I notice now we do not go to the dashboard after logging in. Can i ask the reasoning behind the change?

Jim

Ummmmm..... I like going to the /stats page better?  Smiley

For PPS will you keep paying txfees too?

Is this the formulla you will use for PPS?
(1 / Network Difficulty * 25+txfee) - Pool Fee (5%)

PPS pays you per share. The only way to calculate the value of a share is to use the block reward (not txn fees) for the share submitted.

Can't hurt. Eligius doesn't pay for stale shares, but cgminer doesn't detect stale shares correctly anyway.

Could you please explain further? Specifically how cgminer doesn't do this correctly.

Thanks,
James

Stats or pool problems?

My hashrate is 1/3 at the moment. Seems everyones is.

A pool server lost a connection to the database for some reason. Investigating further....

Have you decided your PPS rate?

Yes. The rate will be 5% for PPS mining.

As a side note, the first shift is in since PPS started and it seems that the calculations are working out well.

You should see my handle drop out of rewards on block detail pages and user "PPS" should become the second largest miner.

Tomorrow we'll have more data.  Smiley

PPS is almost live

All code changes for implementing PPS are done and live.

I have set all of my workers to PPS for the next couple of days since I can't loose any coins to myself and I want to triple check the calculations for PPS payments. Smiley

Once final verification is complete, I will enable the option on your worker settings page.

PPS is per worker, so you can have some workers PPLNS and some PPS or whatever mix you prefer. PPS shares are paid when new shifts are created and the rewards show up for payment immediately after this.

Hi BitcoinWisdom,

First, thanks for the awesome site.

Is there any way we can get a monthly candlestick option?

Best,
James

API Users

The URL structure for the API will be changing over the coming weeks. This WILL break your applications and will mean that some code changes will be necessary.

More info to come and a final announcement will be made before the new site is live.

Very nice.

You may be right.

Unfortunately in my case, this is one time that being right doesn't put a smile on my face.

I'll take a look, but 7x diff doesn't sound that uncommon.  Given how bad my pool's luck was at the start of the diff I'm expecting to find a 9-10x (harder to tell since I don't track individual block rounds).

There have definitely been greater than 7x diff rounds. I know deepbit has had 11x.

But has any pool had a round with more than 1,963,423,807 shares?
352  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~95Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 18, 2013, 07:33:13 PM
How are you measuring it as "longest round in the known history of pools"?  Doesn't sound like the longest in terms of hours, shares, or diff multiplier.

Good to know you keep an eye on our little pool.  Tongue

I was referring to shares, but I assume you are going to prove me wrong.  Wink

Finally...
Let's hope the next ones getting found faster.

Indeed. Smiley

New longest round for sure at 7.33x diff along with longest round in the known history of pools.....  Cry

Thanks for saving us MartRog!

Just checked through all blocks stats, and I think the highest CDF was 99.85% ...this block is .02% (and counting) away from a new record  Shocked

Organofcorti was saying months ago that we shouldn't be surprised to see a new longest block come around and that we've been fairly lucky with not seeing a block longer than 6.6x diff.

If this is the newest longest one, so be it. Gotta have these to have the short ones. Smiley

Horrid block.

C'mon!

Your success is our success!

I appreciate your willingness to donate. I'll see what I can do to set something like this up.

Just an update, DB changes went fine without any downtime. These are for PPS, which should be coming once I do some final testing and tweaking tomorrow.

The starting fee for PPS will be 5% since we are a relatively small pool and variance can be killer at times.

PPLNS is still fee free and will remain that way for the foreseeable future.
359  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~95Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 17, 2013, 12:54:46 PM
Where did 1494 go?

1495 also stuck at calculating.

yeah.. yet the details look ok blocks/1495

We have two issues.

The shares column was an integer column instead of bigint. This has been fixed.

Block inserts sometimes fail. This is why we run innoDB so that it is beyond obvious that this has happened (hence why 1494 was missing).

Everything is correct now. We found two in a row.  Grin

As for fees, PPLNS 1% and PPS 3% when you're out of beta? And for Sass, PPLNS 0.5% and PPS 2.5%?

Don't know to be honest. I want to find a balance that pays the bills and some salaries without overburdening loyal pool members.

Right now, anyone paying fees at a pool is paying pay-as-you-go premiums. I want to reward loyalty, so any suggestions or discussion is helpful at this point.
