781  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin anonymous? on: August 23, 2014, 01:48:29 PM
hello one question,Is Bitcoin anonymous?

Not itself, depends on how you handle with your address (if you post your name and addy together, anonymity is gone).
Use pseudonyms and new addy for every transaction, that should give you certain level of anonymity.
782  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GAWminer black widow and mining ... Begginer... on: August 23, 2014, 01:44:03 PM
Hi there people. Im a complete noob in bitcoins, miners, altcoins or whatever.. I watched only couple videos on how to configure your miner and so, but completely lost. I have ordeder my GAWminer Black widow with 13MHS i think.. What can you tell me about this one? is it going to be useful at nowadays? AND most biggest question, when I get this miner at home, what should i do to keep him running.. is it hard to confugre to solo or multipools mining? maybe im too noob for this kinda job? please help me.. point me somehere..

And for mining, can i get most of pools, multipools or whatever, or just try to solo mine and get most of it?

you will get better support in altcoins/mining section (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0),
As you are new, I recommend you to use multipools. Easy setup plus they will take care of mining most profitable coin and sell it. You'll get bitcoins directly into your wallet.

average income is around 0.0003 BTC per Mhs daily. (So You will get 0.0039 BTC daily), but this number is decreasing (two weeks ago it was around 0.0004 BTC per Mhs daily).

disadvatage of solomining is that you can possibly waste your time by mining useless coins (uderstand coins which price is dropping rapidly). Also you need to have wallet for this coin, and to be honest I don't think it's good to have multiple clients installed on your system.

783  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is a newbie to get a bitcoin? on: August 23, 2014, 01:06:56 PM
I haven't had much luck  with mining. I tried websites such as BitVisitor, but they don't work. How to people use businesses to earn bitcoin?

try this: http://trybtc.com/

and I also recommend you to sign in a signature campaign.
784  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is this on: August 23, 2014, 01:04:49 PM
oh ok funny answers here Smiley
i get this thing for free what can i exectly mine with it. and how can i get it run?
thanks for your answers they made my day Smiley

Use it to mine with some auto-switching pool (coinsolver, coinshift, wafflepool, clevermining, middlecoin etc.)
You will get bitcoins directly into your wallet.

Agree, no info - no sign in. Even from your website I don't know what am I getting into.

P.S. haha, Muhammed's sign contains very similar site (differ in one letter only)... and also lack of info.

I am in his campaign. Cheesy It is the same site. Smiley Probably, you are mistaken. The site is nice but for attraction, he should post info. That's what I told. Smiley

Ok,  but I'm pretty sure you had there "coinplier" before, have you correct it?  Wink

786  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: i want to give 100 BTC to one user on bitcointalk. tell me why it is U. on: August 23, 2014, 10:33:05 AM
Doesn't sound like this is going anywhere, but doesn't cost much to post; just a little bit of time in exchange for the small chance of getting a lot of money seems fair.

So what would I do with 100BTC? At the current prices?
HODL!!!

What does HODL stands for?   Grin

Although low level of transparency it was quite interesting.

Congrats to winner.

Thanks for the feedback, next time I'll have to be more transparent on that part. I just wanted to use a method where you can actually influence the results without yourself actually knowing. Any suggestions on how to have a high level of transparency while at the same time maintaining the excitement that anything you do can inch you closer to winning?

The idea of not knowing how to raise our chances is great. Just the last step (the draw) was no so provable fair  - who knows how many times you made a draw? - No offence.

At least, you could post screen shot of random.org draw. In advance you could state time of draw and include it into screenshot (e.g. open http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx in next window and snip it together with random.org setup and result)

790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why people scare to show their identity if they are doing legal on: August 22, 2014, 11:20:28 PM
I have a question that why people scare to show their identity if they are doing legal? Why people do not use real identity??? It makes here a more trustable market!!

Because if you became really successful, anonymity can save you lot of troubles.
Sure, there are some ppl who needs to flaunt their success, but then they have to deal with annoying spammers,  beggars etc.
personally, if I would ever be a millionaire, I'd be much happier when nobody knows. But this depends on personality.
791  Other / Meta / Re: Trust network question on: August 22, 2014, 11:08:47 PM
I see that on the left side of my nick trust is 1 (0)

but in my trust network i have 9 ppl so it should say 9 (0) ?!

792  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why has Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared??? on: August 22, 2014, 07:35:11 PM
Anybody got any idea? Why doesn't the organization or person reveal itself? Why doesn't he work for it anymore?

Very simple answer. Because he (or better to say his idea) is pain in the ass of governments, national banks and generally all people manipulating world using their possessions. Bitcoin just don't fit to their plans. And what you will do when somebody ruins your plans?

I fully understand his decision to stay anonymous.

793  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is POW? on: August 22, 2014, 07:15:52 PM
I'm interested in knowing the advantages and disadvantages of both? Can anyone explain please?

Read this, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27787.0  it's quite interesting discussion.

794  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 22, 2014, 07:13:15 PM
Because after double click to my wallet (wallet properties window) and double click to any address (address information window), there is list of transactions but nothing can be done further. I'd like to have there right click to "transaction info window".

I see what you mean, I'll get add it but you'll have to wait for the next release to enjoy it.

That's great, looking forward.

I have to report a wierd issue happen to me now.

Few minutes ago I received payment from coinshift and Armory shown me two separate transactions.
First thought was, Hurray, a double payment. But then I look closer and both are with same tx ID.
So I decide to restart armory and after that, this transaction is gone. But I can see it on blockchain ... Huh So now there is difference in balance between blockchain and my armory wallet.

Assume, now I have corrupted blockchain, and have to download new one. Right?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks

What version are you using?  For a brief period of time, we had released a version that suffered from a duplicate transaction issue exactly as you describe.

Either way, to fix it you don't need to redownload the blockchain.  Simply wait for it to get at least one confirmation, and if there's still a duplicate, use "Help->Rescan Databases".  Should take 30 minutes.

I'm always up to date, whenever Armory announce new ver. I download it immediately. At the moment I have ver. 0.92.1-beta. I'll do the rescan an will post here the result.

Thanks for advice.

EDIT: Rescan worked, it's OK now. Was so simple, I am ashamed of myself for not trying it prior making this useless post.

Everyone gets told its pointless to mine, but we need miners for BTC to function. So whats the deal? who is getting profits there then?

Yea, people generally discourage newbies from mining, but to my opinion it's not the best advice because more unique miners = better security for bitcoin network.
I think better advice is: Wanna try? OK, collect some info and go for it, but do not expect great profit and definitely DO NOT INVEST ALL YOU HAVE - bitcoin is still sort of experiment.

Back to topic.

Welcome fellow-miner Someoldpikey, I like your attitude and agree with you. Mining is interesting and has some sort of magic around. So don't let ignorant users (I mean those with simple answers "do no mine") to ruin your idea, if you wanna try, go for it. But make some calculations first.

Little advice
Calculate how much 1 Ghs cost you and compare price with some cloudmining service (e.g. PB minig current price is around 0.0028 BTC/Ghs). But also take into account you have to take care of setup and el. bills. while mining by own.
Perhaps will be better for you to use their service. Sure, this also has pros and cons but final decision is up to you.

Good luck with your project.

No offence.
