441  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ignore list of gaudy paid signature users (3700+ users) on: December 18, 2016, 05:36:27 PM
In certain way I agree with your attitude. Myself participated in few sig. campaigns but have to end it because I'm not talkative enough to fulfill the campaign requirements and had to make some not fully relevant posts so I know what you are talking about.
But I'm pretty sure there is lot of users who deserves the rewards because they make relevant post in much higher counts than what is required from them. Just be aware the simple generalization is not always fair.

IMO The vast amount of guilt rest on shoulders of campaign operators because they require min. amount of posts thus forcing users to make useless comments, threads etc. In this I fully agree with you.
But for what is the signature space for if not for promoting my favorite sites, services etc?

Currently my signature contains reflinks to my favorite services (  which in certain way is also kind of paid signature ) but I won't beg you to remove me from your list.
Because to be honest: I don't care .. list whoever you want. I would care if you would personally check every single listed user and point out his misconduct.

P.S How about activity hunters? To me they cause very same harm to forum quality. What about making list of everybody who create new post ( in general )?

Check this video:
https://youtu.be/4dzgMp-CgRI
It could be funny if this video have been the theme sound! Grin

lol ... sorry to say but it sounds really unprofessional .... so amateurish I had to laugh right after hearing few flute (or whatever instrument it is) tones. Not sure if this was your intention.
It's so bad it's good and given name "Drunk version" fits pretty well. GJ

+1 for making me laugh but I don't think this ever become theme for anything.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Btc and alt mining hardware on: December 18, 2016, 03:14:41 PM
I want to know that is bitcoin mining and altcoin mining can be done with same hardware that is with ASIC?? Or altcoin mining requires any other type of hardware?Huh Huh

It all depends how the ASIC is designed. e.g in past I used Gridseeds to mine scrypt coins but I also could use them to mine BTC (that time I considered Scrypt mining more profitable)
so the answer is YES, you can use same HW (if such ASIC is designed for)

P.S there are also specific coins called CPU COINS purposely designed to be ASIC & GPU resistant.
444  Other / Off-topic / Re: Captchas question- Health related on: December 18, 2016, 01:33:11 AM
Any repetitive simple task could cause some harm ... like captchas where you are putting just random sets of letters ... but nothing serious, it won't turn you into brainless zombie. Some of them can be even educational ... myself I have learned few english words just because did not know their meaning and search for the translation.

445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should i Trust Genesis Mining on: December 18, 2016, 01:01:00 AM
The general answer is YES, you can trust them because they are legit registered company.

BUT

Will you make a profit? NO.

It is well calculated to be profitable for them ( not for you ) ....  I guess only in case huge profits they will share small part for you (probably).
Sadly I have purchased one contract in past and can say the payouts appeared too fishy to me.

Why?
Because I think they calculate it purely in fiat.
e.g you buy $200 contract and get paid $220 .. so far it looks like profit ... but when the BTC price goes up, you are getting smaller amount of BTC (just to get the right amount BTC equal to $220 according current price).
and this is the catch. How come the miner mines less BTC when the price goes up? No way. This is not how it works, miner do not cares about BTC price.

The only profit I made is through my referrals. But have to say I'm not proud of it ... actually I feel ashamed for promoting them ( that time I believed it's a good investment ).

Final conclusion: Stay away from them.

446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashnest's PACMiC experience on: December 18, 2016, 12:06:30 AM
Is your investment amount in BTC? If so, is 1 BTC invested with ROI of 2.95%, a profit of 2.95% in total? The amount of days, is that how long it took you to get ROI? How profitable are these contracts...I was thinking of starting one.
Have you ever just purchased a miner on hashnest instead? I really want to try mining again, but am super weary of not breaking even.

Yes, the invested value is in BTC and amount of days is simple how long the contract last. In other words: invested 1 BTC and after 100 days got 1.0295 BTC ( 2.95 % ).
I've never bought full miner ... only trade some hashes and made small profit by buying low and selling high rather than by the mining itself ( it was before hashnest implemented selling fee ).

Cloud mining doesn't worth. I think it's impossible to mine the same amount of BTC you invested. The only way to make profit with this kind of investment is when the BTC price increases a lot meanwhile your coins are invested on cloud mining. This way you hit ROI and make some profit.

