261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 09, 2018, 03:34:37 PM

And he is suporting Nicehash which in my eyes is a menace. Their constant changes in what is mined, causes huge spikes in networks. On top of that they dump coins driving the prices down. People thing about that before using Nicehash. Its bad.

I constrained my rigs to ONLY mine CryptonightV7 on NH, there is no coin switching happening on my systems.

again, i have my reasons for my decisions. you don't have to like them, but it's my path. I support ETH, and doing this gets me MORE ETH, simple as that.

And I have a right to an opinion, which I simply stated. It was not a personal attack on you, I just stated that you use Nicehash and I don't like them because the cause huge problems for other miners. But its your choice and your hardware, so after all you have to decide how to mine not me Smiley And as you said you only mine monero, so thats ok.

I am just saying.

Nice to see that Monero and many other Cryptonight coins have changed there algo

Many others? oh pray tell

So far Monero, Sumokoin and Stellite have changed Algo. IPBC is doing it in less then a week. They opted for a heavily changed algo which should be even harder to crack that Sumokoin one.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 09, 2018, 03:12:21 PM
i switched about 90% of my hashpower yesterday from ETH to CryptonightV7 (via Nicehash) since it's so profitable.

reasons for using nicehash instead of monero directly.

1. simplicity is valuable to me, no need to manually trade
2. I try to only deal in coins supported by coinbase/GDAX. Since I'm US based, they're really the only exchange i trust.
3. NH pays me in BTC, which I trade straight to ETH for HODLing.
4. NH is still paying significantly more than mining ETH straight
5* (Bonus for everyone on cryptonightV7) Power use is about 30% lower than ETH! lower electric cost and lower heat all around

you can certainly make more mining Monero straight if you dont mind trading on second tier exchanges (IMO), and the little bit of extra work. Personally I'm more interested in the long term prospects of ETH so that's what im focused on holding and putting my efforts towards.

So you are supporting ETH - the coin that is going to leave gpu miners alone with asics and pos centralization. Rich become more rich ))

And he is suporting Nicehash which in my eyes is a menace. Their constant changes in what is mined, causes huge spikes in networks. On top of that they dump coins driving the prices down. People thing about that before using Nicehash. Its bad.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 09, 2018, 02:50:01 PM
The Monero hashrate has now stabilized nicely. Its amazing how much ASIC and botnet hasrate was on the blockchain. 70% at least.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Websites/online profitibility calculators for gpu mining on: April 09, 2018, 10:45:49 AM
https://crypt0.zone/calculator overinflates earnings by almost 20-30%. So watch out because its totaly off. Maybe good for comparing earnings but thats it. I cannot comment on how the balance between algorithms is.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 07, 2018, 08:30:35 PM
Going down faster now. It will still take days for full adjustment but it looks really good. Now it show how much crap was on the monero network. 3/4 of the hash were ASICS or botnets.

They are working hard. I am mining STR and everything is working fine

They are working on getting everything in order, then the exchanges come.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ProtonCoin [PROTON] - Masternodes, PoW, X16R algo, Active development on: April 07, 2018, 03:51:34 PM
Hi! When to the Moon?))) X16r algo is good, but not stable. My hashes vary from 3mgh to 7.5mgh..... Is it ok?

Yes its ok, it stable. Thats the feature of x16r algorithm. Its actually many algorithms being changed in random order. That is why your hashrate is going up and down. Because your GPUs are solving different algorithms at different times. That is why its so ASIC resistant.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Confusion with MasterNodes on: April 07, 2018, 08:47:28 AM
Wow thanks for the detailed reply dude, now I am enlighten how a masternode works. I guess I will not pass as I dont have a static ip address and a stable 24/7 connection. I'll try to research how to run a masternode under VPS, I guess this is not the right time as the market is so bearish.

Hello guys, I would like to ask a question. Can I run masternode from any PC? Is the masternode different from a hardware miner or masternode is applicable only to PC?

