1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GetGems Gets Major Recognition by Coinbase!! Historical Achievement on: August 11, 2015, 01:17:08 AM

The advertising aspect of GEMZ makes this a perfect coin to buy and hold. If the app ever gets successful you will have an almost unlimited advertising budget.

For people who don't know, you use GEMZ to advertise on the app.

1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GetGems Gets Major Recognition by Coinbase!! Historical Achievement on: August 10, 2015, 09:55:13 PM

I use GEMZ and it is alright. I have a feeling it won't catch on though. Regular users don't understand that GEMZ are different than all the fake money every other app has. Don't most apps have fake money included in it promote use. Users don't care if it is MySQL money or Blockchain money. To users it is all monopoly money. If it was easier to see that GEMZ = BTC = Real physical stuff, it might catch on faster.

ICO buyers hold too many coins also. Even if you understand GEMZ = USD quite easily, you soon realize all you earned was $0.01. You then realize if the app gets popular you're just making investors rich with yourself having a chance at $100.

Then there are server costs since GEMZ is centralized... what will the company that created GEMZ do when they have $0 in the bank? Run another ICO and dilute GEMZ?

1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trustless Ethereum Triangular Number Pyramid Contracts - Check it out! on: August 10, 2015, 09:26:52 PM

This is so dumb. Why would you ever join an existing Pyramid Contract?

Clearly you would want to make a new Pyramid Contract and be the 1st person in on it.... or even better yet, be the owner of the first 100 different funds sent into it!

1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | [Crowdfunding] | [XEMP] | 35M coins | EmpoCredits | Backed by EmpoEX. on: August 10, 2015, 09:04:50 PM
you guys are jokers theres no distrib list on ur site i just bought 3 btc of xemp! i don't believ u have nothing.nno distribution.no color names

-himer
Hello, Himer,

We can assure you that there is a distribution list, which can be only seen by EmpoEX's VIP members.
Colored names are there too. But, you will be able to see all those new things after crowdfunding ends.

What is your account name on EmpoEX? There hasn't been a buy of the amount you mention in your post.

i sent btc coins to ur site where did they go?? i made a buy 3btc

Hi Newbie. I hope you made sure to confirm the address was correct. Did the transaction happen on the blockchain? Check out a blockexplorer to see if it went through.

Maybe you sent 3 satoshi or $3 instead of 3 BTC? Some wallets are confusing on the units used.

1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [STV] SativaCoin TAKEOVER by Altcoin.Center - New official thread! on: August 10, 2015, 07:19:29 AM

I hope it gets relisted. If not, make sure to remove all of your STV.

If you need a paper wallet, check out:
http://cryptolife.net/upwg/
and use number 63

63 comes from
https://github.com/sativacoindev/sativacoin/blob/master/src/base58.h
PUBKEY_ADDRESS = 63, //sativacoin addresses start with a lowercase S

Staking STV pays great. Make sure to stake instead of leaving coins in paper wallets. It's well worth it.

1146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: August 10, 2015, 07:05:55 AM

$ETH, 420 coins ($POT, $CANN, $THC, $DOPE, $CCN, $STV, $MARYJ), $BTC, $LTC, $PPC, $HZ, $NXT, $XMR, $GEO, $XDN, $BITZ, $SEX, $FRK, $IOC, $XCP, $ENRG, $MYR, $XMG, $MAID, $NMC, $BLK, $CURE, $DOGE, $DOGED, $BURST, $OC, $HBN, $MINT, $MONA, $RDD, $SWARM, $SJCX, $VTC, $DVC, $VNL.

Hold on... I'm sure I own at least another 100 different coins Tongue I must write them all down so you people know which coins to buy.

Any of the soon to be released $ETH clones! Or any of the coins listed above that decide to do a fully automated swap to the $ETH source code! $ETH clones are gonna be on fire.

Also... If trading fees are fully removed from the system, it could be used to fake volume.

I hate fake volume. It would be amazing if you could some how remove fake volume from your exchange (I have never seen fake volume abuse on empoex). Fake volume is so annoying on Bittrex, c-cex and yobits.

1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | [Crowdfunding] | [XEMP] | 35M coins | EmpoCredits | Backed by EmpoEX. on: August 10, 2015, 06:38:42 AM

Why do you need a new blockchain?

Couldn't this be an ETH or XCP token?

Hello, fartbags, (lol)

This is a crowdfunding. Which means we need funds from the crowd, in order to achieve some things. Those things are explained in the original post.

Thanks for your comment.

It's a lot to read Tongue

I think a new blockchain will be insecure. Unless you are looking to add features into a blockchain there is no point in creating a new coin. You can create a free XCP (CounterParty) token and use it to raise funds. GEMZ is just a XCP token and traded on exchanges like any other cryptocoin. BitCrystals is raising funds currently and is also just an XCP token. Both raised lots of funds using a token instead of a new blockchain.

