181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WHICH BITCOIN WALLET IS THE MOST GOOD AND CONVINENCY on: March 12, 2016, 01:23:41 PM
I really like Bitcoin Core, but if you want the most convenient wallet, then I would definitely recommend blockchain.info or coinbase.
Both of them are unsafe option and you are not in control of your bitcoins. The companies just give you the permission to use the BTC, that you stored. With the first being prone to phishing attempts

Yes I was always using Multibit because of that, also the blockchain downloads really quick on that one!
But I've also downloaded Electrum, Because people here said it was the best wallet I also downloaded it.
I must say that wallet is also nice, and it has 2 factor authentication which is also good for protection of your Bitcoins!

Het gaat hier over maidsafecoin denk ik? Cheesy

183  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex & maker-taker fees on: March 11, 2016, 12:26:49 PM
Yes this is what they say on the website:

Every trade occurs between two parties: the maker, whose order exists on the order book prior to the trade, and the taker, who places the order that matches (or "takes") the maker's order. Makers are so named because their orders make the liquidity in a market. Takers are the ones who remove this liquidity by matching makers' orders with their own.

The maker-taker model encourages market liquidity by rewarding the makers of that liquidity with a fee discount. It also results in a tighter market spread due to the increased incentive for makers to outbid each other. The higher fee that the taker pays is usually offset by the better prices this tighter spread provides.

I think Poloniex makes a lot of money in a day, they have to if u just look on the total volume on there is:

60-70k at the moment, and i have see days that only ethereum does 80k volume on there.

so lets say they do 100k volume a day there and they take 0.2% fee that is 200 Bitcoin a day only on the Bitcoin trades.

So they make around 80000$ dollars a day and 2.2 million monthly and that is still a low calculation, so I don't think they are really strong economically.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin-FINAL BETA LAUNCHED! *ENCRYPTION, MARKETPLACE, BTC INTEGRATION* on: March 11, 2016, 12:14:07 PM
What is that rumor?
I Also would like to know dano is is smarter to buy Sys now or after the transformation.
Because I have read if you have like 3 coins now you will end up with 1 is that true?
And is that only because there where to many coins available?
I talked to my brother today and told him about this, he said sounds good give me 10k of them Cheesy
But I dont want to buy 10k for him and then he ends up with only 3k, so what is the smartest thing to do here?

From my understanding coins will be split when the transfer happens at 299.4 to 1.
So that means if you have 1000 SYS right now, once the transfer completes you will effectively have 3.34001336 SYS.

@coffecup is correct. @nickenburg yes we reduced the overall supply because we felt 2billion coins was too much and also to increase the perception of scarcity. In terms of you actual holdings you won't lose anything, you're wallet balance scales proportionally with the supply reduction at a rate of 299.4:1. The new mining schedule also releases fewer coins per day vs. today's schedule and Syscoin 2.0 has a built in inflation/deflation mechanism based on service usage (services being defined as Syscoin specific services).

I'd recommend buying before the transformation for-sure. I'd actually recommend buying as soon as you can reasonably do so.

Also as some may have seen via Twitter and our Slack we have another news/blog announcement coming Monday/Tuesday of next week.

Ok yes that sounds logical, the price is already going up I see today, on yobit and on Poloniex did anything happen? Cheesy
So the value of the Sys coin with that switch will stay the same or only gets higher?

And about the Sys wallet because I haven't downloaded that yet, should I already download the wallet and store my coins there?
Did buy some more quickly since the price is rising today!
185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying stocks with Bitcoin on: March 11, 2016, 12:21:58 AM
Not a good idea. Why you want to mix up two separate markets ? Treat Bitcoin and Stocks as two different entities. You can trade your $50 in bitcoins either by investing in alt coins or buy/sell once the market prices rise up.There are other investing platforms you can google.Mixing up bitcoins with the stock market would just be ambiguous enough for the broker to handle ,you might be winning the stock prices but losing heavily on bitcoin peek price rise days.

Yes that is a good point, why would you invest your bitcoins, when Bitcoins itself is a investment already!
I think if you invest your bitcoin's don't do it in stocks but in Altcoins.
And Try to invest your fiat money in stocks, but then again 50 Dollar isn't a lot of money to invest in stocks.
I think you need at least a few 1000 to make some good profits with Stocks.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ============= Pulse: The heartbeat of the internet ============= on: March 11, 2016, 12:15:27 AM
You say this will be distributed fairly, but you never say how you plan to do this.
Because I think a fair distribution would be that anyone in the world gets this coin, but that ain't happening.
Only the miners will probably distribute it between them which isn't really fair.
I guess there will be a mining phase and after that a Pos Stake with a whooping 183% interest?
Tell me more!
187  Local / Alt Coins (Nederlands) / Re: e-Gulden: even bijkletsen on: March 11, 2016, 12:08:32 AM

188  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your first meet story with bitcoin? on: March 10, 2016, 11:59:52 PM
My first meet with Bitcoin was when I was searching on google How to make money on the Internet.
I still remember that day, I found a youtube video about bitcoins and I really tought it could be something revolutionary.
I showed it to friends and my dad, but they weren't so enthusiastic as me about Bitcoin.