1. Usually you need linux as that is what is typicaly supported.
2. Yes any computer with 1GB ram should be good
3. You need static IP, one for each MN
4. Your MN needs to have 99% uptime

Its better to just get a cheap VPS. You get them for 5$ a month. Cheap.

https://www.arubacloud.com/. You have VPS for 1$ a month here. I did not try it yet I have one at Vultr for 5$ a month. As long as a masternode gives you more then you pay for VPS its worth it.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: April 07, 2018, 07:28:57 AM
The hashrate is still over 1 GH. Does it really takes so long to show correct hashrate?

720 blocks for full correction. o believe we are at 100-200 blocks in. lazy to check

Thx for the info. We are only at block 1546086. Damn this could take a while.

INCORRECT!

here are my transactions to purchase 1,000 coins to the Master Node and it's not over a month ago

195803   Buy   Done   PROTONBTC   0.00003499   400.0   0.000034989   400.0   2018-03-20 21:26:13
195529   Buy   Done   PROTONBTC   0.00002977   628.2443   0.000028251   628.2443   2018-03-20 20:44:38

so - imagine this:

You buy the coins for a masternode - start up your masternode then after a week it stops working.

You come to find out that the dev has forked the coin - no big deal really even the the post that mentions the fork is burried in 20 pages of forum posts and they never took the time to update the OP or close the thread and start a new thread like most devs do.

but there's the kicker, even after you upgrade to the new wallet and blockchain, your masternode does not work any longer because now instead of the 1,000 coins you purchased for your masternode, you now need 5,000 - devs says "oh you're going to make a lot more money so you have to buy more coins on the exchange'. Yea - like dev has a crystal ball and predict the value of the coin in the future...

Pretty unethical if you ask me and violates terms of original master node agreement.

that's my gripe.
Hi OFWCOIN.COM,

Sorry for the delay, I am more active on the Discord server than here.

Something like this would never, ever come from us: "oh you're going to make a lot more money so you have to buy more coins on the exchange", because, of course, we will not talk about prices or predictions.
If you read that, it was either someone impersonating us, or someone from the community, not affiliated with the Core team.

We apologised several times for this inconvenience and also gave the reasons why it had to be done.

PS: What do you mean by not updating the OP? the 5000 coins collateral was changed more than 1 week ago

Hopefully you will remain in our community, and if you decide to leave, we will gladly welcome you back in the future.

Best,

ProtonCoin Team

Man....... easy..... re-read my message please. It was not modified

regardless - no logical explanation as to why the minimum number of coins was increased...

the absence of any logical reason just reeks of a money grab.

The reason is simple. The coin was to cheap and you could buy a MN today for a little over 100$. This means there would be so many MNs that you would get nothing out of it, no rewards or so low its not worth mentioning. By rising the colateral the devs ensured that the coin retains value and that a MN means something. Now relax and stop being so negative.

What happened to you sucks, it happened to me also, but I got over it. No sense in beating the dead horse. I still prefer an active project with good devs and vision that changed the colateral, over a dead project where nothing happens and you loose all you invested anyway.

Its as simple as that.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 06, 2018, 04:57:36 PM
Monero needs another fork again in 4 weeks just to cure the disease properly.
As said already, Bitmain is probably already well on the way for V7.

SUMOKOIN has now forked to their new heavy version.
Their hash rate is down to 10-20%

That is why as because some of the rigs of my colleagues at work who are using winminer with RX 580 GB 8GB have switched to Sumocoin making about 1.40 dollars per card per day going back to nice profitability. It will be a welcome change for the Monero fork if that will bring difficulty down, probably the RX 580 people will switch back to Monero.

Dream on. I started mining it today, it was 3.5 GH / s. when I started, with great profitability. Right now its already 16 GH /s. I went of at 10 GH / s. Not worth it.
Right now for 6300 H/S you only get 4 sumo per day. Does not even pay my electricity.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ProtonCoin [PROTON] - Masternodes, PoW, X16R algo, Active development on: April 06, 2018, 11:27:07 AM
why no announcement on the hard fork???

