Because we would probably not get to coinmarket.io fast, we should try to get to mintpal.com, which is also very nice and growing exchange. New coins are added every day and there's quite a lot of trade there. It will be good for GRUMP to get there.

To get listed at mintpal.com we need to vote for Grumpy Coin as many times as possible during the day.

Please register:
https://www.mintpal.com/register

Vote for Grumpy Coin 6x every hour:
https://www.mintpal.com/voting

For unregistered users it is only 3 votes.

We also need to donate some BTC to help to get to MintPal faster. Every 0.05 BTC will get us 1000 votes (1 vote cost 0.00005000 BTC).

This is a direct BTC address for MintPal donation. You can send any amount you like, even very small. Every donation counts!

If every one of us votes 10 times a day x6 votes it will be several hundreds votes daily! Just vote, it is FREE.

I've voted, and will continue to do so.

Also, what about the BTC that is in the wallet that Templar posted - can that be sent accross? I have already sent a small donation.

Also sent a small donation for a few votes.

Agreed! I would love to be able to tip people on reddit. We could also do giveaway threads in /r/cryptocurrency and link people to /r/Grumpycoins, to get more redditors involved.

Forget Reddit - Aim for the trolls on youtube!!!

For some reason the block explorer doesn't work.

I'm going to switch back to my Asrock extreme4 tomorrow, and see if that makes a difference.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 280x Problem - low hash rate after power cut. on: February 18, 2014, 04:06:11 AM
Can't get it to boot with this MOBO though!!

Either way, it has been hashing fine for a few weeks - one powercut and now nothing I tweak can get it above 580kh

Something damaged maybe??
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU underpowered for XFX 7950 + Sapphire 280x? on: February 18, 2014, 04:05:03 AM
Interesting to hear how it works out for you.

I have watched this video where they put together a 6x 280x rig with some insane hash rates. They  use non-powered risers but each card adds significantly to the draw from the motherboard, i think around 50W actually (that board was designed for mining though). They end up using 3 power supplies.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfqfEpanpig&feature=youtu.be

So i might give powered risers a try. Anybody can recommend good suppliers in the US? I looked on newegg but what they sell gets bad ratings...

I have some decent old 650w power supplies around, without pci-e 8-pin connectors. I wonder if something like this would work, to add to the 1000 that i already have:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA29716C8626

Yes I think those molex converters should work.

Have a look here for risers - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=392536.0;topicseen

I would definitely keep it 50 billion as it was stated in the initial coin post.

But let's keep it long term, so the coin won't die.

How about such solutions (10 or 20 years of mining):

~ 10 years of steady mining

1/ 500,000   20000   10 000 000 000
2/ 250,000   20000   5 000 000 000
3/ 125,000   20000   2 500 000 000
4/ 62,500   20000   1 250 000 000
5/ 31,250   20000   625 000 000
6/ 15,625   20000   312 500 000

      19 687 500 000

And after reaching ~ 20 billion coins stop halving process and keep it 15625 coins / block.

With 2.5 minutes blocks we have 576 blocks / day.

576 blocks x 15625 coins = 9 000 000 coins / day x 365 = 3 285 000 000 coins / year.

-------------------------

~ 20 years of steady mining

1/ 500,000   20000   10 000 000 000
2/ 250,000   20000   5 000 000 000
3/ 125,000   20000   2 500 000 000
4/ 62,500   20000   1 250 000 000
5/ 31,250   20000   625 000 000
6/ 15,625   20000   312 500 000
7/ 7,812.5   20000   156 250 000

      19 843 750 000

And after reaching ~ 20 billion coins stop halving process and keep it 7812.5 coins / block.

With 2.5 minutes blocks we have 576 blocks / day.

576 blocks x 7812.5 coins = 9 000 000 coins / day x 365 = 1 642 500 000 coins / year.

-------------------------

Keep in mind that with today price of 1 satoshi / GRUMP one block (initial 500k coins) is worth 0.005 BTC and 250k block is worth 0.0025 BTC. But the price for GRUMPY should rise, so with ~ 25 satoshi 7812.5 coins / block would be worth 0.00195 BTC, so it should still be a good reward for new miners.

What do you think??

I think that is the most sensible way to do it!!

AND THEN UPDATE ORIGINAL POST!! GRAPHICS, LARGER MORE COLOURFUL TEXT, AND EVERYTHING UPDATED!!
630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Grumpycoin][GRUMP] Grumpycoin v1.2 KGW - Now in Cryptorush.in on: February 18, 2014, 01:33:38 AM
Since the name of the coin is Grumpycoin, I think maybe a good application would be to start using it to tip people with bad attitudes or negative comments on forums.

It would be an interesting dynamic because although people would technically be rewarded financially for being rude or pessimistic, the reward would come with a little bit of shame. It's like an oxymoron.

I don't know exactly how it would play out, but a whole bunch of interesting behavior and hopefully lighthearted joking negitivism and tipping could develop. It would be a lot of fun. Bizarro Doge.

I don't know how to start that or make a tipbot or whatever on Reddit, but if someone likes the idea and knows more about how to set it up, I will definitely use some of my grumpycoins to tip haters. Much more fun than downvoting, don't you think?
I like that idea a lot Smiley

I voted for 20 Billion, but I realize after seeing your guys thoughts that I was just being greedy. I just wanted price to go up.

Lowering the planned supply would probably have the opposite effect because of the negative image it brings, and if we have learned anything from other coins, the honest ones have a better chance of succeeding. This coin has a similar feel to doge. It needs to be fun and friendly, people need to trust it and enjoy it.

So, I change my vote 50 billion.

how can anyone say a coin needs to be trusted, and then say change the total limit in the very next sentance. changing anything once released makes investors/users/anyone think that if you change it once whats stopping you changing it again. and the whole store of value theory is lost.

Well no, I'm saying you shouldn't change the total limit, but I think I understand what you're thinking.

It was originally 50 billion and everyone thinks its 50 billion. The dev was saying he found an error in the code that made it actually 20 billion and he was asking if he should just leave it (which would effectively be changing it) or change it to 50 billion (which would effectively be keeping it). That's the way I see it anyway.

And I agree -  lets make this as honest and transparent as possible - 50Billion as originaly agreed.

Shit, Can I change my vote?? I meant to vote for 50 million, as per the OP.

Hit the wrong button - sorry.
Ok, I'll take your vote into account.

Also, cherominerito pmd me and he has a good point. He says changing it to 20 Billion won't be well seen by the altcoin community, because 10 Billion have been already created and It would look like we were trying to artificially manipulate the price.

That was my thoughts, leave it as is at 50BIL

Yes, I think 20 billion is even better xD, but I just want you to know this is a small issue and we can change it anytime to whatever you like.
How did you manage to count 50 billion instead of 20 at the start Grin?

I think we've established that this guy is no Einstein. I'd be a lot more surprised if he had gotten it right! It's like the blind leading the blind in here and this thread is constantly in my face due to endless bumps - could you guys make your own forum or something? I really don't think you guys want people reading through this thread anyway - it's pretty embarrassing for all involved and I don't think you're attracting anybody new at this point. I'm only frustrated because the pollution in this forum is staggering and it's impossible to navigate as-is.

I like this subforum, so I'll keep using it Smiley

Absolutely killed it Templar! Well done son.

But yes this is a learning curve for us all, why not start off with the basics and work our way to the top learning everything on the way. And besides, who are you to tell us where we should or shouldn't post.

If they where investors, that should be the buyers list, surely?

Edit/ sorry I see what you mean now - someone sold at 2 satoshi, which means someone bought at it too! lol
