while a lot of posts are simply spam for signature bounties, it's likely that many good posters might end up quitting aswell if there's no gain?

SIA needs a lot of marketing to advertise their storage services but their competitors like Dropbox, Amazon A3, Google Drive are too strong and popular. SIA needs to spend many millions of dollars on advertising to become popular.
but if we look at it long term, there's no reason to use those right? it's interesting to see in how many fields blockchain will rule!

could you elaborate a bit on this: 2. Do not keep very large amounts of Bitcoin (crypto) in a wallet that can be accessed on the internet. what do you mean?

is there any benefit for a coin to only allow CPU?

it's true that it's a reward, but at the same time, majority of internet forums through time has not needed any merit - most just has a post count. I think that says more about how the forum demographic changed!
|
|
|
if you go into Any thread, and look for the posts which isn't just "blabla", you'll likely see that the poster has merit. the key to gaining merit is probably realising that merit comes from other people, so to gain merit, you have to post something that will make others want to give you merit. that's it, there's no "special skills" required.

CoinMetro which held an ICO and is going to launch in december I think, they claim to be on track for having a card so it seems like it's possible.

many altcoins has, and will, go through some new stage of development this year, so instead of looknig at prices currently, try to find those!

No, the average person doesn't care if it's global, they don't care if it's decentralized. What the average person cares about is if it works to buy food and pay their bills. Now investors are quite a bit different beast and also well off global travelers.
this is a good reply so this thread didn't have to go to 5 pages perhaps, but if we think further, someone in power has to be both aware of the flaws in the current system, and want to "break free" from it? we don't need the middleman, but yet governments and banks are fighting so hard to keep it. to get to the next stage in civilization we must get past this point!

it never hurts to remind people, but if someone is looking to buy an account they're likely going to go for it regardless of a warning. and probably get scammed?
what's the point with "discouraging" against buying accounts, rather than just disallowing it?

so it's saying use an antivirus? they mention crypto-specific browser plugins, I'd like to expand that with NoScript which disables all javascript until manually approved, it's great.

only a small % is usually given to the bounties, hardly that can be the reason behind the price drop. it's usually the founders or people who got to buy in early+cheaper who dumps.

I got one version of this mail and it didn't go to junk, "luckily" there's many people who's had the same mail so just a quick googling showed that it was fake. although it should be informed more publically, likely many people has no idea what bitcoin is (i.e doesn't come on this site)

it's just a forum, not a job
Doing bounties is indeed a job for a lot of people. Especially posters from 3rd world counties earn a fortune in eg. signature bounties compared to what they can earn with a regular job. you might be right but the grammar necessary isn't "job-level", no bounty checks grammar do they? I'm not saying people shouldn't try to write properly but at the same time a forum is a bit like a chat with posts!

if the bounty managers are asked and claim KYC isn't required, but then afterwards demands it; that's indeed cheating bounty hunters. but it's also important that people really know what bounty they get into, I started a bounty once that didn't mention anything about KYC but after double-checking in telegram it was indeed required. so, sneaky

it's just a forum, not a job, as long as one can make themselves understood and just posting a comment it shouldn't matter too much. of course, proper grammar and formatting when creating a thread might make people more interested in reading/replying.

With Live do you mean they're 100% exposed as a scam but are still collecitng funds or?
For others to easily understand "LIVE", We can say that they are still actively/aggressively/continuing promoting their SCAM project despite of having reports that claims their scam activity. where currently are scams exposed, I assume googling would bring up some results but it seems like there should be something more officially like on .. cmc or the various trackers (etherscan etc)

You made a couple of great points there. The same logic applies to life in general. If you are focused too much on something that you want to get, focused to the point of despair, usually you never get it. And yes, you have to give in order to receive.
it's a common saying but why would it be true? chances to get something increase the more one tries shouldn't that be the case.
|
|
|
what chaos are you referring to? prices? and I think it's safe to say some big players are heavily manipulating the market with ease since it's still so small (300b but like $30b has gone in) and that's in all cryptos.
