After a super big lose of 94% i moved my coins from poloniex to cryptopia. My question is If someone leave DNotes on exchange will they be swapped automatically or what?

That depends on each individual exchange and what their policies are. You can always open a free account at the DNotesVault and move your coins there. Or download the DNotes wallet. Those will be swapped automatically.

I would recommend against leaving coins on any exchange long term if you aren't actively trading them.

Thanks TwoCorn, that is excellent advice!

Hi ZurbCash, welcome to the DNotes forum. We do intend to reach out to the exchanges to participate in the swap, but ultimately it will be up to each exchange. The DNotesVault will be automatically swapped upon release of DNotes 2.0.

Hi, @DNotes @Dyna. Great thanks for answering my newbie questions.

I see the the coin launched on 2014, the actual dev starts from April 2017. During 2014 and 2017 what DNotes focused is marketing.

I think it will be great to add some new technical improvement, for example: consensus protocol, lightening network, private sending and so on.

For me, I was a developer, making development thoughts and basic report are not complicated, actually quite simple and fun. Cause it's sharing the new ideas and progresses to everyone. I even write some to myself helping me organize the coding design.

If the developer could push the work to Github I'm sure this will gain a lot faith to DNotes holders.

Why not coding in the open source way? So that ppl can also contribute ideas, even code to DNotes2.0. Although I'm not a blockchain developer, but maybe someone in the community is good at this. For example the development of Linux and Bitcoin.

Since DNotes Global is not a none profit foundation, what the business plan to attract and convince investors to invest in the company?

No problem kopes18.

To see the projects we have been working on since 2014, please see our roadmap here: http://dnotescoin.com/dnotes-roadmap/
Quote from Alan above "For the first three years, we focused in developing our ecosystems, i.e. – CryptoMoms, DNotesVault, Family of CRISPs, DCEBrief and my book. We waited for the technology to mature and only started working on software development [of DNotes 2.0] on April 1, 2017."

Also see 2017 in the roadmap for our list of carefully planned technical improvements for DNotes 2.0.

As far as open source / github, please see my response above here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924858.msg24964592#msg24964592
Our GitHub is absolutely open for anyone to contribute, but once the base code of DNotes 2.0 is completed we can more actively promote contributions along with bounties. There is the possibility some of the code will be radically different, so it doesn't make sense for us to promote it until DNotes 2.0 is ready.

DNotes Global Inc. is a for-profit company, for more information on this please see the DNotes story here: http://dnotescoin.com/the-dnotes-story-an-unfolding-big-bold-idea-of-global-scale/

Hi, Dear DNotes Community, thanks for your reply I got much info about the current project situation. I fast skimmed a lot posts in this forum and read the news of DNotes on the website. Still have some questions.

1. DNote Global Inc, the company, is it already registered? If so can anyone provide the legal paper, anywhere can I validate this?

2. If DNote Global want to run a currency like business in the US. It will have legal problem in the future for sure if DNote do popular and has a lot users. Maybe consider moving the company to other countries.

3. I do read some news and posts, but really can't see any technical updates. That's my biggest concern. Can we have a details developers list? Can we also post tech development improvement in the blog with code and thoughts so we can follow at the technical view?
I found this github repo https://github.com/DNotesCoin/DNotes-2.0
Cause I was a developer, but never develop crypto currency, so I checked the commits. There seems no actual development, all the changes look like change some configuration and add some front end. It doesn't look like working on a newly upgrade,  but I'm familiar with crypto code so I could be wrong.
Two people has contributed to the code, not active.

4. About Regulation A+, crypto currency and blockchain actually is very hot in China now, you may already know some good projects like NEO and Qtum. For what I know VC only interest in projects having improved blockchain technology, but will almost not invest in a crypto which is common in the market, because DNotes for what I know is based on CryptoNote and many features are already exits in many projects and many of them are very successful. Most projects are open sourced, copying the code, do some minor change then create a new coin is very easy. For this part I think it's very very difficult for DNotes to get a VC investment.
If we can't get this investment, what's the future of DNotes and how to get development done?

5. From a technique view, including the 2.0 upgrade, what's the competitive advantage? For example Zerocoin and Zcash, people can clearly see the different implementation they made to achieve the transaction privacy. Bitsend(BSD) is fork of Dash, but BSD still do something differently, it has a higher version of Bitcoin Core. BitBean has a faster transaction and so on. I think people do value this very much. Can developers also provide this?

Sorry for asking so many questions, English is not my first language. I do like DNotes community, very kind and patience. Thanks!

Hi kopes18, Alan will answer a few of these questions as well.

