101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons to Invest in Bitcoin?? on: August 12, 2021, 09:46:25 AM
I give you these three simple reasons:
1 - Full control over your wealth (if you are paranoid enough you can have the toughest deep cold storage system and make bitcoin inaccessible even for yourself Grin). Jokes aside this is my first reason to have bitcoin, to be able to control my own wealth
2 - 24/7 operating transacting system that works without troubles since 12 years. I can transfer my money without asking for permission to anyone
3 - Safe haven against central banks monetary policy, inflation, banking robberies, dictators and all the rest of it.

It was harder than expected, but in the end Chelsea brought home the first trophy of the season. Winning after the penalties is always a kind of liberation after a match that was fought fro all the regular time. The winning move had been made by Thomas Tuchel who knowing the ability of Kepa on penalties had him enter a minute before the end of extra time, in place of Mendy.
The magician won again.

For the new coach of Bayern, Julian Nagelsmann, the first matches haven't been positive: the Bavarians suffered defeats against Gladbach, Cologne and Napoli. And the absences of their best players, can't be an excuse.
Despite being under-prepared, in this debut match Nagelsmann should line up Davies, Kimmich, Goretzka, Sané, Muller, Gnabry and Lewandowski, the latter coming off a memorable season in which he broke all goal records. Hernandez, Tolisso and Pavard are definitely absent.
I think the safest bet here is both teams to score.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 12, 2021, 09:29:11 AM
After the big contract renewal with Kevin Durant (4 years, $198 million), the Brooklyn Nets are also working on contract extensions with James Harden and Kyrie Irving.
According to ESPN's Bobby Marks reports, James Harden can get a $161 million max salary contract over 3 years, from the 2023-2024 season.  While Kyrie Irving can also aim for a renewal at the maximum salary, $186.6 million over 4 years, but from the 2022-2023 season.
Last season, the Brooklyn Nets made it all the way to the Conference Semifinals in the Playoffs, eliminated by the champion Milwaukee Bucks.  The team has had to deal all season with injuries (Durant, Harden and Irving).  The true potential of the Nets has so far remained hidden, but with an improved supporting cast, and superstars ready to embrace the cause in the long run, they are a strong candidate to win the next NBA title.

It's fake, but still has a lot of truth.  Grin Grin Grin Remember DAO and the hack in 2016! Back then it caused a crash in the market. Not this time! The bull is strong! Regarding the decentralized part in eth, defi or any other crypto project: devs rolled back the blockchain of eth without the full miners consent, which gave birth to etc; year after year they made HF after HF without asking the users or the miners. The last one burns the extra fees which used to go to the miners. And soon they will switch to POS which will benefit mostly the devs holding 70%+ of premined eth. The same more or less is valid for any defi "project". It should be called Cefi, not Defi! The only good thing about eth existence is that it allows mining bitcoins with gpus. These are more user friendly and attracted millions which otherwise wouldn't invest directly in Bitcoin. The conviction to became a Bitcoin hodler grew up simultaneously as I was making a good profit by mining. And for many of the miners eth is just an intermediary to bitcoin, nothing more. I don't care about its future and I won't hold or stake anything! And I don't care about missed future profits by selling everything that I mined so far. At the moment it switches to POS, it is a dead project to me. I'm 100% sure that if a project loses completely it's decentralization part, it will die in a matter of months or several years tops.

Yeah that pretty much exactly what I think of Eth.

Mr V would need to personally send me two coins . (Long complex story)

Then resign and appoint  a multi person development team.  Along with changing the algorithm  to progpow. Promising to run Pow until 2030.

At that point it would be a shit coin rather than the money trap it is.

@ biodom pos is simply a junk bond concept wrapped in a corporation that is nonexistent.

But I am mining ⛏ Eth and cashing it to btc daily.

After the London HF you'll have to find another chain because as soon as (!!!) they switch to POS you'll be out of business. Grin Grin Grin
I know you're prepared.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: August 11, 2021, 09:54:36 AM
The popularity of online casinos today's probably linked to our lifestyle. With the proliferation of technological tools such as tablets, laptops and smartphones, the need for leisure, relaxation and entertainment has increased exponentially.
Much is due to the fact that one can easily choose an online casino, taking into consideration, the popularity of the brand, welcome bonuses and promotions offered. The most important aspect, however, are the games offered, which differ from casino to casino depending on the manufacturer of the games, or the gaming software, adopted by the casino itself. Many of those in the crypto world are quite similar and their growing popularity is unstoppable.
I definitely don't see online gambling disappear anytime soon.

