@hankman
ethereum had months+ to build it, and a lot of cash to invest in their mission... why don`t you build a better one and ask for a bounty?
I believe @hankman was the person who said they wanted 1 BTC of SHF to hire someone to develop a block explorer. I thought it was a sweet deal. I would have wanted 3 to 5 BTC worth of SHF to build the explorer. In the end, the devs didn't want to use the premine on a block explorer. They want to make it themselves, have it included in their dev 50k premine and keep the 200k for future developments. It's a good plan to keep the premine until SHF is worth more. It's also a good plan to spend it quickly and build an amazing coin as quick as possible. I like the quick development style but the devs want to go slow style. I haven't looked at the premine. Is it 250k or 450k? 250k Yeah I thought so. 50k for the developers and 200k for bounties.

Why is no one selling all the coins they mined during the exchange freeze! I need more coins.

Anyone know the trick to mining from a computer to an EXP client running on another computer? I'm doing "ethminer -F http://192.168.1.x:9656 -G" and its giving me a "libcurl error 7: Could not connect to http://192..." Make sure you use --rpc eg: gexp.exe --port "42786" --rpc --rpcaddr "192.168.1.x" --rpcport 9656 --rpccorsdomain "*" console Thank you, the --rpcaddr switch seemed to get it to connect, however it doesn't seem to get work from the gexp client and just sits there saying [timestamp] gpuminer0 workLoop 1 #00000000... #00000000 Currently googling and searching for an answer, but one here would be appreciated I had that happen with Ethereum. I reinstalled everything and it fixed it.

What price should be per 1 EXP?
can't tell yet. mining is amazing. people will dump for cheap. If I had to guess I would say 1/8 of what SHF is going for. so like... 2k satoshi max on bittrex. I wouldn't sell my EXP for this cheap. I would wait a month and see what happens. If difficulty increases a bunch and the block time becomes 1 minute the price should go up to 10k or more. If the price is 2k on bittrex I will buy a bunch. I would definitely pay 2k but hey if people want to sell for lower I will let them. There will probably be a big sell off since all of these coins are so cheap to mine. I won;t sell mine either. Too dumb. Easy come shouldn't mean easy sell.

It might have been code for "solo mining is too amazing to let more people in with easy pool mining" LOL jk. These coins are brand new and have lots of problems with them. It's very difficult stuff.

Think they are still updating the wallet to the newest version... its down for me. i wanted to buy a bit more at these low prices.

Did you guys pull off one of the manual coin swap scams or are my CENTS that I put in a paper wallet still working?

Hmm we invested in this coin from the beginning in the IPO but still haven't received a dividend so no idea what is happening here..We might need to request a refund or our dividends in a PM..I will give it 2 weeks for the Admin to give us an answer or we will have to write off as another scam .. ..So I hope it will not be a scam as I liked this coin. well mickghee https://twitter.com/Spayse_ is still active on bitcointalk and twitter. I guess that means this project is still alive.

welp mining ether/shift is easy peasy. tried my hand with other ether clones with little success.
Even though SHIFT devs are behind the scenes, it doesn't make this a bad coin. Development has been solid so far. For me the prove is in the development instead of who can speak and look the best in public.

An example of a DAO contract contract token { mapping (address => uint) public coinBalanceOf; function token() { } function sendCoin(address receiver, uint amount) returns(bool sufficient) { } }
contract Democracy {
uint public minimumQuorum; uint public debatingPeriod; token public voterShare; address public founder; Proposal[] public proposals; uint public numProposals;

