8101  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Minning is wasting money, why still minners? on: October 06, 2014, 12:56:54 PM
is there anybody purchasing new hardware or cloud hasing contracts?

I haven't seen any cloud hashing contract profitable after doing 2-3 calculations.

Why invest money in ASIC cards or any other brand, when the bitcoin price is trending down?

I haven't seen any hardware that you can purchase now and get at least the money back even with free electricity

Am I missing something?

I'm using this calculator:

http://mining-profit.com/advanced-calculator

if anyone is making positive returns, can you show here with numbers?

The people mining not  only for gain bitcoin , but most importantly for support the network Wink .

Yes , sure : www.kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/#archcoin  .

8103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you guys believe Nemesis? on: October 06, 2014, 11:22:29 AM
He is indeed the wall owner. I cannot tell you how I know this.

Do you think he was bitchslapped with the wall - or will he indeed do what he promised:

I'm not done yet, getting more ammo.

I think nemesis is "related" with  Mt.gox ..... Maybe I'm wrong.  Roll Eyes .
8104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] – The Profit Network on: October 06, 2014, 11:11:45 AM
What is the supply at this moment. Or even more detailed, what is the marketcap at this moment. But the amount of coins at this moment would be more usefull to know

Supply is in the ANN.

Market cap is: supply x price.

That's good question.

BTCarchitect when can we see Archcoin on www.coinmarketcap.com ??

We should just directly ask coinmarketcap.

I've requested their to add ARCHcoin  on the site ,  this is the form :  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1IZf5cBivam_93zENT_arFFuvWDidHGjWxoTMVmFSoWg/viewform

Well done redsn0w. Thanks !

Keep us informed please if you get the answer.

You're welcome , no problem I will tell you if they will reply to my request !

ARCH  to the moon !

8107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 06, 2014, 10:58:39 AM
Hi burst follower!!!

any ideas about recent price fall?

for first i think was for btc fall... but now i do not think so: btc stop is fall, but not burst...

any ideas about it?

Burst stopped falling...it's not going any lower...even the mega dumpers won't go that low.

Im holding around 750,000 now - Mined and bought - And I haven't sold a single coin.

I will sell off 20% at 3,000 Sat to recover the cost of the hardrives and power etc. and then hold indefinitely.

Only a complete and utter mug would sell these things for less than 1000 sat and the smart ones will hold until 3000 or higher depending on how much they invested in hardware and electricity.

I intend to slowly become a bigger and bigger holder of BURST - this is one coin that isn't going anywhere but up long term. When Bitcoin takes off and sparks the general public interest in Crypto I expect to see a story or two regarding Burstcoin in the media - Can hear it already  "Get this folks, you can now get coins using nothing but your hard drive, no investment or fancy mining tools needed!"

If Bitcoin fails then everything fails - period. If Bitcoin succeeds then we are going to be taken up with it - it happened with Litecoin (genuine innovator at the time) and it will happen again.

Fill  a sell order on bittrex , maybe you will lucky !  At the moment the price is "so ridiculous"  Undecided

8110  Economy / Speculation / Re: For sale on Bitstamp: 13780 BTC at $300. on: October 06, 2014, 10:00:35 AM
Sold or canceled?

Sold...over the span of several hours.

I think the dude lost his Internet connection when he tried to put up a fake wall. Couldn't afford wifi.

the unique wall that was deleted is the 30k btc wall  Roll Eyes ( and the othe of 26k - I think ).  And maybe this is the "genius"

I followed 38,094 btc upstream, which were moved yesterday evening

Might be, or might not be related ...:

38,094 btc https://blockchain.info/de/address/1JX5hS3HyVT3VwnEgvoPLVu6ujPFH7BvrY
<-- 40,304 btc https://blockchain.info/de/address/159SCycgn8weAy2XGUEhD6V1RTFni7E3iq
<-- -- 35,327 btc https://blockchain.info/de/address/19Gt9VKmmyMpMHEv6dkf8ddwmwddoSoJ8w

And that last address 19Gt9VKmmyMpMHEv6dkf8ddwmwddoSoJ8w has been accumulating 900-2000 btc portions between August and October 2012.

Anyone can interprete those quite regular, and similiarly sized transactions (from always 4-6 source addresses) ?

BTW, back then, the price was ~25 times lower than his 300$

I'm sure this is starting to sound like a broken record. But why do people have coins in their wallet and others don't.
Does anyone have a step by step instruction on how to get the coins in the wallet?

I thought it was as easy as having them get inserted into the receiver addresses given during the ICO.

I've updated wallet. It's in sync. Inserted my backup dat?

Do I just wait?

Yes  , if you are not sure followe the dev rules :

...snip...

Might want to backup the wallet.dat
download the wallet http://archcoin.co/wallets/
delete all the arch folders
start your new arch wallet then exit
copy your wallet.dat to the folder
restart wallet

8117  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: October 05, 2014, 09:10:37 PM
I think that most here don't understand the bitcoin price cycle vs bitcoin mining cycle. There are too many bitcoin miners, including industrial size, which mostly liquidate mined bitcoins. If situation of 2011 was to repeat itself, bitcoin price will have to move low enough for a crash in network mining capability (which is still increasing as we speak at a brisk 20% rate every 12 days even with this crash). Only if and when network hashing stabilizes or reduces about ~50% (as in 2011), the new bull market will ensue. Prediction: it will happen in the next 2-4 mo, but the price might have to go much lower first (exact repeat of 2011 will mean ~$72/BTC).
Personally, I stopped buying mining equipment already.

The noobs here don't understand that mining is irrelevant for price. It is the preference to hold more or hold less, that makes the price. You have yesterdays price and other peoples valuations, there is nothing that connects bitcoin value to eartly stuff. Deal with it.

So what is the *real* thing that give the value to bitcoin  Cheesy ?
