Release Notes

DNotes 2.0 Pre-Release Alpha
This pre-release is an open alpha for individuals to test out features of the upcoming DNotes 2.0 release. This network and all associated address balances will be wiped before the final DNotes 2.0 production release. The dnotes-qt.exe executable available with this pre-release should work on most modern Windows operating systems.

New Features for DNotes 2.0
Switch from Proof Of Work to Proof Of Stake with ~2% annual staking reward.
Updated transaction fees to be destroyed.
Added display of DNotes and Wallet value in USD (based on coinmarketcap's API).
Added DNotes news feeds.
Added invoice number support for sending NOTE to an address. The format to specify an invoice number when sending to an address is (address)+(invoice number).
Added CRISP payouts for keeping NOTE Balance in the same address for a period of time. For the alpha release network, the payouts happen approximately every day. The first payout block is 1500 and additional payouts happen every 1440 blocks. The final production release will payout approximately every month instead.

Post your DNotes 2.0 pre-alpha address here or send an email to contact@dnotescoin.com, and we will send you some coins.

Regression Testing
For those of you that are familiar with running console commands, if you would like to participate in regression testing, please use this form:
https://goo.gl/forms/uBpPxgmPs2tWetBG3

Invoice Number
This is the first step in the implementation of the automated invoicing system, allowing you to add an invoice number to a transaction.
You may attach an invoice number after the address by adding a plus sign after the address, followed by the invoice number.

Example:
Address = ScsZXeo2PeLzNPVcjHdtkjQX5zY6phjTEm
Invoice Number = 1kH98asd9Hb3U8aksdnJNgs7923nasdj
Send Payment to = ScsZXeo2PeLzNPVcjHdtkjQX5zY6phjTEm+1kH98asd9Hb3U8aksdnJNgs7923nasdj
The client will recognize the difference between the address and invoice number and store them on the blockchain accordingly.

Scenario you can test:
Send a payment to an address with a random invoice number attached as the example above outlines.
Verify in your transactions that the invoice number was attached.
You should also be able to verify this independently from any node by getting the transaction id, going to the console (help > debug window > console), and typing gettransaction <transaction id>

Example:
Address = ScsZXeo2PeLzNPVcjHdtkjQX5zY6phjTEm
Invoice Number = 1kH98asd9Hb3U8aksdnJNgs7923nasdj
Transaction id = 2e56d470d068a89d51bf20f83c25622d7d5dc16f9a0b7763d3e6940733d4d791-000
gettransaction 2e56d470d068a89d51bf20f83c25622d7d5dc16f9a0b7763d3e6940733d4d791-000
Look for: "invoiceNumber" : "1kH98asd9Hb3U8aksdnJNgs7923nasdj"
And verify it matches your invoice number.

Note: Our block explorers will look for invoice numbers and have an API to call from invoice number. We may implement a RPC call for it as well. This will allow anyone to independently verify a address and invoice number from anywhere.

Staking
If you are familiar with the staking process, there are no significant changes.
1 minute block times.
Block reward is 2% of total coins in circulation, divide by the number of blocks in a year.
How much you actually earn will depend on how many coins people are currently staking.
Weighted against the network.

Block Reward Example:
Number of Coins = 130,000,000
2% of 130,000,000 = 2,600,000
Number of blocks in a year = 525,600
Block reward: 2,600,000 / 525,600 = 4.94672754...
The block reward will change every block.

Note: You will experience blocks that are staked and then later rejected.

How to stake:
Setup and staking video:
https://youtu.be/2w9r2LoXM6c
Open your wallet - Open dnotes-qt.exe
Encrypt your wallet - Settings > Encrypt Wallet > Enter password > Enter Password Again > Click ok > Click ok > wallet will close. Re-open wallet.
Make sure you have coins in your wallet and they are confirmed and mature.
Unlock your wallet - Settings > Unlock Wallet > Enter password > Click ok.
In the lower left the lock should be unlocked and the up arrow should be green. You will now be staking. You can hover your mouse over the lock and the up arrow to see the status.

CRISP
CRISP reward will be 0.5% every 1440 blocks (1 day for pre-release, but it will be 1 month for actual release). This will occur automatically.