Lol, the devs were talking about the hard fork at least 2 weeks prior to the algo change Cheesy Keep track of your investments, don't just leave them! Otherwise you get the news pretty late just like in this situation

I do not post often but stay away from this coin - the developers are scammers. Sold master nodes - forked the coin then told MN owners they have to buy more coins to keep their master nodes.

I've been in crypto for 6 years and have never seen a scam as bad as this one. - this guy says they've been taking about it? really - why isn't OP updated with news - don;t try to chang it now - I have screen snaps of OP as it is today.

Why scream SCAM all the time. There is no scam. The MN collateral change and the fork were announced but only 2 days prior the execution. Yes it was badly communicated and badly timed (easter weekend). You could also say it was unprofessional and unethical.

I also had a masternode and now I don't anymore because I can't buy more coins. But in the end the changes were good, the project is developing fast and gaining attention. To recap, the changes were good, the way they were carried out was bad.

I just wish that in the future such things are communicated with the community in advance otherwise why have the community right?
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 06, 2018, 10:15:15 AM
Might be due to the fact that miners are more efficient on that algo. I'd like to see hashrate sources and if that 70% elephant has gone down at all. It'll be interesting to see if any botnets jump on the coin again in the long term.

Yes - I am actually more curious about the effect the fork will have on botnets rather than ASICs. I would think that the botnet worms could be remote updated but perhaps the need to do so either wasn't anticipated or not incorporated because it would point to the perpetrators.

still on the 6th of april, so nothing to complain about.

Ah, yes, it appears there's still 8 hours or so to go until the fork because it was moved again. I saw the earlier comment that the fork went through successfully but didn't actually verify that was the case. Alright, carry on! Nothing to see here!

I think they are having some issues with the fork. Will see.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 06, 2018, 09:37:22 AM
So anyone want to predict what the Monero diffulty goes to on the 6th ?

current diff is  - 116,825,734,095
total hashrate  -957.59 Mh/s give or take?

Personally I predict at 30% inital drop , before GPU miners switch back over from other coins

so difficult goes to 81,778,013,866.5
hash rate to 600  mh/s

mmm Difficulty : 136721049036 before the fork now Current Difficulty 1.19550334853e+11

april 06 The scheduled MONERO network upgrade went successfully! (at block 1546000). Network rate take 12-24 hours to adjust but it seems to be going up?

Hm why is there still a coutdown on the monero page: https://monero.org/

EDIT: Lol the moved the fork again: 1546500 block. https://monero.org/forks/

Is Sumokoin cryponigh-heavy supported?
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Musicoin and finding blocks on: April 06, 2018, 07:51:20 AM
Ok thank you, it appears it is a misunderstanding of mine about how a mining pool works. With 853 ghs I understand it would be worthless to do solo mining so I will continue with pool mining.

I thought each block mined by me in a mining pool was mine but know I understand that is a misconception and that everyone who participates there is paid on shares found. Thank you for clarifying me.

Yes with 853 GH its not advisable to solo mine unless you have at least 1 GH of power. I had great success solo mining a coin that has 25 GH with my 300 MH for instance.
Anyway some pools have solo mining option, where you are a part of the pool hash power but you only get full block rewards for the blocks you found.

On some pools it shows how many blocks you found, so this way you can calculate if its worth it.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: miningpoolhub thru exchange (binance) on: April 06, 2018, 07:48:32 AM
Hi guys i'm using claymore to mine ETH and bminer to mine ZCASH,

is it possible to put my exchange address from binance for that software mining?

No clue, but fundamental rule is, never mine directly to exchange. So that basically answers your question Smiley
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Simple Cryptonight profit calculator on: April 06, 2018, 07:01:23 AM
This is a very interesting phenomenon    Cheesy

http://poolmining1.dinastycoin.com/ Connected Miners: 250 | HR 612.44 KH/sec
http://poolmining2.dinastycoin.com/ Connected Miners: 132 | HR 167.97 H/sec

The question is, are they mining the same coin?

If there was an attack the chain coud have forked. Just guessing Smiley
Anyway who cares, its a shitcoin. Is anyone even mining this?