Neither England nor Spain, Erling Haaland's future could still be in Germany. Yesterday, Hasan Salihamdzic openly admitted that the young Norwegian forward is one of their targets.
The Bavarian club would be presenting a concrete offer to Borussia Dortmund, which so far has refused all the proposals arrived.  This offer should be around 80 million euros, a figure, however, almost certainly insufficient to convince Borussia to deprive themselves of the 21-year-old.
But Bayern could raise, since Haaland is considered the ideal heir of Lewandowski. What do you think?
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 11, 2021, 09:40:46 AM
Now we can say it, holidays are over, the Bundesliga starts again on Friday 13th. Nagelsmann's Bayern Munich will challenge Hutter's Borussia M'Gladbach during the opening game. The Bavarians were crowned champions of Germany last May, winning their ninth consecutive title. Now they will defend it from the attacks of Leipzig, Dortmund and all the others. But, if you ask me, Bayern Munich wants the tenth consecutive title, it's gonna be hard for the other teams to make it in the first place.

The best shots closed during the 2021 NBA market: let's take a look at what were the top signings in the free agency that started just a week ago.
Free agency 2021 hasn't closed yet as several players have to unveil their next destination. But the bulk of it is definitely behind us, with key veterans already settled on their next adventure.
Malik Monk, Los Angeles Lakers (1 year, $1.8 million)
Otto Porter Jr., Golden State Warriors (1 year, $2.4 million)
Blake Griffin, Brooklyn Nets (1 year, $2.6 million)
Bruce Brown, Brooklyn Nets (1 year, $4.7 million)
Cameron Payne, Phoenix Suns (3 years, $19 million)
Reggie Bullock, Dallas Mavericks (3 years, $30.5 million)
Lonzo Ball, Chicago Bulls (4 years, $85 million)

110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 10, 2021, 05:52:00 AM
The National Basket Association has opened an investigation to evaluate the possible violation of the so-called anti tampering rules during free agency. According to ESPN sources, the league's offices are looking into the sign and trade that brought Lonzo Ball to the Chicago Bulls and Kyle Lowry to the Miami Heat.
Sanctions against tampering were tightened only two years ago. In case of proven irregularity, fines up to 10M dollars are foreseen for the team, with possible charges against the guilty managers, possible subtraction of draft picks and invalidation of contracts.

Can you put more specifics regarding that rules, I can't follow what you are talking about, to be honest as I'm not aware of that rules. What do you mean by tampering? Who made the violation? the players, the managers, or the teams?

As far as I know, anti-tampering rule refers to team approaching players way before their contract expires with their respective teams. For instance Chicago might be talking to Lonzo Ball when he was still in contact with New Orleans before their actual sign and trade deal (I might be wrong with my interpretations though). And to add to add, the investigations might center on the player or the team itself.
cryptomaniac_xx explained that a bit.

As NBA fans we all got to know this rule as there have been plenty of strange cases around that.
I hope these two links will help.

I guess all I understand upon reading it fast is that there's no legal liability, so this trade will not be cancelled but they might just pay a monetary penalty in proven guilty.

This was the most interesting part from the article you shared.

No matter what happens, though, this much is clear: even those who want to stick to the rules will be compelled to walk the fine line considering that the benefits far outweigh the costs.
The French say C'est la vie.
I don't think we're naive enough to believe in a world made up only of rules that are followed, right?
It's a striking representation of the fact that, very often, the more money you have the more things you can afford to do or not do.
In this case, you consciously go against the rules knowing that the benefits far outweigh the costs.
Again, c'est la vie.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: August 10, 2021, 05:45:16 AM
Gambling at such a young age is not open to children it will push them into more destruction.
Indeed, gambling is not allowed to children who are still under -+18 years old, the rules are also written on every online gambling site.

Which is the most dangerous problem, at this time without the strict supervision of his parents, the child plunged into the world of online gaming/gambling, it happened without their parents realizing it, instead of playing ordinary games, in fact online gambling.

experience:
I once saw a child who was still in elementary school -+10 years old, my neighbor, materially his parents were rich/entrepreneurs, one day I sat drinking coffee with his parents, he told me, his son in this month is asking daily for $30, it used to be not like that, 3-4 days at most he is asking for $40 but this one month is weird, so i told his parents, have you checked your child's android phone, he said not yet, you checked first, it was true that his son was found in the room while betting on real online gambling.