struct Proposal { address recipient; uint amount; bytes32 data; string description; uint creationDate; bool active; Vote[] votes; mapping (address => bool) voted; }
struct Vote { int position; address voter; }
function Democracy(token _voterShareAddress, uint _minimumQuorum, uint _debatingPeriod) { founder = msg.sender; voterShare = token(_voterShareAddress); minimumQuorum = _minimumQuorum || 10; debatingPeriod = _debatingPeriod * 1 minutes || 30 days; }
function newProposal(address _recipient, uint _amount, bytes32 _data, string _description) returns (uint proposalID) { if (voterShare.coinBalanceOf(msg.sender)>0) { proposalID = proposals.length++; Proposal p = proposals[proposalID]; p.recipient = _recipient; p.amount = _amount; p.data = _data; p.description = _description; p.creationDate = now; p.active = true; ProposalAdded(proposalID, _recipient, _amount, _data, _description); numProposals = proposalID+1; } }
function vote(uint _proposalID, int _position) returns (uint voteID){ if (voterShare.coinBalanceOf(msg.sender)>0 && (_position >= -1 || _position <= 1 )) { Proposal p = proposals[_proposalID]; if (p.voted[msg.sender] == true) return; voteID = p.votes.length++; p.votes[voteID] = Vote({position: _position, voter: msg.sender}); p.voted[msg.sender] = true; Voted(_proposalID, _position, msg.sender); } }
function executeProposal(uint _proposalID) returns (int result) { Proposal p = proposals[_proposalID]; /* Check if debating period is over */ if (now > (p.creationDate + debatingPeriod) && p.active){ uint quorum = 0; /* tally the votes */ for (uint i = 0; i < p.votes.length; ++i) { Vote v = p.votes[i]; uint voteWeight = voterShare.coinBalanceOf(v.voter); quorum += voteWeight; result += int(voteWeight) * v.position; } /* execute result */ if (quorum > minimumQuorum && result > 0 ) { p.recipient.call.value(p.amount)(p.data); p.active = false; } else if (quorum > minimumQuorum && result < 0) { p.active = false; } ProposalTallied(_proposalID, result, quorum, p.active); } } }
Great job with creating this Democracy contract.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that I've had a chat with one of the devs and my first impression is that they do seem quite legitimate and are extremely passionate about shift. To add to that they also seem like they know what they are doing and clearly are experience coders.
Based on all of this, i have decided to join the team on a trial basis. In case you don't know who I am, I used to part of blackcoin, aidencoin, xc and then eventually blocknet so I have worked for a few cryptos before. If you have any questions then please PM me directly and I will be happy to answer them.
Thanks,
Daniel
Nice to see you here! Great to have more quality people involved. This is the first ethereum clone. I have a great feeling about this.

So this dev has a community that has made him a nice website, promo video, HTML5 wallet with social integration.. and he's not even here to support it. What a joke, other coins would kill to have this community. Sad to see
so sad sooooo sad

are we less than 2 hours away from mining launch?

I like the idea because I'm a developer. Devs need money, miners need money. Why not go 50/50 split?
It's fine that devs need money. However, at this moment premine is >90%. I actually have no idea how much the premine is. I doubt it's 90%. Block Reward: 8 Gas Limit: 31415926 Block Target: 60 seconds Listen Port: 60606 RPC Port: 9659 Reserve: 11 Million (Community Managed) Premine: 11M after 1st day: 11M + 8 * 60 * 24 = 11M + 11520, premine is 99.9% after 1st week: 11M + 8 * 60 * 24 * 7 = 11M + 80640, premine is 99.3% after 1st month: 11M + 8 * 60 * 24 * 30.5 = 11M + 351360, premine is 96.8% after 1st quarter: 11M + 8 * 60 * 24 * 30.5 * 3 = 11M + 1054080, premine is 90.4% after 1st year: 11M + 8 * 60 * 24 * 365 = 11M + 4204800, premine is 61.8% Call it however you want. That seems a bit excessive. Especially if Ethereum clones go PoS with minimal new coin generation in less than a year from today. Using this distribution method, this coin may end up being DApp heavy. DAPp are probably the most important thing. More important than miners, especially once it goes PoS. I have no idea which distribution method is the best so I'm going to support this coin. I will mine it, buy it and hopefully develop a DApp for it.