3 - We have taken the approach that it is better to have a sole core developer for the base of DNotes 2.0. He will be able to make the code more cohesive and unified using this approach, opposed to having multiple people working in different directions and then have to get all the different code to talk to each other. Once DNotes 2.0 is completed, he will know the DNotes 2.0 code inside and out, this will afford us a very knowledgeable resource to train others and continue our development. You can find him on our homepage, http://dnotescoin.com/, Ken Blanchard.

He has been able to sufficiently convince us that he can do the job, though it is taking longer than any of us expected. As a result we asked Ken to upload the code to github to show that we are actively working on the code, and ensure everyone knows we are making some progress. However, updates to the github do not reflect exactly what is actually happening behind the scenes. With a new code base there is much trial and error and directional changes.

As far as having development blog and updates, we do some of that here on the forum and have posted some on the DNotes blog. However, we don't want to spend a lot of time writing technical explanations for each segment as we go, just as we are here now, we don't want to have Ken spending more time talking about the code than actually coding. That would simply prolong the process, but I do understand and respect where you are coming from, and once we get done with the core code we can take a serious look in this direction.

5 - This reminds me of a recent conversation with a local development firm we are considering. After spending a good deal of time explaining the entire scope of DNotes and where we are headed, the director had mentioned "Now the proposed changes are making sense" or something along those lines. I do understand what you are saying, when you have a big technical challenge and addressing a specific problem that is easy for people to understand, it is much easier to communicate the scope of your project and realize the impact of solving that problem. The competitive advantages for DNotes are that we are building a cryptocurrency that is meant to meet the full functions of money, where everyone at any level can participate, coupled with our shared stake concept. Once we are better positioned in DNotes 2.0, we can actually target and draw some attention to specific projects we have in mind to solve specific problems.

One such problem we are solving by moving to DNotes 2.0 is the mining problem and the impact it has on our market. DNotes is currently releasing around 1,000,000 DNotes to miners each month with significant reasons to take those coins directly to the exchange and sell them, causing a massive drain on the market in what I would consider our infancy stage.

As far as just taking another cryptocurrency and making some changes. I agree with you, that would be fairly easy and there are plenty of developers who can do that. However, that is not really what we are looking to do with DNotes 2.0. It may be a good starting point or last resort, but we would rather stick to our strategy.

I am ready to see price going Up  Today  . It will be like xmg . A lot of X.... can do now . Time to hodl and buy dip dnote.

Welcome lxxtikk, to the DNotes forum and appreciate the support! We are working hard to bring value to DNotes everyday with a long term view in mind. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to post them, we are a welcoming and helpful community.
can you tell me what we can expect next year from dnotes . For example next 5 steps or 10 .

1:  Swap 1:1
2: Smart contracts
3
4
5
6
7
8
9
10

The main goals here are (not all are in specific order):

Completion of DNotes 2.0
Code review and live testing
1:1 Swap for DNotes 2.0
Upgrade DNotesVault, new features, design, and implement changes required for DNotes 2.0
Recruit and Expand Development Team

Along with some minor things that will be needed along the way. From this point we will continue to build on DNotes technology and work to accelerate the development program. There are a number of other initiatives we will be working on that Alan has mentioned including seeking funding and exchange.

Can we see later Masternodes ?   because now i think will be best time to buy some Dnotes for masternodes .

Our focus right now is to ensure that everyone is able to participate in our programs and rewarded on a equal playing ground as much as possible. However, we do plan to have additions to the capability of the network, which would likely require a technology such as a master node. As we progress towards those goals, we will absolutely consider master nodes technology, but I cannot say at this time as we take it very seriously and want to ensure our upgrades are out of necessity and a need for the functionality. I cannot provide a direct answer to your question and I do not want to lead you down the wrong path in the event we don't adopt a master node like system.

DNotes 2.0 is a new blockchain with new features, that copies the ownership record of coins from the existing 1.0 chain.

So if you have 5000 DNotes on 1.0 you can swap them automatically for 5000 DNotes 2.0 coins at our DNotes vault - www.dnotesvault.com. Alternatively we are planning other means of swapping coins from other wallets, where users can send us their old ones in exchange for the newer 2.0 coins. Everyone will have the same number of coins on the 2.0 chain as they had on the current blockchain.

After 2.0 is launches, DNotes 2.0 will be "DNotes", and 1.0 won't be around anymore. We will honour swaps of old coins into 2.0 coins well into the future through the DNotesVault.

We currently prefer not to do an ico because of the questionable regulatory environment surround them, and they attract a lot of the wrong kind of investors who just want to flip it after a few days. Our strategies are for the interests the  long term project, and not for traders making a quick buck by dumping the moment Cound list on an exchange.

