bitcoin has its value because of its limited supply, if you want to see a lot of coins in your wallet then you should give a try to altcoins like Doge that have big supply, do you think that bitcoin will stay same if total supply is increased? it will crash badly
There were some alts that reduced their total coins due to be minted to increase the price. It worked, and increasing the total coins due to be minted would probably crash the price.

Disregard short squeeze. People are not incorrectly reading bad news as though it were good news like they normally do. Bring on the end of the world.
haha I was waiting for someone to try and spin this further delay and uncertainty surrounding the ETF as good news, but it seems not to be happening. I think they've spotted the snipers in the bushes You sir are trying to do the spinning No sir , just calling it how it is If I am spinning, please explain to me how further delay of something that people are eagerly anticipating for a boost in prices is positive. Clearly their last submission was not approved or they would not need to submit another one. Clearly this pushes back the timeline. At best it's neutral if you were not expecting an imminent launch. The whole news article was complete misrepresentation and omitted most of the facts. That is spinning ... or just piss poor journalism +1 I almost took the author's word for it. Thankfully others took the time to do some proper research.

Was the upgrade to V2 just a scam to stall people and get time to cash out?
I'm not sure, but it might have been. The v2 was a complete mess that never really worked. Some people's balances conveniently disappeared after the swap over.

You can read the long version here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=824211.0Mintpal was sold to a scammer who kept changing his name. He stole all the bitcoins and ran away with them. A UK court case about it is ongoing, but the last I heard nobody knows where the scammer is. Other people helping to run Mintpal have returned some of the low value shit coins on there to people.

based on the filed in 2013 its 1mil shares worth 0.2 btc each with price point at $100/btc and propose IPO share price of 20$/share
Based on this alone, thats 200k BTC valuation irrespective of $$. I dont really know a whole lot about this but would Winkle's have to physical prove that they have in their possession 200k btc worth to file this with the SEC?
Wasn't there some alrge movement of btc in the last few months, would this account to proving ownership?
They don't have to move any coins to prove ownership, they only have to sign a message from an address holding the coins.

Is the stock market a virtual gold rush?
Well, I would say that the stock market was wild west in the 60s and 80s, when everybody thought they could make a fortune on stocks. Instead of Miners, they were called Yuppies OK yah

I think altcoins in general are a bit of a joke. There are a few that are innovative, but I think their future is relant on bitcoins success, not the other way round.
Most alts are bitcoin with a different name. Changing the name is the devs only innovation.

So whyt would happen if the majority of the community now would just put no more btc sale offers lower than maybe 380 for now on the exchanges??
It's nearly impossible to get the majority of the community to agree on anything.

For crying out loud, it's already been established that it's a mute button. Don't you read earlier posts?
So... what does this button do, after all? Now it says last processed block: 61972 (2014-12-30 22:48:10 utc, 45s ago) edit]There is probably something wrong with your browser. These are the block times mine shows when viewing the block explorer. block: 61660 - 2014-12-29 22:08:46 utc block: 61661 - 2014-12-29 22:15:50 utc block: 61662 - 2014-12-29 22:26:15 utc block: 61663 - 2014-12-29 22:29:11 utc How can the last processed block be 61661 (2014-12-29 22:22:06 utc, 1d 0h ago) when the next block 61662 was generated on 2014-12-29 at 22:26:15 utc?

Almost all the alts have crashed in value since January, and the chart shows peercoin is no different. Why should we expect it to rally now?

Haven't you thought of the gold rush? I would say we are in the middle of 21st century gold rush. It will probably be as the last time, a very few will be lucky and the rest survivals will not even earn bread and butter. Well, a virtual goldrush. But there are more than one similarities between this and the wild west: there's quite some people digging for digital gold, people trying to steal that digital gold, you can gamble with what you find and when your equipment wear out there's plenty of shops to get new gear. Hell there's even hookers that'll accept your digital gold. So when looking for legitimacy consider your own observation: the streets don't change, only their names. I don't think they had blow in the wild west though. Hookers yes, blow no.
