341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lyra2rev mining please help me on: April 23, 2017, 07:38:37 PM
Hi Cereberus, mining with nicehash is convenient but they have quite high fee ( i think its 3 %). So mining directly with CC miner is more preferable.

As of your setup. Changing only address is not enough. I guess you need to change also the algorithm you mine ( not sure which one is set as optional ) together with username and pass (this depends on pool you are using ...  some requires address, others requires you to sign up and use your login)

Can you post your batch file content? ... without pass and username of course

I used to mine with CC miner 2.0 https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=770064
all you need is to create the bat file ( when running with bat file the miner skips the config file) with following info:
Quote
ccminer-x64 -i 20 -a lyra2rev2 -o (PUT HERE YOUR MINING POOL) -u (PUT HERE YOUR WORKER NAME or USER NAME) -p (PUT HERE YOUR PASS)

example:
ccminer-x64 -i 20 -a lyra2rev2 -o stratum+tcp://mona.suprnova.cc:2995 -u MyName.Worker1 -p x
( letter 'i'  stands for intensity, you can start with lower values to test it)

Also you can prepare a bat file for each algorithm (supported algos are listen in read me) and switch mining as you want.

100% SCAM

- claim the 28nm chip is more efficient than 16nm ...  what a nonsence
- the price is so low (and including PSU) ... why the hell would anybody sell such 'awesome miner' so low?
-  as a bonus it is dual miner (just in case such super efficient machine would not be profitable in BTC mining)

if anything, you receive just big fat box draining 700 watts but 'working' even without the internet connection (just showing you the amazing hashrate on our screen without the real mining)

346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to buy BTC in USA? (via cash/bank transfer) on: April 15, 2017, 11:32:13 AM
Hello everybody!

Sorry for the noob question but I have an issue with loading my cash to BTC. Please advise how can I make that in a right way?
Seems like WIRE transfer to BTC-E doesn't feet my needs cuz it may take several weeks before they approve it.

So I need a much more speedy way. Also the fee is very important too as we process great amounts.
Under 1% would be fine Smiley

Thanks in advance.

Hi grauss, I'm affraid you won't be able to get less than 1% fee ( quicker deposit = higher fee )

I think coinbase used to be good way to purchase BTC for US citizens. In past I purchased some BTC with CC ... it was quick but the fee was pretty high.
As of the cash you should search for a local trader at localbitcoins.com and meet him personally (or find trader using account with same bank). Alternatively you can try to find some bitcoin ATM near by.

348  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie question regarding the usage of Bitcoin address on multiple faucets on: April 07, 2017, 08:48:48 PM
@Wusolini,

Thank you very much.

Since using the same address for Faucethub.io is still not optimal, what's the better way?
There is no better way, maybe you can raise the payout limit to 1mBTC and more (not sure if this is possible with facethub). Such amounts are reasonable to use (but it will take ages to earn it with faucets).

so the best advice is not to use faucets.
It's not worth using faucets ( unless you have bunch of referrals ) because with the hard earned satoshis you can't buy anything ( almost half of them you are going spend on transaction fees). Trust me, I've been there (would say most of users found the same sooner or later).
Faucets are good just to test your wallet is working, but no further. Find a better way to earn BTC like selling items you don't need, offer your skills ...

Using same bitcoin address for multiple faucet or multiple payment receiving option can be acceptable.

But the address which you have for receiving Bitcoins must have its private key too. And blockchain is only who provide private key for wallet service. But drawback of blockchain is it takes fees. Better to use coinbase top receive faucet payments. Coinbase don't charge fees on transactions.

Coinbase don't charge fees on transactions ONLY BETWEEN COINBASE ACCOUNTS. But when sending out you are charged with standard fee.
349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie question regarding the usage of Bitcoin address on multiple faucets on: April 07, 2017, 02:44:54 PM
Actually, you can use an address multiple times without real danger. But, people easily could track your bitcoin movement if you use your bitcoin address many times.
Thank you. I just tried to get a new Bitcoin address from Blockchain.info, but Blockchain.info "generated" the same Bitcoin address for me. Is that because that Bitcoin address haven't been used by my first Bitcoin faucet for paying me (because I haven't been able to cash out)?

Yes, the wallet (blockchain.info) will offer you this address until it receive first transaction ... but still you can generate a new one ( in settings/addresses/manage ... you can generate as many as you wish).

You can use one wallet address into different faucets.  If the first faucet is the same to  the 2nd one you can generate another wallet on your blockchain wallet

.
Does "wallet address" mean Bitcoin address? Excuse me, but I don't understand the second sentence of yours. I found

a page on a Bitcoin wiki that says reusing the same address is not recommended.
Actually, you can use an address multiple times without real danger. But, people easily could track your bitcoin movement if you use your bitcoin address many

times.

Agree, the privacy reasons are more relevant for traders rather than faucet users.

The reason behind not recommending the single address for faucets is the "dust transactions" (a very small BTC payments). So after some time your BTC address would contain a lot of small transactions and when you decide to move them you will be surprised with a very high transaction fee. (this was issue in the past when most faucets were sending the payments directly to your wallet ... but using micropayment platforms like faucethub will minimize it).

