281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock investing in altcoins- Take your guess which ones? on: June 27, 2015, 12:17:04 AM
Probably the few legit ones like NXT.

Yeah someone who runs a professional multinational  is going to buy a bunch of coins from two anonymous Eastern European Gopnik Bros, who put backdoors in the code (see bitcoin developer Jeff Garzik on NxT).  Also all the numerous thefts and ponzis that occur in the NXT ecosystem.   Overstock may as well be buying bridges in Somalia.

Last thing Overstock is going to do is buy scam shit like NxT, Aurora and PayCoin.

Quote
Now, in a new interview with CoinDesk, CEO Patrick Byrne has opened up about how Overstock may be seeking to further develop its plans for promoting decentralisation in the global financial market.

The Utah-based e-commerce giant launched a new open-source wiki page on its website on 29th July. Entitled 'How to issue a cryptosecurity', the page provides a broad overview of the topic, and lists the pros and cons of the various major players in the marketplace including Counterparty, Ethereum and NXT. The offerings all allow users to trade securities person to person, without a centralised mediator such as a stock exchange.

Nice try.

That article is from 2014

YOU MORAN!

As well that whole thing was just some wikipedia page and many alternates were on there.

Looks like the scam artists behind NxT are grasping old moldy straws at this point.  Waiting for their 50 million NxT to be worth something.   Shocked
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP ( RIPPLE ) Discussion - All about XRP on: June 26, 2015, 11:19:20 AM
I think Eamor's points are well taken about what Ripple is all about. It is on a whole other level of fintech then Bitcoin, it has massive venture capital to support it, with employees who are financial major players, going after the wealthiest institutions like top tier banks and remittance companies.

Why anyone in the crypto world does not recognize the huge upside of a minimal investment in Ripples xrp (100k ) is beyond my comprehension.

Going after top tier banks and remittance companies implies Bitcoin isn't doing the same, which is 100% false.   When banks and remittance companies investigate blockchain technology they first and foremost will always look at Bitcoin.  Ripple simply doesn't register.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dump-Proof Coin? on: June 26, 2015, 09:43:51 AM
You are wrong about one thing "buyers are not going to sell below what they paid".

Indeed it is an everyday occurrence for two reasons.   One it is better to lose 10%-30%% of your principle than to lose 50% or more.  Second - people who want to gobble up a large percentage of a coin will purposely dump down the price, so they can acquire for cheaper, and sometimes will even borrow to do this (see shorting).

The only time you see prices go up for anything is generally the "Greater Fool Theory", meaning the person who wants a stock or a coin so bad that they'll continuously pay higher prices even though it's not necessarily in their interest to do so

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: June 26, 2015, 09:38:24 AM
Neither Jango nor Radioairplay are frontrunners in their field - Tunein and especially Pandora have 10x registered users and a greater number of unregistered users.

It looks like they've been editing the NeuCoin site and wikipedia a lot but one of their earliest claims was NeuCoin would have 1 million users within a year, when Bitcoin itself only has 100,000, according to the Federal Reserve, to 250,000, according to Jeffrey Robinson.  In other words Kaufman thinks he can attain 10x more users than BTC within 12 months (even though his current forum appears to be a ghost town).

Jango and Radioairplay together, if there is not an overlap in users, is only around 14 million freemium users (meaning at least 97%+ does not pay for anything) and if he can really get 8% of them to adopt NeuCoin then Daniel Kaufman is in the wrong business - he would be making $10s of millions doing seminars on freemium conversion because that accomplishment would be like selling ice to Eskimos or Oxygen to 1 billion people on earth.

285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt and the rise to the top. on: June 26, 2015, 02:15:11 AM
This thread is a joke right?
Its so funny it should be stickied.
NXT was a scam and stil is.
all the coins went to less then 30 people.. that's a scam

must be a pretty good elaborate scam i gotta say since its been going for almost 2 years. they just keep on cranking out code every month. im not sure what to think.