But what people don't say is that you can make a better profit just holding BTCs instead investing on this kind of site. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

I agree with you. In general all cloudmining contracts are usually well calculated to be profitable for the operator and you will not get back invested BTC ...  but I dare to say the pacmic is a bit different.
You basically lend them your BTC and they are paying you back the invested amount in small doses (based on real mining shares) + profit ... and this is the interesting part ... the longer it takes them to find the block the more profit you get ( read the terms to see the formula how profit is calculated )

447  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: December 12, 2016, 11:09:54 PM
How as an individual can I know if the Earth is a sphere or a flat disc? What experiment can I do that doesn't involve trusting information from a 3rd party that would prove what the geometry really is?

Go to a church, ask them what they believe.  The truth is usually the opposite.

LOL you got me, just spit out half of my dinner all over the keyboard (damn you Vod) ... but it's a good point and I agree.

Hey all, just would like to try a little experiment ... maybe it's STUPID idea but I want to try .... perhaps it will be fun.

I guess everybody is familiar with WORD SOCCER GAME ( first persons kicks off a word and next one has to find word which begins with same letter the previous one ends with.. and so on ).

STUPIDO is more complex game because you have to only describe the the word using other words (you can't say it directly otherwise you loose) and you have to use TWO LAST LETTERS.
If anybody makes a mistake ( should not happen here because we are going to use hashes to confirm the previous word ) he became an 'STUPIDO' and GAME IS OVER - have to say there is NO REWARD ( just wanted to describe the game principle so you can try it with friends, it's quite fun )

Key of this game is to make as much long chain as we can, so do not try to play words you do not know what could follow ...  just to make it bit interesting.

GAME EXAMPLE:
Let's the first word would be: GOAL
Next guy wants to say e.g ALUMINIUM ( but has to describe it ) so he can say "chemical element atomic number 13"
Another one has to find word beginning with UM .. like UMBILICAL ( and here I'm out of game because I can't describe it using other words  .. I'm not a native english speaker. )
etc.

Got it?
If not please check the first 4 post
and if still not sure do not post question here, your post will be removed.
Ask questions, provide feedback and discuss in STUPIDO - help & discussion

RULES:
1 - You have to use LATS TWO LETTERS of previous word
2 - It must be ENGLISH DICTIONARY WORD ( no abbreviations, language mutations )
3 - ALWAYS put a SHA256 hash of your word at the end of post (so the following user can check he is correct )
4 - ALWAYS check the previous hash ( to know you guess it right ) .. otherwise it will be messy and kinda ruin the game.
5 - ALWAYS use CAPITAL LETTERS
6 - You can SWAP THE LETTERS but make a note about doing so

NOTE: Please double check your HASH before posting because any space after or before the word will confuse other players.

EVERYTHING CLEAR?
GAME START:

So let's start with word: STONE
HASH: d217e1d39a7ad66b4788205d1353c7db3e2882d9414b9e18cd56b084539b6ddb

453  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where to cashout? on: December 12, 2016, 07:28:31 PM
I used to use circle to cashout bitcoin to USD. I was told they no longer allow that?

Where can I cash out to my bank account at reasonable rates? Coinbase at 1.5% is way too much.

I think cex.io used to had a fixed fee ( not based on percentage ) for bank transfer. It was huge but it depends on how much you want to withdraw.

10. Nobody knows who invented it. Well somebody does, but they’re not telling
I don't think any single person know about real identity of satoshi/inventor of bitcoin. Nobody have mentioned that satoshi have shared his identity to some people before you.

....

Someone mentioned this (and it is not just anybody) ... quite time ago I've been reading through old threads and found this interesting post made by Theymos.

455  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Double your Bitcoins in 200 hours - Guaranteed Payment on: December 11, 2016, 07:38:09 PM
I smell scam miles away ... simple rule: Whenever I see a service offering "DOUBLE YOUR INVESTMENTS"  without following "OR LOSE IT ALL" ... a BIG RED FLAG pops up my head.

Sure, OP can claim the profits are backed up by "EXPERIENCED TRADERS" and similar bullshit but there's no way to guarantee a steady continuous profit because even the most advanced, experienced, gifted or whatever trader can have a bad day (or longer time period)  ... and what then?