I believe it is free to create XCP tokens or maybe like a 0.00001 BTC fee to create as many tokens as you want.

Using XCP will allow you to use the bitcoin blockchains security.

I like empoex and will get some of this.

We have no nodes and haven't been able to find any... if someone cannot provide some soon, we will be delisting the market and wallet.

thanks,
richie@bittrex

BITTREX ran this ICO...

Maybe BITTREX should included 10 nodes for 10 years in the next ICOs that they run. Just include that extra cost of creating nodes into the cost of listing an ICO on BITTREX.

Hosting an ICO and then de-listing the coin seems like a scam.

Come on BITTREX. Have some morals. You ran this ICO. Do something about this.

1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who wants to fork ethereum? on: August 10, 2015, 05:44:24 AM

Ethereum is pretty sweet. Why hasn't anyone clones it yet? Isn't it just switching a few variables and boom a new coin?

1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum ICO premine + an additional premine of 12M ETH or 17% of current supply on: August 10, 2015, 05:07:51 AM
If you did just a little digging you would see that it was actually included in the genesis.

https://www.etherchain.org/account/0x5abfec25f74cd88437631a7731906932776356f9

I'm all for exposing blatant wrong-doing, but it does help to check facts first!

Are you a bit slow in the brain? Of course this premine was included in the genesis block. That's what a premine is! DUH!

They included the 60 million ETH premine for the ICO. Then they included a 12 million ETH premine for the devs. Most people didn't know about the devs premine so I thought I'd show them proof of it.

https://www.etherchain.org/account/0x5abfec25f74cd88437631a7731906932776356f9 << That is the facts right there. It's called a block explorer. Learn how to use it.

My brain is just fine thanks!  Perhaps its yours, spending too much time using it trying to sound like a smart ass than actually putting it to good use to prevent yourself looking stupid.

The 12M you question was included in the genesis, and the total ether in the genesis adds up to 60M, then this 12M you are ranting about is part of that 60M, so it cant be an additional pre-mine can it.

I don't want to be mean but @Fuserleer is ignorant and likes to talk without knowledge of things.

I was looking for a way to check coin totals and to look at blocks with geth but couldn't figure out how. I decided to run a script to tally up the numbers on https://www.etherchain.org/block/0. The total amount came out to 72008990.49947993 ether coins in the ethereum genesis block.

1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, the next era of bitcoin technology on: August 07, 2015, 12:42:21 AM

Does anyone know what the gas limit has to get to before transactions can happen? It's going up pretty fast right now. It went from 8,000 to 12,200 in just 900 blocks.

I believe it's 21,000.  But that's just for a single transaction, I guess it'd have to be much higher to function normally and handle Dapps, etc.

Up to 16,289 gas limit now.

We might see some exchanges working within 6 to 24 hours.

1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCO] Xcoin | PoS | No Premine & No IPO on: August 06, 2015, 11:13:54 PM

Classic instamine short term PoW coin. Then PoS solve the blocks with those already mature coins that you instamine. Then buy any coins you don't own on c-cex.

Do you people even know how to look at a block explorer?

This coin is still pretty cheap. If the dev has some secret plans it might be alright to buy right now.

How many Ethers in total?

Nobody knows. I don't think they have a block explorer yet. Is there a block explorer? I would love to look at it if it exists.

Here ya go:

https://etherchain.org/

Thanks

That's a pretty nice block explorer. I don't see a total Ether count on it though. I wouldn't be able to tell you how much Ether there is.

Can I ask everyone that regularly follow this thread (or anyone else for that matter). What would be the most desired feature to be added to Bitz?

- A BITZ-Ethereum sidechain bridge that allows you to use BITZ inside of an Ethereum DApp.

- A light android wallet (doesn't have to stake).

- Integration with 3rd party sites like shapeshift.io and payment processors.

BITZ is doing really well. You have always made good decisions. Whatever you chose will be a good choice.

1159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, the next era of bitcoin technology on: August 05, 2015, 08:27:23 PM
If ethereum is such a great thing why are bitcoin forums full of shills spamming this shit?

With $18M funding they couldn't even fabricate a windows client...

seriously, +100000 to this. I've just spent the better part of two days trying to install and mine on linux and windoze and this software is HORRIBLE. 18mil and you can't even write much less organize coherent information? I'd laugh if it wasn't so damn sad.

It opens up a great opportunity for someone to relaunch Ethereum with more features.

The 5000 Bitz ReTweet competition ended without a single entry?? Thats a bit weird, nobody took the chance to get 5000 Bitz which is roughly 0.059 BTC or $17,- at present. The first person who had composed a Tweet would have got this. A Tweet for $17,- and no takers.

I guess the giveaways / competitions are a waste of time. Have to think of something else...

https://twitter.com/SecretsOfCrypto/status/628716923593699328

Nice tweet. It looks to have actually pushed the price up a bit. You have lots of followers.

BITZ is looking good. The dev is hard working.