Bernard Madoff's scam went on for decades before he was investigated and put behind bars.  Duration of operation or an individual's profit does not mean something is not a scam. "I made money on it so it couldn't had been a scam" is something that is frequently parroted on here and not a correct conclusion.  There's plenty of people who made profit off Madoff's scam and other scams or illegal activity.

NXT's distribution where the two Eastern European co-founders took the majority, Jeff Garzik's review on the code, numerous thefts in the ecosystem which were probably the result of backdoors and the plethora of ponzi schemes based on half-completed projects on the asset exchange.  Verdict:  It's a scam.

286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: June 25, 2015, 05:27:47 AM
Scam here or not? Still need to figure this out. any ideas?

this is not scam bro .. Neucoin have future . you can Buy some on market when launching . and Hold , if you want use neucoin , you can do , marketplace cooming soon , maybe very soon

You're not going to be holding much with that 100% inflation every year.   Cheesy

Ever noticed why there doesn't seem to be many PoS high inflation coins on CMC?  Because they all get dumped because the holders don't tolerate being stolen from.  If a coin is stagnant then you lose half your holding after 1 year and in crypto we've seen coins go stagnant for years.

we will have to wait a few more months before neucoin hits the streets.  I wonder what the 'investors' think will happen with the price on the open market?

Clearly, as they have indicated, this will have more users than BTC within 1 year.  Meaning the first month alone should produce around 8,000 users (even though their current forums / interest levels are ghost towns..) and thus it should skyrocket to #3 or #4 in the first month...

So yes if you believe in Daniel Kaufman, the Direct Revenue Scam Artist, then hit up every loan shark in town and borrow as much as possible and slap it on dem NeuCoins!!
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happenend to Ethereum? on: June 24, 2015, 11:59:48 PM
There was already warning in advance.  Ever noticed they had an original IPO in January 2014, based out of Ontario (Canada), but abruptly ended it and later relocated to Switzerland to do their second IPO?  DING DING DING.  That was the first red flag.   If they couldn't run something legally in Canada (which barely regulates crypto compared to the US) then it's indication they were up to no good.

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happenend to Ethereum? on: June 24, 2015, 11:49:52 PM
It's pretty much well known that their public wallets are now empty and people could see them getting lower each time they dumped.  Wink

This is antecedent and coincidental but my observations, at the time, there was a correlation between Ethereum dumping BTC and the $Fiat value of BTC plummeting.

Maybe that is indication that the Bitcoin volume is largely faked in the bear market (bots trading amongst themselves) and when $millions do legitimately get dumped, the market can't sustain it and thus has to correct to a lower price.

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happenend to Ethereum? on: June 24, 2015, 11:38:46 PM
You mean the media creation of the child prodigy Vitalik Buterin, who was previously an editor for an obscure magazine read by almost nobody and displayed no indication of programming skills, turned out to be a fraud?  I AM SHOCKED!   How did an obscure magazine editor receive more fame than the programmers of Bitcoin themselves?  Gavin used to work at MIT and yet our intelligence is constantly insulted each time the crypto media pushes forward some boy wonder genius and claims he has more intelligence, programming skill and drive than all the Bitcoin developers put together.

I'll lay down the truth.  Vitalik Buterin, even during his Bitcoin magazine days, was always traveling around the world and partying it up on other people's dime.  There's no way he has been programming for Ethereum if he is always flying to some party in Hong Kong or London or somewhere in the states, no absolutely way, anybody who has traveled a lot knows it throws you off from being productive.  Vitalik was obviously just a salesmen the entire time.   Whether Ethereum was "his" project or if it was really an external party who used him as a mascot, we don't know and may never find out.

People have been ghost coding in his name (like ghostwriting).  Whether that's Goldman Sachs who have a boiler room full of Indians programming Ethereum code or it's his friends, we don't know, but what do we know is they've already burnt through the money.

