Thanks! Oh yeah,  I knew what you meant. What I meant was at the end of the day, everything is trust. You must trust a wallet or platform. MAR has a new wallet and anonymous dev. Weighing your offerings against Topia I for now must go with Topia. A coin with little attention gets little scrutiny, no way for me to verify this is legit. But obviously I have some trust in this or I wouldn't be bothering to invest and discuss....And in time I will definitely be staking with your wallet and using your platform marketplace as well.

Same here, no way I'm using a platform anytime soon. Honestly, I'm keeping my coins on topia for now despite losing the staking. I figure they'll be better at spotting scammy wallets better than i can. Didn't cryptsy "supposedly" get taken down from a low level coin with a trojan in its wallet code? No thanks. The only cheap coins i trust wallets from have been around for years and are well tested live.

Yup, same story for all of these old well maintained coins. As crypto goes mainstream, the wider entrepreneurial class will want in. They won't be satisfied to just be investors as small fish in the big pools of BTC, ETH, LTC.... The "small" investor with only a few million also won't have the capital or the name to launch a new coin of their own with any hope of success. If they want to be a big player in something, their best bet will be the old coins. Already has a core community. Code quality has been proven by the test of time. . . .With the way alt volumes have exploded the last few months, I wouldn't be surprised if someone of that nature was already here quietly acquiring coins. If so welcome! haha


If crypto is the new bigger than dot com explosion, it hasn't even begun yet. Facebook has a market cap of 430 billion and is an NA only, losing relevance company, cryptos altogether have a market cap of 80 billion.

Don't think its anything ground breaking, but still plenty of reason to buy. Market cap especially, its hard to find coins cheaper than this. Devs seem busy and wallet design looks good enough too, but these aren't innovations they're necessities.

For me though main reason I'm here is the name. Like you say there are many similar coins, none of them tremendously innovative or valuable. Marijuanacoin makes more sense than a lot of the other naming options out there. The "Cannabis" named coins are too medical sounding and the street named coins "pot, dope, kush..." are too far the other way (dispensaries want to distance themselves from street terms for their product).  "Marijuana" is the best word to use as it strikes the balance between recreational vs medical use of MJ.

But again, look at the market cap. You can get a lot for little investment. Its a lotto ticket this one: potentially huge payoff, but also good chance you'll lose everything.

Polo is all about what's new. Been some great coins brutally delisted as well. I don't think they'll ever add FTC, would be awesome but probably never happen. Best thing to do is give your business to Bittrex, Cryptopia, BTER, 19800 and whoever else carries the coins you like. Pretty much anything polo has other exchanges have (except HUC i think). Its not good for Polo to dominate so much.

I agree. The big wallets on FTC have been around for years too. They roll over into new wallets once in while, but they're always there. Even during the big spike last summer, they held and didn't sell.

Very true, but hopefully that shifts, not good overall for so much weight on polo compared to other exchanges. MYR was delisted from polo and barely lost anything in price (after a few weeks anyways) and trex volumes are ever rising. Also, ton of CNY trading going on too throwing the volume numbers out of wack. BTER, which sucks and hardly has any BTC volume, has some crazy millions floating around in CNY.

I like to look at market cap and rankings.

FTC on a weaker day is top #100 on coinmarketcap. Thats 100% gain from where we are now.

On a great day FTC hits top 50 (+500%).

On an amazing day it gets into the top 25 (+2000%)- also not impossible given where it peaked last year.

Interesting, what was the purpose of the giant burn? Sorry, new to this party. Thanks so much for the continuity. Coin market cap still thinks the supply is 522k - from the old explorer i guess. So were they showing an adjusted supply somehow not accounting for the huge burn? They couldn't have been depicting the burned amount + real circulation, as 522k is less than 45% of the 1.44 mil showing on the new block explorer...

I'm still here and still lurking. Pledged some donations to a new dev, and will definitely follow through when its clear things are happening. I'm also a professional video designer and marketer. When Im feeling secure this thing is on the rails, I'll definitely help out as well.

MAR isn't going to kill other MJ coins....but at >10k market cap, buying now if its even a minor success you'll get 10-20X your investment back at some point....Still a big IF though, haha. Has a nice wallet and the best name, but not much else going for it.

I'll meet the top donator and contribute 3k MAR to a new dev. That puts us over 10k if ppl are still around of course.....

Missed this comment....Dope is a great name toward the illegal product, its cool and appropriate- also the illegal market is huge. But I can't see why anyone would want to draw attention to themselves by using a currency that is named after the illegal product being purchased. Why draw attention to yourself like that? How easy would that make it for law enforcement if they only need to look at the cryptos with pot related names. For the illegal product, using something that is cutting edge anonymous and named unrelated to pot seems to make more sense....I only really see the pitch for the MJ coins being toward legit businesses trying market a prescription drug. Prescription drugs don't often get marketed using their street names.

Please, no offense, but I would never buy into your project given the name. Dispensaries are trying to legitimize themselves by distancing from street terms like "Dope" "Pot" and "Kush". I don't see how any of those coins have a chance of convincing serious businesses to adopt them.

Can we verify that things are decentralized here though? If there is no block explorer or rich list, its hard to tell what exactly is happening with supply.... I agree though 100%. A crypto is trustworthy if running properly. Doesn't matter at all who created it and why. Seen plenty of bad launches, heavy premines even total scams survive for years to come. If the coin itself is good, a new community can always pick up the torch.

Where/why do you figure the volume is fake though? What benefit is there to buy/selling to yourself? Don't think its at risk of de-listing yet so Cryptopia probably doesn't care too much about their fees yet. But you're absolutely right, it must be fake. Otherwise the entire coin supply would be changing hands in just a couple days.

Totally agree too about where this could have gone with just a little effort. What a waste....But alas i didn't hear of this coin until just a couple days ago, so better for me that it didn't go that way! Hopefully we can profit on the aftermath.

Huge amounts of this coin seem to be changing hands. With a market cap of 9k, somehow it has stayed on Coinmarketcap's high volume list with 1-2k trading per day. That's a crazy amount of total supply moving around. Definitely some accumulation going on.

At the end of the day, despite seeing all that has happened here, "Potcoin" is a friggin terrible name for a crypto going after the dispensaries business and it has a market cap of 10 million. That industry is trying to distance itself from the word "Pot". Marijuanacoin is 1/1000th the price. If this coin is working properly and has a better name, I figure the potential is amazing. Very little BTC can get you a pretty big stake in this coin.
