1821  Other / Archival / Re: ZB Exchange - Possible hack, ~$5 million on: August 09, 2022, 05:01:56 PM
Nothing surprising. If a very big Exchange like Binance can be hacked then Tire 3 Exchange hack is normal. I haven't used them so I am not familiar with their security system. But it's become hard to trust Centralized exchanges nowadays. Not only for funds, but they also lie. However, hope users will not be affected by this hack. Exchange should recover users' funds from their ends.
1822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unquestioned goal and habit on: August 09, 2022, 04:50:50 PM
Deadline for cryptocurrency? No way. Cryptocurrency isn't for impatience people. I am holding a few tokens for a long time. I had a target though but I leave it on Ledger. Not gonna touch unless I make some profits. Doesn't matter even not hit my expectations. And of course, there is no deadline. Just holding for profits. The only expected to make profits doesn't matter it take how long. That's why we say don't hold if you can't afford it.
1823  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why I love Bitcoin and bitcointalk on: August 09, 2022, 04:40:55 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized, not anonymous actually. All of your public data is available in the blockchain. Yea, you can hide your identity if you want through Tor or mixer, but your address shouldn't share anywhere then. You can hide your IP during the transaction if you like. The same goes for the forum. It's traceable unless you use a privacy browser like Tor. Your privacy depends on you how will you handle it.
1824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US government is targeting mixers. Are BTC mixers next? on: August 09, 2022, 12:42:19 PM
It's pretty normal governance doesn't like hiding your funds or income. So they will try to prevent you from using a mixer. I am not sure if the US can shut down mixers from any other country where Bitcoin is legal tender like El Salvador. Or can they shut down if it's operating through onion? I can't recall but have seen the government close and takeover the mixer site before. So it's possible they will attack the Bitcoin mixer as well. But for sure, people will discover something to hide their privacy.
1825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you assess the value of Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2022, 07:23:58 PM
It depends on the situation when we should accumulate. Everyone has different thoughts. A lot of people still buying and a lot of people waiting to fall in the price. So based on the price range Bitcoin playing around with, you have to set a target to accumulate. Also, you should have targets of sale though you intend to hold for a long time. Basically, I accumulate when happening massive dump and dump again. Because pumps happen after every dump. I dare to accumulate if single dump.
1826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have anyone saw bitcoin? on: August 08, 2022, 07:16:09 PM
Stupid question. Have you seen any electronic money ever? Everything in the Digital world is just a number. Like you have a balance in the back, do you see paper money in your account when checking on your smartphone? But you can take our paper money. Why you won't consider this way? Bitcoin you can't see expect a number online, but you can convert it to money. You forgot Bitcoin had a value that had been backed by a large community. Although it's volatile, you may cash out it.
1827  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why People Use Bitcointalk on: August 07, 2022, 06:43:00 PM
How of I ask why people use Bitcoin and love Bitcoin were a lot of altcoins around us. The answer will be almost the same. Because Bitcoin is the mother coin that has been deployed by Satoshi Nakamoto. And this forum is Bitcointalk founded by the same person. People love to stay here to learn about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Also, people earn from here variously by selling their skills or products. It's become the most popular cryptocurrency forum nowadays. That's why people love this forum.
1828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador claim bitcoin attracts tourists right or wrong? on: August 07, 2022, 02:28:52 PM
I am not getting what is the relationship between Bitcoin legal tender & tourism. I don't see any reasonable scenario between that. Also, increase tourists doesn't mean Bitcoin, it's likely due to the COVID break. If tourist visits El Salvador due to Bitcoin being legal tender, then they should curious to use Bitcoin there. But not happening anything like this.
1829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store on: August 07, 2022, 01:59:26 PM
A good initiative so far. Even though it's a little crypto adaption but I appreciate this little try. It's easy to accept Bitcoin payment for a shop by simply using a QR code. It doesn't require too much technical knowledge. Just you need a basic idea of how to verify a transaction whether received or not. Yea, challenging things are volatility. It's better if you can hold if you can afford other stuff. Otherwise, you may use the exchange to convert it instantly. So you will not have to encounter volatility. Hope more shops will inspire by you.
1830  Economy / Exchanges / Re: High withdraw fee rates by binance etc, Why?! on: August 07, 2022, 01:22:05 PM
Exchange charges are high because it's their business. They are taking care of your funds and accounts. You know it's a withdrawal fee, not a transaction fee. They are holding funds on your behalf of you. Though they are making revenue from trading fees, withdrawal fee is more high revenue for them. It's because we are forced to pay if in case deposit there. So don't use CEX unless you want to trade. Use a non-custodial wallet to handle your funds, so you don't need to spend extra for transferring funds.
