861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem 500kh/s with 7970 on: January 22, 2014, 06:01:26 PM
Been there, done that.

If all else fails I recommend COMPLETELY uninstalling all AMD drivers and SDK.  Use something like tuneup utilities to remove all traces from the registry.  Then reinstall ONLY the drivers from AMD Catalyst™ 13.11 Beta Driver for Windows and then ALL of AMD-APP-SDK-v2.9-Windows-64.exe.

Then use the following settings:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gigahash.wemineltc.com:3334 -u pool user name.1 -p password --thread-concurrency 8192
 --intensity 13 --queue 0 --worksize 256 --auto-fan --temp-target 80 --temp-overheat 90 --temp-cutoff 95 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-vddc 1.2 --no-submit-stale -g 2 --lookup-gap 2

If successful, then start lowering the gpu-vddc a little at a time until you get HW errors.  You should get 730 Kh/s easy.

Thanks for your reply.  Anybody else concerned about it??
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Low HW (hardware) errors in cgminer on: January 21, 2014, 12:20:05 PM
Is this a problem, or not?

I have 2 open crate mining rigs identical with 4 Sapphire Radeon HD7970s the OC with boost.  Both rigs run cgminer with Win7-64.  Both hash great at about 730 Kh/s at 79 degrees.  No complaints there.  But each rig on GPU 3's card gets about 1 HW error a day.  Is this normal?  Should I try to change anything?

here is bat:

Quote
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gigahash.wemineltc.com:3334 -u pool user name.1 -p password --thread-concurrency 8192
 --intensity 13 --queue 0 --worksize 256 --auto-fan --temp-target 80 --temp-overheat 90 --temp-cutoff 95 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-vddc 1.2 --no-submit-stale -g 2 --lookup-gap 2

p.s. I have undervolted before but I am leaving at 1.2v until HW errors are resolved.

LOL!  No, I will not be opening a port on my router and posting my IP!

Ok, here is the link of a post that has worked for me.  Maybe it will for you, too, someday:

Now getting >700!
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help with SAPPHIRE HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 OC with Boost on: January 05, 2014, 07:45:42 PM
did you change tc to 8192 and remove v 1?
Yes.

I am really wondering if a BIOS flash to something else might help.  All 4 of these cards are refurbs.  They look brand new but it makes me wonder if Sapphire didn't flash them.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help with SAPPHIRE HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 OC with Boost on: January 05, 2014, 07:22:43 PM
1050/1500 and 1080/1500 work best for 7970s.  also tc of 8192 and remove -v 1
make sure to delete the old tahiti file in the cgminer folder first when you change thread concurrency.

also see if you can get by with powertune 0.  +20 was the hype previously but usually not needed.

Thanks for your reply.  I just did as recommended and went with the 1050/1500: net result is gain of 10Kh/s.  I am still nowhere near what others report of >700.

Any other ideas?  Are there any motherboard BIOS defaults that could be changed to help?  Just guessing...

This card is driving me nuts.  I cannot get over 550Kh/s no matter what I do with cgminer 3.5 or 3.7.2

Model number: SAPPHIRE HD Radeon 11197-03-40G

Here is the BIOS for this card: Sapphire.HD7970.3072.120925.rom
bios p/n as reported by AtiFlash is 113-2104XTHY-0B5

Rig is Win 7 64 prof.  4GB 1066 Corsair DDR3 in AsRock 790 Extreme3 MB, Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300, 4 riser cables, Sempron 145, SSD HD.  Rig never gets too hot in crate with huge fan constantly circulating.

Current cgminer config (although I have tried just about everything):

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gigahash.wemineltc.com:3334 -u UUUUUUUU.1 -p PPPPPPP --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 10240 --intensity 13 --queue 0 --worksize 256 --gpu-fan 50 --gpu-engine 1075 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-vddc 1.125 --gpu-powertune 20 --no-submit-stale -g 2 -v 1 --lookup-gap 2

I have moved the switch to the 1 setting for flashable ROM on all 4 cards.  I flashed ROM with 3 older versions of Sapphire HD Radeon 7970 bioses, 2 crash and other 1 is no change.  I did this test on GPM #2.

Please advise.  Thanks.

why is qrk.coinmine.pl down

Looks like only the front end is down, still getting payments.

We have all been wondering if there will be another coin that will surge in price like bitcoin and litecoin.

A lot of people have used the approach to mine and/or buy every coin because it is hard to be sure which Alt coin will turn out to be the next BIG ONE.

We now know!

How do "we" know this?

Quote
It is Quark!

Quark has done something that no other coin has ever done. It increased in value by more than 1000x in less than 2 weeks. From 21 on Tuesday Nov 19 to 30000 on Sat Nov 30.

This huge increase is amazing.

How was it possible?

It is a result of the uniqueness of Quark's distribution.

All coins when first issued are raped and dumped by the botnets, farms etc. In fact no coin can overcome this relentless raping and dumping. All coins nearly die from it. Quark was no exception.

But because of Quark's distribution, nearly all of its coins have been minted, there can be no more raping and dumping. There is no more constant downward pressure on the price.

Now the price can increase with time without constraints. It is this natural price increase that is attractive to hedge fund investors and will result in Quark challenging litecoin's price of 0.025 btc and maybe even challenging bitcoin itself.

We have all wondered what will happen when a coin is fully mined. We now know. It is a price explosion!

How do "we" know this??  The coin is not fully mined yet and there is still that 1 million QRK a year for inflation.  So how do "we" know this?

I only hope that everybody got in on Quark before Nov 19. If not, it is not too late, there may be another factor of 1000x waiting in the wings. Big money is pouring into Quark!

Which one is going to win? Catcoin, Kittycoin, or Nyacoin?

I'm waiting for the rollout of the PussyCoin.   Wink

So what's wrong with this guy's logic?

I can't withdraw any coins. They have been pending for 2 days. I had a negative balance. Filled 5 support tickets. No response. This is bullshit. Craptsy needs to stop trading, fix their shit or get out of the Crypto market.

I have worked in support.  If you have 5 support tickets, you are taking more than 5 times the time it takes to handle 1 ticket.  It will work better for you, and for everyone, if you file one with the detail.  "something is wrong" is not enough detail.  Then quit and wait.

If you try to apply more pressure, they will respond by becoming more defensive, and not by fixing the problem.  It hurts everyone for you to put many support tickets in.  Don't do it.

A better question is "why is there a need to do support tickets in the first place?"

Stacy Herbert, Keiser Report co-host, is as pale as a vampire. She needs blood.

Some of us really like that kinda look.  Go Stacy, you're smart, and that is the ultimate hotness.
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 19, 2013, 08:50:49 AM
I just finished watching the second half of the Keiser Report.  My impression is that Bill Still did a decent job explaining what Quark is and why it is better than most other cryptocurrencies.  Keiser did not seem to take a position either way.  In other words, while it is news, and it is a means of exposure for Quark, it is also nothing new for this community.  Let's hope that some new blood flows into QRK today.

I am now in for 175k QRK.  Ready to ride the wave.
