21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | POS - NSDI | VeriBit | VeriSend | VeriSMS on: August 14, 2014, 04:41:39 AM
Hey guys,

It is sad to see such a low value for VRC.  However we are not just motivated by price and this is why we aren't anonymous and haven't walked away.  The most important part of being successful is not giving up and it is the thing most people do. This is a reset, if you must sell so be it.  If you want to build the future, we will be here with the community, working to build it!  If we don't give up, we have already beat most of the competition.

Words mean very little. Let's see where you are and vericoin is in 1 year from now.

No matter where he is, at least he will still have integrity and won't be burdened by the negative Karma that's associated with having to constantly spread FUD on other altcoin message boards (unlike some people, who many in the altcoin community seem to loathe).

On the other hand, it's pretty telling to me that this little VeriCoin team seems to be that great of a threat to the other altcoins that they have to send bashers over here to try and scare new investors away.  When you think about it though, it's actually kind of cool.  If VeriCoin was really as dead in the water as so many of the bashers try to say it is then why would they spend so much of their time here?   Huh Shocked

I agree, I've invested a good amount of my BTC into VRC and honestly I don't even care if I lose it all or most of it at this point, just because I like the dev team. I know that these guys actually work hard, put their faces on the internet, and do things in the real world to show that they want their crypto to succeed. You can't say that for most altcoins. Having said that, I still think VRC will bounce back up because it's been down before and the devs are showing no signs of abandoning us.

actually sad and pathetic that ppl take their time to write paragraphs of hate lol... if u don't like vericoin, why you here aaallllll the time writing sooooo much lol its actually scary and disturbing the type of lives you must have ...wow , the people that believe in vericoin at this point aren't even paying attention to your verbal diarrhea. so many coins go down more than 60% in weeks and rebound stronger , do you not know this or are u that naive ?

Anyway.... enjoy your time typing a 20 min reply lol

Haha I feel the same way. These toolbags like Barabbas write essays in this thread. If you really don't like the coin, then why are you here? Writing so much about it? It's like they want to appear smart and without an agenda. Add them to ignore (as well as the guys who do nothing but post image memes) and the thread looks so much better.

I think I understand why everyone ignores barabas in other threads on bitcointalk. What a tool...
24  Other / Politics & Society / Re: White House won’t commit on stopping potential ‘genocide’ in Iraq on: August 10, 2014, 04:39:47 AM
Translation - there's nothing for them to benefit from by sending troops or bombing ISIS. It's all the same political game, you almost never ever see a country do something out of the kindness of its heart. The West stood by when Rwanda happened, this will probably be the same.
25  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is getting ready to bomb the USA :( on: August 10, 2014, 04:28:59 AM
Nothing to see here, just typical political posturing. Even Kim Jong-un isn't dumb enough to use nukes on someone.
26  Other / Off-topic / Re: Something I noticed about watermelon on: August 10, 2014, 04:22:23 AM
On the off-chance you are actually being serious...consuming tons of sugar tends to have that effect, at least for me. I certainly notice that if I eat a lot of fruit, it shows up in my nether regions  Wink
27  Other / Off-topic / Re: The most dangerous creature of our planet on: August 10, 2014, 04:20:48 AM
Depends, you're going to have to be more specific than that.

By sheer statistics, it's of course humans. If we're looking at animals, then it is probably some kind of an insect like a mosquito because they spread disease and kill a lot of people that way. If we're only looking at large animals, then probably something like a shark. Really depends on what you mean.

Isn't he also one of the 8 congressmen that voted against sending 225 million in aid to Israel recently? Seems he is one of the only politicians with a backbone. I'd vote for him if I was an American, despite him being a Republican.

While the US was and is playing cat and mouse in the middle east, China was busy getting their tentacles in Africa and now the US is trying to catch up.