1831  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Taking profits vs holding long term? on: August 06, 2022, 06:52:56 PM
Do both if you can. Hold for a long time to get a good ROI without much panic. And trade with some funds if you are a pro trader. Traders would multiply portfolios even in bear, of course only risk takers could do it. Though I do long trade now which looks like a hold. But I don't hold for too long. When I have a good profit I just sell and wait for a dip. If happens to dip then accumulate, if not I will wait. I can't short trade lately due to lack of time and experience as well.
1832  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do I need a VPN to short trade in the UK ? UK FCA crypto confusion on: August 06, 2022, 06:47:10 PM
Listen, bro, don't take the risk. Whenever you are using a centralized exchange keep in mind you aren't controlling your funds or account. The exchange could ban at any time for breaking terms of service. So it's important to read the terms of service that exchange you intend to use. How will you prevent yourself from submitting your KYC even if you hide your IP? Just be fair and comply with the terms.
1833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Portuguese Banks Stop the use of Cryptos (Bitcoin) on: August 06, 2022, 06:38:55 PM
Isn't ridiculous that you can go nearby country to sell your Bitcoin but you can't sell Portugal? But they want to prevent money laundering. Isn't that a suicide le decision? It's just nonsense, banks not getting themselves what they are doing. Still can money Laundering and still can use Bitcoin. But the bank will lose revenue. The summary is Bank don't like a decentralized ecosystem where they don't have control over that.
1834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin : A digital currency or a computer program? on: August 06, 2022, 06:28:46 PM
Bitcoin is p2p electronic cash. So definitely have to use a computer program. Because blockchain solves computing systems when you transfer data (make transactions). We are just transferring data and Bitcoin always exists on the blockchain hence its accessible from the worldwide computing system. It's coin because a code has been deployed to the decentralized blockchain where we can use the unit to hold or transfer like money.
1835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The British Museum has some Bitcoin items on display on: August 06, 2022, 06:18:35 PM
Interesting. But those who aren't familiar with Bitcoin or have not heard about Bitcoin they won't notice Bitcoin-related stuff. Because they will think it's just a Symbol of something unless they become curious to search Google. But still good to me, who knows some people would get interested in Bitcoin due to this museum. If I visit London, I would love to visit this museum, thanks for sharing with us.
1836  Other / Meta / Re: How important are you on this forum? on: August 05, 2022, 08:14:46 PM
In the beginning, even though I wasn't an established member, global moderators replied to me when I DM them for anything. I don't think it's related to how important we are to the forum. All members of the forum are important, they are part of the ecosystem. But everyone can't lead. So it would be who is leading position or a well-established member.

I have changed my Display name two times which is a record on the forum. Theymos hasn't refused me both times and replied so quickly. Also regarding merit source, he has DM me. So at least I can say I am a well-Established member here, but don't know how am I important this forum.
1837  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading then switching currencies on: August 05, 2022, 07:59:04 PM
Pro traders usually choose BTC pairs to increase their BTC portfolio. But it really depends on the trader's mentality and how will he trade. If you want to increase Bitcoin then should choose to pair with Bitcoin. If you are worried about volatility then stable coin pairs if better for you. Since you are very new I will prefer to trade against a stablecoin. So you will not be lost much if you can trade carefully. But trading is always risky, you would lose your portfolio anytime due to a bear market.
1838  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: $50,000 Dollar theft by the fraud company localbitcoins.com on: August 05, 2022, 07:51:38 PM
Thanks for your suggestion. What if LBC see its(what I am expecting) and file a case against me for cyber crime? In my country you are not allowed to expose scam or discirmination. You will end up in prison for a few  years if you do so.

First time where you can't expose scams even though you are a victim. Does it mean your country does not support cryptocurrency? If so then it's fine. Otherwise, it is a stupid rule or you can't express exactly the actual situation. Instead, you should have the right to file a case against LocalBitcoin. Because they block your account without reason. Are you sure you haven't done anything wrong and your clients haven't reported you? Make sure everything if you intend to take legal action.
1839  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] pangoıinminer.com (homograph/Punycode attack)!!! on: August 05, 2022, 07:43:01 PM
The type of domain itself is suspicious to me. I don't click these types of a domain when I see them. Any legit brand wouldn't choose this kinda fucking domain. So we need just stay away from such suspicious things that we aren't familiar with. Shouldn't be greedy, so you can avoid a lot of scams in your life. Thanks, OP for sharing with us, keep it up.
1840  Other / Archival / Re: Scamfari - Report a scam and earn money on: August 05, 2022, 05:04:23 PM
It's a good initiative if there is transparency. But who knows the reality? They are the ones who will approve, so it's very easy to manipulate the leaderboard. I am curious why someone will pay for hunting scams. Though it will inspire some people for hunting scams either they pay or keep themselves. But it would be a nice database if the public can verify scammers from their database.
