I can't believe people fell for the first IPO scams. Who would expect people to fall for them two years later?

Back in my day, we at least put some effort into our shitcoins. This is just junk and you haven't even bothered to dress it up as anything but junk.

I can take them via bank transfer.

Hopefully it stays down. A brand that takes over an aspect of bitcoin is a problem, especially when that brand is using outdated and vulnerable technology.
85  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why does the left care more about Islamophobia than anti-Semitism? on: September 11, 2015, 10:52:56 AM
There are nearly 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, yet only 15 million Jews. Why should issues that only 15 million people face be as important as issues that 1.6 billion people face?

Well, maybe we should look at why we have Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. Most anti-Semitism seems to be the result of Israel defending themselves and general jealously (due to the Jewish people's economic prowess)  over the years. The ability for a group of people to blame the Jewish people for all their problems transcends generations and continues on to the current day.

On the other hand, Islamophobia is caused by planes that crash into tall buildings, suicide bombings, car and truck bombs, and the war on America and American values that many Muslims support. Radical Muslims are not as rare as you might think. How could anyone support a religion with such disgusting views and actions? The politically correct view is that almost everyone is a "good person", but how could someone be both a "good person" and support killing females for "dishonoring" their families, executing homosexuals for being homosexual, bombings of civilians, etc.? Heck, most Muslims have "mixed feelings" about Bin Laden - I mean, what the hell?!? "Mixed feelings"!?!?!??!!!

Jewish people tend to be too "politically-altruistic" for my taste. Always sympathizing with African-Americans, Muslims, Hispanics, etc. instead of worrying about themselves. I guess that plays a role in why the media views anti-Semitism as an afterthought - it simply doesn't sell papers they way racism towards blacks and Muslims can. It's too bad most Jews are so far left - the left is right about a lot of social issues, but the whole politically correct act of being pro-Muslim is contradicting itself when you have Muslims preventing women from driving a car or going to school. In many ways, Islamophobia is justified.

Interestingly, one of the only countries that makes a big deal out of anti-Semitism is Germany. Go figure.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Clickcoin [Click to earn] [POS] [Advertising] on: August 29, 2015, 01:36:19 PM
Why do people keep releasing these business plans that rely on a few hundred dollars crowd funded? It is not that hard to come up with a few hundred bucks to launch the service before they release the ICO. The ICO would go 10x better if they already have a working service at time of ICO open.
It doesn't do much for investor confidence, either. No way I'm putting any real money into a coin if they need to fund a few hundred bucks.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Just found a person selling about 44,000 Bitcoins in localbitcoins on: May 12, 2015, 10:27:01 PM
For local ads, you do not need to have any bitcoins to put up an ad for any amount. Only with online ads does your wallet need to contain the coins in order for the ad to be active.

He plausibly could have zero coins stored on LocalBitcoins.

This is just an underhanded way for you to get people to sign up to artscow.com under your affiliate link.
91  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy now or wait ? $41,000 to invest in bitcoins and litecoins on: May 04, 2015, 02:32:06 PM
I invest in litecoin because when bitcoin hits a bubble phase litecoin goes up about 3 - 5 times more on price.  Im not sure how good it is as a hedge but if the gov messed up bitcoin maybe it would be.

Litecoin is not always like that. Altcoin is very hard to predict when will it be high or not. So I suggest you better not invest in any altcoin better for you is bitcoin altough the price is volatile but it still have a chance to rise more than altcoin

Litecoin will always be special, will always be "the original alt", so never count it off for huge future pumps once BTC goes were it belongs (aka moon). Im pretty sure Litecoin will feel that second crypto rush when it happens again. The outcome is uncertain tho, I would go back to BTC as soon as i get decent gains.
The OP is a prime example of what happens when someone is new to crypto and they have a certain amount of money to spend/invest. Even more true when a bull market starts. The price of Bitcoin looks high so the next best thing is to get the silver crypto so one can purchase so many more of them. This is why litecoin typically makes big moves during a bull market in Bitcoin. Most new folks think crypto is crypto so buying one is the same as another outside of the pricing.
Crypto is crypto? Well, I've got some excellent, high end wine to sell. Only $41,000. Wine is wine.

I have heard few complaints about Localbitcoins (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=457225.0) so you could try using Ebay or even https://www.virwox.com/.

Are you seriously recommending eBay or Virwox over LocalBitcoins? LocalBitcoins is the best P2P option, bar none. Unless you're using stolen PayPal funds, eBay and Virwox are a waste of time.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Deep Web Drug Market Disappeared Overnight, $12 Million in Bitcoin Missing on: March 23, 2015, 04:28:26 PM
This could be resolved with a multi sig wallet I would think. Hopefully someone with more technical knowledge of multi sig wallets can chime in on this. My rule of thumb is that if something requires you to trust someone with your currency don't do it.
The marketplace offered multisig, but it's up to imbecile users to utilize it. Oddly enough, darknet market users tend to be risk takers and a bit lazy.

I suspect that they've been running a fractional reserve for months now, slowly cashing out coins.

95  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 13, 2015, 11:49:05 PM
How low are we going to go on this dump?

I wouldn't be surprised at a drift back to mid-200s.
96  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Flopped on: February 17, 2015, 10:25:00 AM
still finding the idea that bitcoin has flopped hilarious.
It's not about the coin , it's about the blockchain - stop looking at the "currency" and think about the technology
If you look at the technology, you realize that bitcoin is replaceable by a newer cryptocurrency with better technology.

Hence, why the price is slumping - the technology is great, but people can't justify a large market cap for a payment instrument itself that is infinitely replaceable.
97  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: $500 PayPal MyCash for your $450 (Bitfinex) Bitcoin on: February 02, 2015, 06:47:09 PM
Carded or not, doesn't matter. Your PayPal account will get limited if you redeem a lot of My Cash cards and then withdraw to a bank account.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: - on: January 28, 2015, 06:38:20 AM
The Oneplus One has excellent specs for the price.
I feel the value is no longer there for the OnePlus One. When it came out, it was priced great in comparison to the G3 ($350 vs. $550). However, now that the G3 is pretty cheap, (only a couple dollars more than the OnePlus One) the savings aren't really there anymore. The Note 3 can also be picked up used on eBay for <$300 and has slightly better specs than the OnePlus One.

My advice: Buy the Note 3.