Perhaps, but it is too late for them. China has been very busy but also very quiet. In any case, this is better than sending billions to Israel to bomb innocent civilians back into the stone age.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Should Bitcoin Be Regulated? on: August 06, 2014, 07:01:39 PM
It shouldn't be regulated, period. That's kind of the whole point. If the government tries to ban or control it with taxes and what not, I'm really hoping the bitcoin community will respond by showing the middle finger.
31  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you guys play on your own? on: August 06, 2014, 06:59:40 PM
I love to play RPGs on my own. That is the only type of game that I can enjoy without playing on multiplayer, because a good RPG just immerses you in an interesting story with lots of characters and a cool world. I'm currently playing Witcher 1 for the first time, I played the second one but never played the first. I am enjoying it a lot, it is very story-driven and the world looks great. Will probably replay the second one after that.

I'm also playing Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Skyrim from time to time, that's another classic RPG series.
32  Other / Off-topic / Re: League Of Legends VS Dota 2 on: August 06, 2014, 06:55:25 PM
I've tried both but I stuck with Dota 2. I have several problems with LoL - first of all, the graphics look outdated and are way too cartoony. Second, the community is far too young (average age is something like 17-19), I am 24 myself. Third, the game is very simple - the item choices are not very exciting and activatable items are more interesting and important in dota. Also, there is no denying which removes an element of skill from laning. Map awareness also seems a lot more important in Dota, and I feel there are a lot more playstyles and things to think / worry about which adds to complexity and excitement. I recently had 2 friends who switched from dota to lol come back to play to play dota with me and they are enjoying it a lot.
33  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you do to keep fit ? on: August 06, 2014, 06:50:06 PM
Make your daily (or almost daily) workout a routine. Once you make something a routine, It is very easy to keep doing it even if you feel lazy or tired. My workout routine is to do calisthenics every 2 days, and run for 15 min on the days between that. For calisthenics I do 8 pull ups, 10 push ups, and 8 dips and repeat that 8 times each, with 20 sec rest between each exercise. I don't care about looking big like people who lift weights, I just want to be healthy, have more functional strength for everyday life and look more lean.
34  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who is More Evil? on: August 06, 2014, 06:44:31 PM
Nice addition of Israel. I would probably put them ahead of the US at the moment. They're laughing in the face of the entire world right now while they slaughter civilians and bomb UN schools. Why the UN is not over there with their peacekeepers yet I don't know, or maybe I do *looks at US*.

There is an ebb and flow to all markets, including the best coins.  The cynics are vocal in the ebb and the optimists in the flow.  The hack and aftermath set back our timelines, we are coming through on our promises soon.

This. The same pattern repeats itself - coin goes up everyone is happy posting crappy image memes. Price goes down, the trolls/fudders climb out of their smelly caves and preach death and gloom.

I reckon price is going to be quiet for another week or so, or whenever the next major update will come out from the devs.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's brave/stupid enough to invest their life savings into Bitcoin? on: August 02, 2014, 10:20:55 PM
I pretty much did, but as a student that's not a lot of money. I lost it all gambling on bitcoin dice  Cheesy

Greatest lesson of my life
38  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: August 02, 2014, 10:12:53 PM
Did anyone watched the series FARGO and can recommend it?
(The movie wasnt bad so i thought ill give it a try)

Yes its very good. It has one of the most interesting and menacing bad guys I've seen in any TV show. Plus the dark humor and accents are very funny!

New info on something i have just read.

Ronaldino to join QPR for next season. Xa can some1 conform this pls.
Not yet for today, i heard Colorado Rapid in the top list to bring Ronaldinho to play in MLS, let's see till tomorrow.

So I guess America is the place for famous footballers to spend their last few years playing? Beckham was much past his prime when he moved, so is Ronaldino.

Troy (2004) if you're in the mood for an epic-scale movie. Ancient Greece goes to war with the famed city of Troy over Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world. Full of epic mythological Greek characters like Achilles, Odysseus, Agamemnon and Hector.