292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Active Team Members on: June 24, 2015, 11:31:38 PM
Clearly he is a proponent of NEM | MEN branding.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Top 5 Cryptocurrencies? (2015 version) on: June 24, 2015, 07:34:09 AM
BTC, LTC, DOGE, DASH, NXT, BTS these are NOT the top five of 2015 ... they have already arrived.
PP, xMR, and Name are here to stay also.
Ripple and Stellar are NOT Crypto ... they are Corp.

for 2015
1. vert
2. black
3. pot
4. uno
5. flo

vert and black have already made the move
pot uno and flo will earn their marks before 2016

Those coins you mentioned have been out since 2014 and have yet to go anywhere in the meantime.  Granted a lot of "legacy" projects (Doge, NXT, LTC) only maintain a higher capitalization, in the first place, due to the whales regurgitating from the 2013 Chinese pump.  Welcome to the world of penny stocks err I mean cryptocurrency.

Still those legacy projects have yet to recover to their former glory and recovery is hard because there are armies of bagholders who are desperate to cash out and they are willing to take X% losses to do so.  This is well documented with NXT where, each time there is a rebound, some whale or group of bagholders will dump it back down and it's very predictable too.

If we're dealing with strictly 2015 releases then the most successful so far is probably XEM (March release).   I guess number 2 would be PayCoin, if you count December 2014 as being close enough to 2015.

So far it has been a big surprise that XEM outperformed PayCoin, if you consider the resources and networking Josh Garza had.

Otherwise there simply isn't many 2015 releases so far.   Having gone through Coinmarketcap, seems like almost everything in the top 40 came out in 2014 or years earlier.

294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MicroGuy's Altcoin Pick of the Week (Inside Scoop) on: June 24, 2015, 02:15:10 AM
Is Navajocoin related to Mazacoin? I see they share the same "folk" approach with a indigenous sonding name. I remember investing in MZC, something like 0.2, and I got burned, the thing crashed the next day, Payus sort of dissappear.. with time it just went to a few hundred satoshis. It was souding good with all those official papers of it being accepted by a tribe as the official currency, but it all ended up in nothing, I have no idea if some other devs picked the project up or something. I still got them lol, they show up on my portfolio trading for 67 in Cryptsy... great deal.

Navajo does use the indigenous sounding name but because of WW2 cryptography (wiki code talker).  Not some wishy washy thing like Maza which was built on lies that confused and ultimately exploited investors.  Especially those in Europe and Asia who are ignorant about the internal matters of the US and bought the claims that there was a sovereign Maza nation and/or  that indigenous poverty can be solved by their own currency (false - a start to fixing that would be the restoration of the hereditary system and land redistribution of the tribal lands, because the status quo means nobody can use it as equity to take out loans and access to capital is a necessity in capitalism to prosper).

295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / It's spelt NxT and besides it's an outted scam!! on: June 23, 2015, 09:31:31 PM
Jeff Garzik, one of the developers of Bitcoin and possibly the future lead developer, determined there are probable backdoors in the NXT source code.

NxT was a scam where its' founder owns at least 400 million NxT.   Shocked
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Banxshare scam.. Fake market cap coinmarket on: June 23, 2015, 09:30:05 PM
NxT is so obsessed with sockpuppets?  Why?  Is it because CfB owns 400 million NxT?   Shocked
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the leading altcoins now? on: June 23, 2015, 08:11:37 PM
The current market price has nothing to do with a coin's success. A coin's success is defined by the popularity of the real world applications it facilitates.

Tumblr acquired 75,000 users within its' first 12 days.  We have an estimate from the Federal Reserve Bank that only 100,000 (addresses =/= users) people are using Bitcoin and that is over 6+ years.  Alexa rank, Google Trends and other tracking services indicate that Bitcoin is actually dropping in popularity.  If Bitcoin was a company it would had been shut down years ago as, for something aimed at a global market, it simply isn't being adopted by anybody.

There's no cryptocurrency with real world application or adoption yet.  Even Bitcoin right now is primarily hoarded and used as a speculator investment (terrible one at that as it has lost 80% of its' value since February 2014).

What if the chances are the first real viral cryptocurrency rivals the growth of something like Tumblr?  How do you buy something on day #1-#3 before it goes to the moon by day #12?  Chances are you wouldn't be able to and would be left behind.