Note:
All coins must remain in the same address for the entire period.
If you deposit at 1441, you will not receive CRISP reward at block 2880, your first CRISP reward would be block 4320.

Scenarios to test:
If you received CRISP reward with an online wallet.
If you received CRISP reward with an online and staking wallet.
If you received CRISP reward with an offline wallet.

I see that you put a lot of effort on social media this days, seems like a step in a right way, people should be aware of possibilities of DNotes and that version 2.0 is on the way and we should reach to as many people as possible Smiley I think if you would be listed on more exchanges now volume would also already be greater Smiley Just do not lose the momentum Smiley

I'm also wondering, do you have in plan also any businesses partnership in the near future?

Thanks Amadeus82, agreed one of our big campaigns shortly after the launch of DNotes 2.0 will be to work on getting listed in more exchanges.

Yes, these two links should give you a better idea of how we intend to utilize our offerings to grow our network and develop partnerships.

Great job on the DNotes Global inc website. What do you guys think about adding an Investor Relations page?

Here is a good example from JPMorgan Chase's website https://www.jpmorganchase.com/corporate/investor-relations/investor-relations.htm.

Great idea Brandon! I think that can be a fairly high priority item to add.

I found this article in Payment Week. There are a couple of things that need a bit of clarification, but it's nice to see the eyes of the world starting to watch DNotes!

The author uses the word interest instead of proof of stake rewards. Interest is a great way to explain the compounding effect to someone that is new to cryptocurrency, but it's not technically interest. Given the pathetic rates of interest from financial institutions, we forgive him in thinking the .05% is an annual rate. Wink

DNotes Launches Version 2.0, Cryptocurrency With Interest

We’ve seen a lot of different cryptocurrencies emerge over the years, ranging from the big names like bitcoin and Ethereum to the odd little offshoots like Dentacoin. From purpose-driven coins to outright scams, a wide range of options has emerged to populate this market. Now, one previous entry is getting a serious upgrade, as the folks behind DNotes dropped word to tell us about.

DNotes 2.0, as it’s known, just recently went into Alpha Pre-Release, and represents what the company behind it is calling “a significant upgrade of the original DNotes currency introduced in 2014.” Backed up by blockchain technology, DNotes 2.0 boasts a set of new features and capabilities. First among these is that DNotes will no longer use the “proof-of-work” concept, turning instead to “proof-of-stake” in a bid to keep mining operations from becoming centralized and previous stakeholders from having their influence reduced.

With the new system in place, current stakeholders will be able to use their wallets as nodes to support the overall DNotes network. With the staking system in place, the nodes’ payouts will be balanced according to current coin balances. Best of all, the currency will offer the Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan, which will offer interest of 0.5 percent every 30 days. That’s not much objectively, but given that Bank of America is offering a 12-month certificate of deposit at 0.08 percent, it’s comparatively attractive. Even its best CD rate is 0.8 percent, and that requires a 10-year CD to get.

For a cryptocurrency to offer an interest rate is an unusual development, but given that there are over 1,300 such offerings out there at last report, it’s not particularly surprising to see that some are resorting to unusual methods to draw in new users. People can only invest in so many crypto issues, after all, even when they’re inexpensive as so many are. You can still buy 1,000 dogecoin for $3.00, and it’s far from the only crypto that can be had dirt cheap.

A cryptocurrency with an interest plan may be a surprise, but it’s a safe bet that some others will follow suit before long. They’re going to have to do something to get people interested in a crowd full of competitors.

https://paymentweek.com/2018-3-21-dnotes-launches-version-2-0-cryptocurrency-interest/

"They’re going to have to do something to get people interested in a crowd full of competitors." - We already have that covered!  Smiley

Excellent find. He identified how unique CRISP is in our industry, everyone can benefit from a blockchain distributed CRISP reward, and that is what makes it an amazing feature.
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Alpha Pre-Release Available on: March 22, 2018, 01:59:26 AM
Its been a while since I came here to see what's going on. I'm glad to see the swap process is about to start, I'm also glad that I don't need to worry about doing the swap as I have all my Dnotes in my Dnotes vault. Once the swap is complete will the vault continue to earn like it has been or will we need to stake now in our own local wallet?

