Why my hashing speed at cgminer avg is 530-540
And the pool show only 480gh?....?

It is called share variance. The rate the pool shows is only an estimate based off of work submitted.

Hi Gigavps

Any update about PPS?
* EnJoyThis is interested ;-)

PPS is live.

So claims are not really closed are they? Do you have an estimate about the amount of btc one share results in? In an earlier post someone estimated about 0.2 btc/share, can you confirm this?

0.22 BTC per contract is about right.
324  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~95Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 22, 2013, 02:46:41 PM
Would I have better luck on this pool or BTC Guild? I'm new to mining, so all the different pools and which to use.

You'll have the same luck at each pool as long as you stick it out though the good luck and bad.

The real question should be "what are my fees for the pool?".

This pool will have the lowest fees in the industry if we ever come out of beta. Until then, PPLNS is fee free.

Do the individuals who went through the claim process get a bonus from the leftover coins?

Individuals who went though the claims process get the benefit of getting paid.

Leftover coins are stored for when people claim. More people have come out of the woodwork and are claiming as I type this.

did you change the APIs?

You are definitely not and it has been corrected. All api keys returned should be lowercase.

Development Update

  • fix the payment threshold to work with balances smaller than 1
  • total unpaid rewards should be on the rewards page
  • add setting for where to redirect the user once they are logged in
  • Fix rewards page to properly show PPS rewards as confirmed and in the confirmed rewards balance
  • Finalized the PPS code and it is now live. You can change the setting per worker.
  • Make the insert/update worker calls work with API calls. Documentation is at /api

I need alerts for decrease in hashrate, not just dead miner.

I lose a lot each day due to rigs that will have an issue that severely reduces their hashrate but doesn't actually stop.

There are several pools that offer this (you set a percentage drop and are alerted when it fluctuates by more than that amount). Would like to see it here too.

This has been added to the list.

It will be a premium feature and will be available when the plan structure is finalized and live.

We don't need a faq here at giga's pool.  Cool

The FAQ is on the development list.  Smiley
330  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~95Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 21, 2013, 04:22:23 PM
why pool Avg. Hash Rate speed at 507 gh
and cgminer Avg. Hash Rate 533 gh
why so big difference?

The pool average is only an estimate. It will fluctuate under and over what cgminer reports. This is because of "share variance".

If you look at the "hashrate" chart on your Dashboard, you'll see a 2hr average which should be more consistent.

Sounds like this needs to be in a FAQ.

Teramining Update

We ran at 93.55% PPS last week. All equipment issues were resolved on Tuesday and we have been mining at 100% since then.

The pool now has the dubious honor of have the longest round in terms of total shares at 1,963,423,807. Having a round like this and still coming in at 93.55% PPS is an amazing feat.

Best,
James

Interest payments down by over 50% in just the last 3 week Undecided

That is correct. the average difficulty for September was 104,550,780 while this months average difficulty is going to be over 216,654,943 which is OVER a 100% increase.

Seems that money printing devices have seen somewhere around $100m in investment come in the form of 100% pre-orders and that investment has made the difficulty jump 30% more or less each diff period.

These are the risks along with manufacturer delay and BTC price.

One more thing, if you know of any 50btc.com refugees that would like to mine with us, make sure you use an invite to get them on board.  Smiley

Development Update

PPS rewards are working and are being calculated correctly. I have some bug fixes to make today regarding different areas of the site that are affected by the new rewards system but nothing major.

A pool user was kind enough to point out that the payment threshold setting wasn't able to be set below 1. I will correct this.

When making a payment request manually or setting the threshold, the minimum will be 0.01 BTC. I am also going to lower the network fee to 0.0001 for each withdrawal.

After these items are knocked out, I'll be moving on to more features that have been requested by users and my staff.
335  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~95Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 21, 2013, 01:40:32 PM
Minimum difficulty should be hashrate/1.4.

The port 3333 works for me.

You can mine on port 80, 443 or 3333.

To mine on port 80, you do not need to enter a port, cgminer/bfgminer just assume port 80 if not specified.

All,

In reference to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=54673.msg1699409#msg1699409

Please:

  • Make sure you password is unique for the pool.
  • Setup Google Authenticator under Dashboard -> Security
  • Make sure your payment threshold is low enough so you get multiple payment requests per day.

While we take every measure to make sure that coins are safe and only a limited number of them could be stolen at any point in time, if your account is breached because of lax security and reuse of passwords, it will not turn out well.

As for multiple payment requests a day, if the pool sees more than one from the same address, we combine all requests into a single output in the transaction.

Best,
James

Totally didn't think about this and it is a great reason to change it back. I'll make sure to do that Monday morning.

Changed back.  Smiley

Hey!

Is there any Android App to get infos over the api from the pool?

No Android app at this time.

Most of us cannot see our hashrate from the pool stats...

Totally didn't think about this and it is a great reason to change it back. I'll make sure to do that Monday morning.

speaking of stats, did you know on an ipad that some of the columns are missing...  HTML mobile thing?

Tables are optimized to make sure they fit within the viewing screen.

and I like change.... i like the way the price of bitcoin has changed Smiley

I think most of us here like that change. Cheesy

Hello. I'm a new KNC user here looking to use a nice pool. I was using BTC Guild which has been working fine, are there any reasons to
switch over to another pool like this one? It's not like I'm going to make more coin, right?
Thanks

Decentralization of mining power between pools is a good start. I'm bias on almost every other level though, so maybe some pool participants should answer your question.
