highly doubt he actually signed any documents or was contacted in any way to get his name on there. Why would he support a foundation for a decentralized currency, ESPECIALLY if he went underground back in 2008 (I believe?) and the foundation was formed in 2012.

Lol wow. Talk about wanting the return of the Soviet Union. Especially ironic with the Stalin flags, considering he indirectly killed millions of Ukrainians because of causing the Ukrainian famine of 1933.

I didn't think this story could get more crazy, but here we go. What company misplaces and forgets about $100 million is beyond my comprehension.
If you manage your company very badly and you are dealing with hundreds of millions you can misplace $100 million but it feels a bit odd There is a lot that we don't know and there has probably be some people trying to s.cam successfully or not Incompetence is often (or usually?) the best explanation for things. But in this case it just doesn't seem that plausible. How likely is it for a team of guys that created one of the first and most popular bitcoin exchanges, and were also early adopters of bitcoin themselves, to be incompetent enough to just "lose" 800,000 BTC and then "find" a wallet with 200k?

Path of Exile is a free indie game and better than 99% of big studio games. I'd easily be willing to pay the normal 60ish $ price for it.

If you're going to spam post youtube videos everywhere can you at least provide descriptions or some context?

If a major business accepts Bitcoin (the likes of Amazon, bestbuy, etc) then that should create an environment where the other companies are pushed to accept it as well so they don't get left behind. Especially if this first business gets a noticeable boost in profits because of it. But the problem is, I think, that the corporate world is like one giant impenetrable monolith in alliance with banks and the people in control of this monolith are hostile to bitcoin for many reasons. Which is why we haven't seen a truly major brand accept it yet.

How is OP a scammer?...he has paid out to everyone.

With all this talk of guilds/groups...ARE there actually any groups of people playing? I'd imagine the Chinese have something like that, but anyone else?

|
|
That's exactly my point seed. That's why bots are killing the coin.
|
|
|
You're missing the point. If only bots are playing, the coin has no value. And right now, every day it's getting more difficult for "human" players to mine coins. In my case for example, I haven't actually made any coins for about a week because I keep losing hunters so I'm barely keeping even.

|
I don't think there will be any getting rid of bots. If it becomes bot vs bot it will still be interesting. Everntually it might actually take alot of people's time to keep development going on their bots. Plus it will always cost 1 HUC to play. The more bots there are, the less value the coin has. So it will continue falling and I highly doubt there will be "development" of the bots. The bots are bringing the coin's value down into the ground. Think about it, if people can just turn on bots and run them, why would "real" people play? And if nobody is playing the game anymore, the coin loses all value.

Who will defend us from the ignorant government-controlled media puppets now.
The truth defends itself by being self-evident. All you need to do is wait, just as atheists who are old enough to remember religious-dominance have been doing for most of their lives. Heh. That's a good analogy, but I think the situation is different because the relationship between people and money is different than people and religion. Money is something everyone relies on to survive, religion is not as important. So it will be more difficult for "Bitcoinism" to overtake "Fiatism" like atheism is doing right now to religion.

I'm inclined to agree with the anti-bot angle. And I do think it is being reflected in the rapidly-falling coin price. When people spend less time playing the game to mine because bots are doing it for them, it's only logical that the value of the coin will drop. If you work less hours, you get paid less money, as an analogy.
Having said that though I still think HUC is an "underground" coin right now and it still has the potential to be discovered by a lot more people. Right now it's just crypto-enthusiasts that know about it.
edit:
Also to address snail and his insistence for people to form mining "guilds" - the idea is good but I don't think anyone is actually willing to do it. Why? Because it's too much hassle. We're playing this as a game after all, and creating an organization where you would have to communicate with people (perhaps even over voice chat) is just too much work.

Thanks for the explanation D&T. Now that I think of it, I remember when I was using my armory wallet it would immediately add on the transaction fee to the amount sent.

Bitcoin will make itself mainstream because it is a superior currency. It doesn't need any marketing campaign.
While it is very good currency, there are many competitors and I dare to say nothing much will happen without good marketing. My experience tells me that good product is not enough. The internet didn't have any marketing to speak of. Technologies with real utility, real practicality, real value, don't need "marketing". Marketing is an industry that was invented to sell people shit they don't need or want. It's psychological warfare. The competitors don't have the infrastructure though. And that is what it really comes down to. That is why for Bitcoin to be "abandoned" by everyone there would have to be a catastrophic failure of some kind. The community and numerous businesses / organizations have invested too much into Bitcoin infrastructure to just throw it all away. A lesser coin would've died a hundred times over.

Ronin IronMan
I liked the 1st and 2nd Iron Man movies even though I'm not into comic books...the 3rd one kind of lost me You're being far too generous. The 3rd one was a steaming pile of horseshit and I have no idea why the critics were so kind to it. Oh wait maybe I do...they were giving positive reviews for $$.

Don't worry, more Cyprus-like bail-in events coming to a bank near you in the next few months/years will ensure Bitcoin will become more expensive and hence will gain in popularity.
Hmm excellent point. I've actually completely forgotten that this is probably the biggest booster for Bitcoin: not good developments in the Bitcoin world, but bad developments in the fiat world.