You can safely use single address for faucethub (as the hub will unite your small rewards and send them to you in bigger chunks) ... still not optimal but better.
350  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashnet Cloud Mining - Feedback please on: April 03, 2017, 10:35:03 AM
Hmm i checked the site and it looks legit to me but of course at the first site even genesis mining felt legit to me.Cloud mining is really risky to  invest and get a profit and if they claim to be legit and are actually mining then it can take more than year and a half to just get your investment back. It's better if you invest in any dice site and leverage 1 and enjoy 1% profit per month.
Invest in a dice site?
You jest right? Undecided
How is investing in a site where gambling in bits be more profitable then a cloud mining site even if it is considered a ponzi scheme at least you would get back you investment in a year. While putting your btc into a dice site you are not guaranteed to get your invest back within that same time frame.
Atleast you know those miners are working to get hash and you don't know if these dice sites will sudden decide to fold and close up shop because someone won the entire bank in an impossible roll due to probably fairness imposed on these sites.
Doesn't make much sense to me. Embarrassed

Are you implying the cloud mining company are not going to fold? What if BTC price drops so much the mining is not profitable? You will be loosing money or your contract will be cancelled (like genesis m. is doing ... notice I wrote CANCELED and not put ON HOLD till price climbs back up).

You can always withdraw your investments from casino but from cloudmining? How would you get your invest back if you decide to quit? You would have to sell the account or so.
Also it's improbable for player to win entire casino bankroll ( max amount to win is usually only fraction of it ). Player would have to be superlucky and win multiple times in row.

351  Other / Off-topic / Re: Silent compact miner? on: April 02, 2017, 08:48:49 PM
Hello, what would you recommend for a small and quiet miner? If I take sha256 miner that is small and quiet it will probably not be so fast (~5TH), so I think it would be better to buy scrypt miner that can produce more money and exchange that for BTC?

Hi, the only actual home miner for BTC (with latest chip version) is R4 (+8TH) from bitmain but be advised they are quite faulty and not small ( you know SMALL and FAST contradicts each other).
I would definitely wait for miners using Bitfury's 16nm chip ( but they are not on public market yet, maybe you could follow user sidehack. He's developing some ... currently a very compact miner called 2pac)

About scrypt miner I have heard about L3 (again bitmain). No personal experience but I've read it's not loud so much ( will try to find the reference )

Quite popular are also X11 to X15 coins mined with e.g. baikalminers (have no experience as well, do some search)

EDIT: here's the L3 ref.
...
So far it looks like power draw is consistent.  Power use climbs as the ambient temps climb and the fan runs faster.  And as I just reported the power use drops as the ambient temps drop and the fan speeds dropped.  In either case even  when the fan is running at higher speeds it does not ever really get "loud".  I would say noise from the miner is on par with a GPU rig.  So not loud at all really.  ...

353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the 'amount' requested when genning a new address? on: April 02, 2017, 11:25:44 AM
Hey,

I noticed on a few spv wallets that on generating a new receive address, I'm prompted to enter the amount I'm receiving.

Thing is I rarely if ever know the amount. Because of the fact that the fees vary from one exchange to another. Besides, there is also the miner's fee which is a bit of a mystery to me, still.

What is the purpose of this 'amount' and what happens if it doesn't match the amount which eventually arrives at the address?

Thanks

This is very useful feature for sellers when creating unique address for each customer with locked price.
If you put in an amount it will create payment request code so customer just scan the QR (or click the link) and confirms sending (he does not need to put in the amount nor the address ... all is already locked in) thus eliminate sending wrong amount.

What happens if you put in wrong amount? The customer will send you that wrong amount ( if he does not double check it ) = serious problem.

Example:
payment request looks like: "bitcoin:ADDRESS?amount=XXX&message=YYYY"
and if you put the above text into url tag the link will open your wallet and pre-fill the address, amount and description (you can try the link bellow to see what happens)

Example link:
payment request link

P.S: quote this post to see how the link look like, do not send me anything its just example

EDIT (after post below): OK, I did not understand the question and answered off topic. I have no experience with shapeshift so I'm not going to advise you.
I can only assume it's not necessary to put a value in wallet B .. just skip it if possible.

Do not worry about your rank. It should be spontaneous ... once you deserve it you get it.

IMO everyone focusing to his rank has some ulterior motives ... like earning trust just to be able to scam a higher amounts or to sell the account once become higher member ( 2nd thing I hate most )
Not saying it is always true, just my personal opinion.

BTT: Maybe it will surprise you but rank is purely about number of posts (not the quality). I'm hero and my post quality is disputable but I don't care about rank ( I'm just glad if I can help others, catch scammers or simply having fun )

Thanks for your honest comment on this topic and yes I also believe that though we can't deny that many of us here for some ulterior motives we can help the forum by participating and sharing our ideas and opinions on many matters relative to cryptocurrency.

Now, I have seen members here like you who have an equal activity points and number of posts while there are those who are only getting 25% activity points compared to their number of posts...what can really account for that discrepancy?

There is limit. You can't get more than 14 activity in 2 weeks so if you made 50 posts within this period you still get only 14 activity.

Hey all fellow NastyFans. Auctioned a seat some time ago and I'm happy to be part of this enthusiast club. Sadly I have not so much to contribute our group but hope I'll come up with something in future. What I really like is the Green Energy Project, which to my opinion is a big step forward and we all should follow this path ( if only more of us could afford such thing ). Good job OgN you have made a NastyGood setup there (but the house is also pretty).

That's all I wanted to say. Looking fwd to further collaboration. Keep up being nasty.

BTW I'm curious whether the seats have some sort of numbering? Just to know to whom am I sit next to ( and fighting for the armrest with )
