After the medical examinations and the signatures on the contract yesterday, Alessandro Florenzi has been made official as a new Milan player. The former Roma full-back arrives on a €1 million loan with a buy-back right set at €4.5 million. Pioli will have at his disposal a versatile and important player for the team, able to play both as a right side in place of Calabria but also as a higher external midfield or attack, in place of Saelemaekers.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 21, 2021, 09:24:07 AM
NBA market update - Two teams are currently battling for a possible acquisition of Paul Millsap. I'm talking about Brooklyn and Golden State. The two teams would have expressed their interest in the 36-year-old. However, it seems to be a complicated operation for both of them. The Nets have 16 players on their roster at the moment and they already have Blake Griffin and James Johnson - or even KD - in that specific role. As for the Warriors, they have 13 players with guaranteed contracts. Nemanja Bjelica landed in the "Bay" this summer, but Millsap could add some skill to the bench.

63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria to launch its crypto currency after crypto ban on: August 21, 2021, 09:19:31 AM
First, it won't be a crypto in the sense that there'll be no mining. No state would ever dream of launching such a currency.
Secondly, it's just an attempt to try to block the advance of bitcoin.
There certainly seems to be a marked increase in bitcoin and cryptocurrency adoption going on in Nigeria: the country has risen to second place overall in the world in terms of volumes of BTC traded.
According to Chainalysis data, the volume of bitcoin received by Nigerians in May totalled $2.4 billion, compared to less than $0.7 in December 2020. There has been more than 200% growth in five months.
This increase is also noted by analysis of combined exchanges on P2P platforms LocalBitcoins and Paxful.
So, forget about e-naira and focus on BTC.

Everything's the important word here!
This is changing literally everything and anything. I'm not an expert on LN myself, I know I should be, but for the sake of what I need I prefer a custodial approach to LN.
Like those examples you mentioned that's what we need.
We only need more and more people to rely on it to see this revolution unfolding right before our eyes.
It's about time for the many, but for a few visionaries, this is changing everything.
65  Economy / Economics / Re: ETC Group to launch bitcoin ETP on Deutsche Boerse on: August 21, 2021, 09:08:24 AM
The initiative will bring Europe's first regulated marketplace for Bitcoin-related financial derivatives.
This setup will allow investors to monitor Bitcoin price movements in a fully regulated, centrally cleared environment based on the transparency of the underlying ETN price.
Crap basically Cheesy
Both ETFs and ETNs are designed to replicate an underlying asset.
When investing in an ETF, the fund holds the asset it tracks. That asset can be stocks, bonds, gold or other commodities or futures contracts while in contrast, an ETN is more like a bond, or an unsecured debt note issued by an institution.
ETNs have a significant advantage over ETFs in that they lack tracking error.
But, as I said, crap's always crap.

66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: August 21, 2021, 08:43:31 AM
I know, I know even my closest friends sometimes get to tell me I'm a pain in the ass on some things.
Looking at the market these days I can't complain but I never really can't complain. DCA works good (thanks to you too jjg).
I'll leave GBTC shares and profits to the institutionals, while I keep stacking sats in any possible way.
See ya around here guys.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: August 20, 2021, 01:29:42 PM
Batman slap would maybe help.
Like I said being nervous these days doesn't help.
I don't really care about these investment vehicles, they're just snake-oil in front of those who I 've called rich kidz.
I prefer the real deal, like all of you.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: August 19, 2021, 01:19:24 PM
That's a market that's not accesible for most of us. As usual the filthy riches can get these low hanging fruits as you call them but we can't nothing but peanuts.
I hope GBTC dies soon and never get converted in an ETF. They've to disappear, they've been nothing but a roadblock towards better investment vehicles.
Sorry, I'm a bit nervous these days.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to seek help if you need; concerned with gambling addiction. on: August 19, 2021, 01:15:59 PM
All this talk about finding help seems a little hypocritical in here if we think about it. Most of us, talk about gambling addiction and then have a crypto casino signature in place. So to quote the movie The Untouchables, Al Capone here on this thread would comment "You're nothing but a lot of talk and a badge".
I'm not saying we shouldn't remind everyone here around the dangers of gambling but still I don't see the point of the thread.

Some news from Cleveland. The Cavs would be very interested in signing Denzel Valentine. The former Bulls player, not renewed by Chicago at the end of his contract, is still looking for his next team. For now, no attractive offers have arrived for the player, who's certainly one of the best free agents still on the market. No team has officially stepped up, but Cleveland seems interested in striking a deal with Valentine.
Injuries aside, Denzel Valentine still remains a player with good potential. In 2017-18, before the left knee problem that forced him to surgery, he had in fact shot with almost 39% from three on 4.8 average attempts per game.
71  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is the new gold standard of the future on: August 19, 2021, 01:05:50 PM
Apart from becoming a new monetary standard in the not so distant future, Bitcoin use as a way to avoid state surveillance and easy handling of wealth should be already a sign of bitcoin victory over the current system.
Talking about gold, without realizing the true potential of bitcoin to replace everything that gold has done in the monetary system is a bit narrow-minded to me.
I don't know about state surveillance but they seem to be pretty good with invasion in privacy so if you are using a computer that is connected to the Internet that's controlled or monitored closely by the state, I think that there's not going to be any difference since they will still see your online activities and there's public ledger that they can use to trace who owns those bitcoins that they're looking for. Unless there's a fix for volatility, bitcoin will never be considered like gold standard and gold standard is an obsolete system that was take over by Bretton Woods and even that is already obsolete.
Talk for yourself. There are many ways to keep our privacy online. Of course, I'm not gonna tell you what's my opsec setting but trust me I'm very aware about what you said and I do all that's necessary to keep my privacy as high as possible.
Also using btc anonymously with some strict coin control features I help.
I don't need much fiat money, anything else can be done via btc.

