21  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [BEWARE] The user "Bono" is a scammer. Do NOT trust! on: January 07, 2014, 06:53:03 AM
Bono has provided some proof that he did send 1.00 BTC from his Coinbase account on the date/time he claims to have paid chairforce1. However, the address differs from the screenshot that chairforce1 posted in the OP.  I have sent a PM to Theymos to see if we can get more data on this. In the meantime I have removed my negative rating for Bono.

No fricking kidding.

Don't you find it AMAZING that he would post a screenshot of his transaction history plus THE ENTIRE HOMEPAGE of his portfolio website (and all that other oddly specific shit) without ever so much as stating his "real" receiving address until it was pointed out like a day later?

I'm calling photoshop on the "message" he added btw.

You guys are making it hard to be nice. Do you all just assume guilty until proven innocent? Or are you all so desensitized that you didn't think about what your words would look like when it came out that I was actually innocent.

Either way I hope you all feel like asses.

It's so easy to fake a scam report like this one. Jesus Tapdancing Christ. If I had posted this thread before chairforce1, I bet you'd have all jumped on the bandwagon against him.

Stop making it difficult for me to be nice to you.
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: Better return by buying $35 per day of BTC on Coinbase, everyday? on: January 07, 2014, 05:41:11 AM
Looks like this has been settled with economic maths...

But it really seems more like common sense to me. The value of Bitcoin vs the value of the dollar grows so rapidly why wouldn't you buy as much as possible, as fast as possible?

Would you rather spend $950 on a Bitcoin NOW, or 30 dollars a day until February?

Jeesh.
23  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [BEWARE] The user "Bono" is a scammer. Do NOT trust! on: January 07, 2014, 04:30:49 AM
Right, and do you know chairforce1's receiving address for that transaction? No, you don't.

Does anyone but me know? Just chairforce1. If I post a screencap, he'll call it a fake. If I post a blockchain link, the answer will be "Nope, not my address, liar." I already stated I don't save my messages so it's not like I'll have a record of him stating what it is. He doesn't have to worry about me blowing his story out of the water.

He has so artfully synthesized this lie that I'm basically burned no matter what I do - all his bitching seems so sincere, doesn't it? His anger, so real. His frustration, so lucid.

But he's a troll and nothing more. Lying by omission is still lying.

So, at the risk of having this turn into he-said she-said, I'm just going to ignore the fucker and ask that Mr. Tomato remove his negative review because nobody can say for sure what happened except me and the troll who started it. My actions and attitude speak for themselves. I bring a positive influence to the forum. If chairforce1 wants to post his own negative review and get his jollies off, that's fine.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me or just read through my other overly-wordy posts ITT. You'll likely find an explanation.

Have a pleasant evening.

24  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [BEWARE] The user "Bono" is a scammer. Do NOT trust! on: January 07, 2014, 04:11:21 AM
Why don't you post the transaction to prove your innocence?

If I try to defend myself it will be called BS by the troll who posted the thread, and frankly I don't have any interest in digging up blockchain info for 17 different Coinbase wallet addresses for no reason.

You see, chairforce1 has created a unique situation by omitting his Bitcoin address in the original post. Either of us could post the record of the transaction and the other could call it a lie.

It's just my word vs his at this juncture. I tried stating my point and I'd like to think I look like a straight shooter.

But that was all in my original post... so... maybe this one will be easier for you to read?

*shrug*

P.S.

I am more annoyed than anything. I am the victim of an internet troll trying to extort Bitcoins offa me. Apologies if I sound snappy.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: diversity is near impossible for BTC bulls on: January 07, 2014, 04:01:52 AM

What? I don't... even...

Following your own 90% rule is just forcing you to lose money in the long run. As long as the initial investment was 90% or less of what you had, why would you draw from it constantly?

Seriously... I can't even fathom...

Are you just pulling our legs to see how many replies this gets?
26  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [BEWARE] The user "Bono" is a scammer. Do NOT trust! on: January 07, 2014, 03:45:04 AM
Oi vey.

You're really going all out aren't you?

There are a few things are wrong with your post:

1) The first and most obvious omission is a screenshot of the message where you gave me your Bitcoin address. No matter what record of our transaction I post, you will be able to cry foul, claim the receiving address isn't yours, and say I'm just posting any random 1 BTC trade from the time period we were talking about.

I myself don't save personal messages for more than a day, so I'm kinda out of luck on that one.

2) I made it clear in my messages (as I do with every potential trade partner) that I use Coinbase, and their fucked up system can create multiple addresses for each transaction. All in all, the 1.0 BTC I sent you was siphoned through about 16 addresses to get to you, adding an element of intricacy that makes my claim hard to prove especially given point #1.

3) You mentioned that you looked through all my recent posts to judge my character. And what did you find? Nothing that would indicate I have or had any kind of bad intention. Why would I blow my reputation for a small pile of altcoins and risk ostracizing myself from a community I've newly grown to enjoy?

I will say that my cable did go out at the absolute most inopportune time. That was kind of embarrassing and I really did rush to pay you once it was up, but it did take a few hours.

You know what I think? I think maybe you got mad at me for forcing you to wait, and enacted this childish vendetta against me as an attempt to extort another Bitcoin out of me.

Well I ain't budging.