Conclusion: minors, if there is no strict supervision, can lead to moral destruction in the world of gambling, online gambling sites cannot guarantee that adults over 18 years old register, 8 year olds can also enter, there are no personal documents when registering.
Problem is that not allowed doesn't mean it's not possible. Now with online gambling, given the enormous amount of time that children spend on their devices, it's almost not possible to not get exposed to some form of gambling. The same goes for the real world where slots with fancy colors attract young kids very easily. I remember when I was a kid there was that game in which you had to use a joystick to move a crane to win something. I think when I was 5 that has been my first gambling experience given I spent all my money on it (5$).

There's another player leaving Barcelona.
Pjanic really wanted to wear the Juve jersey again and has accepted to cut his salary by 20% to go back to Italy. The Bosnian, who the other night was among the most criticized by Barça supporters, is ready to return to Turin on a one-year loan, extendable for a second year.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: August 10, 2021, 05:34:37 AM
Hold the tried and true: Bitcoin and Ethereum

I would add a few more - Cardano, Litecoin, Binance Coin, Litecoin and Polkadot. Ideally you can hold any established coin that is protected form inflation by the principle of controlled supply (this will not be applicable to those without such an algorithm, such as Dogecoin and USDT). And now coming to the new projects, the decision needs to be taken on a case by case basis. Most of the new projects have failed. But that doesn't mean that one of the future projects may end up like Chainlink or Polkadot.
IMHO the only one worth holding there is Bitcoin. With the other coins around you can play, trade, swap, stake, do what you like but the only one worth holding is bitcoin.
I don't buy into the deflationary facade of the new ETH 2.0: ether fuel apps and therefore they need to be used while bitcoin's a completely different league.
But you're free to hold the worst shitcoins out there, your choice.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments prohibit developers from creating a new coin? on: August 09, 2021, 10:09:26 AM
Open source code can't be stopped.
Open source code that runs on a global decentralized peer-to-peer network can't be stopped.
What are all the worries?
Bitcoin's out there since many years now and prove that a global decentralized network can survive even the worst attacks.
Of course, the network needs to reach mass adoption to survive.
For a new coin today that's the hardest part, to reach a great number of users wanting to power and preserve the network.
But the code's there for everyone to make use of it.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 09, 2021, 10:05:24 AM
I'm concerned that Messi's move from Barcelona will affect La Liga in no small way. Messi brings a lot of value to La Liga.
The era of Messi and Ronaldo has to end and Ronaldo leave years ago have big effects on La Liga. Messi leave will have similar positive effects but La Liga has hundred of years in history and it will not be damaged so much. The effects won't last long. The career of Messi and Ronaldo won't last for many more seasons.

La Liga will be fine so will Barcelona

Quote
Imagine Barcelona without a Messi? On the other hand, I strongly believe that Barca just wants to groom youngsters,  Frenkie de Jong or Pedri instead of having to renew his contract. Well I hope Messi is able to do in PSG and  the french league what he has done in Barca (as he is such a transformational player, I who  drove  the club's prestige way further in his 20years stay) and the Spanish league.
They will have to adapt to this and the latest friendly match, they won against Juventus, 3 - 0 is not a bad result. Consider it as a new era, sooner than expected but it is good for Barcelona because they will never depend on Messi. Young players will be given more opportunities to grow and they will grow faster without Messi. At least Messi helped them in the past 2 seasons, and it is good preparation for them for seasons without Messi. Their era has been started since this summer.
Not a bad result at all. Juventus didn't look like the Juve we know: there was a huge mismatch between Barça's readiness and that of bianconeri. Allegri doesn't have have clear ideas too: he put Danilo in midfield and left an unwatchable Bernardeschi play the whole game.
On the other side, apart from Messi's ghost, I saw a great Barça which is ready even without his former champion.

I read that Edin Dzeko could be Lukaku's replacement. Inter reached an agreement with the player (two-year, six million euro per season) and aim to close the deal by Wednesday, in order to give Inzaghi a striker for the season.
Nerazzurri are only waiting for Roma's okay while the romans also search for a replacement.

120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: August 08, 2021, 09:28:25 AM
I'm trying a classic in preparation of the next betting season: the fixed bet strategy which refers to betting the same percentage of your bankroll each time.
For example, if you have an initial bankroll of $1,000 and you decide to use this strategy, you will first need to determine the percentage to play. Let's say you decide to use 5%. So, your first bet will be $50, while your second bet will be 5% of the updated bankroll, after the result of the first bet (depending on whether you lost or won).
Basically, by betting on such a small percentage, you will ensure that you can lose many times and still have money for future bets.
The main disadvantage of this strategy, however, is related to the possibility of winning high amounts.
That is, the strategy doesn't care about odds, probabilities and possible gains; it only focuses on the amount of the bankroll. Therefore, in some cases, it might prevent you from winning more, just as it can limit your losses.