@OP: Why do you call this an investment? Just say how it's ... a bloody gambling without provably fair feature. If the investor ( gambler ) will be very lucky maybe he can see his investments back but I seriously doubt. Go to hell for this.

Friendly advice: DO NOT ENTER THIS SCAM.

As much as I love donating, I'd only donate to a few who really need it to buy food to eat or are in military homes. Next amount of money I give has to be an investment.

Well, let's see if you do! How long ago did you start using BTC? Are you a low income home owner? Facing any debt? Struggling to any degree? Give me as much detail as possible to higher your chances of getting a donation.

I do not fit your scope because I'm living in a rent, have a job with above average pay, not facing any debts and since a year ago I do not live from paycheck to paycheck anymore but I'm pretty sure you won't find here people who " really need it to buy food to eat or are in military homes". Such people have other things to struggle with and won't be able to access the internet to post here and if so, they are simply lying about their situation ... so my opinion.

Just be careful in trusting newbies with low activity and registration date after this OP ( btw I'm quite surprised this thread is not flooded with them yet ).

Here's my proposal, put your BTC in some interest wallet ( I trust BW and HaoBTC ) and redirect the profit to redcross, salvationarmy or similar charity. You can always withdraw BTC back and donate them directly.

Good luck. I wish your BTC won't end up in wrong hands.

457  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help i fucked up on: December 08, 2016, 10:06:04 PM
Sorry for your loss but you have learned a lesson you probably never forget.

If a bitcoin transactions could be reversed then everybody would require additional information about your person ( just to be able to hunt you in case you reverse it and service or goods were already provided to you ). That's why any credit card, paypal or similar paying methods needs you to reveal/prove you identity.
Anonymity is great bitcoin feature but at cost of certain risks (you have faced one of them). I guess the only thing we can advise is to be more careful next time.

Hi! I'm Cateciva! I'm here to answer any questions you may have for me if you think they'll help you become more acquainted with BTC! Several years ago, I started holding bitcoin. About 20 to be exact. I had forgotten all about bitcoin until I heard the news BTC was up to almost 1k which means my coins are worth $15k! I'm super excited to share my success story for any beginners here, so ask away! I'm very generous with BTC, so I can even donate to you. I'll only donate half a  coin. Anything higher is an investment.

Ask away!

You were lucky, good for you. Would be great to share more details about your story (why did you purchased BTC? Was it intentional or you just tried and forgot about them?)
I guess there is much more people like you. Actually anybody who purchased some BTC before the great price peek at the turn of  2013 is in similar situation but I don't think it is wise from you to just donate it to anybody who asks.

Don't know your financial situation maybe you can afford it (personally I'm quite greedy and every single BTC I earned so far has a value for me and definitely would not give them away). but if I were in your position I would rather focus to support development of new bitcoin service like wallet, auction, social or gambling site (check the development section).
To my opinion this contributes to bitcoin community much more than donating few random users who can just gamble it off (you never know).

Nevertheless we have an adage in my native language "Stupid who gives, stupider who rejects" (no offence, I'm not even sure if it makes sense when translated) so I'll just give a try and ask you to donate me 0.2 BTC (find addy in my profile).

460  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: starting 2017 how can i get 1-2 BTC A Month ( Cloud mining ) on: December 05, 2016, 06:56:18 AM
Hi All  BTC Miners

I tried to calculate it so many times yet i couldn't   Huh ,

About - Cloud mining - using any site - ebot , hashflare , genesis mining , onehasher , or whatever ; I aim for hashflare i dont know why

BTC is now about 730 $  , assume i want to invest in -CM- how much Hash Power i must get Per ( Tera\h )

i think to reach   1-2 BTC a month that would be great for me at starting .

Again How Much hash power to  1 or 2 BTC a month  ??

After quick calculation based on ViaBTC S9 mining contract I see you need 100+ Th to get estimated income 2 BTC/month ( in other words you'd have to invest 20+ BTC )

ViaBTC contract details ( see: https://www.viabtc.com/contract/s9/ )

Price: 0.21 BTC Per SHARE
Minimal Amount: 1 SHARE
Estimated Daily Earnings: 0.00068279 BTC Per SHARE

But be aware of the mining difficulty. It changes every other week and nobody knows how much.