As for you, Mr. Tomato:

I really do respect the way you do business, and you even PM'd me (with manners no less!) asking me to state my case here. I'd like to think I offer a positive influence to this community as a legitimate trader - and I'm rather shocked nobody called out this chairforce guy for omitting some needed information from this post. Given the odd nature of the deal, would you mind removing your negative feedback? I mean, if the troll wants to post some of his own, that's fine, but to have vets bagging on me for unproven and fallacious allegations would really suck.

Hopefully the next guy I deal with won't throw a temper tantrum.

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying 1 BTC worth of LTC on: January 05, 2014, 07:52:20 PM
That's horseshit and you know it.

I sent you the BTC yesterday evening and have sent you the blockchain record 3 times now in reply to your profanity-filled PMs. Stop messaging me with threats and lies or you are simply going on my ignore list. I don't have the want or need to scam people for a low amount of some altcoin.

It kind of pisses me off that someone could be dense enough to disregard all the messages I sent because they're too busy throwing an unjustified tantrum. Makes me wonder if you're a troll or what?

I signed up for this forum (mostly) to trade and build up a reputation with the community. No way am I going to throw that away after such a short time here and for some chump change. It's a shame losers like you tend to ruin it for the honest ones.

28  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Withdrawing USD from btc-e or another exchange sites ? on: January 05, 2014, 07:25:28 PM
If you don't mind waiting, you could use MtGox...? Their fees aren't terrible.

From one of their FAQ pages:

Quote
Withdrawals

All withdrawals will be sent through the Mt. Gox Polish bank account and will involve a 1% fee with a minimum of 5.5 PLN

Please note the following rules :
- It is not possible to withdraw less than 10 EUR.
- Withdraws lower than 100.00 EUR are on average take less than a week.
- It takes at least a month on average for withdrawals larger than 10,000 EUR
- Withdrawals greater than 50,000 EUR need to be split it into multiple transfers or you can use the International Wire payment method.
- Due to the volume of withdrawals requests, each customer is currently only allowed 1 withdrawal every 20 days (estimate)

Situation as of 4th January 2014: We are currently processing withdrawals requested 3 weeks ago. (Users with several withdrawals in the queue must take the 20 day rule above into account)
29  Economy / Speculation / Gox is at $1,000 - will it ever go lower again? on: January 05, 2014, 06:57:23 PM
Discuss why/why not.

For me personally - I think we are in the early stages of a rally to an ATH. I'm not sure though how much this revitalized BTC is depending on that good news from Facebook.

Thoughts?
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Official Bitcoin Price Prediction for Dec 31, 2014 on: January 05, 2014, 02:19:52 PM
I dont care what anyone says ITT... 5 figures or bust

Wake me up when btc is at least $10k

What happens at $10k?  It's like the magic ceiling we had int he past with the DOW reaching $10k.  It's just a number.  Do you sell?  Do you hold?  Are we all richer? Wink

It is another one of those psychologically pleasing numbers that may cause a big sell-off.

If it can hit plateaus like this and keep growing, that is a sign of strength.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Buying 1 BTC worth of LTC on: January 04, 2014, 05:05:25 PM
Hullo thar.

I'm looking to add to my stash of Litecoin.

Going by BTC-e's current fiat prices, I'd like to receive 32 LTC in exchange for 1 BTC, which I think is a pretty good deal at the moment.

If you want some details or (knock on wood) to haggle for a deal, feel free to PM me. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks!

Just realised that it is morning time in the US. Good morning Americans! Smiley

Good morning foreigner!

Where's my breakfast?

I need it to celebrate BTC's new rally.

33  Economy / Speculation / Re: Start of a new rally? on: January 04, 2014, 04:41:17 PM
Just hit $900  Grin

Edit: Now $905  Shocked

I thinks it's kind of unfair for people all jazzed up about the price to use Gox's standard. The only reason Gox has it so high is because it's nearly fucking impossible to withdraw fiat from your account, so they have to make it worth the extra time to people selling BTC.

Would you EVER sell your BTC on Gox, realistically knowing it would take months to get all your fiat into your pocket?

I personally use Coinbase as an indicator as its price is tied to several exchanges, most heavily weighted by BitStamp - and it's probably the best combination of fast/safe in regards to moving fiat...

Their price says $825 and I'm good with that.

35  Economy / Services / Re: Creating an Online Bitcoin gaming website on: January 03, 2014, 02:46:00 AM
to create a new form of online gaming I created

lolwat

I'm just a web programmer so I don't think my skills are applicable here -

But developing a massive online game is going to set you back. Anybody who is willing to help you would want a payment up front and a massive stake in the finished product.

Perhaps you could reveal a little more?

This is the kind of post that necessitates the newbie section and posting restrictions.

Anyone who makes it out of the nooby phase should feel special, having overcome mind-rotting post restrictions and the highest rate of scammers among any member group.

I'm going to upload my avatar once my account is old enough and there's nothing you can do about it.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum Computing and Bitcoin on: January 02, 2014, 01:11:23 AM
great poster, can we get the high res somewhere?

That's the highest-quality I've seen. Grabbed the image URL right off this forum.
40  Other / Meta / Re: Dear Bitcointalk... on: January 02, 2014, 12:56:16 AM
Well shouldn't it be called "bitcoin speculation" and alt coins have a subforum called "alt speculation". Or you guys should just get rid off alt-coin subforums all together and launch altcointalk... 😒

Speculation, I think, should include altcoins by default, since ultimately they are all tied to the price of Bitcoin.

Every exchange offers altcoins at rates of $/Altcoin or BTC/Altcoin.

Speculation should cover all coins for this reason.
