781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][BEL] Bells - Fast and fun! - Scrypt - Random Block Rewards - No Premine on: January 20, 2014, 12:20:29 AM

This is not my coin I am just posting it to Announcements since the creator never did.
The creator is the same as Dogecoin.

Original thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349695.0

[BEL] Bells

Scrypt coin based on the currency from the Nintendo game Animal Crossing.

Logo by Daswiruch

In the Animal Crossing universe, Bells are the primary form of currency. To gather them, you must collect fruits, catch bugs, fish, dig for fossils, etc. and trade those items for Bells. In the crypto world, we just mine for them!

The Bell amount you get from the various items is quite random, so Bells as a cryptocurrency has random rewards in various denominations as well.

Future work
Bells was made with fun in mind as well as an unhealthy obsession with Animal Crossing Smiley
If it catches on in popularity, I may be compelled to work on a "Tom Nook's store" type trading Post exchange for virtual goods and the like!

Sample Config File with Addnodes

Code:
rpcuser=bells
rpcpassword=areawesome

My holdings as of thread creation
Code:
My coin holdings as of creating this thread were mentioned that I might have a lot and wanting to pump the coin to sell.
At the start of this post I have ~42k bells and only have about 250 KH/s to mine with.
You can look at how many blocks have been mined already and the current mining hashrate yourself and see that isn't much.

If anyone wants to donate to me for bringing awareness to the coin they can here if they want: BDCiYUTiHqrcs81BZBUeZU1ZZ991xqo6uD

I like Animal Crossing and cryptocurrencies that don't have billion+ totals.
That is why I made sure this coin got posted in the correct section even though it is a little older.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What coin names that are unused do you think would be good choices? on: January 19, 2014, 09:08:01 PM
I have two that I think would be good.

1. Beads - Beads have been used as a currency before and it separates itself from ****coin names that are common.

2. Steamcoin - When dogecoin first got people's interest it was traded for steam games first. I don't think valve would be the type of company to attempt to stop a cryptocurrency using their logo and it gives the coin an intended purpose that wouldn't be too difficult  to actually achieve.

Well lost my USDE at some point yesterday when someone transferred it from my poolrino account.

I only used the password on that site so beware.

Have you spoken to the pool host? You should know they are linking to their btctalk-thread on the front page of the pool; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=414036 Smiley I'm sure they can assist you. I've had nothing but good times with poolerino so far.

Yeah, quite often ppl post warnings or accusations without simply trying to talk to owners/devs first.
Like yesterday... I notice a bug on the new CoinMarket, nobody's complaining on the forum yet, so I chat with the dev in IRC to solve the matter discretely. The issue is fixed on the fly and within 5 minutes... but when I return to the forum a couple of guys are already shouting about it... giving a good project a bad name.

It's best to talk first = win/win.

You can't fix cryptocurrencies that have already been sent to another address, about 12k UDSE.

GK8kob7syJUKASuy669MjFqXBqTDXc4Qs2

That is the one my coins were sent to, just in case anyone else happens to find theirs gone.

I am not asking for anything back because there is no way for that to happen.

788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OGC] #OnlineGamingCoin# on COINED UP !!! Crypto designed for Online Gaming on: January 19, 2014, 01:40:30 AM
I'm trying to contact the owner, as i've most likely a person that want to take over the coin, but at the moment he didn't response. I hope he will be back as i've bought for 3BTC of it!!!! So if he don't continue, then someone else will take over the coin, i cannot let 3BTC go up in dust.

What price did you buy at?
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED]MarioBrosCoin on: January 18, 2014, 07:49:15 AM

The developer said he doesn't have time.

So coin is dead unless someone wants to work on it.

because the creator is an idiot

http://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=BillyM2k - His Reddit account just in case anyone wants to ask him about this coin.

Most likely the success of Dogecoin has been dragging all of this attention away.

It would be nice if an exchange added it, to get some more miners going.