This is not a new project, but the same one with a new blockchain. ICOs are much better for making money for developers with other people's money. DNotes' founders have spent a lot of their own money on the project so far, and no free coins are created and given to the team when DNotes 2.0 launches. We will be releasing a business plan / white paper (I have written the first draft -  5500 words, and am editing it) which will have more information on our ecosystem, and block reward structure etc. I don't want to set a date for official release at this time. But it has been written, and will potentially require some graphics etc. We may want to add or modify sections, so releasing a copy sooner and then updating it could be an idea we can consider.

Written on my phone. Hopefully no errors.

Thanks TeeGee! I really like this fair distribution. Decentralized and let the community to grow value, investors with faith. It reminds me the early days of crypto, even 1% pre-mined is evil. Now it’s a lot different.

What the meaning of Dnotes name?

Thanks Tim!

DNotes was derived from the words digital and notes, as the intention to mean a digital version of a note representing value and accepted as money. Originally notes were used to represent value and made to be easy to carry around in denominations that were usable. Notes were backed by items of value, such as previous metals and coins, then by banks and governments and given terms like banknotes, DNotes are backed by the technology and our shared stake vision.

During the initial swap, we will select a block for the cut off and create the same amount of DNotes as in circulation for that block. For instance, if there are 130,000,000 DNotes in circulation at the defined block, then the genesis block for DNotes 2.0 will be 130,000,000, created for the purposes of the 1 for 1 swap. In DNotes 2.0 we intend to have CRISP distribution up to 6% annual, staking reward with a target of 2% annual, and a development among other DNotes requirements fund distribution targeting 0.6% range annual.

Yesbitcin cn coquerpaypal. In bitcoin, payment is permanent and thus retailers would like it.Transaction fees can also be lower in bitcoins.Transaction time taken is much more and it needs to be resolved.User base of bitcoin is reduced compared to paypal and so consumer amount of bitcoin needs to be increased. Most of my friends have now use bitcoin repayment departing paypal.,aon

Welcome sprikies to the DNotes forum. Cryptocurrency certainly has advantages over payment systems like PayPal, such as micro-payments and the ability to have little to no fee and requires no intermediary to send a transaction anywhere in the world.

All these situations are showing that Bitcoin is going to well-liked very speadly owever I think popularity of Bitcoin in porno industries will give bad effect for the future of Bitcoin . Because I believe the participation of Bitcoin in porn like things will make Bitcoin as bad issues , So it might be feasible some countries may ban Bitcoin in their own individual nation .So we ought to use Bitcoin only for legit income and excellent work .Since this is our responsibility as an Bitcoiner to make Bitcoin like a reliable , obvious and from poor things .H

Something tells me you might be in the wrong forum.  None the less, trying to decipher your message, I would say 99.99% of people aren't in the porn industry, nor care.  In general, I suppose you could wrap this in with drugs, laundering, ransoms etc that the banksters would like people to believe is the only reason for bitcoin.  With better information now available, in part to DCE Brief, that notion is close to being gone.

To me, "porno" is not this industries problem, it's all the scam coins/scam "clubs" coming online.  I love this technology, and am always researching new ideas, platforms, etc., but these get rich quick schemes/forks/ICO's are getting out of control.  I have a feeling, sometime soon, this could be the catalyst that actually gets governments involved...unfortunately.

For these reasons and more, is why I believe in the Dnotes team and ecosystem.  The activity from the team in this forum alone, is better than any other project I've seen.  Integrity, professionalism, and a legit business model, will win out in the end.  Probably sooner than later, as more investment grade money enters this arena.  I know last week was rough, but now more than ever, I believe Dnotes is on the right track.  Thanks to the whole team who took time to answer some questions, and to share a little more detail about the funding aspect today.

Thanks Dan. We have always advocated fair and reasonable rules and regulations in order to help this industry grow without being overly restrictive and burdensome. Thanks for the comments and confidence!

Welcome to the DNotes thread JuIiusSeizure. I would hope as well that countries would not ban bitcoin or cryptocurrency based on bad actors or it's potential use in the nefarious, as I'm sure regardless of the medium used there will always be bad actors. Ultimately, cryptocurrency leaves a trail that could be followed.

This is a small step, but a positive one towards cleaning up some of the deception in many of the ICOs:

Celebrities under SEC's radar for endorsing cryptocurrency products - https://www.techspot.com/news/71718-celebrities-under-sec-radar-endorsing-cryptocurrency-products.html

It would appear that the SEC is keeping an eye on ICO's, which is much needed at this point. Reckless negligence is rampant in our industry; it harms investors and it harms legitimate players. SEC Chief Jay Clayton has said, “I have yet to see an ICO that doesn’t have a sufficient number of hallmarks of a security.” Which would make it necessary for these offerings to register with the SEC, prior to fundraising in the US. Another question I have is, would offerings conducted in another country, but accepting money from domestic investors, be required to register with the SEC as well?