Hi vella85, good to see you again.

Once the swap is complete we will be moving all accounts like the CRISP retirement accounts, to regular accounts. Then all accounts at the DNotesVault will earn CRISP payments, 0.5% every 30 days.

We won't be launching DNotes 2.0 with deferred staking, but we plan to implement it soon. That will allow users at the DNotesVault to not only earn CRISP, but also participate in staking while their DNotes are in the DNotesVault.

Hello!

Thanks for the update! As I'm a long term holder I don't mind the CRISP 0.5% every 30 days for the DNotes I have in the DNotesVault. I can't believe its been almost 2 years already since I first started my DNotes vault as I started my journey claiming from faucets back then and buying DNotes and putting them into the Vault. Now I look forward to the next journey with DNotes!

Amazing! Appreciate your dedication to DNotes! That is part of what drives us, there are so many people who believe in what we are trying achieve and our goals for the benefit of everyone.

1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Alpha Pre-Release Available on: March 22, 2018, 01:30:00 AM
"One group that’s emerged from this conversation is Crypto Mom$, a U.S.-based online community founded in 2014, before the cryptocurrency boom. Their mission: “To increase women’s participation in cryptocurrency” by providing how-to guides, video tutorials and an online forum to discuss all things crypto — as well as general conversation topics like politics and pop culture.

A cursory look at its forum immediately distinguishes it from other cryptocurrency groups, which tend to focus on the minutiae of crypto trading and rants about the true meaning of libertarianism. On Crypto Mom$, however, the leading conversation is about maximizing the composition of cryptocurrency investment savings plans: specialist savings arrangements, consisting of DNotes, a currency which, according to its inventor Alan Yong, is “for everyone, irrespective of financial standing — from the poor to the super rich; from the unborn to the most senior. It must deliberately attempt to include and assist women to help close the gender gap.”

Cryptomoms also have become an emerging culture on YouTube and Facebook. Their accounts and groups tend to have smaller followings compared to larger crypto channels such as “Crypt0,” “Project Life Mastery” and “Ivan on Tech.” Not to mention, they’re a different kind of channel altogether. There’s an innocence to them; they’re shot on ordinary cell phones with grainy, shaky footage and are largely devoid of special effects, graphics or charts. All exchanges have been notified and we have recommended that they either delist DNotes for April first, and relist with the upgraded DNotes 2.0 once everything is ready, or actively participate in the swap process for their users. Once we get closer to the release, we will notify all of the pools and provide a recommended process for them as well.

Hi
Here my DNote 2.0 Wallet Test with  Windows 10 home

Region Settings (Language):    OK
Wallet Sync:            OK
Receive Coins:                   OK
Send Coins:            OK
Stacking:         Will I see tomorrow
Encrypt Wallet:                 OK
Adress Book:            OK
Backup Wallet :                 OK

The Default Wallet.dat will be save under C:\Users\.....\AppData\Roaming\DNotes2\wallet.dat.
It would be good if you could change the path manually in the GUI.
Or at the first start.
Also, a button for importing a backup would be useful.

Greetings from Germany

Thanks Mbaker0510! Great suggestions.

I'd appreciate if you can add them here as well.

Quite impressive! I am so very proud of the team that Alan and Joe has assembled. Humbled to be a part of it.

Example:
Address = ScsZXeo2PeLzNPVcjHdtkjQX5zY6phjTEm

Example:
Address = ScsZXeo2PeLzNPVcjHdtkjQX5zY6phjTEm

Guys how is the testing going? Everything running smoothly and by expectations?

Can't wait to see the whitepaper and more detailed plans for Dnotes 2.0 and of course also how the market will react Smiley But for significantly higher volume in trading I think that is still essential to get listed on more (better) exchanges. It is a shame that Poloniex delisted DNOTES some time ago.

I personally would love to see DNotes on BitTrex. BitTrex is kind of becoming the top exchange--at least in the US. Polo was having some weird issues a while back (nothing to do with delisting DNotes) and that kind of turned me off to using them as much as I had before.

Agreed, Bittrex would be a good one. We are working on increasing social media, which is one of the metrics they look at.

The testing is going great, a few bugs to work through, a few improvements, but no major issues.
