Development Update

By popular request, we have added more notifications to let you know what is going on with your workers. There are now 4 possible notifications:

  • Idle worker notification - same setting on each worker as before - email title has changed in case you forward these emails somewhere.
  • Worker recovery notification - if you are subscribed to Idle notifications, the system will now tell you when your worker has recovered.
  • Low hashrate notification - this is a new setting for each worker. Once checked, a text field will appear for you to enter the threshold in Mh/s.
  • Hashrate recovery notification - if you are subscribed to low hashrate notifications, you will be alerted when the workers hashrate exceeds the threshold.

The new low hashrate notification works off of your 5 minute hashrate average. If you are submitted 20 shares per minute (hashrate of worker / 1.4) this should an acceptable time range. If you have set your diff higher, please be aware that your 5 minute average will swing back and forth more than if you submit 20 shares per minute.

Big thanks to jddebug for kicking my ass into gear on this one.

Best,
James

You're in luck! ~12 hours earlier from the time you posted the above, HashTrade made a $1M USD down payment to start up a premier data processing organization enabling all individuals to benefit from mining Bitcoins without having to purchase or operate any hardware.

Soon, possibly, you'll be able to upgrade. Rumor has it that all the Bitcoin mining rigs will be Monarchs, of which currently is all the rage.

Hi Bruno,

It was nice to meet you in Atlanta.

Just to make sure all of the facts are stated, I have been involved with the creation of HashTrade for over 6 months. In that time, we have created a business, found investors and have partnered with multiple hardware manufacturers to make sure mining stays in the hands of the many. There has been a ton of interest from the broader community since the press release from BFL arrived and we are glad so many are interested in pursuing hosted mining contracts.

As for Teramining, it will remain 24% of whatever hashrate VPS runs. This is far above and beyond anything promised in any contract and should show my resolve and loyalty towards those who have stuck with me though the last year.

Some may question my judgement in ever running a mining bond on GLBSE and they have every right to do so. But the facts of the matter are that over 90% of all contracts have been claimed, paid all back payments and are continuing to this day.

Best regards,
James

Problem is still there. Possibly related to the initial lowest diff of 25?

The previous diff is only good for the current work template id. If your diff is adjusted AND new work is sent, the pool expects higher diff shares.

Is this not correct?

Hi, you're not associating diff properly in stratum and after diff rises you are rejecting valid work as hash being above target.

I have updated the pool servers to make sure all diff change notifications allow for the previous diff to still be accepted.

Code:
 [2013-11-05 15:30:42] Accepted 02382ffe Diff 115/75 BAS 6 pool 1
 [2013-11-05 15:30:42] Accepted 02ad696d Diff 95/75 BAS 7 pool 1
 [2013-11-05 15:30:42] Accepted 02a84b41 Diff 96/75 BAS 2 pool 1
 [2013-11-05 15:30:44] Pool 1 difficulty changed to 225
 [2013-11-05 15:30:44] Accepted 02353e00 Diff 115/75 BAS 1 pool 1
 [2013-11-05 15:30:45] Accepted 031dfab3 Diff 82/75 BAS 1 pool 1
 [2013-11-05 15:30:47] Accepted 014dc656 Diff 196/75 BAS 2 pool 1
 [2013-11-05 15:30:51] Accepted 00f4e8f4 Diff 267/225 BAS 6 pool 1
 [2013-11-05 15:30:54] Accepted 003f2be8 Diff 1.04K/225 BAS 4 pool 1

As we can see from the cgminer output above, diff 75 shares were still accepted even after the pool suggested raising the diff to 225.

Thanks for making it easy giga.

You are welcome.

Yes.  5% for all members.  PPS is very dangerous to a pool - big risk - which is why high fees.

My pool will be the first to keep coins at a specific address, sign a message stating we own the coins AND show the calculations for our risk of ruin to PROVE we can run a legitimate PPS operation. Users can be rest assured that any bad luck the pool experiences is backed 100%.
287  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~100Th] Semi-private mining pool on: November 05, 2013, 12:39:38 AM
Pplns is free of fees???

PPLNS runs at 0% fees.

PPS runs at 5% fees.

This is all stated on the OP in this thread.

Teramining Update

We ran at 110.77% PPS last week.

The shift / PPS process got stuck yesterday. I have resolved the issue and shifts are catching up.

I will re-reward all of the found blocks that have not confirmed when shifts have caught up.

Shifts are working as expected now and things have caught up. All PPS rewards have been calculated and paid and shifts have been properly applied to the three unconfirmed blocks.

this shift is 6.5 hours long??

I moved 500G at about 4pm today, no shift credit yet..

Same here, I'm on PPS and last reward credit was 11hours ago.

Edit: droped James an email.

Isn't the open invite to anyone, mitigating all the advantages of this pool?

No. While registration is no longer restricted, someone still needs to tell you about the pool.

I'm not elitarian, but at least making it a bit more difficult, for the hackers, might let them choose bigger and easier targets.

I have many more tricks up my sleeve for once the pool goes live. For instance, all of the ip addresses tied to our web servers and pool servers are not static.

Btw, what's the rate on PPLNS?

PPLNS is 0% and will always stay 0% for those who started mining before the pool url starts being marketed.

When you will sent the link for the old members?

I'm having to take care of some backend rework this week so we can start to scale the number of pool servers we are running. It is looking like I won't get all of this done until next week.

Having said that, the pool will not go public until these things are in place and current miners have had time to move to the protected pool.
294  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~100Th] Semi-private mining pool on: November 02, 2013, 11:34:19 AM
I'm a member when you first started, but only have 280Gh/s. Am I allowed to mine here? Also, what is the average 24 hour earnings on this pool at approx 275-280Gh/s or whatever, I can do the math? I'm sure someone that has been mining here can come up with a number, right?

Thanks. Cool looking web site.

You are more than welcome to join us.

Interesting. Watched the stats drop as if all equipment was 'turned off' ..but seems back to normal now.

Hi Korbman,

I've just witnessed the same thing and I believe I know the root cause. Thanks for posting about it and I'll get it resolved next week.

Best,
James

October Report

The average daily diff for October was 247,090,119.  Shocked

Teramining ran at 103.33% for the month. This was our best month vs PPS since Teramining started.

Just saw the 30m average for the pool speed top 100Th!  Cheesy

If paid and not per block
Can never find a block or not?

You can find a block whether mining PPS or PPLNS.
299  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~99Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 30, 2013, 02:56:14 PM
Would you be able to pull all my shares from yesterday and the payouts and see how they compare with the previous days?

Please email me your username on the pool and I will make sure everything is in order.

Thanks,
James

For an entire day when the pool has been finding blocks regularly? Have you seen zero unconfirmed rewards in your stats for 20 hours? Anyone?

You are mining PPS, not PPLNS. You are paid for every share submitted, not when we find a block! You are receiving rewards and they are IMMEDIATELY confirmed.

If you would rather mine PPLNS, please change your workers accordingly.