The SEC ruling on ICO's this summer stated that anyone that sells securities (the majority of ICOs seem to fit the criteria) in the U.S., has to follow federal security laws. This would mean registration with the SEC, as well as following any other laws that securities are subject to.

I don’t like to play lawyer since I am not one. However, funding is a vital component of DNotes Global, Inc. but something I seldom discuss. You guess it – not until the time is right. But there is an obvious reason why DNotes Global, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Delaware earlier this year. (April 1, 2017) It is a strategic positioning to provide established records, including audited statements if necessary. At this point, I have provided 100% of the funding and legally control 100% of the ownership until such time when our legal team are certain of the best structure to transfer the 25% ownership to DNotes stakeholders – mostly likely to a foundation.

So here is my take on ICOs. I fear that the clear majority of ICOs are not just “tokens” but securities when come under close examination.  There are extreme risks and potential liabilities if not carefully navigated under the most able legal guidance. Consequently, I have turned down every request to serve as adviser.

Doing things right is always more difficult, takes longer, and cost more but better over the long-term. That is always the DNotes preference. In our case the price has been high, and at times frustrating. But surviving the test of time will pay off when the dust settled. I trust that, one day, more people will respect and appreciate the path we have chosen.

Among others, there are three funding options on our radar:

1.   ICO

Join the party. Using our new DNote 2.0, create a “token” to raise funds for a given project or all the projects. For reasons discussed and more – we are not likely to go down this route. In the United States, as in most countries, it is illegal to sell securities that are not registered or exempt.

2.   Use Regulation A+ Mini-IPO of Title IV Tier II of the JOBS Act

I believe that this is the most viable funding option for DNotes Global, Inc. Reg A+, Title IV, Tier II allows a private growth-stage company like DNotes Global, Inc. to raise up to $50 million from American and foreign investors.

Like an IPO DNotes Global can offer shares to the public; domestic and foreign, and not just accredited investors. However, we will have to submit a filing with audited statements with the SEC and be granted approval before launching a mini-IPO. The complexities, cost, time, and reporting requirements will be significantly less burdensome than a traditional IPO. With the resources, I believe that from the time we make a commitment it can be done in six months.

3.   A concurrent Reg. D & Reg S Initial Coin Offering

Reg D is a United States Federal program created under the Securities Act of 1933, and adopted in 1982. It involves a private placement memorandum designed to provide an exemption for companies to sell securities under certain rules to accredited investors without registration of the securities.

Regulation D consists of 9 Rules with 3 “Basic” exemption Rules. Reg D Rule 506(c) exempts offerings that are sold to investors who have been verified as accredited investors. Reg S exempts offerings made to non-US residents. They both allow for general solicitation and advertising essentially to ICOs marketed globally. With professional guidance done correctly, Reg S ICO launched side-by-side with Reg D is a viable option, especially for our clients in the future.

I don’t mean to bore you, but this is relevant to our road-map and the book. NextGenVC is one of our strategic building blocks to involve the corporate world. We are committed to assisting entrepreneurs to improve their chances of business success. Coupled with adequate funding it is also important to take full advantage of our emerging technologies - digital currency, blockchain technologies, and decentralized global payment systems. It is all part of the ecosystems we are building to gain mass acceptance. I know that it is not always easy to see the big picture and connect all the dots.

Meanwhile, we are looking forward to our participation at the World Funding Summit in LA this Friday and Saturday. We will be checking in  when we have a chance and deeply appreciate your support of this forum in our absence.

Well said. Nice explanation. I like 2 a lot. I have always hated the accredited investing rule. No, I'm not rich. But yes, I am astute enough to understand the risks I take. So why can't I?

For example, I was desperate to invest into Facebook a year or two before it went public. It was worth $10b at the time, with shares trading on SecondMarket at about a $15b valuation. Pretty steep markup to get in. But I wanted in bad. Only, I'm not accredited. My Dad is, and so I wrote up a 4 page investment thesis. He didn't do so. And obviously there was nothing I could do with the little capital I had at the time. Facebook is like 30x-40x those market cap levels now. And I missed only because I'm not already rich.

This is a huge reason I love crypto so much. It's going to disrupt so much of our world, just like social platforms and cell phones did before it. But this time, nobody except for myself gets to determine what I do. I set my own risk params, and the government can't tell me what to do because I'm not already rich.

Glad to see this ethic possibly extending out to the underlying corporate entities, and not just to tokens themselves.

Certainly understand the frustration in that situation MiningHabit and it is unfortunate that you were unable to invest. You could have gone to the casino, or bought lottery tickets with whatever money you had planned to invest and that would have been perfectly legal. I don't believe the amount of money you make should dictate your ability to invest.
