Yeah I don't know who he's talking to either. I'm a holder of 800k mzc and haven't sold 1. Just trying to have a discussion that the price needs to be corrected since its pointless to have the Lakota's adopt this currency if it's worthless. It needs to have a much better value assigned to it in order to bring to the tribe and say, "this 25 Mill premine is for all the people and it's current value is X dollars." As it stands, why would the tribe adopt it if they know each member will only get a couple of bucks? So price does matter and should be the foundation of getting this accepted. How it's distributed and what good it can do should be only after a realistic price has been established. So you can't make plans to build schools, roads, new stores, etc... when their premine is worthless.
Sorry man, that's not the right way to think about it. You need to get out of the USD mindset. If every Lakota was getting "a couple bucks" that means they would sell whatever MZC they got from the reserve. That's the opposite of what anyone would want to happen. The hope is that Lakotas take and hold Maza and start using it to trade amongst each other...Thereby the 'value' per coin would come from what you can buy with it, not what its worth in USD. All cryptos are assuming the inevitable death of USD at which point it ceases to be a measure of value. |

Us experienced day traders have been here from the start, but every time we even slightly suggested there might be a problem we got called FUD spreaders, or shills, or government agents for christ's sake! Well, we have our profits and you have your Maza - isn't that the way you wanted it? As to the naysayers and haters.
I don't think they're here to push down price, not worth the bother and I don't think its effective. I also don't think they're here out of spite, no one would hang on that long after they cut their loss and ran. So what does that leave? Bitcoiners worried about the rise of national currencies, maybe, but they've got their own things to worry about and should by now expect that alts will succeed as BTC succeeds - there will be no bitcoin only future. So maybe Fudsters are from the gov? I don't think so, they would be much more concerned with Bitcoin right now to bother.
What does that leave? Racism. Now I'm not accusing those who are here for legit conversation, I can be critical too, but I'm referring to the people that just won't give up saying the same things over and over with a very negative attitude. The old thread definitely had some racist comments earlier on, but they died down after it was evident how ineffective that is for rallying support. I believe the ones who really can't leave it alone and seem to be here despite no stake in the coin are here because they see the potential in this coin and will do whatever necessary to fight it out of hatred. Prove me wrong, explain what the motivation could possible be.
Whatever the scope of this thread and the last. I promise you day traders and fudsters are not here to save you money. Figure out why they're here for yourself.

Value against BTC/USD matters for investors and those wishing to use MZC externally, but it has no effect on its ability to function as a currency for the Lakotas. Remember the eventual goal of any crypto is to be traded for real goods and labour (not transferred first into another currency). In that usage as a real currency, stability is of issue but overall value is irrelevant. Say 10 mins work is worth 1 loaf of bread. If you pay me for 10 mins work in MZC and I am able to use that MZC to buy 1 loaf of bread at the local Lakota bakery, the system works. The amount of MZC we traded between each other is irrelevant as long as values of real world things are accurately accounted.

Why don't you guys just sell all or part of yer Maza holdings and put it into something more stable until you find out what Maza is gonna' do. I got all mine in LiteCoin right now.
It's not gonna' rocket up to 5000 overnight so you'll have PLENTY of time to buy back in when and if it does.
Try not to get so emotionally attached to Maza or ANY coin for that matter.

Claims that miners dumping is causing price drops are either intended to deceive or the ramblings of the confused. No one can possibly know who is selling or why, its all speculation. Its entirely possible that not a single person mining MZC sold a coin today and that all the sells have been panickers or people that just chose to move on.

Just wanted to update, still collecting pledges towards a volunteer airdrop of MZC to Lakotas. I think we were up to about 50k in pledges. This thread is sooo busy though, and I'm sooo busy, I'll need to go back through everything here and then start another thread dedicated only to that purpose.
more 2 cents...All this talk of how much needs to be invested daily is silly. Mined coins don't necessarily all get auto sold, neither do all held coins stay held. Market cap goes up when new coins are created, doesn't matter if they were bought or not. Unit price is determined solely by how much people are buying and selling for. . . .Lots of coins being created is also how you attract lots of miners, which seems to be working. You need to strike a balance between size of a premine and potential for newcomers - otherwise its useless to the demographic or uninteresting for outsiders. Did they strike a balance here? I don't know, no one is an expert, this is all new all over.

I think the idea itself and P.Harris work is so amazing this will skyrocket what ever we do.
I am animator so if anyone comes up with a good idea for utube video, I could build one some in a weekend. What could the animation/video have, any ideas?
I think it was really cool have P. Harris said "He is back on the Wall Street". Wall Street was a wall build against the natives (he said). Maybe some story about this. A 20 second promotional animation?

Cool! I'm a videographer by profession. I can write scripts and do voice overs as well if you need. . . I was thinking a longer 1 minutish video that combines animations and real pics and footage of Lakotas: land, culture, music etc . . .I make cartoonish videos for cryptos, but I think its a bit too goofy for this coin (some real pics of Lakotas is essential i think). Now some of you may disagree, but Bitcointalk is probably one of the most important altcoin sites to post announcements on. It is where newbs and active investors come to chat with one another and look at the next coin to invest in (At least for me it is). Even if there is an altcoin forum, it is less attractive to join in on that forum than bitcointalk. So what I suggest for the members of Riecoin community is to make as much post on Riecoin thread on Bitcointalk.com as possible. We should always be on page 1. Most people are lazy. Lazy enough not to look at page 2 unless desperate (somewhat like Google searches). If we are always on Page 1 of Bitcointalk.com, Riecoin will become more noticed and people will look at it often. If we can increase page count by at least 2 per day, it would be a vast improvement in reaching our audiences. Right now, we are at like 0.5ish page count a day. We are on page 1 maybe 5-6 times a day? It should be always. I will do my best in making Riecoin on page 1 but I need your help since I wont always be on.