Napoli's first purchase of the 2021is  Juan Jesus. The former Roma player underwent medical examinations yesterday and today he'll sign the contract that will bind him to Napoli for the next ten months.
This is the announcement from Napoli: "SSC Napoli announces that it has acquired the sports performance of the player Juan Jesus for the 2021/2022 football season with an option for the following 2022/2023 football season".
Only one purchase and no major returns don't make Napoli very competitive for next season.

Los Angeles Lakers are looking for players to improve their roster, with the priority set to find a point guard: the Lakers are evaluating Isaiah Thomas, Darren Collison and Mike James. Signing these three players is not imminent, but the Lakers intend to deepen their contacts with the athletes and their entourage.
The Lakers have 12 players with a guaranteed contract and they want to sign two more players, leaving an open spot for next season: Thomas trained with LeBron James and Russell Westbrook on Tuesday and, moreover, he has already worn the Lakers' jersey. Despite his lack of continuity in these last seasons, Thomas could be the right profile for the Californians.
75  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 17, 2021, 08:34:54 AM
<snip>

No, they did not require KYC before. However, since April of this year, many users have begun noticing the pop-up asking for identity verification (KYC Level 1). The discussion began on page 116 of this thread. I’m not sure if there was any official announcement about it.

I see, but did they require their users that has lots of balance on their wallet? As far as I remember, there are some casinos that only requires users that reached/had an specific balance on their casino wallet. Other users that didn't meet the balance, aren't required to undergo in their KYC. I wonder if Roobet also is doing the same thing as what those other casinos are doing in terms of KYC implementation.

When an online casino are still in it's early stages, they fly under the radar ..because they do not have a lot of users. They also use the "No KYC Requirement" as a marketing strategy to get more gamblers to sign up. The problem is, once they grow bigger.. they cannot fly under the radar anymore, so they gradually encourage users to "verify" their accounts... to become a legitimate casino. (They still have a license, but the regulators are more strict with the bigger operators)

Some of the other casinos offer extra bonuses and rewards for people who are verified, but they still allow for people to stay private. (Legitimate High rollers that wants to stay private to protect their families and friends, because people with a lot of money are juicy targets for criminals)  Wink
One thing is the marketing strategy and one thing is reality, since you’ll have to verify your email before you make a withdrawal and we now know that you may have to provide documentation that verifies your identity before being able to cash out.
They have a quite detailed AML policy right there on their site, just go and check it.

I believe nobody's read The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous here.
The book analyzes the historical context of BTC's emergence, the economic properties that allowed it to grow rapidly, and its possible economic, political, and social implications.

Ammous takes the reader through a fascinating journey along the history of technologies that have held monetary functions, the reasons for their adoption and subsequent loss of their monetary role, helping to understand what can really be a healthy form of money that can steer society towards peaceful modes of cooperation, with positive effects on capital accumulation, economic growth, and the stimulation of cultural and artistic creativity. Saifedean shows us that the highest peaks reached by mankind have been possible precisely in those societies with sound monetary regimes, while every monetary collapse has inevitably caused a social collapse as well.

With a perfectly predictable monetary policy that makes it an excellent store of value, functioning through decentralized software that creates a chain of immutable transactions, BTC allows users to transfer value in minutes across the globe without having to rely on central authorities. BTC's a form of digital gold with a built-in payment and transaction settlement system.

Do yourself a favor, buy and read the book

77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 17, 2021, 07:56:49 AM
Real Madrid Isco's future is still uncertain: according to some Spanish press sources the Blancos are reflecting on the possibility of selling the midfielder this summer.
In recent days, the player has also come under the lens of Milan, looking for someone to substitute Hakan Calhanoglu.
Isco should be sold today, given also the fact that the contract expiring in 2022 would see him leave at zero, with consequent damage to the finances of Real.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 17, 2021, 07:46:42 AM
So the news was: Ancellotti asked the CR7 comeback Wink

It will happen? probably not since is already late.
Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Juve isn't certain anymore. Because the Messi deal has ignited the market and can move pawns of the highest level: CR7 included.
Now the fate of Mbappé and that of CR7 are very close together. If Mbappé leaves I suspect CR7's destined to go to PSG while Kylian will go to Madrid.
Considering the salaries involved these are the two teams available for it.

Marcus Smart has found an economic agreement with the Boston Celtics to continue his adventure in Massachusetts. The guard has signed a four-year extension worth $77.1 million in total, a contract fully guaranteed for its entire duration.
He'll stay in Boston along with stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to try to bring the Celtics back to the top of the Eastern Conference. IMO, his defensive approach and grit shown in NBA have made him one of the favorite players of Celtics fans who'll be happy to see him in green until 2026.