Well I never really knew a lot about it, only that the price was like 5-10 euro a Bitcoin and mining was already hard to do solo.
Fast forward A few years later, Bitcoin was 800 Dollar and a friend told me and showed me www.coinmarketcap.com
Since that day I am hooked again!
189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Humans & Aliens on: March 10, 2016, 11:56:38 PM
Well Your question is incomplete because where will the humans and aliens meet?
Are we that far in our technology that we found the aliens or did the aliens have the technology to visit us?
There is a big difference, When the aliens found us they are way smarter and ahead in technology.
They would probably destroy us easily since there technology is better, or hopefully they are nice and help us.
But I am sure some people on this planet would fuck up that encounter as well.
190  Other / Off-topic / Re: A new trend in the martial arts - Aikivindo. on: March 10, 2016, 11:53:14 PM
The whole site is in Russian I think, so I can't read it but I am really interested in fighting sports tho!
I think Wing chun and Aikido are defensive sports right especially against weapons?

Could you show me some good moves to use in a fight, or a video of some examples of your sport?
And where can you already practice this fighting style, probably not in The Netherlands right?
191  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to fight a domain squatter? on: March 10, 2016, 11:50:20 PM
I was looking for domains the other day and .com is not the only good one.
Of course it is the most used one, but other one's are good enough as well.
Since 2000$ for a domain name is quite a lot if you can just change it to .info .biz. .co .net

And Indeed I wouldn't fight them just send them a offer, and see how they respond.
192  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck sakes, my 78 yr old dad fell for the biggest scam evar -NEW Update TODAY! on: March 10, 2016, 11:44:54 PM
Yes some people fall for the easiest scams ever, especially old people are easy targets.
They will believe everything because they don't know a lot about technology and doing everything online.

I know that if someone calls you and says you have a problem with ur computer that guy is full of shit, but for us computers and technology are easy, but if I look at my grandma she doesn't even know how to work with a pc or mobile phone.
While the daughter of a friend of mine who is 2 years old, knows exactly how a smartphone and tablet work.

The only thing you can do is warn them and if something like that happens again you tell them they should call you before they do anything!
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM on: March 10, 2016, 11:34:08 PM
Does anyone use Bitcoin ATMs? Where are you located? I live in California; there were about 10 ATMs in the area, but over the past couple years were removed.. Now there are only 2 that I know of.

Do you guys find Bitcoin ATM's useful or have a need for them?

I never used A Bitcoin Atm I wonder how they exactly work, you can just withdraw your bitcoins for Fiat?
I don't think Bitcoin Atm's are really necessary, but I know the perfect site to check where all the Atm's are located:

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-atm-map/

Here you can see them for your country/state, In Holland we have 5 so it's not a lot compared to California.
194  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best place to invest your bitcoin? on: March 10, 2016, 11:30:30 PM
Any ideas or suggestions?

It depends, Bitcoin it self is a investment already in my eyes, and It really depends on how much bitcoin you have to invest.
You should only invest a small % of your Bitcoins in something, my best bet would be Altcoins.
Buy low sell High, Or you could also invest in a Ico like Lisk that is doing really good at the moment.

196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 10, 2016, 11:19:23 PM
It's true that xmr and eth are very correlated recently and I am not sure how to explain this. A sell wall is up it seems that someone wants the price to stay around like 240k to 280k sats.

It is because the smart investors will invest in Monero and Ethereum Tongue
But I like this speculation topic because a lot of people give good insights about the price.
And I have a question for you guys, I want to buy more Monero, and you guys are speculating a lot in this topic.
My last buy was at: 0.00289041 and at the moment it is already lower, so I could buy now but I have seen some of you saying that it would go down more before it goes up.
When do you think is the best time to buy?

Buy right now! If it breaks the trendline on 0.0024 you might want to sell again.

So you say buy right now and if it goes below 0.0024 I sell again because I will loose to much or something?
I really just want to buy at the low point and keep it for a long time man with this coin I don't really care in trading it much.
But I am from Holland to so you can maybe Pm me in dutch for some tips? Wink

And yes I know it is a very volatile market and anything can happen, and nobody knows for sure what will happen
But ill try to buy as low as possible!

I am responsible for the Elastic project and I do not want to formate any agreements, contractual obligations, or future promises that can be enforced in court. So in order to prevent any kind of legal detriments, either now or in the future, I explicitly do not agree in any form to perform (or refrain from performing) certain actions in relation with the Elastic project now or in the future.

This is the basic reason why I want to stick with voluntary donations and a voluntary development process. But I can assure you that we all are passionate about crypto currencies and we are eager to see this pioneering coin being developed, used and maintained even after its launch.

This raises some red flags for me tho, I mean there are other Ico's At the moment who are open about everything.
You know the people behind it and what the plans are, Why wouldn't you do that?
This sounds like I don't want anything to do with this if it goes sideways.
For me It is really important in Ico's who I am going to give my money to and what are they going to do with it, this is way to unclear for me guys sorry.

199  Local / Alt Coins (Nederlands) / Re: BIGUP on: March 10, 2016, 10:51:21 PM

Yes, I had the same problem today I was typing posts on my phone and sometimes I would get the 502 bad gateway error.
Then I discovered refreshing it a few times solved the issue for me, but it happened every time after I clicked a link on the page.

But now I am on my pc and everything works fine, so I wonder if you all have the problem on your phone or also on your pc?