I only ever took issue with the technicalities of the coin, the maths, but you lot lumped me in with racists and bigots because you didn't like my questions.
Well hopefully this is a place where real dialouge regarding such things can continue. Ok, can someone explain to me how a few thousand, technically and financially impoverished native americans are going to support or kick-start such a high price for the coin? Don't give me that national currency stuff, because it isn't true, Lakota is in the USA and subject to federal rule. Why won't they immediately dump? Surely their only interest is in cash? If this is a long term coin with a purpose, doesn't all the cries for a pump destroy it's credibility? Here are at least some of the many things said in response to those criticisms in the highly cyclical old thread. - all altcoin values are based on speculation, not an actual economy that exists yet - including bitcoin. . . .$220 million on their casino per year. . . other tribes are also being approached . .If people stop selling, but demand is still there, a price can skyrocket from very little investment. . . . - Treaties say otherwise, but yes they're subject to federal rule if federal rule says so - like any occupier. That could get ugly and has before. . . Same problem as with bitcoin throughout the world. - Absolutely they might. Same situation with Aurora: market cap hundreds of millions. . . .Big difference here, if they dump, some people who needed money get it instead of a random selection of Icelanders some of which are very well off. - Agree here completely. All the pump and dump talk isn't conducive with the intended purpose of this coin. I'll also add: Censoring etiquette and ideas/information are not the same thing. No one wants to hear the same opinion over and over. Once is awesome, but the same opinion over and over is tedious- positive or negative. |

I will commit to 3 hours of my time each weekend to any educational work-up or purpose within my capabilities to the opportunities that help the mazacoin economy grow. I can only telecommute so to speak currently due to my geographical location, but would be honored to, with an official call to action, participate and help organize a volunteer trip for the purpose of furthering the tribes adoption of mazacoin. Any official fundraising opportunities for mazacoin will be more than considered based on their merits as well. Anxiously awaiting any opportunity with getting this going, Momentum in this endeavor will become a phenomenon with the proper organizational leadership!
Would it make sense to try and fund some local advertising as well? I'm thinking if we offered a bounty to post flyers on poles or corkboards, hand them out door to door, that sort of thing. It would need some local organizing, but could be really effective also. There is the potential here in various ways for the Maza community to hire people on the reserves to help establish MZC. |

Lakota donations committed so far. -Add a wallet address to your existing Lakota based website on the reserve, explain that its for donations and we will donate MZC! First 2 websites 2400MZC each! Next 8 websites 2200MZC each! +2900MZC each for 10 charities Thats a total of 51,400 MZC pledged to be donated already! Get excited about this number moving up also! where I can saw the donation number? Not sure what you mean. These are donations that we are pledging to make when websites and charities on the reserve have wallet addresses for us to donate to. If we can come up with 10 charities that are known to Payu and the Office of Economic Development for the Tribe, I will donate a minimum of 2500maza each. I would very much like to see each of these charities provide MZC donation addresses on their sites. Further, I'd like to see each of these sites implement PGP signing of all donation addresses (and unique addresses for each donation). - while we're at it, we could encourage m of n signature addresses so that no one person could run with funds  It would be good to talk to Payu & Chase Iron Horse (chief legal counsel) about setting up funds for the various charities so that these donations might be put to use in a way that they might grow, before they are depleted. I'd like to ensure that any funds that I donate are not converted to USD too soon (if at all), as I would like these funds to have maximum impact. It's my opinion that regardless of the "official" political stance of the Lakota, or any other tribe, there is no reason these currency cannot be used to enhance the lives of people who've had most everything taken from them. IMO, it's the bitcoin way, and it's the right way, to make money by the people and for the people. If there is a way to include the tribal government (or governments if further discussions are fruitful) by way of funding them directly with public (donated) funds, then I suggest we find it. The more governing bodies are funded with public funds, the more the public can specify the parameters for the use of those funds. This would be a huge opportunity for the whole of the bitcoin community IMO, and directly benefit the people who need it. I don't have any real problem with the dev team working on multiple coin, seems pretty poor form to release it right now....especially with Payu apparently unavailable. But I guess Pirates will be Pirates. I understand from the @BitcoinSachs excerpts that AP might just like to build the coin & pass the torch - this is fine as long as he/they are committed to doing so in an orderly fashion (without abandoning the code) I will likely email both Payu and Chase Iron Horse to see how we can better make this a success. I agree with what you're saying, I'd like to hear from Payu & Chase Iron Horse to establish a more official means for this to happen for charities. But for me, my offer still stands to the gas station owner as well if he puts it on his website. Maza is unlike any other coin. Its both geographical and charitable - there is no other coin like that. Aurora is interesting, but Icelanders are not nearly so impoverished. There is no incentive for the rest of the world to send AUR to Iceland, but Maza to the reservation - this is a noble airdropping of wealth and its possible people will just spontaneously do it - as we're seeing already. I'd hope that charities could both hold some MZC and use some to sell for USD. Help increase the value by holding, and sell some for needed USD. Anyways, I'm pretty excited thanks for the help and smart suggestions. |
